Never played Space Crusade, unfortunately… but I did play Space Marine (Epic, back when it didn't have a generic name 😄 ) a lot.
If you know (and enjoy) Space Hulk, I heartily recommend Death Angel, a card game where you roam corridor and kill Genestealers.

I think I got one of the first deliveries of the consumer non YT production units. I ordered it a couple of weeks ago. It got delivered earlier today. Been playing with this the entire day.
It came with a really nice case and a good quality screen protector.

The Device is Great. Feels really Ergonomic and nice to hold in the hand. I like the gloss on the DPad and Face Buttons. The texture is nice. The sticks are fine as well. The screen is amazing with really high PPI.
I’m mostly playing GBA and WonderSwan games on this. I use other devices for PSP.

The game in the pic is MegaMan EXE WS. It’s a decent game on the WonderSwan.

It’s a really good device for $90 shipped.

A couple of pictures for those of you that’s waiting. It’s a great deal if you got it at the early price of 75$ with the case. The one thing I have to say about the case is perhaps not slotting it into the elastic band. The case is just big enough to hold the device and doing so make it hard to remove and the top shoulder buttons gets pressed down when the device sits all the way down into the case.

Seemed to have loosen up a bit so now it doesn’t press down on the shoulder buttons. But still, it’s hard to take out if you strap it down sliding it into the elastic strap. I guess it better than having the device fall out if you forget to closed the zipper.

Make sure it's formatted to exFat. It probably will be by default.

If you have an Android device already, put the microSD card in it. If it prompts you to set it up, make sure to choose "portable storage". Either way, turn your Android device off and take the card out, then view its contents on a PC/laptop. You should see it's created all the standard Android folders.

You can then create yourself an Emulation folder and copy all your files onto it in readiness for the Mangmi

The only thing I can think of that would be the reason for this happening even with Gamma’s stock firmware is that they’re using more than 1 type of screen that has the exact same specs but is just barely different enough to require a different screen driver (in which Gamma’s being different means his stock firmware would also be different).

If that is the case for mine (and not some different reason that would be hopefully less messy to deal with), I’m screwed until someone else with the same screen as mine dumps their firmware so that Gamma can make a version with support for my screen.

0. Get a working USB cable and plug into a USB 2 port.
1. Reboot Windows with driver enforcement disabled.
2. Start QFIL as admin.
3. Configure QFIL as per the GammaOS instructions page.

5. Press Volume Up + Volume Down and connect the USB cable.
6. Select the port in QFIL.
7. Make sure QFIL the config is exactly the same as on the web page.

Unfortunately, I managed to flash it on another PC that I don't use very often. This one is obviously messed up with drivers.
Now even the console is messed up and I can put it in its nice case.

Anyways, Ikki I’ll just note that these types of issues usually are from the screen itself being different enough to require a different screen driver, and frankly the fact it’s not just mine does add evidence to this actually being the case after all.

So good news is that there’s now at least more evidence for this issue being something that can be fixed just via installing a firmware that uses the right screen driver.

Bad news is that we’d both have to wait until Gamma can get his hands on those drivers to have a version of GammaOS that works, most likely just from one of us getting a firmware image from Mangmi that does work properly on our specific Air X when flashed, and then sending it to Gamma.

Some thoughts so far. Overall good feeling in hand, good screen and excellent value. My unit has minor imperfections on left trigger making the gap larger. The SD662 is old technology. So it generates more heat and is less efficient than my other android device.

I really don't like the fan noise so I try my best not to use it. Might shorten the device lifespan but oh wells...

Can someone confirm tested and working onscreen keymapper for GammaOS Next, please? On Panda, controls and touchscreen freezing, needs restart console. On Mantis, can't connect it to pc for activation, but adb and drivers working fine. Hey I flashed GammaOS Next onto my device, but found that the screen wasn't responding to touch input anymore. I can confirm that the touchscreen was working out of the box.

I went back to stock to see if it was just a GammaOS problem, but touch doesn't seem to work with the stock firmware either. Any ideas on a fix?

As much as I like the Mangmi overall, I don't enjoy the d-pad. I think the slick pad combined with a overly stiff membrane make uncomfortable to use. Need to see if I can find a better, compatible membrane.

Now I am trying to set up cheats on PPSSPP and I cannot get it to work for the life of me. The RPG2 feels premium as hell, and I LOVE the quality of the screen/speakers and all, but even with the grip, it's just...not that comfortable for me to use.

Pound for pound, I feel like the RP4 was more comfy, especially with a grip. It cramped the controls a bit too much to keep its footprint a similar size, I think.

The Air X is basically everything I wanted from the RP3+ and RP4. (I looooved my RP4, but the screen was the thing about it that bugged me, it just felt kinda small and gimpy compared to what it could do, y'know?)

Also, it is WILD that this thing cost me like $95 shipped to my door, with the pre-order bundle I got (free case and screen protector)

This thing would've cost $175 easy, two or three years ago.

The only thing that makes me kinda sad is that I have to go back to YabaSanshiro for my Sega Saturn, but honestly, the fact that I can upscale the graphics to 1080p with basically zero slowdown is kinda cool in its own right.

(God I want a Saturn emulator that's both accurate AND allows graphics upscaling, so so much.)

Honestly, I would check if those games run well on the T820 chipset. If they run poorly on there, they'll run poorly on this. (The T820 is a generally stronger chipset, though not by that much, and has been tested to death from various Anbernic devices.)

solving the bootloader means less-talented coders like me can get it over the finish line. Mere mortals can rotate the screen and massage dtb's and compile kernel module drivers etc
