Worried? I meant it as a plus
I kinda wish they could add back the external gamepad function from RG353, bluetooth will be even better
Like, using the unit itself as external gamepad
The 40XXH will actually be a good comfort option
Youâre wanting the rumoured 406. Not this. This is all us folks which are fine with the XX performance but want a bigger screen
lol no. not the performance im talking about. i hate the chin on this device. i want it "shorter" like the RG405m
3D printing
what that
RGWin280, anyone down with that?
With a portable CRT
Beam index CRT that's much more compact than regular color CRT
Are 3D printed shells really ever a thing for these devices
They need to be popular first
Any1 else is excited to try some ports and dos games on 4" screen?
I'm super excited with the idea of playing ports like Stardew Valley and Celeste on this thing
Would a Doom 3 port work on this device?
The XXs run Doom 3, yeaH
How well does it run them? Locked framerate?
I kinda like the idea of doom 2 mods on this tbh
The new firmware update they are saying this has is upped to 64bit correct? I assume that means the firmware available before was limited to 32bit but I am unsure what that would mean for the performance of the device.
I think 64 helps for portmaster compat and maybe n64 performance
@lucid hornet will this be the device for me given i wanted the arc for the screen, good dpad, and have a stick...........?
I mean, a couple years ago I got the 351MP specifically to have two sticks for Portmaster, and I'd honestly say Doom/Quake sucked on it
Maybe it was the way the ports were configured
Maybe it was the layout of the device (asymmetric sticks are kinda better for FPS games)
Maybe it was that cardinal snapping before we had tools to see that issue
Maybe all of the above, but it was really uncomfortable to play
And so the best handheld version of Doom for me would be Doom 32X Resurrected that just works well with a dpad
I think my MM+ handled 32X Doom pretty well, so H700 should be more than enough
Please, @astral axle, where could I get that Doom version?
we'll see how the dpad is on this one, but for me the point of the arc is that sega disc style one
DONT REMIND ME
i have to compromise
as i will never get the device i want
What do you guys think about the fact that the battery's gon' be smaller than the one in the RG35XX-H? I really hate it, that sucks!
ANBERNIC always seems to mess something up! Otherwise it would've been the perfect PS1 emulation device for me.
They want us dead of frustration and thirst I'm sure of it
FIRST DEGREE MASSACRE!!!!
We can't stand any of it! We must blow up Yangliming factory and claim Anbernick for the peeple right now!!
Whoa man, wait a minute - it's not that bad!
The smaller devices lose some battery life because of how close the battery is to heat sources. In a larger device, that's less of an issue. Enough to compensate for a smaller battery? No idea. But I think the larger screen is going to be more of a factor regardless.
The Arc is 4 inches, and the battery is not used as a heatsink there â it's on the opposite side of the mainboard
RGB30 does put the battery next to the SoC though IIRC. So that could be a bigger factor
But also after RGB20SX I feel slight disappointment every time I see a device that doesn't have a 5000 mAh battery
If these devices aren't getting faster, they could at least start growing in battery life
I don't think that battery was even that big â at least not for a device with a 4 inch screen anyway
weight is expensive, batteries are also one of the more pricey parts in those handhelds
Well, yeah, but like I said, that battery doesn't seem to be that much bigger. And weight difference between RGB30 and RGB20SX is like 7 grams (RGB30 being the heavier one)
The price difference between the two is just 10 bucks for 20% more battery, I'd gladly pay that
you, me, probably most people here, but not the majority who just wants to game 1-2 hours on the go and is plenty satisfied with some tiny tiny battery that can do 5hours in one charge
Well, I'm talking about myself, of course
Yeah, but the RG35XX-H is smaller and has bigger battery. So it means the battery is closer to heat sources? The RG40XX-H should be a bit bigger in general, shouldn't it?
I wouldn't be comfortable gauging the final battery numbers til we see the actual product posting tbh
Well, let's wait and see...
Will this have a cheap placsticy "3d printed" feel, and have a crappy d-pad?
I wouldnât think so. Anbernic makes pretty solid hardware IMO
Depends on how you feel about their previous devices, I guess
Wonder if the battery could be replaced with a bigger one aftermarket?
Why not? I think it would merely be a matter of finding and installing a replacement part, as long as it fits the device plastic case and it's power requirements đ€
I mean to say: it's electronics, not sub atomic assembly...
