Well just look at combat. In HL you actually do combos and its worthwhile. A lot of spells are useful in and out of combat.
In witcher 3, you spam quen and light attack. Using other builds is just stupidly bad

I dont think its a "hot take", i think HLs success speaks for itself. The real "hot take" id give is that witcher 3 was a pretty mediocre game that rode off the success of skyrim mostly
