It's better to research on research and build day during off week since it's the speed ups that count, not the finishing of a build or research. And build and research break looses are a bunch of hooey. It takes too many speed ups to complete the BL. I had 59 days on a research, did 30 days of speed ups and still didn't complete the phases. Unless you can double dip for something like showdown, they aren't worth all the speed ups needed.
