Even a game like Death Stranding, which was all about connecting to other people, could be played in single-player. But again, Hogwarts Legacy does not offer anything the other games mentioned offered, and singleplayer is still possible for them.
Yes you could even play the Middle Earth games singleplayer, without an internet connection.

NPC encounters are often out of date, i.e. a character dies and later on a character and I talk about them as though they are still in communication with us
NPCs have a tendency to act very odd, i.e. chasing after a kidnapped boy who is in dire need of our help, and out of nowhere we stop to talk about thestrals
The portraits are VERY spotty on their performance and have a tendency to freeze and unfreeze
Pathing for NPS seems almost non existent
MASSIVE lack of idle NPC voice lines
Capes and Cloaks are often visually messed up, clipping through your body constantly

and google "legality of fanfiction" and the first link is a wikipedia page that goes into good detail on it: in short: a story and any creation is the IP of the creator and if an author says it's not allowed, then doing so become an IP violation which is illegal.
J.K. Rowling for example had issues with book 7 if i remember correctly because it was so close to fanfic someone had written prior to the books release which is why many author don't allow it.

AO3 has spearheaded this element but the problem is "transformitive" is a squishy word and there's no way to quantify transformation. It's why any fanfic author violating an author's wishes inherently runs the risk of LOSING a legal battle. just because you added in a unique character in a harry potter fanfic for example doesn't mean you neccesarily "transformed" the story enough to meet those qualifiaction.

On normal 16:9 monitors 2K would refer to 1920×1080p.
1440p can be called that, QHD or WQHD... but not 2K.

I have a strong feel that if we get a dlc, that it's going to be next year or so and that it'll be the next schoolyear of hogwarts, maybe adding quidditch and a new world space, but I feel the base game is pretty much in finished state, which is actually amazing considering how many devs rolled with putting out unfinished games in the past
