also i know i talked about arm here before but i wanted to follow up on that, using FEX i was able to run ark on arm, this means if you have the oracle free tier you can host your ark server on it with a solid 24gb of ram and 4vcpu cores

The teleporting mainly, but you're basically loading up a singleplayer file and sometimes they have issues as well, such as players not able to join, resources not respawning, etc.

with ARK Additions mod in, I've finally tamed a Brachiosaurus the real way, Solo, SP on Fjordur

By kind of cheating.

one somehow fell into or spawned into the mountain castle at 32-65 so I could hide inside the castle and shoot it when it reared up and it couldn't approach.

i've had to manually add so much stuff to ark on linux its frankly insane

automangedmods just doesn't work because they don't ship with linuxcmd, just win64 steamcmd, mods have to be compiled on windows than moved over via ftp, it doesn't have any support for automatic firewall rules like most sservers

if you want to rent, nitrado is almost universally hated from what I've seen, and gportal has a few weird quirks with FTPing (though I didn't mind the interface it used)

Im playing a modded ark non dedicated server with extinction core, structures plus, immersive taming, super spyglass, and ultra stacks. Story: I didnt have extinction core as the top priority mod so some engrams werent there, once i switched it to the top and loaded back in i had -100 engram points, so i used a mindwipe tonic I was about level 105 and it reset me but only gave me levels up to level 84 which I wouldve been fine with but I wasnt gaining any xp at all. My friends on the server and dinos are all still gaining xp but im not. I then killed myself and made a new survivor, I was now gaining xp but once i added levels to my new character I got capped out at level 80 and cant get anymore levels.... My friends are both past level 80 and are still getting xp so i dont think its something to do with a level cap. Please help 😭

Hello guys ! I hope you are all doing fine. I wanted to know how do you play Ark with friends ? Only friends I mean !
We are 4 in total and want to play just all four of us. We tried to host a game but the problem is that we see the "Host" permanently.
It is rather odd when you know that we want to play a sort of "hide and seek". We can all see the player hosting the game from all over the map !
Does someone has a solution ?

Anyone else experienced this with gportal? I have an unofficial cluster hosted through them and through the two months I've had it I've had no problems whatsoever, but when I added on fjordur, that specific server goes down all the time due to hardware issues for days at a time. I've sent in multiple tickets everytime it does and they've been extremely unhelpful, yet I always see reviews about how great their customer service is, how do y'all get answers and results from them?
... It's extremely lightly modded with only 1/2 active people on at a time, if any, it shouldn't be a huge hardware load :')

the issue i've found is that rarely the support agent has literally any access to the server aside from seeing if its online/ofline

If you are on the same LAN as the server, it won't show up for you in the public list. But it should show up for others

There are a few ways to make it show up for you as a non-LAN server, but it isn't necessary and should mostly work fine without doing those things.

I've run a cluster of servers for a while with 5 maps at once. Trying to run just the fjordur map and it just doesn't seem to load. Am I missing a step? Even with arkmanager configured it keeps saying the map is "shooterentry" but I can see Viking_P listed on the command line

A question for ppl who hosts unofficial on consoles. I can biuld in caves but I can't seem to put crop plots in caves. Says requires sunlight. The only map this as been issue on is Fjordur. Is this a map setting? Or is there a setting I change this myself to allow ppl to place them. Don't really wanna give out a bunch of tek plots

No, that only disables them from decaying when they haven't been rendered. You can turn down/up the tamed dino food consumption, but I do not remember what else that will do for tames.

is there a way to prevent dino-storage soul-balls from being transferred? our server admins would like to limit transfers to fjordur to upload items only and no dinos.

It is our understanding that soul-balls count as items.

I have seen it where dinos from other maps show up as not permitted because they are "foreign" and was wondering if something could be set up.

I'm running a Dedicated server with S+ and a few other mods, such as CKFR, CKFR-SF and such. I recently added CKFL (Legacy) and then proceeded to remove it after realizing it massively bloats the engram list.
After removing CKFL, My engram list suddenly has duplicate S+ engrams with a zero unlock cost. The server was already set to disable vanilla Engrams with S+ varients to reduce Engram list bloat, and the vanilla engrams are still gone, which is how it's supposed to be, but now there are double engram listings for all S+ engrams.
Does anyone know how I can fix this?

if I want 250lvl in game which is possible to hit with exp then I need to specify 335lvls in game.ini (beause of ascension?), also the ascension levels between 250 and 335 should require more exp every lvl or can I just paste same amount of exp for each?

yeah, our server has had that issue on the island... we just have the players take a screenshot of them fighting the dragon and the dragon being dead and have to spawn in the trophy so they can do tek cave...

the other server cluster i play just has perpetual trophy placed at the tek cave

Hmmm okay. My cluster doesn't spawn in anything for the players, we've had people claim admin abuse for it so we just stopped entirely.

Hello, lastnight on our private server we decided to try out Desmodus taming, We succedded and got a few it was super fun!!! Desmodus is an awesome new mount and the predator style camo ability is the shizzz... We did experience a weird bug though and thought I'd ask if anyone else has experienced this.. a few times when the desmodus that was taming would go to pick us up for feeding, we would instantly respawn at our home bases.. no death, with all gear on player, like an insta portal back home.... Has anyone else had this happen?

I'm not familiar with the XBox edition, but on the PC edition often folks seem to forget to check the box to show servers w/ password protection.

Sounds like a platform issue, if they are running a server using steam, your xbox will not see his server

If friends server was using microsoft / xbox platform, that version of game to host the server then you'd be able to see it

Xbox unofficials servers are still called unofficial pc sessions (just in case some dont know), but it does sound like they're trying steam-xbox which doesn't work.

Arks crossplay availability is between steam, epic, and stadia, provided there are no mods enabled. And then the xbox and win10 versions are crossplay with each other.

Hi, first time hosting dedicated ark server here. I followed through a few guides online and the wiki page.

The goal is to set up a cluster of two-three servers which I can play with my friends on on my laptop. I have the server files downloaded, batch files running, I can see the server running, I also have done the port forwarding for 7777-7779 as well as 27015-27017.

Furthermore, I also checked the firewall settings as suggested by the wikipage, used the portforward.com tool and checked the status of those ports and they seem to be open.

However, my friend said that he cannot find the server on steam. I kind of ran out of ideas of what went wrong, is there anyone with knowledge about this matter?

I know the max achievable level is 450 or so by default, but if I have the difficulty overridden so that normal dinos spawn up to 300, would the max be 900?

The 450 max level is when dinos disappear on official as they are above the level cap. Unofficial does not have a level cap

I am trying to figure out how to add my own config settings on Beacon. I have a list of modded engrams that I want blacklisted, but I am unsure where to put them. When I put them in my GameUserSettings.ini and try to deploy and preview, it doesn't show up on the list.
