- Core Gameplay & Pacing
I believe the 30 minute window for Volcano mines is actually the perfect amount of time. The pace for this is much faster than Nuka so the window works quite well. I believe the efficiency of the 1-3 mines was good, but I think the benefits for opening them could scale for harder veins. Possibly an extra benefit for taking them from someone as well, besides the ore received.
I actually quite prefer this gameplay to Nuka, though I think it could benefit from the tiers that Nuka has, since larger accounts can endlessly attack on here with the troop recovery. The speed and pace of this is much more fun that sitting around for several minutes most times waiting for nuka boxes or nuka mining to finish. The appearing volcanoes also are a great rush of speed to grab, so it's an exciting 30 minute event, which is quite different than a lot of others these days.
- Combat Mechanics & Battlefield Skills
I think the mine constant penalty should be lessened, especially if accounts of all sizes can be playing in the same space. There isn't really a finesse to the event if you can have HQ40s clearing out HQ24 and then the 24's have lowered stats.
The distribution and respawn of patrol units was my least favorite part of this event. I think they need to be adjusted to maybe allow 2 or 3 people (or more) to hit them to collect. Everyone rushing to grab them early one was a pain and really limited it. Quicker respawns or just static points (even with a lower reward to offset) would be a much more balanced version I believe.
I think battlefield skills were useful, but didn't provide any true benefit if you bumped up against larger accounts that had just been going for ore. I think the possibility to unlock skills at time frames would be an interesting add (so right before outburst veins possibly a skill aimed at that, etc.).
The outburst veins were the most fun part of this event. The rush to gather, grab, and keep those was the most fun out of anything in the event. I think maybe a few less, but another round of them would be great, driving people to compete for the mines more than just grab what they can. It's very hard right now to steal a mine from someone depending on the distance.
The relocates I think were fine, I figured out how to use them on the second or third time for best use, so I think that's a growing learning curve there, but a great way to play, by competing on the move versus just sit and gather.

Rewards
I'd like to see an achievement possibly added for Volcano Mines itself, but for the start of the event I believe the rewards are good. I think with both Nuka and this, the top 3 or so could earn something more fun, like a specific perfect frag to use for S1, S3, or restricted heroes that is a real benefit to playing it.

Interface
The screen interface is a bit over cluttered. It's hard to manage 6 marches, have it spill over on the skills portion, and still be able to get to things quickly. The markers for the actual veins could be in bigger text to make reading it easier.
The clock icon looks a bit more like a curio token than a clock depending, so that could be adjusted. The counter for ore is actually quite useful and in a good spot.
I think the skills and boost part could be moved to the right side of the screen to allow marches to cascade down the left side easier.
The actual actions part of the event worked well for me. I'd like to possibly see the ability to use a free march to grab hammers and not just the one spare march. The free relocate could also be accessed easier when moving around the map vs the interface it has to click and then drag.
Overall, I think it was quite a fun new event, and something I'd like to play more often. I think a few changes can optimize it to make it one of the best events since it can be an action packed one versus the more stagnant gameplay we get sometimes. I hope we can get this more often than just rotating with Nuka though.
