When it comes to the game itself, I find Co-Op the only realistic "online" mode to have. Multiplayer in itself sounds too wack, it'd be like GTA 5 Online but with wands and even more chaos.

so, for a game like this, or any other game that tries to implement a magic system that's supposed to capture the feeling/spirit of magic from the point of view of a wizard. how are you going to implement it? a craft-your-spells but you need to unlock a set of scrolls or other pieces of information as the building blocks, and as your character gets stronger you can craft stronger spells? I'm genuinely curious as I have yet to see a game which can implement a magic system that makes it feel like you are in control.

Ah, not really. it showed snippits of the game that were highly curated and only showed what they wanted us to see. Companies showing gameplay tends to refer to a long-ish showcase where they show off movement, a small story segment, how combat (if any) works. basically the company showing how the game works

When they say gameplay, they were probably refering to gameplay cut scenes, and a couple of scenes of the character walking around hogwarts with a custom camera perspective for cinematic purposes
