It's not fan theory. It's more nuanced and implied as the others have said. There are other lore bits through events, cosmetic descriptions, and Chinese sites that aren't just in the Cultivations. Basically the Crown Prince had kids two of them being Shayol and Justina. Shayol was just a wee baby left at the Wei family estate when it was burned down and Justina was on the run with her mom. The brother of the crown prince orchestrated a betrayal and basically made the Crown Prince a vagabond and seized control.

Daelyn and Justina control Ice Qi. Theoretically Shayol might be able to have the same power, but because she was raised as a young child as a normal human and didn't train in those arts, it never manifested.

and technically Shayol was never ''adopted by the Wei family'', it's just a made up lie

so the Emperor can cover up her real origin

Because Daelyn (Justina's Mom) was part of the Moonbane Cult (Yushan) before her life in the Royal Court. The Moonbane cult was salty that Daelyn left what was supposed to be a lifelong dedication. Yushan ordered Viper to assassinate Daelyn because they never let that go.

Also for new lore people: Yushan =/= Yueshan or Yue Shan.

Yushan is the cult dedicated to Moonbane.

Yueshan is the son of the Yue family who are soliders/warriors loyal to the emperor

Viper had pretty brutal life that was provided for her by her mother, Aconite. It's worth realizing that the 8th prince ran off with Daelyn, though he managed to conceive child (Viper) to matron Yushan, and it hit her hard. If Ning's daughter knew this, she may well have blamed Daelyn for her bad relationship with her mother and her fate.

Yep, she wants to resurrect Sunwing. What's funny is that she doesn't care much about the goddess; it's just a means to an end. She even calls Sunwing an overgrown chicken in an interaction with Cyra, which makes Cyra mad.

As for Zai, I'm not sure why she and her have beef. Zai is an assassin of Annica which works for the crown. Shayol is an officer of the Golden Keepers...which also works for the crown.

Tessa is not confused at all. She clearly knows what she wants, but it's always at the expense of everyone else around her. Some people would call it evil, but honestly it's pretty grey. I wouldn't call her a good person, but she's definitely not evil trying to rain destruction for destruction's sake.

Shayol is by the books. She's an officer of the Golden Keepers who are a police/investigative force. Her background is quite complex. She's the daughter of the previous crown prince who was exiled because of a coup done by his younger brother that was sanctioned by the current emperor of Icuria. After the former crown prince was exiled, baby Shayol was taken and then planted at Wei estate to pose as the "last surviving Wei family member" who survived the purge of the Weis. The Wei family opposed the younger brother's rise so they were eliminated with extreme prejudice. Shayol being planted achieved several goals. First was that she was groomed to be loyal to the crown. Since she's the "last remaining Wei" it effectively meant that the Wei family was loyal to the crown. Second, if the old crown prince ever came bumbling back, they'd have his daughter, Shayol, as a bargaining chip to make him think twice about invading.

Just cause she's loyal to the crown and works for the police force doesn't mean you can apply ACAB to her. Her story is pretty tragic and complex and in her pursuit of doing the right/fair thing, she inadvertently is fueling the shite politics the current emperor and his apparent are doing.

Because she doesn't know and nobody knows what truly happened at the Wei estate except us the players and the royal family.

Kurumi is an heiress of a renowned family of Onmyoji which are basically Shinto priests. Unlike everyone else in the lore who hails from either Icuria (China) or Lunzara (Persia), she hails from Helioth (Japan). Her story is more of a coming of age story. Onmyoji have always been male in her family line. Unfortunately for her family, she was the only one in her generation to possess innate powers like her forefathers. She was pretty headstrong about it and eventually got her way so now she's basically the Onmyoji of her family. In current Naraka she set out for adventure for half shites and giggles and half to find a cure for Takeda's demon.

Then you have the Yushan Cultists all the way in the northwest where Viper hails from.

Yeah I was wondering. Matari is definitely a potential demi-god given her lore hints how old she is. But Cyra and Hadi are a little shaky.

Cyra assumes there's still the church dedicated to the light in a large city or province and Hadi is like one of the last in line as an heir so he struck off on his own.

So I was like, if the kingdom was eliminated what about its people and nobility

So I wasn't sure because reading the lore without context it seems like Lunzara/Holoroth is still up and bustling despite being wiped by the Wolf King and the Canis Tribes

the story about ''the daughter of the aquilla'' is during the wolf king attack, when all hopes is lost, their female saint sacrificed her body to became something else, gives her the power of an immortal that she will return to her age of 28 every 40 years

but the thing is it looks like even matari don't even know who she's actually is, well she probably found out but at first she have no idea

she was guided by someone she called master, also a female, on some weapon/outfit descriptions i vaguely remember this master told her ''be calm, you'll soon find out who you really are''

and on another weapon/outfit description, matari killed her

so it makes no sense if matari is actually the original female saint that gave up on her physical body 300 years ago

In the vast desert, an oasis fed by melting water from Kunlun Mountain has become a vital stop for merchants traveling between the east and the west. This oasis developed into a key transportation hub for major trade routes connecting Yuelun to the west, Wuji to the east, and the northern grasslands.

Initially, a merchant from Yuelun, who believed in a divine eagle, funded the building of the Divine Eagle Castle at the oasis. As more merchants settled nearby, they established a small country on the trade route, known as the Huoluo Kingdom. The founders of this city never imagined that their descendants would become kings.

300 years ago, during a conflict with the Wuji Empire, the Canglang King sought financial help from the Huoluo Kingdom. However, the Huoluo King refused and executed the envoys. In retaliation, the Canglang King attacked Huoluo, leading to a five-year war. Eventually, the Wolf King used the Immortal Mask's power to destroy Huoluo, resulting in the royal family's death and the flight of two surviving princes.

After the war, Huoluo turned into a deserted ghost town, but it began to recover as the power of the Immortal Mask faded. A group claiming to be the royal guards gradually took control of the Condor Fort, while sand bandits used parts of Huoluo as hideouts to rob merchants.

In 1648 according to the Wuji calendar, descendants of the Huoluo royal family sought help from the Wuji Empire to reclaim their kingdom. The eighth prince led a troop to assist Prince Erus. Simultaneously, Yuelun Kingdom sent a rival prince, Hal, leading to a conflict between the two claimants. The eighth prince retreated due to limited forces, and the Wuji Empire's crown prince later battled the Yuelun army. Huo Luo currently remains under different factions' control and holds a secret known only to a few.

I like how the Canis Tribes were at war with Icuria even before Holoroth was a thing.

I like the irony where the Mask was then given to the Flame Emperor of Icuria and they were wiped out by the very power that they used to destroy another kingdom.

I see that's why Matari flits with both Lunarzan sultans and Temulch.

Holoroth had a shared history with both Lunarza and the Canis Tribes, by extension the saintess that Matari is probably the reincarnation of was associated with both.

I assumed Holoroth was an extension of Lunarza because of how closely Matari played around with the Lunarzaran sultans and nobles to get the things she needed for her plans.

They're martial siblings. They're not related by blood. Tessa's Mom took Wuchen in despite his blood being impure (half immortal/half mortal) and taught him the ways of being an Immortal.

They're basically step-siblings, there's a lot of tension between the two as they don't really like each other (though Wuchen hates admitting that he liked getting stepped on by Tessa's dainty feet)

But their goals currently align, so they work together.

Lots of the cast ( most of them ) have little to no impact on the world of Naraka itself, however Wuchen and Tianhai’s actions actively change it.

The only Other character that could be considered a main would be viper , but I consider her as more of a poster character

Zai is Tarka Ji's younger sister, when Zai was born, her mother died in childbirth, and at the same time, someone predicted that Zai would bring disaster to Ji's family (so far, it could be Wuchen), so Ji's elders decided to execute Zai, but Zai's father couldn't bear the thought of killing his own daughter, so he ordered the servants to take Zai and run away. The servant who escaped from Ji's house couldn't afford to raise Zai, so she sold her to human traffickers (not necessarily as a prostitute, she could have been bought by someone else as a slave or a daughter or a wife). she is then bought by an assassin organization serving the WuJi Empire to be trained as an assassin and used against the Ji family. This, in turn, fulfills the prophecy that Zai will bring disaster to the Ji family.

As to why the Immortals compel mortals to fight for the Immortal Masks, we have to talk about the story of the world of Naraka.

In Naraka's world, the world began as chaos, and out of that chaos a seed was born that gave birth to the two energies Yin and Yang. Gradually Yang grew into a god named Sunwing who resembled a phoenix, and Yin grew into a god named Moon bane who resembled a dragon that looked like a boa constrictor. The seed grew into a giant tree called the Aegis Tree, with Sunwing living in its crown and Moonbane perched at its roots. Because the two energies of Yin and Yang repel each other they fight constantly, and every time they fight the two gods die together.In the ripple effects of the battle between the two gods, all life in the world will die, except for Morus Isle, where is protected by the Aegis Tree.

Every time the two gods fought, the dead physical bodies of the two gods would also return to the world, nourishing the rebirth of all things. When the spirits of the two gods of Yin and Yang coalesced and their physical bodies were restored once more, they would repeat their previous wars, causing the world to remain in eternal calamity.

Yesterday we talked about human creating their own civilisation with the help of the Immortals.

No Viper is saint of the Yushan sect that believes in moonbane, and she holds part of Moonbane's power, and she fights for the mask in order to resurrect Moonbane

When Gelid Yushan became the leader of Kunlun, she found out that she was pregnant, and Viper's father fled Kunlun with Justina's mother in order to return to the Wuji Empire.

At this time the Crown Prince of the Wuji Empire came to Kunlun in search of his defeated brother. And he rescuing Justina's mother from a mountain stream, the two eventually came together and gave birth to Justina.

They're all only archetypes found in popular literature and of the Chinese psyche. You can make the correlation yourself for the fun of it (dev's also do that to sell skins).

I don't think of Zai as 'fire horse' bc 'horse' (牛) is 'male' (阳), but nothing and no one will stop you from doing so if you feel like it.
I think of Zai as a fire buffalo (丁丑) instead, bc that's important to me and Zai fits the trope in my fantasy ('buffalo' (丑) is 'female' (阴) in the table).

Valda is following her father's footsteps as the new head.

When she was 8 Tianhai betrayed hidden race, stole the mask and ran away. Omnius (hidden race leader at that time) led the elites to hunt him down. Originally Yaqi Zi, a genius from Tushan Tongjiao sect (1 of 3 sects of Hidden Clan, the other 2 are Juejiao and Yuanjiao), Tongjiao specialize in control animals spirit and transform into beasts.

Even though there isn't really an official translation but imma just use these terms to refers to them for convenient:

• Tongjiao (通教): Universal sect
• Juejiao (觉教): Awakening sect
• Yuanjiao (元教): Primordial sect

Universal sect started an act of rebellion against the other 2 but they lose, Yaqi Zi feigned surrender to the Primordial sect after the war and seized the mask, fled to an island, planned to use the mask's power to transform the island’s living creatures into monsters, intending to build a monstrous army to strike back against the Hidden Clan (this is why on Tessa's lore when she free Furen she said ''first you betrayed Universal sect, then you betrayed Hidden Clan, no wonder my sister rather marry that human emperor than become you wife).

At the same time, the other two sects of the Hidden Clan also sent their disciples to hunt Yaqi Zi down.
Unexpectedly, long ago back when Yi shot down Sunwing, one of his arrow falls onto this island. This arrow was made from a branch of the Fusang tree (Aegis tree), drenched in Moonbane's blood and also contain a part of Sunwing soul.

• crown prince of icuria on his way to find and rescue his brother didn't found him but found daelyn, bring her back to icuria and married her, later daelyn gave birth to justina and shayol
• meanwhile because daelyn ran away, anicota was choosen to be maiden of yushan, she also found out that she's pregnant, later she gave birth to viper but since she's pissed she poured her pain and agony on her daughter

From what I read and understood from some excerpts, Viper apparently killed Justina's "mother" (Daelyn Gu) and kept Stalactice for herself. But reading Justina's lore, Justina's mother (the one mentioned) is called FeiXue, so much so that she died to a group of bandits after she performed the blood ritual passing the power of the icy Qi to Justina. In the items, Justina's mother is called Daelyn Gu...
Is there any item that explains if one of the two (FeiXue or Daelyn Gu) is an adoptive mother? Is there any item, any part of the lore, any place that says exactly what happens between Viper and Daelyn or is it just speculation and assumptions?

I may have misunderstood, I don't know how accurate the game's translations are. But I tried to translate both Chinese and English (both traditional and simplified) and all the parts that say "Feixue" become "Mother". However, translating the Stalactice sword, Daelyn Gu becomes the ideogram for Feixue (飞雪).

As for the part that I understood where she dies, it would be here "(chapter: Swimming Lessons)". After she passes the icy Qi to her daughter, she trains a little, they are ambushed, and the way it is written in English it seems that this is Feixue/Daelyn Gu's last fight. After that I don't know how much time passes, because up until this part it seems that Justina is still a child and in chapter 3 she already seems to be 18 years old.

Another point that made me understand this is that since there are no mentions of Justina's mother in the present from chapter 3 onwards, I understood that that was her last fight. She only talks about what her mother said to her, or that she never listened to her, among other things.

they was on their way back to icuria, got attacked by bandits when they're travelling across the desert

daelyn passed out bcoz of the moonbane energy acting up

but she still protected by her icy qi that when a bandit attack her with a knife, directly at her throat, the knife breaks and daelyn - still unconcious - didn't received a single scratch

then justina killed the bandits, she literally decapitated them

then daelyn wake up, asked justina: ''what's our chance of survive in this desert if we still trying to get to icuria with our current condition?''

I would give Takeda not only 40, but even 50. 😄 Matari 40+.
Valda fits into the 30-40 range, but I could also see Temulch, Tarka, Akos, Yueshan, and maybe Shayol in it. Or maybe Shayol just before 30.
I expected Feria to be +-20, but I didn't expect Zai to be younger than Feria. Or Shayol at the same age. 🤔
When did Shayol manage to advance so high in Golden Keepers... It's puzzling.

There was an event once, the newest character was probably Tessa at that time, I don't remember.
It may have been on this channel before, but I didn't look that far back.
It shows the sympathies between the characters. All the other pairings like each other less (two halves of a heart - 1 heart) or don't like each other at all (empty hearts).

It was also a really cool event, the one with the painting. Justina's interesting quests and beautiful outfit with the umbrella, probably my favorite among hers. Unfortunately, can't be seen anymore among her outfits. Probably only those who bought it then have it. I still have the background for Justina from that event.

I think Zai had half a heart for Tarka? It would show her distrust after so many years of separation. But I didn't save screenshots of all the combinations, only the best ones, so I don't remember. It's possible that it was as you say, that his was full and hers was empty and that together it was one heart.
I remember Ziping didn't have a full heart with anyone, that's why she wasn't on this list. But that's because she's from a different universe.
