just checked, the games i want to play have around 40-60 fps on the t820 chipset. What can I expect from the airx?

Just a rough guide antutu benchmark is 77 percent better than S662. Therefore, unless you set some ee cycle and etc. The games you play on t820 may not perform as well on s662 device air x.

T820 chipset has more playable ps2 compare to s662 chipset.

Maybe? I'm not up on ps2 emulation, but I used to develop ps2 games 20+ years ago and all the studios maxxed out the hardware because optimization was expensive in developer time. Nobody was leaving cycles on the table.

The worst ones. I worked for Sony to bring their first-party sports games online using the Ethernet adapter add-on. I'm credited on 4 games: NFL Game day, NCAA Game breaker, and the basketball ones.

A guy in my studio got this cool idea for a RPG on PC but they were like, "what? We do sports games on consoles" so he left, started his own studio and wrote Everquest.

Adding online play to an offline game was wild. It worked by syncing controller inputs because we didn't have much bandwidth. No keyframes so if you desynced you're fucked the whole game. So every frame would only render if you got the other players input. We were always chasing down weird sources of randomness that would desync.

I once got a bug assigned to me from testing about a crash if you hit a button twice in one frame... I was like... "Uh, thats impossible to hit the buttons 120 times a second."

They sent out this kid from testing to my desk and he picked up the controller and just smoked the buttons and triggered the bug. Holy shit.

Madden 08 also available on windows and gc.
As GC use dolphin emulator that allow custom drivers. ( plus various fork like mmjr2)
Higher chance that Madden 08 GC on Air X maybe playable.
Another one is to try the PC version Madden 08 PC using winlator maybe playable.
So try GC or winlator version.

But winlator setup can be very tedious. For me, i will try GC version first before attempt PC.
just for info, in Mangmi discord server, Simpson hit and run PC look playable running winlator, PES2013 ( 2012 windows games) also playable in winlator.
One even attempt at Fallout 3 !!? at it seem acceptable thru winlator. Why it works, because winlator allow custom turnips which help s662 to perform abit better.

Dpad is a bit strange. The texture is weird and it's a little stiffer than I'd want. Funny enough, the stiffness actually counteracts the texture though, because it requires more force to press

I actually kinda like the slickness of the D-pad, not gonna lie. I didn't think I would, but I got used to it very fast.

And despite having a G2, and it technically being a better product in basically every metric...I still find myself using the Mangmi more. I just like the way it feels in my hand more. I prefer the feel of the d-pad, and I actually kinda like the slightly cheaper feel to it. I'm afraid I'm gonna break the G2; the Mangmi feels like it's meant to be played/abused lol

I genuinely love that I don't need a freaking grip for it. It's got enough badonk to make it comfy to use, but it doesn't get in the way. It's rounded comfortably, but it's still got a kind of boxy feel that's pleasantly nostalgic. The d-pad is a little big larger, the analog stick a bit more inset. I'm sure the G2's screen has mad bezel beneath the glass front, which is why the controls seem so cramped along the edges. I swear to god, Retroid products are not designed with human hands in mind.

Every Retroid product I've ever used, aside from the Flip 2 (somehow) has needed a grip for me to use for longer than like 15 minutes tops. Their devices are fantastic, but I just can't ever seem to use them for long.

I'm pretty surprised by Winlator performance on this device via Gamehub Lite. So far, I've gotten Balatro and Shovel Knight; Treasure Trove to run pretty smoothly. I currently have the device on stock os and with performance mode on

I hope GammaOS will improve performance even more once the update for the third revision comes out

Quick question for someone with an Air X. How is the analogue trigger range and deadzones on your unit? I am thinking of getting one for my son but have heard the triggers are not well calibrated.

Triggers are fine on both units I got, MQ66 as well as MQ65. Feels like there are no deadzones by default and they register from the very start and until they reach maximum at about 90-95% pressed for me. Also you can (re-)calibrate them as well as globally set custom deadzones, thresholds and trigger type via the extensive Ayaneo-style settings menu.
I wouldn't worry much about the trigger functionality- it sounds like this might've been simple miscalibration or some kind of other software issue.
But I do want to mention that it might be worth considering getting the retro color model over the black and white (even if those would be preferred otherwise) just because there have been lots of issues with stiff/sticking buttons on the black (and white) models due to the different plastic composition/finish compared to the bare retro colored plastic.

So far I've been pretty impressed with the system. Hardware is solid for the price. PSP, N64 and Dreamcast all have worked wonderfully. I'll admit that I truly didn't think I'd care for the glossy dpad but it's not that bad at all after using it for a little bit.
