I had a similar NBT overload crash issue on a world once. Had to use NBTeditor to go to the appropriate chunk and delete the offending entity.
Iirc, there are mods out there (can't remember the name) that will remove erroring entities, rather than crash the server. Might be worth looking into.
Easiest fix is to just grab the XL Packets mod. So-So just has to optimize the way they save the player data in the statue tile class
Could be because of how So-So saves the data, or it could be someone else manipulating the data, who knows

The original XL Packets says it works on 1.19.2, but the file itself is labeled for 1.18.2 AND it doesn't even show up in the mods list in-game

Learn all the glyphs (from base ars and any other add-ons too) as each one gives you more mana. Also be sure to enchant you armor with mana boost and mana regen.
As far as items from Omega, look into the focus of mana boost (or focus of mana regen if you prefer). Also, Omega adds a potion extender and a potion amplifier, so consider using those with some mana regen potions to make them a lot stronger.
And get an advanced amulet of mana boost or advanced amulet of mana regen of course

I've been messing with the aura ritual, I don't see any change from placing blocks below the brazier and I can't increase speed / range with essence. Am I doing something wrong or were there issues in 1.18?
I don't remember any issues but it hasn't been tested that much so hard to say

How do you use 9 big amplify to transform a golden apple into an enchanted golden apple?
With the proyectile and enchant glyph i only have 8 spaces left

Unless the skyblock was kind and compensated for the fact that it's a skyblock and therefore terrain generation based items and features are broken: You probably don't, from what I remember.

I plan to split the propagates and a few other misc utility glyphs into an ars utilities mod which will have some other ideas I have
including new relays and the potion bottler I think, those don't fit in Omega or Industria as it currently stands
then I'd have the low tier glyphs from my 3 new elemental schools in another mod, those being nature, life, and alchemy. This would include compat with elemental and maybe a few misc items as well
then the dimension, celestial and demonic schools, and tier 4 glyphs would be in Ars Omega which would now be somewhat stripped down.
It would obv only load tier 4 stuff for the 3 new elements if that mod was also installed
I'm REALLY not sure where to put new relays, IDK if they fit a lightweight utilities / logic glyphs addon BUT they don't fit industria as that's a compat mod, they don't fit the elements thing, and I want them to not be in Omega so they're more accessible
but those are all incompatible goals so like, that's awkward

and I could port them first, while I'm not done making worldgen changes to Omega

also now that 1.21 is approaching I'm gonna make a new effort to port to 1.20 so I don't start falling completely behind

since Omega is already a published mod it'll be awkward sending people elsewhere for features it used to contain
also, I'd need to have more compat code and soft dependencies which is annoying (though just the price of making it modular which is overall probably a plus)
and it would just be less cohesive in general, for better or for worse
and yes Omega would still keep a few glyphs pre tier 4, just not as many
like transmute is still gonna stay part of Omega obv

I finally got around to letting you carve the clay with shears instead of just the glyph lol
you still need the animate golem glyph for it to be useful in any way though lol
it dawns on me that if I add the modular staff, potion relay, and a few other misc things to the new addon with all the elements then it'll be a slightly bigger addon that'l act like Elemental
plus then low tier staffs will be accessible outside of Omega
but tier 4 spells and book, the demon realm, and many glyphs and rituals would still be part of Omega after the split
as well as higher tier versions of the modular staff and some other things I have planned
and gorgons and petrification would also obv be part of Omega after the split
of the two familiars I have planned, the raven would go in the one with the elements and the mysterious feline would stay in Omega
if I ever get to adding them, though I plan to start working on the raven pretty soon

normal familiar normal tools making your own staff learning arcana (0 punctuation xd)

funny, the levels in ars remind me of wuxia novels (the magic ones)
trying to add tiers of staffs is turning out to be painful
after a good 4 hours of working on it I seem to be back where I started
hopefully maybe something I did will make it easier to do

I also tried to add spikes to the top but they're in the wrong spot 😦
and BTW the spikes don't come with the staff, you can craft spikes to add to the staff to improve melee damage

since there's four tiers of staffs now, coresponding to the book tiers, I'll add a config option to make each staff only work with spells of that tier or lower
but it'll be off by default because nerfing staffs is lame
I've also updated the modular staffs to work with every form again, at the cost of you don't get a free projectile glyph
once I add the upgrades this will be more than worth it, though right now they're kinda weak until the last tier of every component
(also right now there's only 1 path of each component so there's a clear best choice, but that won't be true for long)
this plus leap is nuts though
all that said, I might have to do something to shrink the tooltip soon, it's huge
I really like how these are turning out, despite my terrible modelling skills
they're becoming one of my favorite features, alongside the propagators and clay golems
since it can have upgrades and enchants applied, I'm also adding durability to the staffs
though I'm considering making staffs compatible with durability cast which would make that more of another buff than a nerf

aaand upgrade recipe works! it saves the crystal, tip, and any upgrades applied

when you take the crystal out, aside from dyeing it, you can upgrade it now too
Are the amplifies from the staffs going to cost additional mana? I found the staffs in 1.18 not to have much use due to how expensive they'd make everything. Just didn't feel like much of an upgrade
Hey long time no see. Idk if its been done yet as have taken a defently long break, but could I recommend adding in support with ars elemental's protection of the four elements if you havent already. Feel like that could be cool.

well, ok, there will be an upgrade that adds more amplifies than the amplify upgrade but they do have a cost.
however, the amplifies added by the high tier crystals and the basic amplify upgrade are free and don't cost any mana, making this a very effective tool for combat
(hence why I added durability to it)
hence the word "free" on, for example, the amethyst staff crystal

Out of curiosity what kind of work is involved in updating an existing mod to a new version? It seems very tedious but like how do they break if they don’t interact with new features for instance
I’ve always wanted to try my hand at making a mod but this has prevented me. I work usually 45-50 hours each week
It completely depends on what the mod does, how big it is, whether it depends on other mods, and MOST importantly, on what Mojang decided to do in the update
But for mods adding simple blocks and tools it's usually very easy. If the mod adds machines and stuff it's probably also easy. If it's an addon for another mod then aside from waiting for that mod to update, the difficulty depends on if that mod changed how it works. If you add weird complicated features like changing how some entities work or adding custom rendering things (not just a custom model those are easy) then it might also be painful, it depends. Finally, worldgen was quite painful a few times in the past as Mojang repeatedly broke it.
If you just wanna add tools or a simple hostile mob that doesn't do much different from skeletons / husks or something, or a new chest block or wood type or something it shouldn't be too bad to update, just a bit of work
If you add a custom magic system or dimension or change how hunger works or how damage works in general you might be ok but the odds are much higher that it ends up taking a long time
However, in the end it only depends on what Mojang (or the mod loader you use) breaks when updating.
Out of all the concerns when modding I wouldn't worry too much about the updates unless you personally care about always being on the newest MC version
You will need to learn Java to make mods though
learning java is the longest part
once you get decent at it the rest will come naturally

i have max mana boost on all armor and rings of discount but feel like most my spells still can't be made that strong

hey im having some issues with transmute, playing on 1.13. how do you get it to target blaze rods, to turn them into ender perals?

anyway, to convert blaze rods you need multiple amplifies (I forget how many) AND you need to wear a focus of alchemy

I have 40+ levels, I'm using a wand with 9 amplifies, and I have way more than enough source to cast the spell, but no matter what I do I cant enchant the apple. Any tips to what I could be missing?

Which java version are you using? Omega on 1.16 only works with java 8, as pre 1.17 that was the only officially supported java version for minecraft

Imagine the combinations that could be done if some of the effects (like for example those of the stability cloak and Enchanter's cloak) had became tier 3 threads (since some of the "vanilla" ish ones are a bit underwhelming ngl) or the prospect of more threads being added for magical armors...

there's a pinned FAQ, and you don't need the altar to progress. Just right click the staff anywhere and it should spawn the boss

You might also want to redo the whole boss fight and demon dimension. It's rather lacking in mechanics and the lava dumping was unfair as it requires no vision, and all the demons are swarming you at all times making an arena equally unlikely.
depends on the ritual. But in general:
- put down ritual braizer
- click the tablet on the braizer to start
- with an empty hand, click on the flaming braizer to start
Between 2 and 3 there are sometimes extra steps you can do. And some rituals take source in jars nearby.
Like, ritual of awakening normally converts an adjacent archwood tree into weld walker or one nearby budding amethyst into an amethyst golem.
But you can click book-and-quills on the ritual after step 2 to have the ritual make bookwyrm charms instead.
And the scry ritual also takes some kind of ore block after step 2 to tell which ore to scry for.
And an optional manipulation(?) essence to greatly amplify the duration of the x-ray effect.
well im trying to make the ritual of alchemy so i place the brazier and i made the chalk runes exactly as the book said and activated it but it just keeps being activated and nothing happens

If I remember correctly (and that’s a big if), i think there was a ritual you did in the dimension that you wanted to “mark” that gave you a …..crystal? Maybe? And then you could use that.
I think you just craft the crystal, then right click in the desired dimension to set the target

hey so I've been playing the mod for a bit and just found a shard for the frame, but I have absolutely no clue where to get the frame or how to use the shard on it since i'm sped, nor what it does anyway and I wouldve consulted the wiki but it just says its achievement locked so uhhh, could somebody please help me 🙏🏾

anyway, there's a structure in the demon realm that has a 50% chance of having a "frame" for the mirror (looks like an end portal for now), and a 50% chance of having a curse cauldron (other feature I randomly added for some reason)
Omega is like 3 magic mod idea prototypes all hiding inside an ars addon which otherwise just adds more extreme versions of existing features, plus a bunch of stuff to control your spells better that should've been their own utility addon

Trying to make enchanted god apples with a wand and all I get are tombstone soulbound enchants, I looked in this discord and saw that it was fixed in 2023 but I just ran into this issue again
