The difference is far more significant with HDR and ray-tracing but the resolution difference also depends on screen size. On a monitor or smaller TV you don't need more than 1080p but on a proper TV that is like 50" or larger you can definitely tell the difference.

there is, it is easyer, they don't have to pay more money to steam for a midnight release, yes steam takes a bigger cut when you want to do a midnight release, EGS doesn't have a system yet, meaning they'd have to do it manually. No preload is for the safety of the game, they don't want people datamining the game or opening the game early

Console midnight releases are mostly handled by Playstation and Xbox...they don't have to do anything but hand the game files to the platform holders and that's how and when those platforms will release games respective to release date every single time. Completely hands off for devs and at no extra cost to devs.
