We have 8 adults and 14 kittens, 5 of which are less than 8 weeks old at the moment. We rescue local adults and babies who have been abandoned or need help. Our local shelters and other rescues are overloaded and overcrowded and we're trying to help and do what we can but it's SO expensive now to do anything! It's getting almost impossible to secure any kind of funding to care for them, especially for vet care. We normally use one of the universities veterinary schools to help our sick ones but they have raised pricing even for rescues so that it's hard to get them help. And we need the help desperately, but what can you do? You can't make them lower their prices unfortunately. It's so sad that people trying to help people or animals run into so many funding problems. You'd think local governments and activist groups would help more with care than research, but they have tons of funding for research grants to "look into the problems" but almost none for Actual help. It's just sad. 😭

I have 2 cats that are mine (spoiled indoor cats), and I have 5 hobo cats. 7 were living outside when I moved here. I got 2 homes. They all stay in the barn/shed with our pony now

Ours all stay indoors. There's still many feral strays around that will attack and kill all the little ones and attack the males especially, so we keep them all indoors and well cared for. We have a very sick female calico at the moment as well that we're keeping isolated from the others and having to feed her Pedialyte with a dropper. Trying to keep her alive until we can get help to get her to the vet. I'm hoping desperately we get more funds or one of the local vets agrees to help for a reduced fee or free, but so many in this area are just all about the money and less about the help.

We're hoping to hear something by tomorrow; I'm praying anyway 🙏

She's such a sweetheart too.

Almost all of them are extremely lovey. I think most were put out by people who couldn't care for them. All but 2 really affectionate to people, and the 2 younger ones that are more feral are starting to become little love bugs now too lol
