#Armored Core 3

if you cant dodge, tank em, thats usually the mantra for missiles
but the missiles get me every time
yea i try that
I used a floater with machinegun to beat this mission
idk my AP gets whittled down to like 5k at least by the time the halves seperate
think about how the stability system works, if your AC isnt stable, you'll get knocked into a recovery animation, if it IS stable enough, you get damaged but wont get stunned
get the 1k round machinegun and blast him
trust
even on floaties this wroks well
i use that optional part that reduces knockback
lol
samesies 😎
it helps but float legs are the least stable in the entire game, thats their downside
a small breeze sends you into recovery
as soon as i could afford the mirage core with like 20 slots i went for it
the problem is that basically no other legs in the game can carry as much without being slow as balls to maneuvre
slow as balls is practice
but if you're really going for floats
get the faster one
and only take what you need on this mission
well yeah, thats what i meant by dodge OR tank, if you are getting hit anyways, might as well tank as much as you can while blasting
i have all the floats except the quadcopter one
yeah change them up and try some stuff
ngl, the machinegun is a staple in these bosses
because it's super reliable
lot of damage, lot of ammo
i just hope i'm actually almost at the end of the game
fast as fuck boi
not quite but past the half way point im pretty sure
btw make sure you use a long range FCS cause this fucker likes to move out of your range
alteratively manual aim
with like rockets and stuff
> past the halfway point im pretty sure
💀
i have one day to finish this fucking game
it took me 2 days of playtime to clear the last mission
I played it… once.
to be fair i had work all day yesterday
and i wasnt exactly free to play much today either
so in total it wouldve been like, an hour tops?
Oh okay. That’s much more reasonable.
Shit I gotta get in on this one. Tales of Abyss has been taking all of my free time
2 days to become the best pilot you could ever be let's goooo
Good luck. I don't think I could get through this one in three days. But I had a blast with it all month.
if you've already played an AC game I think it's possible
hardest part of the game is learning controls lol
Yeah, that is true. Also, if you know which missions are required vs optional. The game doesn't really tell you that.
yeah also that for sure
..how the fuck did that make this so easy
i even made a profit still lmao
machineguns have a lot of ammo and rapid fire
and the cost for ammo is suuuuuuuuuuper low
this machine gun is the actual broken weapon of this game
i feel stupid for trying like 8 times on that mission now
I mean, you can beat it with mostly anything
but if you wanna finish this game on time
use that
also the massive mt bssfight is not easy
it's hard, but manageable
with the machine gun it's just a joke lol
the machine gun is just worse for enemies where you wanna take your time
enything else you can just use that
yeah
okay yeah wow that was it
if you killed a giant cylindrical PC, then yes, thats the final boss
i was settling in for a good few hours of gameplay but nah
it was just that fucking mt and then blowing up the compute tube
the last third of the game is gimmick missions that if you figure out quickly go by super fast
yeah its anti climatic, silent line has a mission that makes fun of this by having you go back to that level except its all decayed and also you need to fight an AC on a moving elevator and then fight 3 ACs in the room before the tube
its an infuriatingly hard mission lol
probably the hardest in silent line
tho silent line in general is harder and has a final boss that actually puts up a fight
well final verdict ig
i am sick and fucking tired of that title theme
all the rest of the music is fine/good, but the vocals in the title/ending theme are so grating by the end of it all
TRUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
worst AC title track
rest of the game is pretty good i think
rest assured, AC3 probably has the worst soundtrack in the series
i think i need a bit more time to ruminate on my experience
but a lot of the frustrations i experienced tended to be solved by basically just doing something else for a while then coming back
its the sort of game i think i probably would have taken at least a few months to get through if i didnt have the time pressure of gotm
yeah its very much a type of game that you put down when you can progress, think about it on your spare time, then try a new strategy
the combat is.. well
i kinda like it? but i also relied pretty heavily on crutches like using a horizontal-type fcs, using the expanded lock-on optional part, and stuff like that
that is what they are for :)
oh for sure, im not about to defend the controls even if im deeply used to them, there is a reason why after silent line they became just an option and not the default, and why eventually they were phased out entirely
AC3 also has hard mode which REDUCES FCS LOCK SIZE
WHY
horror
this is why i never done hard mode in the games before AC4
but yeah, the controls are a lot smoother just with the switch to analog
even if it takes a while to get used to having all the shoulder buttons at the ready
but you can also build around that by not doing dual wield builds.
i think one of the reasons i came out of this liking the game despite getting so frustrated with it is bc i now know jargony bullshit like this
oh yeah also that, gen 3 brings dual wielding for the first time but its not until nexus that they lift all the jank from it, in AC3 its basically a moot point unless you use the howitzer
for some reason it scratches an itch in my monkey brain
lol same, but thats the thing, this is more of a knowledge game than it is a skill game
hell, AC3 was the first from soft game to have that lil help button on the stat screen that the souls games also have, because learning the stats is half the game.
the true QoL
it's a shame it only took me till literally the last mission to have a build that actually has both good ap and def scores
and then it all gets wasted on fuckin zappy drones and like, two mini-ACs
if you wanna stretch your legs a bit more, AC3 has a decent chunk of post game content
a good 2-3 hours of it
yeah for them you need to dodge
oh i mean like
good armore helps, but tanking them is always rough
i get a good tanky build and all i have to go up against is that lol
a little disappointing
Legit just dodged past the Ball drones, activated the elevator and waited for it to hit the bottom before jumping down
same
little to no incentive to killing them
"farming enemies" became a thing on ac6 I think?
Needed Dakka for the AC's
the earlier ones you just get credits for kills in specific missions
Get in that Arena, Raven!
kaiser scares me
Tank + Parking Lot
Machine Gun+Howitzer cheese works too
also i gotta say, figuring out how to turn off the weird ass texture smoothing in ppsspp makes the text so much clearer
..hm
i tried taking a photo of it but it doesn't really show up that well on camera
the more you know
I can proudly say I’ve beaten everyone up to Kaiser in the arena map in the arena. No parking lot cheese from me. I hate Kaiser though. That guy sucks.
I beat everyone without it
I really wanted to beat them without the cheese
But some flying fuckers are actually evil
I just can’t reliably dodge all those missiles. Too many. And I overheat.
