Weight and texture feels better than any sub-$100 device I've owned. I'll try out the d pad and buttons later! I hope this gets a second look from reviewers.

I love how weighty it feels. My biggest criticism of budget devices is that they feel like toys due to a bit of hollowness. This feels very solid.

Essentially these are the exact same chips but differ in network configuration protocols and capabilities, g90t has potential for 4g mobile wheras the mt8185v is designed for devices which dont use that and only require wifi.

the processing cores are identical and should have no difference, strange that its not been announced - however this is the better choice for these devices as they dont take sim cards so the 4g network capability would be wasted

on the other hand the internal core identifier for the G90T should be MT6785 not 8185

Ive found this to be a common thing with mediatek processors - listed same core under multiple variants with slight differences that from a consumer end has no effect. Trouble is when it works nobody notices and then when someone has an issue they "negative" or "problematic" info gets recorded and then this gets taken out of context.

I’d actually recommend checking yours on whatever Android equivalent to cpu-Z is the most trustworthy, just to make sure it’s actually that chipset and not the G90T anyways.

They could also just as easily be using the internal production name for the chipset, like how the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is known as the Qualcomm-sm8550.

So i got a pocket air mini and i love it.
But it restarts. Constantly every like 5 minutes i look over to it and its restarting.
Sometimes it doesnt even fully restart before it restarts again
I tried everything: resetting it thru the settings, resetting it thru the recovery mode, wiping the emmc thru the recovery mode, reseating the connections on the motherboard
I cant find a single person online who has this problem so if anyone has an idea that doesnt include me sending it back please help me out.

Yeah, there’s pretty much no need for a handheld from them at this particular point beyond the fact that they’re budget stuff is cheap linux, and even then Mangmi Air X is already beating them at that with the Rocknix support (as well as any other Linux cfw that’s planning on going into supporting the chipset).

I am thinking more of stuff like the OTA update they did for the konkr pocket that broke sound output, or some previous issue with the controls for some previous x86 devices that ended up needing a firmware update and stuff. No, but I dont think its actually on screen on your device, they preapplied the screen protector, probably you can remove them easily using plastic spudge

Caps don't affect circularity, if anything it might decrease if the larger cap leads to the cap hitting the edge earlier and not being to extend to full range.

But I think they might have used some older panels, so perhaps it varies between devices, the ghosting is actually very similar to the cheap 4" 768p panels used by "Game Consoie"

Try changing the EE cycle skip to max underclock if using nethersx2 - this made the game change from running about 60% speed to between 93-97 on average for me

It might be worth finding/creating a sheet for this device/similar to compile best settings etc for some games because the variances in some posts are quite significant and its often single changes that make the difference that people know from other devices

It's not as heavy as the Beetle and there is no problem with fmv.

But if you want a more original experience, i.e., if you don't need various graphical enhancements, then the super lightweight pcsx rearmed core is the way to go.

Huh, I’d guess it might be thermal throttling, but given it’s on balanced mode (and this is also assuming the fps drop you’re talking about isn’t consistent or particularly long lasting), that wouldn’t make sense in the first place as, at least on my end, it never gets hot on balanced (plus even if it was thermal throttling for your particular unit, that would result in it being a way more consistent fps drop that would last until you actually turned the device off to let it cool down, it wouldn’t just be an occasional semi-random thing).
