haha! I hear ya. It's been almost 4 years for me, and I'm still learning!

When you're battling Ulrik, I've noticed that tiles are more effective on him than attacks from your heroes. They miss very frequently on him because of his "block" skill.

So, I try to bring my own defense debuff hero -- like my own Ulrik or Ephraim -- and then debuff him after he debuffs me and I heal from it with Fox or whatever.

Often, if I hit another character with a strong hitter like Scarlett or Obsidian, I can knock out the enemy Ulrik while the opposing team is still connected with sharing damage.

That way I avoid Ulrik's block ability.

They don't even have to be 'rare' designs. Just any designs help increase the odds of a decent weapon.

I don't know that one is better than the other. Chips are easier because each one is a little cheaper, but there are more of them. Modules are more expensive individually, but each one increases your power a little bit more than individual chips do.

So, i dunno. I started with chips first.

But that was me.

Other people make an argument for leveling up gear first, despite their expense, and the argument is very sound.

But, in the end, everything has to get leveled up, so the best course of action, imo, is to just pick a starting point and run with it! 😄

Nice! That's fantastic! The great thing about gear -- which is the argument some people make -- is that when you level up gear, you're leveling up the attack/defense of all your troops, as opposed to chips and modules which only apply to the one troop each is associated with.

There is an event called ruins treasury. You use AP to gather tickets. Then you trade those tickets for shovels

then you go onto the second page, where you have a pyramid style reward system. You choose all rewards and the top reward is usually a hq skin/ ambiance or now march

of course it takes a lot of shovels to play this lottery and get to the top:

It takes roughly (on average, there are always extremes), between 150-250 for march skins, 250-400 shovels for a hq skin and 300-550 for an ambiance

those are my personal experiences taking part in several shovel events

My alliance has been lucky with 7-9 hours after VC start with Asia heavy states. I usually go at start and get good kill points. They someone end up with points and rss.
