I think you're technically right but I would also say people over worry about OLED longevity in general. I have a day one Vita that's over 12 years old that's perfectly fine and I'm using an OLED TV from 2016 and I use it as a desktop PC monitor with static UI elements constantly on it and there's no burn in and it's working great. As long as you take care of your stuff and don't use it in extreme circumstances, you're unlikely to encounter any OLED issues especially for an Android device.

And the perception to my SO would be that I was “socializing” with my “friends”

So she would go off and do something and I could be left alone to find the bottom of the rabbit hole

I definitely need some motivation to get into mine. Just about every weekend I want to get stuck into some device and get it updated and setup right, but yeah, distractions...

The last time I got a big run against the backlog, I had to take an entire week off work and still only found about 15 hours.

That’s why the Gameboy stuff is so appealing. Setting up a flashcart with a few gb of roms is super straight forward and can actually be completed.

Android is never done

My x18s doesn’t have a single updated emulator for instance. Basically needs to be rebuilt

But how do I ever get time to revisit something like that? Especially when I haven’t even started on my ktr1 yet 😂
