"Please note that this is an Alpha version, so it’s very possible that you experience crashes or other issues. Please report them either directly through Google Play or in the Discord so I can fix them in time." Dang, they are making you pay for forced labour
that's a sale, with obligation with responsibilities, you can ask for refund if you don't like it
Well, google policies says you get what you paid for
And you paid for alpha release
Just as much as a early access game is a obligation with responsibilities
It doesn't always end well
^
I'm gonna stick with my opinion and you keep yours, fair?
What is so wrong with asking for donations? Genuinely curious on the hate towards donations
Oh you can stay with your opinion, im just stating that it's objectively wrong in case someone in the future reads this
And that's a fact, gn all
Like idk what y’all think a donation means but I see it as giving money for the sole purpose of supporting a project etc. and not expecting any product or service in return
I have nothing against donations if the project is truly a community project, open source
How does being open or closed source have any bearing on donations being okay or not
I’d much rather try a piece of software for free, regardless of if it’s open or closed source, and then donate if I end up liking the product
As opposed to buying a piece of crap
Nah you don’t understand it has to be open source otherwise I can’t put my full sail university degree to good use 💔💔
Open source software is cool yeah
But there’s a reason people choose to go the closed source route
I have nothing against closed source products, but do it like this
make it a sale, not donation to access
thing here is that this is donating and access is a perk you get for supporting the project early
you aren’t paying for the alpha, you’re paying to support and the alpha is a bonus
on release it will be on the play store and will be a normal purchase
How come? They’re openly saying it will be free when it’s ready
I thought this was the game with the dots
The rhythm game
But I just looked it up, that’s “osu”
I’m just dumb
iisu's discord has reopened invites, if anyone wants to join and keep up with the server
oh right links are blocked
interesting
Thankss
yeah i dont mind joining
for now the chat is not available atm but tbf im looking foward

iisu's new website launched
and they have eradicated the $5 pro version and the project is going fully free for everyone (https://iisu.network/news/iisu-remains-free)
Cool and good
The current update is very usable after set up. Highly reccomend giving it a shot for dual screen devices.
Is iiSU dual screen only?
it works(?) on single screens
obv the entire thing doesn't quite work yet but the idea is working on single screens when its done
i personally will not be supporting iISU or anyone that is related to Usagishade.
mood honestly
considering they've kept people on staff who directed harassment at people, i'm not super comfortable with supporting the team
sucks because i like hueso's work quite a bit
cocoon exists and i'm surprised people aren't just opting for that
i am! it's my launcher of choice, excited for 2.0 :D
console launcher is also a good pick too
even if i think that cocoon is better in a lot of ways
it'll definitely be what i go with once my thor ships
time tracking + discord rich presence + gamehub lite is perfect
Out of curiosity… if I for example worked at Apple once upon a time, and you hated Steve Jobs for the same reasons, would you not support my work if I left the company?
Or is it more about the fact that people stayed working on the project
Now to be clear I don’t work on iiSU or anything in the emulation space, I’m just a curious cat a
I think it's mainly because they stayed on the project, even the ones not at fault
And it's understandable, they want their project to be successful, but at some point they should've just started something different
i don't think that analogy works when usagishade is a bigot and Did Worse Things To Minors and it's specifically lack of interest in supporting the people who defended him and stuck around to keep working on iiSU
I think Legboot answered the question, it's about staying on the project. You (Mary) somewhat answered the same. Thanks, I really was just curious what would be the reason now to openly going against a developer that didn't do anything wrong other than wrong place wrong time
personally, my main issues lie with leonie remaining on staff after she directed harassment at people during the initial stuff with usagishade. it shows a history of the staff ignoring bad actors and only doing something when there's enough backlash
also, i personally think that the staff allowed a lot of really horrible anti-lgbt sentiment to brew during the usagishade stuff
just all round not fond
i think also the fact that anybody using iiSU is entrusting their devices with software from people who've already handled a lot so poorly is also at least worth an eyebrow raise, it's not like software like this doesn't sometimes have issues
ex. that one shader program from a few years back or that one gmod workshop plugin that both gave computer viruses randomly with a malicious uploaded build
i would rather put my trust into other reputable developers who haven't had any issues with my files and their program, and it's kinda easy to when everything else is miles more feature complete than iisu's current builds (cocoon has so much good support...)
and that's before factoring in the moral standpoint of the team having a lot of issues even beyond usagi, like what lynn said
I gotta check out cocoon
looked up cocoon and half the image results are someone changing all the wallpapers to be scott the woz
instant download needless to say
BASED
looks like I have a ton of research to do
The Cocoon Shell team is proud to present our countless hours of work! Cocoon Shell is a game launcher (sometimes called a frontend). We aim to have best in class dual screen support, a unique single screen experience, tons of customization, and so much more! This is just the beginning, we'll be adding more features down the road!
my goats...
Has anyone tried this on an RP5? I’ve been trying to find out and see but haven’t found much
