you set up some line in the middle but with one small opening, basically, most shape can fit there and cause the line to be deleted, which gives you a lot of open space to work with. however, when PnS tries to rig it, it finds you are already in a messy situation and and shape it throws at you won’t fit very well, so it just gives you random stuffs instead of targeted bad shapes.

i will take a screenshot next time i play

haven’t gone that far yet but this illustrates the idea. the vertical line may seem to be badly positioned causing a lot of complex shapes to not fit in the empty spaces around it. but it can be easily removed, and when it is removed, you got a whole lot of open space to work with.
