#Lenovo Legion Go 2

How's the fan noise?
Gets fairly loud on full speed, but not whiny. I don't think it actually gets that high in game but I need to spend more time with it
Reaching a bit. Just say "dat screen" and be done with it.
I found that speakers overpower fan noise half the time, so fan noise hasn’t been a concern for me. But i guess depends on what games you play
Much improved imo. But still up-firing so theres that.
But quality wise much better. Im no audio expert though
So wont comment on bass etc
I'm excited to finally receive the Lenovo Legion Go 2 after seeing it at CES more than 9 months ago. Let's take a look and unbox and get some initial impressions!
Pick up a screen protector for your Legion Go 2 here:
https://amzn.to/436O6Lh
00:00 - Intro and Unboxing
05:24 - Screen Protector
06:39 - Device Tour
09:16 - Lego 1 vs Lego 2 Control...
So do you have the full screen experience available on your new Legion Gos now? Because it just made itself available on my OG Ally (not the XAX).
Think they're still slow rolling it
On xax it was pretty meh anyway. I'd be rolling legion straight to bazzite
Probably makes more sense on the Allys right now anyway, since Asus has already integrated Armory Crate with the game bar and Lenovo's Legion space barely even works as it is ...
Yeah armory crate is basically what I ended up using
The fact that Lenovo has plans for steamOS on Lego 2 is also a good sign
We can only buy it directly from Lenovo
I’m curious what tdp they have “performance” set to because it’s notably worse than when I set a manual 30w tdp
This is on reddit sums things up 😅
Hopefully lenovo will get things moving sooner rather than later for you guys
Reminds me when Ps5 was launching .... I even talked to a guy from biggest tech store , they got like 50 units across top7 store for whole cointr and had preorders in thousands
Yeah those were crazy times. Thankfully got mine from Amazon 😅 these companies never learn
so grabbed the LeGo S case ... and its exactly what i neeeded 😄
You can fir it even with teh tpu
😅 if its what you need. All for you. But i want ultimate protection for my £1000 device 😅
Quality wise it’s decent. But i just don’t feel it will protect my go 2 from a drop. I have cats 😅 so its inevitable
Well my usecase is just for travel when I got to my hometown for a weekend
That makes sense
If in a bigger bag then fair enough 🙂
And the official monstroud lego1 case just fill half my travel bag
This is thin enough to be fine
Im still hoping for a kill switch for go 2. Thats the only slim case i would be happy with
yeah killswitch for deck was kinda perfect as slim protective case
My go to for slim cases is tomtoc. But i found their case for switch 2 is amazing quality, but again i can press button and sticks through case.
yeah i got tomtoc for swled+3rd party controllers
pressing sticks int above LeGo case is fine with the 1$ protectors 😄
anyway time to do the skin now to finalize my LeGo upgrade
Glad you finally got it hand. Look forward to your full review 💪💪💪
Haha ha wow! This made me laugh 🤣. So true!
Ok guys, so someone tried this tomtoc bag for the Legion Go 2?
https://www.amazon.it/tomtoc-accessori-protettiva-adattatore-caricabatterie/dp/B09ZXM9GPH?ref_=ast_sto_dp#averageCustomerReviewsAnchor
Haven’t tried it personally. But i asked tomtoc recently on their discord and they said Go 2 fits
..in this bag
So i think i am in near finsl state of the upgrade .... Not sure if I should use more from the skin
Uhm, i don't have the doubt on if LeGo2 fits, but it's the feeling on the triggers and bumpers, I don't feel like those buttons are protected well🤔
I like the W-shaped Eva shield to protect screen and joysticks, but I'm afraid for the shoulder buttons
Tomtoc probs just said yes based on dimensions not actual tests 😅
I tried to search the internet, but of course I didn't find LeGo2 tests, and I just don't want to spend 50€ for a bag that doesn't give me the feeling of 100% protection
I want the JSAUX "tank" case, but I have to wait to get it on Amazon Italy
It wouldn't fit. The gen 1 legion go required the controls to be taken off for it to fit.
Its serving me well, thank you again for the recommendation ❤️
Can't wait to get my hands on one of these 🤩
Have you tried AliExpress?
https://a.aliexpress.com/_Eyls4TA
I have Amazon Prime plus 40€ on gift card, so I prefer waiting for amazon🤣
Yeah thats fair enough 😅
Best Buy came in clutch, was delivered earlier today 🔥
nice
so 'performance' profile on battery is default 20w..
interesting they put it so low, i guess to prioritize battery life
Approximated:
Battery:
9/15/20w
Plugged in:
15/22/32
ok now it's only pulling 22w plugged in on 'performance'
something is strange with power management
oh, i think the battery is full and it went into bypass mode so its using battery profiles??
That's annoying - you could be playing on wall and charging, and when battery gets full all the sudden your performance drops lol
Initial impressions?
New controllers are much nicer feeling than the original ones for sure. I still hate the damn side button
I think the side buttons are actually worse. since it's more contoured you press them even more easily
YES, especially the lower one
Says December 10th for me on the website order
How's that panel compared to the oled deck (in terms of brightness and vibrancy)? @upper halo @plush acorn
Is the wait worth it?
December 2 here...
Canada?
US (Lenovo web site)
Ah interesting. Maybe the first batch is out of stock everywhere then.
I don’t have a deck oled to side by side compare. It’s obviously crisper. Not sure about brightness.
HDR works in Windows?
Yeah
Nice. Looking forward to seeing more videos from ya about it. Full review next weekend?
Probably not a full review that soon but other videos about it
Some comparisons with go s and go 1
Nice! Can't wait to see how it compares to some other handhelds. You always have good video quality so it'll really show the screens off nicely.
The go s is more comfortable
I actually do not like the right stick placement on the 2 at all
Woop woop! Glad you got one daddy 🫂
Enjoy that oled goodness
TPU case flattens them out. So less annoying once that is on. But is frustrating relying on an accessory for design issues
Im sure someone will 3d print a cover or something similar
Placement in general? Or do you think if the grip was flared out more it would feel better?
Side buttons with TPU installed
Do you find it okay?
Yeah im pretty fine with it. But i normally don’t need grips on my devices. My hands are pretty wonky 🤣🤣🤣
The only device i ever needed a grip for was the analogue pocket
That would give me cramps after a minute of using it
But the LeGo2 is less wider than the LeGo1 and also less wider than the Steam Deck (SD is 298 mm wide meanwhile the LeGo 2 is 295,6 mm wide, according to the official manual)
Also the new version of the tomtoc Arccos-G47 bag is seen in the reviews that the LeGo1 fits
I think I'll order the bag to see if it's ok for my feeling (while I'm waiting for the JSAUX case @versed goblet)
In the worst case I'll go for a 3D printed part to protect the bumpers and the triggers from being pressed from the top 🤔
Also I was starting thinking to get a bag instead of the hard case, I have quite a lot of accessories and I'd still use a backpack, using the hard case🤔
Maybe with the tomtoc bag I'd feel good
The tomtoc bags are always easy to carry stuff around with. Definitely worth it in my opinion if you want to take it out with you often.
It doesn't shock me that the go s ergos are better. Honestly best stock big boi I've ever used
But I'll need to wait for my Lego 2 to make final judgment
Honestly I just want a place to store securely the LeGo2
My first choice was the JSAUX hard case, but thinking on how many accessories I would carry along with the LeGo 2, I started thinking a bag would fit more my needs 🤔
Just worried about the triggers/bumpers, but I guess I'll find out myself lol
Luckily I'm able to 3D drawing, so maybe I'll just draw a 3D protection for the upper side
From the inside
Because the controller is thinner than the go 1 or go s it lands really low on my thumb. I found my right thumb getting sore after a longer session from having to bend it so much to use the stick
Thats fair i can see that. Sounds like a grips may be in order for better orientation 😊
I've tried both, i think youd really enjoy a bag. It lets you fit other things in it, like earbuds, a power bank and a few usb cables. Pretty nice for taking it out and about.
Even using the a and b buttons my thumbs is so close to the edge and the palm of my hand. I keep trying to shift my hand around to try and find a better grip placement.
I think exactly for that
I also have the official joystick connectors
So I'll see of the bag will fit me
And also, having a bag doesn't make me bringing a backpack whenever I want to play on the go 🤔
I think it's about how we naturally position our hands. The S is short, so you can comfortably hold it from the bottom, which lets your thumb naturally slot into the correct spot for the joystick.
Because the 2 is taller, you can't really hold it from the bottom in the same way; you need to hold it more from the side. Gripping it like you would the S just doesn't work perfectly.
Ultimately, it's going to come down to personal preference. I found the same thing with the Claw 8 AI. I was trying to hold it from the bottom and reach up, but it was too tall. I've since learned to just hold it from the side, and now it's perfect for my grip.
Yeah. The flair at the bottom of the go s is OP
Maybe I need to try for good quality control on a 4th Legion Go S
There’s definitely a chance I end up keeping go s and returning go 2 but not rushing to any conclusions. Steam Go s with oled would be GOAT.
The weight and slipperiness is such that i pretty much have to grip it close/tightly to support it.
I'm sure it's coming. Now that they took Lego 2 to OLED it'd be kinda crazy if they kept go s back
Interesting... Not you got me wondering if I'll hate the grip too 😂
How are the weight and ergonomic compared to the LEGO 1?
Very subjective. Its a shame you cant get hands on a demo unit in a store to try out
For me, im fine with the grip. But thats just a me thing. The thing that only bugs me about using it is the weight. Fine at start. But after 2-3 hours of use. My arms get lower and lower till im resting it on my chest or a pillow or something 😅
Its well balanced but its still heavy overall
Better ergo but a bit heavier imo
Yeah... It would be nice to see it in stores so people could try it out. I'll have it next week according to customer service anyways... We'll see how accurate their estimates are Vs the website.
Not much longer before that OLED goodness
lol I did the same thing last night and man that little curve out at the bottom for the Go S does wonders
Just got mine in, now starts the hours of updates 😆
We're hosting a giveaway for this case from Jsaux shortly on our podcast, we usually don't get many entrants for cases.
Well, this is interesting lel
I ordered a couple of hours ago the tomtoc bag
@vapid pier where the Podcast is headed?
Should be one of our November episodes here, it's on our YouTube every Monday at 6pm pacific time (-8 GMT)
Oh ok, thanks for the info mate 🗿
Enjoy that beautiful OLED @vapid pier
I didn't really have that much in the way of updates, definitely a lot less than the Xbox Ally/X
Yeah it wasn’t super long
Still feel like out of box experience could be better but par for the course.
Ok guys and @jovial shell , just tried the tomtoc bag
It fits, but when you want to take it out the shoulder buttons are inevitably pressed and this is not a good feeling for me, even if there is a lot of space
I guess the JSAUX case is the one.
@versed goblet
Thanks for the heads up. Yeah the Jsaux one is a tank. Long as you are ok with size its perfect. You can still fit lots of accessories inside the case too
I don't care much about the size, I'm pretty ok with the JSAUX case ones
I just want protection for the LeGo2
@versed goblet the silicone case is here. Def helps this side buttons not be so annoying.
Also following this guide greatly improves hdr https://www.reddit.com/r/LegionGo/s/NMJvD51PoP
Oh man BF6 over GFN in HDR looks amazing.
Xbox FSE
Something strange is happening with tdp here. Maybe a FSE issue
It’s not respecting custom tdp, bouncing back down to ~15w
Yeah custom tdp no work. Must be some background service that needs to be running.
Yeah does a really good job of flattening them out
I think i read this on reddit somewhere. Both apps use similar background processes. I think reddit user had to use a 3rd party app or just keep coming out of fse to change tdp
Hopefully legion space will be rolled into fse when its officially on legion devices
I think the case plus a skullnco thumb grip make the right joystick situation more tolerable
Yeah. The thumb grips do add extra height. Make them a bit more chunky which I like. I am not a fan of stock sticks
how do you map easy shortcut task switcher on xbox fse?
By default, isn't the task switcher just "hold down whatever button you've assigned to the Xbox button"?
Lenovo is an absolute fucking clown show.
What - are they violating some money laundering law by just taking my money for more than a month with apparently no intention to ever ship a device?
cries laughs in ayaneo
Seriously - if I wanted the fucking Ayaneo ordering experience I would have ordered a fucking Ayaneo.
tbh "more than a month" is still nowhere near half a year+ 😄
I mean ... you expect that from Ayaneo.
same as you can expect delays like this during global shortage
but thy should definitely commnicate it better
which local lenovo does from what i heard
Not an excuse when they keep shipping them to Best Buy.
tbh no clue how unit logistics is done in US ... i expect big ess thax to the tarriff comedy
but usually here brick and mortar stores hav priotity and nobody releas does buy these things hrough web anyway
(mostly cause customs office for pricey things like this is insane to deal with and dollar being weak now gives us pretty nice currency coversion even in regulat stores .. wihtout the customs risk and better warranty)
that's pretty bad when their own online store has no stock to ship out
probably should've never taken pre-orders to begin with
The could have done it like sony to just lokot the amount of preorders
Tomorrow is the last estimated shipping day that the customer service manager at Lenovo Canada gave me. Hoping to see a shipping confirmation either today or tomorrow 🤞
I ... wouldn't bet on it.
oof
Probably have better luck driving down into the US and going to Best Buy, since that seems to be the only outlet in North America allowed to have them.
Hmmm
From some old article I found it seems lenovo Canada is ruled over by american Lenovo NA
So I gu3ss they prioritized their own and gave little to no units to canada
Well, they prioritized Best Buy specfically. No one else.
Similarly how PS5 pro was dealt here ... where Sony europe gave little to nolaunch units to any country east of Germany (the biggest local shop got whole lot of 30 units at the time )
Just chatted with Lenovo support. Completely useless so far.
Our biggest tech eshop just employed Voicechatbot for support... ita been kinds hell
"I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, but I regret to inform you that the promised shipment date for your order was set for 10/07/2025, and unfortunately, we were not able to meet this deadline. I would like to let you know that I am forwarding your concern to our order management team. "
Yeah, maybe this bot MIGHT forward something to a human.
Question is if "order management team" has bot of its own or not
At this point, maybe they just need to get some bots to make some Legion Go 2's.
Botception
A friend said they called a local plumber the other day, not even a big corporation, and the phone was answered by an AI voicebot to answer questions about his appointment. It took him a couple minutes to realize it. If you think getting an outsourced call center or simple chatbot was bad, just wait as the near future is just going to be AI hell and even harder to talk to a real, knowledgable, person.
Oh I'm not

shocked that abxylute handheld does a keyboard attachment before lenovo 😅
Unboxing the all-new Abxylute 3D One — the world’s first glasses-free 3D handheld gaming PC!
This thing packs an Intel Core Ultra 7, 32 GB LPDDR5X RAM, and an 11-inch 3D display that doesn’t need glasses. Full review coming soon!
i mean it was shown even back when it was called sunday dragon
I cant believe Lenovo didnt do a keyboard attachment that magnetically snaps on
@versed goblet I surrendered to myself and ordered the JSAUX case on their site yesterday
They already shipped it this morning, so I expect it to arrive next week 🤩
Haha 😅 it’s a good case. You will be happy. Thats pretty fast shipping
I know i'll be happy, any hard case is better than the crappy one Lenovo provides 🤣
meanwhile here i am buying LeGo S/2 softer case for my LeGo 1 😄
as the og Lego 1 Hard Case is just chonky wank
Its ok. It is definatly slim. But i feel like a slim hard case is out there somewhere
i spent few days searching for it thant just gave up 😄
i really liked how Valve did it with SDOled ... aka removable slimcase 😄
The extra bulk is so you can comfortably carry the hockey puck along with the handheld, of course. 🙃
"Thank you for your recent purchase with Lenovo. Your order is very important to us, and we are working very hard to get your order shipped as soon as possible. Currently your estimated ship date is 19/11/2025"
Not that I believe this for even a single moment, but it looks like the Lenovo customer service bot must've talked to the fulfillment bot and generated a random date.
Good job for the randomdstegeneration bot
Well, it's not shipping until the 19th month, so you've got a while to wait
Yeah, looks like I got a shipping date of Nevember 11th, since this was from Lenovo US.
Oh you got a bot too? I could kinda tell the voice was AI generated. Felt... fake.
Lenovo offered me 5% cash back refund on my purchase since the shipping date keeps getting pushed back, but i need to call in again to initiate it once it ships.
Has Lenovo even shipped out a single order from their own store yet? Feels like "no".
They did in UK, but yeah everywhere else seems to be a no
My only thought is mine shipped from china. So maybe they are trying to stock local warehouses to avoid customers getting taxes
More like non-UK Lenovo web site preorders be like ...
