I would love there to be some sort of prelude, maybe shopping in diagon alley or something of the sort. Then based on how you talk to people / what shops you go to first the game will make a decision. And then when you're actually sorted, the hat would just kind of suggest the house based on how you played the prelude, but you can just choose to override it if you don't want that house.

And then a couple of years back I bought a complete new machine after I had my first job and earned up some money.
