seriously, mcdonald's is stuck to some single contract from the 70s that forces them to use one specific ice cream machine model from one specific company that has absurdly high machine operability standards and reports an error if for example the ice cream got 1 degree too hot for 2 seconds during preparation. those machines then need to be serviced by an expensive contractor; the owner or employees of the mcdonald's are contractually forbidden from touching it. not that they'd know how to anyway, because the error codes were made cryptic and unhelpful on purpose to make special training necessary to service them.

that's why mcdonald's ice cream machines are broken so often. it's not that the employees are too lazy to clean them (if they really were, they'd just let the machines run without cleaning thme)

Honestly working at Mcdonalds is a mixed bag. The work can be monotonous, and rush hour can be a pain. That being said, if you have the fortune of working with people around your age (im 22), that makes the job a lot more tolerable since most of you will become friends. So its like " damn this job sucks, but hey at least im doing it with Jacob".

You could probably take Tylenol, but its best to just sleep it over home remedies. So something like Tea, Soup, and a hot shower since im assuming that your nose is also stuffed. This tactic works for me, but if one nose is fine just plug up the other one with toilet paper and just use the other side to breathe. That'll improve your over all comfort.

It would obviously mess with so many things in the game balancing wise and things like that, but idk I just think it would be a lot of fun

Literally 1.1 update fixed most of the issues, people just had too high expectations for the game and felt let down when the game wasn't what they wanted

Yeah, I'll be teaching English. It's something I've always wanted to do because I love language so much so I'm grateful for the opportunity. Where I live now, I'm an elementary school teacher but COVID caused my state to over hire so there's no room for me here any more. I decided to see this as an opportunity to check off a few things on my bucket list and got hired in a nice little private school in Japan.
I'm leaving November 1. I'm very nervous and drowning in legal nonsense but it'll be a fun adventure.

It is! I'm beyond excited for the change but all I'm bringing with me to Japan is a laptop because my PC is simply too big and cumbersome to take. Plus, I think I'd die of anxiety while on the plane imagining all the damage my PC could be taking. I bought a really strong laptop though and its specs exceed the minimum requirement for the game so it should be enough but I'll certainly be putting this laptop through its paces once HL comes out!

The world wars, information is easily accessible and it's a lot of things to write, what caused them, what ended them, who was involved, what happened, that sort of thing, so much to write about which is good if you have a word quota

It was big world problem for everyone, many religious people fought in the wars and many refused, you could also write about that

Depending on where you are they don't really speak much (if any) english so ordering food you just hope there are pictures on the menu, not sure if that has changed but he was in Osaka. One of my favourite places to visit was Nara, I highly recommend it!

Luckily, I speak somewhat decent Japanese. That's one of the big reasons I'm going; I want to gain fluency.
I do worry about the first few months when my speaking and listening comprehension will be put to the test but I'm hoping that with practice, I'll improve and feel a little bit more at home.

Osaka isn't too far from where I'll be. I'm going to be in the Gifu prefecture so it wouldn't be out of the question for me to steal a weekend or so and spend some time exploring Nara.

Yeah, for me I live in a major city and I don't really know any other life. A large part of me wanted to keep it that way but my brother, who lived in Japan when he was in the Navy, told me that he kept to the cities like Tokyo because he spoke only English. He said a smaller town would be perfect for me because I already speak Japanese and I want to gain fluency. So I took his advice and I found a nice school on the outskirts of Ogaki City.
