We can only hope
Okay mines sitting in the mailbox for when I get home. Do we have any official custom firmware support for the device yet?
no, not yet, be patient, things take time
or just send the dev some devices, that works too
Rocknix and Knulli right now
Figured as much, but wanted to ask anyways. Thank you both
Okay my first impression is far more positive than I expected. The screen on this thing is noticeably better than the 35xxsp
Because we are decompressing a relatively large compressed file here, it will take a long time. I will add more detailed progress prompts in the next version
So…. Did they have tons of 3.5” laminate and didn’t want to buy 3.4” for their new screens so they laminated it to the 3.4”?

i think the panel has a bit hanging off the long side, that if they folded would have made the display half of the flip too thick.
@vital minnow @vital minnow
What
anybody already tried to install muOS or Knulli? or what is currently the best fit cfw? and what built to download as there is no official RG34XX SP support yet - RG34XX or RG35XX SP images?
Rg34xx image
Rocknix has a 34xxSP version right now
haven't heard about rocknix so far. Can you recommend it? missing the latest developments, still have the OG 35xx and the 353v with garlicOS and arkOS, respectively.
Rocknix is good and mature
It’s a continuation of old jelOS
Real similar to Knulli too
Heck my Knulli card from my 34xx worked in rocknix
Ah great. And also lid close does work with rocknix? Always was in between Arkos and jelos back then.
How does it work when you close the lid on stock?

Chapte...
Yooo that intro is smoooth
Are all his vids like that?
Holy shit they are
I'm subbing just for that
yeah it's cute
Figured I'd ask here since it's somewhat relevant
How difficult/impossible is it to swap a device's dome switches for conductive rubber and vice versa?
Honestly I'm mainly asking because I have plans to mod a controller lol
Pretty damn hard, apparently
Magnet
Magnet in the lid flips a switch on the body when you close it
But what does software do then?
software knows to save state and then shut the device down after X amount of time
so then when you have load state on power on turned on, it'll load state whatever you just quick saved
How long is X?
it's customizable. I think in increments of 30s?
Thx
I think it requires actually changing the PCB
My RG34XXSP came with a blue SD card but it's unbranded :(
They haven't been kioxia for awhile
These blue ones do seem a bit more durable than th shitty black ones tho
Weird, the 34XX still had regular blue Kioxia cards. Shame that they stopped including decent cards
Yup, this is the kicker
just cuz its blue doesnt mean its kioxia, take it out and lok to see if it says it 😄
There were some people modding 35xxSP with better dome switches though
I don't think those were actually dome switches?
I thought they just put tape on the existing ones to make them quieter
https://www.reddit.com/r/SBCGaming/comments/1icmmwd/modding_buttons_on_the_rg35xxsp_swapping_tactile/ I think they really changed the switches 😄
"These switches require about 40% less force than the originals. They are all around 100gf. The original shoulder switches were definitely C&K PTS645VM39-2 LFS (160gf). The other switches were from the same Alps series as their replacements (SKRR and SKQG). I’m guessing they were also 160gf models."
Hmm...
I'm not sure then
Maybe a new PCB is required for changing what type of connection it uses, but say you replace conductive rubber with conductive rubber, it shouldn't be necessary?
there are different types of dome switches, some much lighter to press like on Miyoo Flip and some super hard like on Anbernic devices 😄
But they're still dome switches
these are the ones he recommends btw: https://tech.alpsalpine.com/e/products/detail/SKRRAAE010/
SKRR Series SKRRAAE010 Operation feeling : Sharp feeling ・ Mount type : Surface mount ・ Dimensions (W×D×H) : 7.5×7.0×0.6mm ・ Features : Low-profile, Long life
It's a much smaller change
It is smaller change than dome to conductive membrane for sure, but I wouldn't say much smaller, 40% lighter to press and quieter sounds to be quite a big change
I saw this
Which evidently didn't change the PCB
I actually own a Vader 3 Pro, and the face buttons are very like that
I just wish the guy in the above Reddit post actually gave a step-by-step guide in text
Because I don't understand what he did with some of the steps
no step to step ever, you either know how to micro solder or you don't

if you want it. learn to solder, you understand the pictures right away
I hear people complaint about the switches all the time, it takes less than 10 minutes to switch to something else and cost less then $1
just learn how to solder, it's a skill can serves you a life time
I know, it does say Kioxia
Mine arrives today 🥳
Just in time, too
Since I have surgery tomorrow and will be out of commission for a while
Yea i think mine is coming tomorrow
Hopefully we get some black buttons on etsy and someone makes thumstick covers/caps for those sticks im never going to use
w00t, mine was estimated for Thursday but will be here tomorrow.
I think the SP only having one open position will be enough to make me pick it over the Miyoo Flip
Delivered! 🎉
First impressions?
Feels better in hands than miyoo flip, and hinge here is perfect! 💯
How are the buttons?
I just got my new switches today so ill update yall after i do this mod
Are you doing it in this?
Everything is better than Miyoo Flip!
Even a 💩 feels better in hands than the Miyoo Flop!
creeeaaaaak
Whooooa those triggers sounds loud af
lower the video volume
Enjoy asmr
I never had the v2 sp* but these sound great
Are the menu buttons using microswitches??
That was my only dislike about the v1 sp
It was a dome switch but way louder and harder to press than abxy
My L2 sticks out more than the rest and is super loud :/
Looks like the post may be off. If you're comfortable with opening it, it's an easy fix
What do I do after opening it?
There are plastic posts that the triggers slot into
It's probably not all the way in there
If you do choose to open it, it'll likely void your chance to return it
Maybe they won't be able to but that's a risk you'd take lol
Make sure you unseat the battery. Maybe watch a video of the original 35xx sp if anything
Any CFW for this yet?
Think I'll probably stick with stock for now then
What’s the benefit over stock?
This is using an old 34xx img no?
portmaster support
no, img uploaded just few hours ago
Oh nice. I wonder if it's just a miskey lol
Is Artbook the only theme on Knulli?
Oh sweet! Do you have a link? I don’t see it on the releases anywhere
it's not public release, sorry
Fair enough! I understand that stuff takes time to develop and test. I’m just hoping we get a full release for gladiator so we don’t have to wait for the next major update
ROCKNIX officially supports the RG34XXSP
I haven't used it myself but I assume the sticks and lid switch are fully working
This is a quick view of Knulli Gladiator cfw running on recently released Anbernic RG34XXSP handheld:)
Knulli for RG34XXSP is still in development and not released for public yet.

@signal axle Trying to mess around with it but the problem remains
You can press the trigger with it opened up, what is different between that trigger and the others?
Does the problem persist if you click directly on the switch versus the actual trigger
Hmm doesn't seem as bad as your original video. Is there plastic at all warped on the trigger? You could just put electric tape on the switch to dampen the noise
Man I all nervous for how loud these buttons are
That indigo looks so good
Thanks a lot @brooksytech, @loki666 and Rocknix Team for adding support of this console 🔥🔥🔥👍

Rocknix!!!!!!
Sticks work, lid switch has no function. Sleep / resume doesn't work well on H700 with mainline Linux so it is disabled in ROCKNIX. The SOC is designed for TV boxes that don't sleep.
Rocknix or Knulli?
Rocknix gang
Still holding out for muos
they're so pretty
is it possible to play Warriors Orochi 2 for psp without going blind and losing every scenario?
Doesn’t stock support lid close and sleep?
Haha might be a little small text wise
Oh sure yes ... BSP kernel hacks, not mainline Linux.
Makes sense
So when does this channel migrate to #1343398958705279016 ?
just got mine
first impressions are great, button feel is improved a lot although the dpad is still a bit heavy and loud, it honestly doesn't look weird to me at all in person
i'll keep stock until knulli is supported, it's become my favorite cfw by far
gotta admit that sticks on an sp don't look weird at all in person even when i was a hater, but they're pretty unusable
Because of location?
yeah
Interesting. They’re fine IMO
for sticks at the bottom, many people use this part of the thumb instead
Mine will be here this morning. Two days earlier than estimated. 🎉
i am also getting mine today
But if you have Stubbs nubz, using this part for sticks will be stimulating the wrong part of your internal organs.
SAME
you know you've been on the internet for a while when you recognize this cat
Haha yep 😂😂😂
honestly i'm only ever gonna play gba on this, so i'm not gonna touch the sticks anyway
Oh wow. This thing makes the Miyoo Flip feel like a prototype.
Buttons and DPad actually feel amazing IMO. Triggers are too clicky though.
Is there any chance I got a refurbished or returned device? The bottom edge has two chips that look like would come from prying it apart…
What would you guys use to dampen the shoulder button noise? I tried masking tape on the 35xxsp but it didn't seem to help much
Have you tried doubling the tape
Huh you know what, I don't think I did
Didn't notice much improvement with 1 layer so I didn't think more would help
I have 0.5mm EVA foam tape on my 35's. Won't do miracles, but muffles it a bit without killing travel and stressing the switches. Heard of micropore tape before, that's probably a good replacement.
You can do double masking tape, or electric tape, I also used a sort of water bandaid that was recommended by a community member here
Any of those should work
Thanks for the suggestions
Oops, sorry, mixed up my tapes. It was the water bandaid that I heard about.
I believe it was actual bandaid, lemme see if I can find the message again.
#🐈│retro-game-corps message
It actually needs like breaking in too, I didn't love how it made my menu buttons feel at first but everything else was pretty much dead silent
Oh dope, might have some of this in the house already
Is this normal play at this seam?
Mine is similar so, yes?
Thank you
That's ANBERNIC quality!
What is the Game Rooms vs RA games?
Is it everything you dreamed of
Yes

34xx sp screen looks the part cant get rid of the purple tint just yet I but will have to adjust some settings. Im using ags001 and scanlines
Lcd3x my beloved
Looks a bit nicer than my SP but the tint needs work
I just feel like how quickly we forget that we really didn't have good 3:2 devices until recently
True
Yeah it should be same res as the hispeedido and funnyplaying screens, just brighter and bigger
34xx and sp are peak
I have a hispeedio and it has a tint that's a little too blue for my tastes I think the 34xx sp panel looks amazing though
Its my second favorite gba machine it blows everything before it out
What CFW works with the lid?
Wait what's the first wtheck
Still remains my rp3, if you have one and put those settings it looks way better. Something about it looks perfect from the color to the pixels
Not an answer I was expecting! Lol
But after some messing around with shaders I can say theyre about the same, I switched to LCDx3 + Scanlines + zfast LCD It looks much better honestly they look on par
that's a strange combo
It is but it looks amazing im very particular about gba I really like the sharp pixel look 😅
I am using rocknix but there's no close to sleep and that isn't great
Got mine, screen is nice and bright, looks great
i just want muos on it
do not like stock
yea im just using the regular 34xx image for now lol
Honestly I can tell when this thing reaches its final level software wise its probably gonna be THE best gba im playing unbound on this thing its very nice. The sticks are a non issue too if anything theyre very helpful rather than harmful 😲
Also the screen is just good
Definitely replacing my 35xx sp for gba
is there any cfw working on this for now?
Officially only rocknix, but there is a knulli alpha build iirc
The muos regular 34xx img works but no lid or stick functionality
Added a layer of kapton tape and used my old grey buttons from the 35xxsp. Should hold me over until I get some black buttons from sakura
that looks sick
Yep been playing mine a lot. I like GBA and it really is perfect for enjoying the games (only have GBA games on there). Sticks have not been bothering me at all, just been ignoring them. Have really been enjoying the screen! I don't use sleep on any handheld so don't miss it at all.
Pancreas health matters
IMO the clam to shut and save state function is game changing and can't wait for it to be introduced on here
Did you compare the buttons? It'd be interesting to know if they're the same.
def seems like the 34xxSP has slightly wider buttons diameter wise
maybe by a millimeter, but the 35xxsp buttons still fit
If I knew you could just use those I would have got the blue 😒
Idk why they picked the worst color combos for these
Thanks. When you switch those again, could you take some pictures for reference?
Theyre also using the 35xxsp v2 button style with the extra ring so you dont poke a hole through the membrane and dome switch
alright I'm sorry this thing is awesome
Hilariously it did not have any gba preloaded on the sd card for my pic
few things to note- build quality/finish seems significantly better than my v1 silver 35xx SP. the triggers are pretty clicky but do not rattle. it is a VERY nice size
looks much better in person like everyone has mentioned
yea theyve added some felt/foam to the power and volume buttons so they dont shake as much since its tighter against the shell. Same with the bumpers and triggers, tho my triggers are still pretty loud
I really like the buttons on here. They're clickier than the Flip, but not nearly as loud as my green v2 SP.
And frankly, I don't mind playing 4:3 on this screen, because it's SUPER bright and vibrant. And it feels better than the 35XXSP.
Though I would still love an actual 4:3 display version of this, just to poop on the Flip, and give people a genuinely good alternative to it.
40sp with that 960x720 screen
I mean, I love playing on the Flip, but now that I have this in my hands, it just makes me want a 4:3 version of this instead. The Flip's build quality is pretty cheap feeling compared to this, tbh
I was pretty hyped for a 40xxsp at first but I realized it's at that awkward size where it's big enough to be not all that pocketable but not big enough for me to be entirely satisfied when at home
I would say the 34XXSP is no clickier than the TrimUI Brick/SP.
If anyone wants that as a reference.
35xxsp pro with 2 sticks, 2gb ram, and 3.5" 960x720 screen 🙏
That would be the dream.
This design with a 3.5" 720p screen, and the world would be its oyster.
do miyoo and anbernic realize that's actually what we want
or are they going to keep pumping out almost good but still not perfect devices to keep us buying the latest thing
Honestly I just need retroid to make a classic sp
I just want a good cheap all rounder that is also pocketable
Which for me means it fits in my pocket without looking like I stuffed an xbox 360 in it
i want the 556 screen in h700
the question is can the H700 run well in higher resolution?
I really think I still prefer the Flip overall. But it just feels so darn cheap in the hands compared to this.
retroids made two clamshells with 16:9 screens and people still seem to like it
It prob wouldn't be the most pocketable device though
again, western audience is tiny compares to china and global south
retroid stuff is beyond niche and nowhere near the number anbernic wishes to sell
I would be in the market for retroid devices if I could afford any of them
realistically all I can afford is some $80 a527 device which will hold me over until gc/ps2 capable chips get a lot cheaper
I should have snapped up an RP2S while it was still available
Well are there any 3.5 inch screens that arent 480p? There's that trimui brick screen but thats 3.2 inches
you can easily check by going to alibaba and search
if it's not there, it's not viable
the cost of engineering a new screen is just too much, most of these small companies are not willing to bear the gamble
off the shelf is preferred
Luckily, MuOS already works on the SP, even if the sticks and lid functionaltiy doesn't.
I'm just using the 34XX flash, and it plays what I want it to play.
Having the sticks would be great, but for now, I'm good with this 👍
I’m a newb, is this how the screen should look on the SP?
The way that it is
Miyoo has a 4:3 screen, SP has a 3:2 screen- so the SP is wider
Meaning 8:7/4:3 content will have pillarboxing as shown in your image
Is there harm in stretching the screen? Assuming o can?
Didn’t realize what everyone was saying about the Miyoo being washed out until I put them beside each other. Sheesh.
Yeah, I just sat the 35 SP, 34 SP and Flip all together, and my god, the 34 SP's screen is soooo bright and colorful.
Like, I know it's not OLED, but it's saturated enough that at a glance, you could be fooled.
I mean, putting the 35 SP and Flip next to each other, they're both around the same. I'd say the Flip's screen has a bit better color balancing, and maybe a tiny bit worse saturation. But they're very similar. The 34's screen spanks them both.
no harm
just don't tell anyone
stretching the screen with systems that are closer to your device's aspect ratio will look a lot better. for example, stretched PSP on the SP would look better than it does on the Flip
some people are picky about how their games look and would not stretch. hence why companies are making devices in different aspect ratios
I made an unofficial RG34XX-SP muOS image that supports the lid switch and analog sticks (with improved cardinal snapping), as well as the full 2GB of RAM.

works awesome, thanks
just wish muos had wake on lid open like stock and knulli
I think it comes at the cost of less efficient sleep
imo it's a good tradeoff
I tried putting on tape but that just stops me from pressing it altogether when the device is closed lol
Tried again, now it clicks but feels like ass
With the tape mod, the button just has a level of stickiness to it that I absolutely hate
Maybe it gets better after the adhesive wears off
huh, then fair i suppose
Had this thing in my pocket all day can confidently say making it gba sized was the right move this thing is just nice 😁
Its basically all the good of the gba with a better screen and sticks
I like it way more than the 35xx sp personally glad I just decided to go for it
This is definitely my take to work handheld
Does this thing ever shut off if I just close the lid?
on muos, you can set a timer so it shuts down safely, i have mine on one hour sleep and then shut down
on stock, i think it just sleeps forever, but you can choose to make it shut down instead
I don't really care one way or the other about the sticks, but it being a tiny bit smaller in all dimensions is nice, the 3:2 display is obviously perfect for gba and the feel of the plastic also seems nicer to me
i used to hate how it looked on pics but it's really neat in person
and i like the little details like how the leds are dimmer now, looks more professionally made
if only start, select, menu and bumpers were soft clicky
Might need to either break them in or use different tape
Did you use masking or electric tape?
Electric tape
LEDs are too dim IMO
It seems to work better now but whenever I pick up the device, the first few presses are a bit dodgy
Only things that could make it better for me would have been all-grey controls (on the indigo model), slightly quieter controls and the higher end 3:2 display from the ayaneo (and eventually magicx), but overall it is a very nice device
yep
never used muOS. here goes nothin
Might want to give masking tape a try if you have the energy to still do all that
I don't think there's any masking tape in the house
Its quiet compared to dpad so its nice having the option
How about closing the lid
it does work just likeon the 35xxsp
Guess I'm switching off rocknix when I get home 😁
yeah, for me the lid really makes the sp models, kinda sucks to not have it
can't confirm the sticks work though, cause honestly i just forget this thing has sticks
left stick seems to do the diagonals okay in the tester, but the right stick was registering as button presses, not tried them in a game yet
muOS is nice
Is this a rhyme or reason to deciding what core to use?
Accuracy
Come games like pokemon stadium need high accuracy to work properly
if a game is struggling, would just choosing a different core maybe help it?
yeah if a game is struggling, just try a different core
some games might struggle with every core tho, I never had much luck getting pokemon snap to run well on this chipset
Is it not worth it to adjust the individual video or audio settings?
you can try with a different video plugin, it might help
should the screen come back on when I open the device?
right now, I close the lid. LED turns off. I open the lid and have to push power to wake up
No
Unless it's just on suspend
using muOS. I have it set to sleep 15min then shut down
yeah it's not. Closing the lid seems to sleep it. Then opening the lid does nothing.
I would just consider it a bug for now
Stock will be the best experience until official releases
I couldn't get Knulli alpha sleep and shut to work properly either
Might be user error tho
I just want MinUI so I don’t have shit to mess with
Is someone confirmed already going to work on that?
I don’t think yet. It works on all the other XX tho
That's cus of our glorious king Shaun
Where is this Shaun and how can we beg for an ETA
More than likely Shaun or anyone else involved does not have this in hand yet. But also, if not Shaun, idk if anyone else is currently interested in making it work on here
What does the Idle Input Display Timeout and Sleep Timeout mean?
think the sleep timeout is how long you can leave it and still have it wake on flip?
Oooh that would make sense
That's intentional
The muOS devs sacrificed that functionality for more efficient sleep
Some part of the system would need to be awake to check the lid sensor which uses power
Thank you for the explanation.
Honestly not a huge problem since it boots pretty quick.
The SD and SDHC memory card is a highly secure stamp-sized flash memory card, which can be used in a variety of digital products: digital music players, cellular phones, handheld PCs, digital cameras, digital video camcorders, smart phones, car navigation systems and electronic books. To support t...
Will this SD card be fine to run the OS, or should i pay a bit more for a faster card?
How do I resume from save state when I launch a game?
Does the Idle Input Sleep Timeout actually do anything then?
dunno
never used it
It's possible the stick dead zones are too low which could cause noise to be registered as a microscopic input
Which would stop it from being idle
Oh wait I figured it out.
Display time out dims the screen.
Sleep time out actually puts it to sleep.
Then that bottom sleep setting decides if there’s a timer between sleep and power off.
Launch RetroArch under apps then go to Settings -> Saving and turn on Auto Save State and Auto Load State
So here screen dims after 30 seconds.
Then it will go to sleep after 2 min.
It will then sleep for 15min before shutdown.
These settings matter more for the h700 devices without a lid tbh
Well yeah. But still relevant
If you’re regularly closing the sp anyways when done playing, it won’t really do much
what cfw is this? Muos?
Yes
have they released a test version for the sp? Or are you using the regular 34xx image?
@mighty ingot
aaaah okay. And I had just set up my card lol. i'll flash the system card then. This should be able to use the settings on my ext2 card, right?
I'm not sure if the second card slot is working unfortunately
It seems to have issues for me
I might see if I can fix it later by tweaking the device tree
@mighty ingot just tried again and it's working fine. Maybe the second slot is unstable? I'm going to assume it's okay for now unless someone else says it's not working.
I don't normally use 2 cards so I won't be testing it thoroughly myself
I know on the official muOS image, even though the card should mount correctly if the kernel supports it, everything assumes the fs to be exFAT on SD1 ROMS partition and SD2
Fancy
yea i was one of the ones that was super mad it
but now seeing the pics it really isnt terrible
Even the sticks don't look bad
i now stuck between buying a cubeXX (to replace my rgb30) or this
The size brings it all together imo
If it wasn't as small as it is, it would look a lot worse
But it's got charm
i probably go with the CubeXX...........i quite like the 1:1 screen
the 30 is really pissing me off with the charging quirks
It looks way worse in the promo images. IRL is fine.
Has anyone tried 34xx minui on here yet?
This is gameplay recorded on unofficial muOS build for RG34XXSP by 0xAda.3 (Thanks❤️) and on Dolphin GameCube/Wii emulator for Anbernic H700 consoles by Snow / muOS Discord Server! 👍🔥

If you have to ask, just get a new one.
Its not about that I was wondering if I could use it as a bios
Use it til it fails 🤷♀️
Forget it
Pretty sure they say it’s “good enough”
I tossed it already 😔
Lmao
this is with the dolphin core built into muos?
No, it's not built it, it needs to be installed with archive manager.
OK, where would I find that
On other news I switched to muos, had a lot better luck with the shaders can confidently say its my new favorite looking gba device... as always looks better in person using ags001 (x6) and lcd x3 (default) I test gba on most devices I own but the panel they put in here is really good, surprisingly id pick this one over my oleds for gba 😁
#1317934557600944198 message
I wish I knew wtf a shader is
Its just visual effects
I use them specifically to get a look that looks like actual hardware or what I think it should look like
On devices where the pixels don't align, a shader can make it look cleaner or more accurate; other shaders can add things like crt effects
Hey thanks fam
Does Anbernic have a stock card download somewhere?
I didn't back up the card and want to revert to stock fw
🐐
Currently running rocknix till muOS
did you see the img someone made earlier lol
its pretty close
I'm using knulli but am a fan of muOS more as well
What exactly are the differences between rocknix and Knulli lol
Not rn
I was gonna try to load the regular 35sp minui on the 34sp but now I have to wait to get access to the stock firmware download
That probably won’t work, best bet is 34xx minUI
y?
Different displays
F
if I want to remap or change controls, I should typically use the Input menu from QUICK MENU?
ugh sucks cant get the stock image - i also requested access from the offical anbernic download site
wtf
if there is a mirror we should definitely pin it here
Can confirm this works just have to be patient! at first it did not work on the 32 gb Lexar SD card I tried, worked fine on a 64 gb one... This is especially great since I cannot seem to find a good download for plain stock, and this is that with many improvements. thanks for your work
anyone looking for stock, just use this:
https://github.com/cbepx-me/Anbernic-H700-RG-xx-StockOS-Modification
not sure why mine didnt work at first with a 32 gb sd card, 64 gb worked
rocknix is Linux for handheld focused on retro gaming emulation, knulli is based on batocera, general purpose gaming, they look quite similar as they both use ES but that's it
don't delete your comment, now my respond just looks stupid
Can't recommend the upgrade to CubeXX enough.
Not sure if it is given the 3566 seems stronger on paper
I was bummed about that too, true, but even if it weren't much better at just about everything but start and select placement, the battery not needing periodical yanking alone is a selling point. Ergos, nice stacked mushy shoulder buttons, solid build with no rattle, it's great.
the problem is the support for the chip, not the chip itself. it feels better if you can imagine some amazing dev could start a new emulator for the chip any moment now, or they have been in development for years and about to be revealed
i don't count on it but it could make you feel better right?
If this was the rg34xxsp I would have bought it immediately
they could have literally made this thing the same size as the miyoo mini
think about it
then no one else would buy it, I don't think your sale alone can support the company
are you one of the stick supporters?
I don't care actually, stick or not. What i'm talking about is business. proven market or hopeful market, hmm, hard to choose /s
why do you think the original design is better? I think what I came up with is objectively better
I can't picture a world where an exact copy of the Miyoo Flip screen aside sells more than a Miyoo Flip alternative without sticks.
or are you arguing noone would buy my design cause it's "not as nostalgic"?
people bought miyoo flip, despite of the flaw, this is a proven market
why do you think an rg35xxsp but with smaller bezels in not a proven market?
if you were a business man, would you go with 100% proven vs 80% "pretty sure"?
this is just an easy win for anbernic
I also think it would be nice without sticks and not without large bezels but in your edit there's not enough space to hold it comfortably
If anbernic really wanted to play safe they would have used the standard 3.5 inch 640x480 screen everybody is used to
and I hate when companies play it safe in this hobby
You will love MagicX
then it would be too familiar to the miyoo, people have no reason to buy
sometimes they just want an easy win
no because the miyoo flip has hinge issues and anbernic would market the hinge being sturdy
in asian culture, you don't sell your product by talk trash your competitor, just not good manner. you make your product better
well they did make an objectively worse product than the miyoo flip
it's a gba specialist device trying to also do more than it was meant to
well we could go all the way around and give this thing all the screen size the original shell can hold, but comfort is definitely hitting a compromise with this size, this is around miyoo mini type size range so people who enjoy those smaller devices would find this to be quite valuable
I think it sells pretty well though
also western sales is tiny compares to china and global south, so I don't think your objection can do much
so what you're saying is that no matter how shitty anbernic's devices are they will sell well
not what I'm saying at all
@spring ginkgo Would you prefer this design more? You can fit a 4 inch 10:9 screen in this shell.
what I'm trying to say is western idea of a good buy is quite different from anbernic's core customers
for example, this community like silent and soft switches, while in asia and south america, they like clicky
also lower income countries, people tend to buy things that multipurpose, not multiple single-purpose things
the sticks are just logical
Well in that case why the fuck did they make the rg34xx or the rg34xxsp? I think you're pulling stuff from your ass.
Clearly gba specialist devices
I live in asia and I sell these devices for 2 years, take that as you will
There are many specialist devices in this hobby
people don't just crave multi purpose devices
This is just to awesome device to exist, love it but Anbernic will never make probably 😦
I'm just trying to optimize devices to be the best they possibly could be
I've noticed that people mostly prefer when a device's screen size is extended rather than the bezels shrunken
The only problems with that form factor would be nowhere to rest the bottom case when folded and it would either be a lower quality display or it would drive the cost up
Max Zhou definitely didn't get that memo
the person is not the company, maxzhou trash talks all the time and can be very petty but not the company
I'm just kidding honestly
Every time I hear that guys name in a sentence it is not in a positive light
it's about his sworn enemy and nemesis - Lao Zhang
also maxzhou can speak can write english, from his older games and projects, some are documented in english, but we never see him comment on english contents
I'm just kinda flabberghasted that lynnfield claims that making a worse product is actually considered good marketing cause I've been holding off buying anbernic devices for a while now thanks to issues with mostly bezel sizes and screen resolution
Maybe he is one of us here xD
honestly if they made the rg40xxv with the golden ratio 960x720 screen we would have the perfect anbernic device right there
it's logical that businesses cater to their core customers first, otherwise they're not gonna be in the business for long. have you considered you're not their core customer?
The 406v has those specs
Optimized is having less control options? You have to realize, not everyone has multiple handhelds, people may want to get one that will mainly play gba but can also play other consoles and ports. Plus 3:2 screens arent only "gba specialized", they are arguably the perfect middle ground playing everything from 1:1 to 16:9 with minimal compromises
I mean, I like to shit on xx devices for being redundant, but I realise the AliExpress crowd will eat all of them up
also remember, anbernic devices are not only sold on aliexpress
aliexpress is for western customers
so their audience is people who want a single anbernic device that is cheap and plays retro games?
from my sales, kinda yes. R36S is the most sold device
like 10x the anbernic
cheap and multipurpose
Well that makes sense
h700 having sticks is a bad idea in the 1st place since h700 barely plays 3d games
so in this case having no sticks makes sense
Na, the h700 can probably play at least 50% of the psp, dreamcast, and n64 libraries at full speed. That alone is enough to justify sticks, but now think of all the portmaster ports that benefit from or require the use of sticks
I could be wrong, but I assume that a lot of asian gamers grew up on arcade cabinets rather than home consoles, so sticks just might feel more natural to them than a dpad
But I don't fully understand being mad at more control options lol, like you don't want to use the sticks, then don't
So it's not necessarily that "sticks = 3D games" for them
this is the correct assumption. consoles were way too expensive for people to own
I'm not mad about them but I feel like you wouldn't be loosing much in case it turns out you cannot fit the sticks in the shell
I think the trimui brick is a well selling device
it is basically the best small sized handheld as of now
I don't think sticks are super important on the handheld like this, but I have to say that playing GTA ports, Serious Sams or Quakes on such a small flip handheld sounds awesome
most of my customers make about $400/month. they're not likely to ever owned a gba, snes or MD, they don't care about your "gba correctness". the first question normally can it play knight of valor, captain commando and pokemon, and they want to able to play as many games as possible
btw, the R36S is $18, extra $4 for the sd card. the cheapest H700 is $27 rg35xx 2024
the sp is cool but for $40(1/10 monthly income) and not having sticks is just not logical for most people
the number of R36S sold a month exceeds the number of total members of this discord
Issue with that design is while nice and compact, it just wouldn't be very comfortable, whereas the height of the controller area on the 34xxSP is about the same as on the 40xxV and more usable for longer because of that
so you would rather want 4 inch 10:9 screen in there right?
I feel like you're the same people who would hate the miyoo flip 2.8 inch edition for the same reason you don't like my 1st mockup
that 4" model would be an interesting option and tbh while I wouldn't hate the 2.8" flip I wouldn't buy one as it would only suit quick bursts of play and I already have a 28xx and a mm to fill that infrequent niche already without risking the miyoo hinge lottery.
No reason to exist with the current vertical market
clamshells and verticals are a different market
Ok, but how does that provide anything compared to what already exists?
Yeah magicx has some WILD stuff
Tbh Id only want it having the same size but without the sticks I dont need it to be small like dat
Tbh I want the Miyoo flip in some Anbernic plastic.
I think the size is fine as is, wouldn't want it smaller or it'd start to get uncomfortable to use. If it didn't have the sticks I'd be ok with like 5mm shorter height, but no more.
Totally fine as is to me.
Have been testing some ROCKNIX lid switch changes. The hinge is sure getting a workout and that thing is totally rock solid.
Why don’t these sticks work for PS1
ty sleepy
im installing it now
can you store roms on both cards
like if i did 512s
@young rapids sorry to bother but the rom folder is empty on sd two and i cant find what to name the folders
You can make any of names to folders and assign cores to roms in muos😉
muos only cares they your roms in a subfolder in ROMS folder
you can put SNES roms in Genesis folder, it wouldn't mind
infact you can put all your games in 1 folder, doesn't matter
It’s cool in that it doesn’t matter. Sort them however you want; by console, by franchise, etc.
that's a main reason I like muOS, the folders are drag and drop, handle the core assignment later when you need to
anarchy but in a good way
there are names that are automatically recognized, but it's more so the OS has a label to stick on the system rather than the folders being rigid
does this support box art?
sad. mine is not working
So folder name dont matter?
it doesn't matter at all
it's only for your benefit.
Ok if I stick a firefly 512 rom 2nd card it will work? I hate to lose it all
are the roms in subfolders of ROMS folder? is the card fat32 or exfat
if both yes, then yes
oh, the file names have a syntax apparently
It looks great in person
Aw you almost have the whole set.
Gonna skip this one. Weird hidden screen like the rp mini
Oh god not this again
There's nothing weird about the screen
Did you completely miss the updated videos about the fact it is a 3:2 display?
It's not a weird hidden screen, it's just an RG34headXSP
They're actually hiding a 1440p 4:3 oled screen in here
Oof. Checked out before the news cycle actually finished.
Never been a fan of yellow handhelds 😅
Yellow ftw
Ok so Russ posted a video about it.... He was wrong? Sorry not intentially spreading wrong info
I wasn't aware of an update on this...
You're all good
Phawx posted an update video about the situation
Russ pinned a clarification comment
And Max Zhou fully tore down the handheld to show us
I see; my bad then. I'm misinformed. Good that it's a genuine 3:2
Yeah it's just got a big ole forehead
It looks worse in pics, but now I have one in hand it isn’t so bad in reality. I will get used to it
I mean I've had one for a while
Its usable but big
yea, you don't notice it as much in person especially when gaming
That SNES US though 😅 it’s beautiful. 😍 part of me wants another one
I already have 34XX but still want 34XX SP 🥹
I'd take a slightly bigger forehead over broken hinges any day of the week lol
I have never once been like, omg this forehead
lol, i just play and enjoy the device
You play games on these?
I made some bold claims about the screen looking better than rp3 so I checked just to be sure and it turns out the rp3 still looks better sorry bout that... it still looks very good but comparing the two its no contest 😅
I do think the SP looks closer to an actual gba with all the settings however screenwise
Share those shader settings
I would like to try more settings but anything else and performance takes a hit.. I also use accurate LCD ghosting to make it look right
How has FuOS been treating ya
10 times better than rocknix for this device specifically
Gonna give it a try cus I think I've just never liked emulation station based cfw's lol
Nice gba theme/bootup, easy portmaster setup, and shaders work better
dibs
Also lid function, though there currently is no wake up on opening the device I imagine that will get fixed with the official version
Supposedly no wake on lid is intended. It saves more power that way.
It should be an option tbh.
Im ok with it since we have a button anyways close lid to sleep is more important honestly I wouldnt MIND the option though considering I have it power off after a while anyways
I just wish there was a way to tell if it was in sleep or off. But that’s nitpicky.
@stiff sparrow
I think Anbernic delivered the best small clamshell we've seen so far in the retro emulation scene. Do you Agree?

Honestly this game Pikmin 1&2 and Wario World will play better on the Trimui Smart Pro and RK3566 devices. 😁
Built one of my Odroid Go Advance BE kits over my lunch break. Boy the screen in the RG34XXSP has come a long way.
Sorry to bother you, but how do I flash this image to a micro sd card? When I tried using Rufus it gave me an error. However I did only try to use the 2gb file, I'm not entirely sure what the other 2 files are for.
I suggest using the raspberry pi imager although newer versions of Rufus should work
The process of flashing should be the same as every other CFW
The file ending with sha256 can be used to verify that the image isn't corrupt
The muxupd file is an update that can be installed after the image has been flashed
muOS (MustardOS) is a custom operating system for a number of Linux-based retro handheld devices. Its main strength is that it's a very simple setup process, but is also highly customizable if you want to tweak it just right. In this video I'll show you how to install it and customize it to fit your gaming style.
RG*XX family starter guide: h...
Hey maybe someday dolphin will be optimized enough to play mario sunshine at full speed on the h700
Anbernic is betting on that clearly
do any of the CFWs work on this device or are we stuck on ofw at the moment?
Rocknix had a support release I thought
I've been running and it's great
oh yeah, forgot about that
ok mr 32gb micro sd that was in my 353v. did you actually have files on you since the stock fw on the 34xxsp is saying there's nothing there.
and I have the answer.. I need to move the files into the directory tree that the device made...
Theres also an unofficial muos build, check the pins
How long does it take to fully charge the RG34xx sp?
Maybe, if someone will make cluster of 6x anbernics for it
@rare raft hey bro, im running stock mod, is there a way to change the screen brightness in game
Any devs here got a unit yet? Still waiting on one. No one on the Knulli team has received one yet. Wondering how long it’ll be lol
Hold menu + vol buttons?
It doesn't work in game it just activates the RA menu & changes the volume, it only works in the anbernic menus
Setup that hot key?
What do you mean
When playing in retro arch it doesn't control the backlight, just the volume
A couple went out to ROCKNIX devs.
I used the piss tape and it worked much better than before
I don't remember the name of what tape type
But it's the transparent yellow tape you see in all the tape mods
Nice!
Kapton tape
There was none of that tape in the house, so I had to order some in from Amazon
Aye aye kaptan
Miyoo uses it on the flip, its why the buttons are quiet on that device
Figured I'd ask
I wrapped the kaptan the full way around the micro switch
Is that okay?
Yeah.
Alrighty then
I'm ashamed to admit that this is my first time actually turning the device on
Why are they using a smoothening overlay!?
Absolutely disgusting
Maybe I'm crazy but the audio seems to be better than on the 35SP
I saw someone post the purple paint chipping on their 34xx sp, anyone else have that issue?
Flip somehow feels better in hand. The SP feels more sturdy though.
I like the opened position of the Flip. But actually opening the SP is way better.
I have a purple unit, I can scratch it heavily with my fingernail and nothing happens to the shell
this guy must have dropped it
Thats good to know!
I feel like that’s the secret answer to a lot of issues that look severe but somehow legit look to be pretty much a one-off.
Here's our Setup guide to get the most out of your SP
We talking muOS or Knulli here bruh? 😉
special dual boot process exclusive to RH readers
There's an unofficial one and I just tried it for about 20 mins. Works really well so far.
Played sonic adventure one first level.
Yeah I’m running that.
Mine
How did it happen? Just started chipping? What colourway?
Well there's only one purple one...
in the same place as that post?
The screen of the 34 looks oled :0 the other looks washed
Interesting, the slight texture to the 34xxSP makes it probably my favourite feeling small device, albeit not tried a miyoo flip
I’m not sure if the curves are different. But the flip is a bit lighter. I’m not sure exactly what it is but when I pick them up I just think the Flip feels better to hold for some reason.
Its over saturated. Obviously that pic above isn't the best example to use, but compare the gradient on spikes hair between the two. Over saturating colors in software crushes a lot of darker colors to black
I dont think the 34 sp looks oled, its a good panel for sure but the flip and even the 35 sp do not look that bad by comparison camera does not do it justice at all
Then again I also think handhelds with muted colors have a place too my 405m and 405v are amazing but the panels are not so much
We’ve got an alpha build supporters are helping with. Most things users have reported are working, but we’re limited because none of us have yet to get a handheld. What we have done is from user supplied files and testing
Muted Flip panel matches the muted yellow.
I took that picture to just compare the screen / bezels.
The colors of the SP look nicer overall, but I think actual image is conveyed better on the Flip.
(You can see more details of Spike on the Flip. SP kinda looks like a mess of colors.)
Flip looks like a little dude. SP looks like “please kill me”
I dont often take my handhelds with me anywhere but this one is definitely my exception it goes with me everywhere like since I've had it its been in my pocket daily shrinking it down from the 35xx sp was genius what a smart idea
should we move this away from "upcoming"?
That's interesting, I might try it, TBH I thought Miyoo buttons are lighter and quieter because they used different switches. Anbernic likes use harder ones, not like on original SP but similar to the hardware clones, like Exeq Gamebox
yea this is from a teardown video, Adin Walls also mentions it in the 34xxsp video somewhere
that's very interesting and probably a good way to improve the anbernic SP devices, but I imagine it will only help with the loudness of the buttons not so much with how soft they feel
Sorry about this. I've updated the guide to provide clarification.
So, is this on Anbernic Stock and they’re pulling nonsense similar to the RG405/505 over sharpening? Or is it also an issue on custom firmware like MuOS (the 34XX image boots and should run properly to test out the screen, it just doesn’t work with the sticks or sensor)?
No idea. I’m running the unofficial muOS that supports sticks and lid.
I assume it’s just the stock screen settings. Can be adjusted I assume but idk how
Yeah, the reason for the Flip’s buttons feeling softer might also just be due to them using different tactile buttons than Anbernic.
…that actually sounds different from what the 34XX screen is like, is that blur present on 16-bit games?
No idea
This is gameplay recorded on unofficial muOS build for RG34XXSP by 0xAda.3 (Thanks❤️) and on Dolphin GameCube/Wii emulator for Anbernic H700 consoles by Snow / muOS Discord Server! 👍🔥
Download link: https://gofile.io/d/WR4wrA
Thanks a lot muOS Team and Snow to making it happen!!! ❤
To request more videos with gameplay from variou...
Also wait what? Did someone make an unofficial update that adds those?
Huh, I'm trying it out now, but for some reason it keeps getting stuck on the boot screen.
try pressing the reset button
if that doesn't help there's some discussion about the issue on the muOS discord
Just boots to the MuOS logo, vibrates once, and then nothing else.
there might be something helpful there

#1319613884356624424 message
First suggestion didn’t work, second one I don’t have a Linux computer beyond the Steam Deck, so I can’t really mess with the boot stuff.
Eh, I can just use my 34XX’s sd card for now and save this current one for an official build later.
…Actually wait, could it be possible to just make a version of the SP build that’s instead just an update for the public 34XX build?
I could
Like, we just grab the update from MuOS.dev, install it, and then we could install an update that just unlocks usage of the sticks and adds the lid sensor function?
it might cause the same problem though
yeah
It would need to reflash the kernel, boot package and SPL though
it's likely to cause the same problem
Anyways, here’s an extra bit of evidence on why people should never buy any shit from GoGameGeek.
Yes, you are seeing the bits on the bottom left top right corners correctly, that’s 3 dead pixels, one of which being even more noticeable than the other 2.
any product can have defect, the main point is did you request refund and did they accept?
No shit, I already requested it. This is just the rotten cherry on top of them already delaying the shipment and also point blank lying to me when I asked them a question on where it would be shipping from before I even ordered it.
I'm trying to install the custom build of MuOS by following the link in the pinned comment, but could someone please explain what I should do to apply the update? This is my first time installing MuOS so I'm not sure how I apply that patch for PlayStation controls
YouTube: how to install muOS. Follow it but just use that unofficial build
I was following a guide, but it didn't mention patching. I have the image flashed an all that, but I'll look up other guides and see what I can find. Thanks
No idea about patching. I just use the pinned file for a fresh install
Once muOS finishes installing copy the update file to the ARCHIVE directory on your sd card
Then in muOS go to Apps -> Archive Manager and then select the update file and it will install
Thank you so much!
Once you've done that you should also do the same with this https://community.muos.dev/uploads/short-url/9uBrBwnuQEVrgiIQMYowj7EVTU9.muxzip
Hmm. Whenver I tried to flash the unofficial SP thing pinned up top, it just flashes only the icon lol
I've redownloaded it like three times, and getting the same weird result. Meh, I'll just use the official 34XX; no sticks, but it still gets the point across.
omfg, the battery was dead, no wonder it wasn't working LOL
Okay, it's time for bed. Good night y'all
Any rumors of different colors coming out? Or transparent colors like the 35sp?
This all worked perfectly. Thank you for your help
Honestly I’m really liking MuOS on the 34XXSP. Coming from Knulli, the quick resume feels a lot better and the quick boot time is just 🤌
If it had bluetooth support, a built in screen scraper, and maybe something like ES-DE or artbook next so it looked nicer when plugged into a tv, it would be the perfect OS for me
Scrappy and Bluetooth App you can grab through the Applications section in the forum (community.muos.dev)
bluetooth isn't refined but it works
art book next has only been ported to the 640x480 res unfortunately, there's a couple other theme choices though for the 34XX's resolution
I like the minUI theme, Harry made a version for all resolutions before the migration to the forum
no
There’s a minUI theme for muOS?
took a bit to find, it was archived deep in the readonly section of the muOS discord: #1297337185640513638 message
Sweet. Any idea if it’s easy to rename “Content” to “Games” ?
ES as a front end is like 99% of the reason Knulli boots slightly slower than muOS. Cant have it all 🤷♂️
I just fixed the quickresume apparently not working when shutting down with the lid on the 34xx-sp, but again it’s an alpha and can only do so much without devices. We’re trying though
About 21 seconds is about as fast as I’ve ever got on a cold boot on a h700 device. That’s unlikely to change as I think we’ve hit the ceiling on boot speeds unless someone makes some kind of breakthrough but it’s unlikely at this point. As a reminder ext4 is a bit faster booting/parsing than exfat, but most people will take the convenience of exfat as a trade off if using windows
Hmm I wonder if disk IO is a factor... Maybe ext4 with shared blocks/read only could make it a slight bit faster. But maybe thats diminishing returns, probably breaks OTAs too
Possibly. It’s not a night and day difference but it is noticeable. Especially with the es gameslist parsing
The h700’s have 💩 card reader speeds though
Oh? I didn't know
It hard caps at around 20MB/sec but even that’s under synthetic benchmarks

I’ve spent time benchmarking various i/o schedulers, etc and at best it’s all margin of error stuff
Reminds me of a time when I made Android ROMs for the HTC HD2, I ended up putting the rootfs in RAM and loading from there, SD Card IO was pretty bad
Oh man, someone even made a video about it, haha, so long ago
https://youtu.be/o0Sbc6m2Mhw?feature=shared
Maybe if they start making more h700’s with 2GB ram we could play around with stuff like that lol
I’m working between batocera/Knulli trying to make game launching faster though
😮 Thank you so much for responding to me! As a long time Knulli fan, by no means did I mean to trash talk Knulli. I was more trying to convey that I thought that MuOS was pleasingly nice alternative.
As a former iOS dev, I understand how debilitating it must be to not have the device. Do you have any idea on when you all should expect your dev units?
So far I’ve found some decent improvements. I have some ideas to make some noticeable increases.
Wait you guys don't have units?
No Knulli dev has received a unit yet
WHAT
We’re flying blind lol
well let me know if you want mine, I'll ship it from the UK
Not like I'm bringing GammaOS to the H700 on a 20MB/s card
It’s mostly myself, acme, and chrizzo that are the main Knulli devs. I’m in the US. But it is getting to the point that I think we got forgotten about lol
I don’t know, our contact is slow to respond and all I received weeks ago is that units were going out once US devices started shipping. Nothing yet. And yes I understand I just wanted to convey that with ES being a heavier front end there are inherent trade offs
muOS is a great project! I have nothing against it. We’re a very small team, and honestly if we weren’t riding on the coat tails of a mature OS like batocera it would be 10x harder to work on stuff for Knulli. That’s probably one of the main reasons we have gotten where we are with just a few people primarily working on it
@spice sandal if you don’t mind reaching out in our developer channel, and want to donate yours if you don’t need. We do have a dev in Europe that would be happy to take it
MuOS has about a 15 second boot in my extremely unscientific test.
Yeah that sounds about right. It’s about the same in Knulli if you stripped out ES.
There’s only so much you can do when half the boot time is from the anbernic kernel itself
Yeah interestingly I want the yellow one lol, I have a black one at the moment
Color I don’t think matters to any of us lol
I primarily want one so I can work on re-enabling the 1.5ghz frequency and also do some undervolting tests
Cool, I'll ship it tomorrow, unfortunately my kid seemed to of have misplaced the case for it :/
just reach out to me in the channel, I can't seem to find an appropiate one
3 times I've opened my 34SP up to apply a tape mod
And it just hasn't quite worked
The big thing is that the button is way louder when the system is open compared to when it's closed
if it bothers you that much, sell it and get a conventional device
or spend that time and energy to learn how to solder and you can solve your problem in 10 minutes
that aside, felt is much better at absorbing sound than any tape
I never thought it was loud enough to bother 😅
some people are more sensitive
most people in the other hand like clicky things
ask any custom keyboard enthusiast
cherry red and blue are bought way more than brown, that's just fact
Fair enough I have browns too 😅 I like the smooth glide in reds more for typing but blue for gaming
Yeah bro just learn how to solder
Just learn it
So easy bro
I'll see what can be done with felt
it's not easy, but not hard neither, it's an elective in secondary school so it's certainly not hard to learn
much easier than olden days though with all the tools so cheap now
Huh, so RG34XXSP has a 120 Hz mode. I tried RA with BFI, but some flickering.
anyone test portmaster on theirs yet? Any noticeable benefits of that extra gig of ram?
it should be able to handle half life 2 better than the rg35xxh with that extra ram
So that purple 34XX SP. is it all purple plastic or some of it painted purple? I saw a post about paint chipping.
Will this chat be moved, or has a new one been created thats not upcoming? With everything hidden, its hard to find
it will not be moved, as other devices, this will be removed, and a new one will be created in devices section along with affiliate links as top post
Saw a video where the SNES color buttons are swapped out for normal black buttons. I think it looks nicer. https://youtu.be/cIv8U0cSTJU?si=EQL7iJRntQlpjLIu
Recently picked up the 34xxsp, and I'm really enjoying it so far.
Have completed a few mods.
Shoulder buttons dampened.
The Face buttons swapped.
Reset button deleted.
#anbernic #diy
What do you all think?
Looks way better, but I'm biased as I've done exactly that to my grey 35.
Are the 35 buttons taller? Look at the smudges on the screen.
Looks kinda bland tbh. Looking at this I can kinda understand why Anbernic went with colored buttons on all shell colors
I would've went with blue if they didn't put the rainbow colors I think it looks awful personally
I didn't really want the snes colorway that bad but I didnt like any of the other color options
Oh yeah absolutely agree, that thing needed gamecube colored buttons
But I can see why they decided against monochrome buttons
Here's a teardown measuring the buttons, but I don't speak... mandarin? 8:30.

Seems to be taller.
Button thickness: 4.1mm (34XX SP) vs 4.8mm (35XX SP)
So I think you are right about this and it’s probably not a good idea to use 35XXSP buttons on 34XXSP
I wouldnt the 34sp dpad already smudges the screen protector

go to any online shopping website and look at the sale number, or aliexpress and look at switch sales from a same store
If you looked at switch sales on most stores, you'd think that almost nobody used cherry red, blue or brown, it's the same reality distortion where the 9070XT seems to be selling well, but then the steam hardware survey has them nowhere
i don't understand your logic , that aside, steam survey means absolutely nothing.first, 9 out of 10 most populous countries do not us steam. second, gpu has other uses other than gaming, gaming is like the tiny bit of gpu sales
I would be all over the 34xxSP if they’d one one that was red with yellow/gold buttons instead of the other way around
Oof I don't know about red with yellow buttons. Really like the purple / indigo in the flesh though. I've been adding a bunch of lid behaviour to ROCKNIX. Might be worth testing tomorrow's nightly release if anyone's feeling brave.
The indigo one is noticeably darker in person than in pictures and looks so much nicer for it
cadmium red is nice
I havent had issues so far. Feels pretty good
I did slightly sand the button on the bottom so it wouldn't stab through the membrane, and I also have a layer of kapton tape
That’s a fake cube.
Nah, looks real to me
Nah, looks real to me
I love the way you slow zoomed like the handheld was about to jump scare you.
I also saw someone swap out the colored buttons on the black model with black buttons. I can't seem to find it anywhere but loved the all black look
anyone with really good bezels for the 3:2 screen for 4:3 consoles (almost all besides GBA)?
my solution to skittles

Any shaders on that?
Random person - "Nintendo style or Xbox style?"
You - "No"
Left + Pokeball + right + Pokeball + Pokeball, Pokeball + Select + Left Trigger, Pokeball to activate infinite health
