Spent a bit more time fiddling around with ps2 and gcn. I think this is a pretty great device for the price. I would say it does feel a little cramped after extended play time

Main gripe so far is the placement of the start/select buttons vs the aya/home buttons. Feel they should be the other way around

I'm wondering the same thing and considering cancelling my pre-order and getting the rg476h. From what I can see, the rg476h has a better chip, 8GB RAM vs 3GB, larger screen, 120Hz refresh rate (although does it really matter for retro games?) and it's only around $50 AUD more (~$35 USD) here.

I'm in AU so shipping and taxes will be different, but this is what I have:

1. Ayaneo Pocket AIR Mini: 628HKD plus 183HKD shipping (according to comments in the Indigogo campaign). That's about $160 AUD. Not sure if they'll add 10% GST (sales tax) since it's not clear, but even if not, with currency conversion fee, let's say** $165 AUD**

2. Anbernic RG476H: Through AliExpress with 2 coupons, comes to $210 AUD

So a $45 AUD difference, which is about $30 USD.

I think I'm going to cancel the Ayaneo and just get the RG476H.

Although looking at the Indigogo... it's 4,800% funded, which looks impressive. But the goal was under $10K AUD (so ~$6,500). The total amount they got is about $310,000, which seems low if you consider the cost of R&D, manufacturing, marketing, etc. plus profit margins.

I picked up the RG76h last week. It feels really premium compared to previous Anbernic devices and comparable to the original Pocket Air so I'm expecting it compete well with the Mini in that regard. I'm in the UK so the price difference was £70 vs £120 for me. Is it £50 better? If you aren't going to use BFI/CRT Beam then no, if you are then maybe. At a $30 difference it would be a no-brainer for me to get the RG476h though.

I'm still going to keep my Mini pre-order since I got the glitch pricing on the case and screen protector and eBay is strong for these things in the UK, so I won't lose money selling it. It would have to really blow me away to keep it over the Anbernic though.

To be fair, I cancelled weeks ago before the indiegogo ended and they put it on their site.

The reason wasn’t to get it faster. It was because the 11/11 sale dropped the price of the RG476H to be only $30 more instead of the usual $100. For that difference I preferred a bigger screen and faster processor. The timeline was just a bonus.

The only reason I backed the campaign was because I wanted a 4:3 device and the price was right. Then the Anbernic got to a comparable price so I pulled the trigger. I’m sure I’m not the only one.

Also, I still don’t know if they’re going to add sales tax to Australian orders. I asked and never got a reply. If they do, the price would increase $10-15.

The other issue I have was extending their Indiegogo sales and pricing to the website. Essentially there were no perks for early supporters of their product. This is my first Ayaneo and maybe my last depending on how things pan out for their production for Indiegogo supporters

I'm waiting for something that increases the height a bit more without being a 1:1. Maybe around 4.4 to 4.5 inch.

Basically, because I already have the RG40XXH it's not that much of an improvement for being able to pivot on dual analogs. It's still a far shot from being able to grip properly with my pinky fingers, but a solid ring finger grip would change everything.

It's definitely better than RG40XXH, but just not worth the upgrade for me yet.

For myself, I would preferred the same bezels, just give me more height. I'll probably have to get the next 1:1 device that does it all right. But 4 inch for that makes normal 4:3 a bit small. So it would need to be a bit larger anyways.

I ran into a wall with Portmaster because a lot of the games that I want to play use lots of hot keys with R1 that are too difficult to do on the RG40XXH for any length of time. I was thinking that it would be pretty great to be able to have 4 to 6 buttons where the right analog pad is. That's probably pretty niche, but it would be kind of incredible.

It's a totally weirdo thing, but it would have it's uses. Probably MagicX is the only company bold enough to try something like that.

Yeah, I would buy this in a heartbeat if I were making a decision now for a smaller device. But I think that it doesn't give enough more than what I can already do. So I'll probably be looking at the Magmi because there is some hope of being able to play games that I can't really now for ergonomic reasons. I’m guessing the indiegogo campaign is just a hypecycle. Lower price and social experience to give the device a bit of a boost before the launch. They would have made 3-5000 units with or without the indiegogo campaign. This is not their first rodeo and thus the indiegogo campaign had little to do with actual funding of the product and manufacturing.

People who don’t pay shipping probably get their money sent back the same way it came in and their device will be sold through the various stores ayn utilise

Actually, it has nothing to do with Nancheng, it's just a transit warehouse.
It's more related to the destination, or rather, the flights to the destination.
For example, there are daily flights from China to the United States, so packages going to the US might leave Nancheng in one or two days.
However, there might be very few flights to Africa, for example, only one flight every two weeks. In that case, these packages would have to wait in Nancheng for two weeks (with no tracking updates).

This theory fails when I just bought both Odin and Pocket to Italy: the Odin reached Nancheng the day after Pocket but deparded with plane today. The Pocket is still there. It's very very weird

This could involve something else, such as discrepancies between the product data provided by the seller (especially weight/size) and the measurements taken by the carrier, requiring the carrier to confirm with the seller before proceeding further.
For example, I often send TMR joystick replacements, sometimes I provide 0.1g data, but due to the relatively large volume of the product, the carrier uses the volume pricing method, which exceeds the agreed 50% difference.
Then 4PX will send me a message to confirm whether it complies with the data they measured.
If I don't reply in time, 4PX will keep the package on hold.

There are also all kinds of weird situations, such as the product was with battery and I accidentally choose a non-battery shipping method, and they also need my reply on how to handle this.

When on the website such as 17track, the user sees that the package has been in the warehouse and has not been updated.
