It’s the same stuff as what Streaming services are doing now and all it’s going to do is drive up rates of illegal downloads because it’s gonna get unaffordable after the prices go up enough.

I don’t know about you but I’m fairly certain with the way a lot of the economy and the people contributing to it are going eventually nobody will be able to reasonably afford both the game AND everything else they need to pay for. Driving up the price of AAA videogames is not a good thing, especially when those prices are being artificially inflated to enrich those at the top (CEOs and of course license holders like Rowling). It does nothing to majorly monetarily support the workers who actually made it (and I think that sucks)

With the amount of time you spend playing a game, they come out way cheaper on a price per hour basis than going to the cinema.
Hobbies are expensive, I know it can suck to not be able to get the game you want cause you don't have the money on hand, but making a game is insanely expensive (most AAA games cost more to make than a marvel movie), and there's a lot of people working on them. Yes those prices are high, but even with those high prices the devs don't make a lot of money because there's an enormous amount of added cost.
I heavily suggest looking Mark Darrah on YouTube, he worked for 23 years as a programmer and executive producer for bioware, and has a lot of insight on how games are made and what they cost. He's got an awesome video where he breaks down the cost of games and how much of what you pay actually ends up going to the devs and not to studio rent / publishers / advertisement / etc.
