VAC is multiplayer games for competitive integrity, SAM has been in use for ~10 years and has never (afaik) delivered a ban or punishment, all it does is run code in a game that triggers the call to steam, there's no way to tell it wasn't legitimate lel

i was arguing with some lower IQ people in this chat the other day and they were saying the broom controls are fine. There are now TWO mods that FIX the broom controls to put all directions on one stick like it should've been from the start. Already over 16k downloads which is really good for a game not even 2 weeks old yet. so even though im sure they aren't in here right now, im just pointing and laughing at you.

I find it more fun flying on the hippogriff rather than the broom. Not tried the thestral yet. Either way, the controls are awful. I can’t look down without descending. The fun part is using the grab bag to summon the hippogriff, straight onto its back and on dismount it is sucked back into the bag

took me 10 hours something on hard difficulty
was my second run in the game

potions are quite op so using them in the final battles makes the game a lot easier

even on hard mode the game was pretty easy until that moment where you go to a cave with sebastian and fight a troll and a lot of spiders... there it get very hard, i didn't have potions there

I wanted to report an issue I had, but all the channels are locked. so I'll post it here and hope for the best. ||During the "Minding your own business quest" aka the haunted hogsmeade shop quest, i got to part where there is a room with a big door with 2 locks on it. In order to open the door you must complete the left 'Boss' and right 'boss' by doing the lanterns on both sides. The right side was fine. But when I went to the left, the left side of that one gave me issues. When the room flips over and you have to pull the lantern into the next room, i did it from the wrong side and the room flipped. So this left me in the room, with the lantern and arm on the other side with no way out. I was stuck. *** In hopes it would reset i went to the menus and went back, only to find that I couldnt even get that far bc the first room was flipped making the door blocked by bookcases and debris.*** || After nearly having a full on meltdown thinking i was about to loose 30+ hours of gameplay, i did realize that the game had autosaves in the load game feature, which made me loose a bit of time and had to completely redo the whole right side & boss, but I got lucky. It was one of the last saves on that load, so if anymore time pasted, I would have lost everything. **Maybe a reset feature should be added for people that have that same issue in the future. **

But everytime someone gets hit in the books or films with expelliarmus, they basically have to sprint to their wand to get it back. If wandless magic is possible, then why isn't a wandless ACCIO WAND not in the basic programme of Hogwarts? That seems like one of the most useful things to learn, because they seem so powerless without a wand & accio is a very basic spell.

If you have difficulties beating some enemies, it's worth checking your collection and find the mob, read its description.
Most of them have a "critical combo"
Some dugbogs for example, you can levioso them when they are about to hit you, which will lead them to be hang by their tongue and you can Diffindo to oneshot them or just hit them to do additional dmg

Also, if you read your "battle challenges" or whatever their name is, when you fight, the objective are mostly linked to the mobs critical combo

No there is no way to check
Go fight Inferius without fire spells and you'll be able to fill it easily as they can't die. And every 10x combo, you get a drop of ancient magic on the ground
Also make sure to fulfill the Ancient Magic spot on the maps, it will increase your ancient magic bars

Okay. I've been trying to beat dugbogs. I've been doing this for 2 days now. But I'm stuck. I've read their descriptions, tried what it said I should do, I even used some potions and used my most powerful gears. But they always kill me in like 20 seconds. I can't get past the Scrope's last hope quest.
Is there really no way of avioding them somehow or skip the quest? Help me, I have no idea what to do.

Then it's probably better for you to paly in Story mode, you'll have more time react and feel what is going on, which is especially important during the fights because you can counter the enemies with critical combos

And well, this is the entire point of that story, to decide whether or not the ends justify the means, but I think Solomon was a sad character. I felt bad for him and Anne.

He was an ex-Auror so he knew first hand how using Dark Magic can corrupt. Sebastian was just a boy who wanted to save his sister but he didn't know when too far was too far.

I honestly felt the whole time that Solomon was creating the monster in Sebastian by projecting all of his own personal anger, fear and frustration onto a literal child.

They could have made him more sympathetic if they showed a much softer side to him at the start and gradually turn him bitter as he watches Seb turn to the dark arts. But we are introduced to him losing his nerve because Seb offered his sister a plant....

Honestly it is no surprise how he ended up.

My thoughts on that is that Seb has always been the way he is as we see him. Difficult, resentful a little bit, angry because of how his parents died.

It's an unfortunate situation more than it is any one person's fault, imo.

Solomon definitely should have never been allowed to act as guardian to Seb if he clearly is as impatient, abrasive and aggressive as we see him.

All Seb needed was someone to be there for him and communicate as opposed to someone who clearly has a lot of built up resentment in him. All this was exacerbated by the vulnerable emotional state Seb was clearly in.

Seeing how Solomon acted to Seb makes it clear how Dark Wizards can be created.

I disagree a little bit. Solomon was his nearest kin, so there might've been no other choice on the matter as to who could take them in. I do agree that a grieving ex-Auror who is either a widower or never got married in the first place, isn't probably the best candidate for a guardian but life often doesn't deal us best case scenarios.

Seb I think needed a lot more than Solomon could give him but I don't think that Solomon didn't try with him, hence it being an unfortunate situation. Before Anne got sick, it seems like they had a happy life. Ominis was even allowed to come and stay with them because he had nowhere to go, and he seemed happy about that.

When Anne got hurt, Seb got desperate to hold onto his twin which is entirely reasonable, but he went beyond reason in his search. Casting the Unforgivable Curses is such a huge taboo in the Wizarding World.

Of course I do really like the fact that it turns the idea of "Dark Magic" into a grey concept.

I just can't get over how Solomon reacted in the worst way possible everytime we meet him.

1st time) aggressively chastises Seb for offering his sister a plant instead of trying to be supportive of his attempts to heal his sister while trying to help him come to terms with his emotions.

2nd time) kicks him out of the house and forbids him from seeing his sister when he casts a curse to save Anne's life. Instead he should have seriously talked him through the dangers of dark magic from his own experience and how any other type of spell would also have saved her.

3rd time) acts surprised when Seb has resorted to desparate measures after being cut off and abandoned by his only guardian figure and attacks him.

I'm sorry, but he was an absolutely abhorrent parental figure and essentially enabled his own murder.

I sort of wish they had a more interesting villain for this game though.

its not a PC. theres no way to get into the xbox's files and put them into the games files all simultaneously. thats the benefit of PC, small but efficient

some games you even have to install 3rd party programs to get the mods to work. its more complicated than copy and pasting the files 90% of the time

There was a part in the dungeon that involved one of those butterfly doors with four butterflies in the room and a switch that had to be pushed. But whenever you used magic, you dropped your butterfly. I’m just kind of wondering what other people did to get past that room. I could not figure it out for the life of me.

And when you Depulso the mechanism, another Butterfly comes up with a platform near the door, you can take it with Lumos from there directly and put it on the door too

I don't mind the hardest difficulty and was surprised that the AI seems more aggressive than normal.

But let's be real - it will never be Elden Ring, especially considering considering that a large portion of the players are probably not experienced gamers and only playing this because it is set in the Wizarding World

like there was once my protego was bugged, and couldn't properly stupefy, so i went to a random camp to see if my mouse was acting weird, had to wait like 3 seconds standing there just for the enemy to shoot a spell

obviously we cannot compare the game to the likes of elden ring and MH, because we are wand yielders who dont really have casting/recovery times and are free to move fastly
but i expected the enemies to be somewhat comparable to us

height killed me more than all the enemies combined...

the hard mode is only "easy" if you know the enemies and know how to kill them fast. Otherwise, it's quite challenging. On my first walkthrough, it wasn't that easy, on my second one, it pretty looks like normal mode. I think only few players are good enough to be able to say that hard mode is easy
