For example I never read the Goblet of Fire, only ever saw the movie, but the few Potterheads I've met always say I'm "missing out" because I didn't read the books

I think the first Hunger Games movie was pretty spot-on. It didn't include everything obviously: that's impossible. But the first one had the essential essence of the book in there. The final movie in that series, however, was severely lacking what made the finale so great in the books. I wish more movies would have a part 2 (where needed, of course; not forced) because some stories really need more details and scenes for them to be memorable.

Replayed Breath of the Wild not too long ago, game is still one of the best games I've played
