Try logging into the same map on single player, run around for a full minute so the map loads in, then EXIT and load into your cluster. Usually fixes things like this.

I use GTXgaming to host my ark server. No matter what I do it’s not upping the difficulty on the new lost island map. I want it so that the max wild Dino level is around 400. Does anyone know what I could be doing wrong? The other server settings I’ve changed are working like spoil timers etc.

On 16 you'd be looking at 480 max. 13 will get you to 400-ish. And no only change offset to 1, and override to 13

So, for some reason "Travel to another server" does not work anymore.
It has worked before, no server configurations have been changed.
I did transfer from Gen2 to Lost Island successfully, but now I can't get back.
What could cause this unusual feature?

There is a crossark cluster key that you must put in all servers for them to be linked together so that you can travel between servers.

Also make sure you have downloads enabled as that could be stopping it as well.

hmm, I thought I have explained well enough that it worked extremely fine before Lost island was a DLC and no server configs have been changed since then.

Well I guess it depends what server host you are using, but this is an option for nitrado, you put in a cluster key and copy the same key for all servers that links them together.

I would try rebooting the servers and see if that helps then, sounds like it's just behaving weirdly if the server shows up from another server and just doesn't respond when you try to transfer

If I manually join the destination server (TheIsland), and transfer from that destination server to another server (Ragnarok) the transfer works fine.

Also the terrain on Ragnarok is not solid for me, structures and assets are solid. Server has been restarted too. Really odd.
Trasferring back to TheIsland, everything is fine, terrain is also solid there.

[For reference if anyone who finds this later, you CANNOT spawn the monkeys on maps other than LI or Valg without a mod to stop them getting turned into raptors. Code for the monkeys here assumes a mod that fixes that is being used.]

grc website /dns/benchmark.htm for a dns benchmark application. Will tell you which dns servers have the fastest response for your location. you can then use those dns server IPs for your router's DNS servers or your local net adapter in ipv4

to change it on your computer, right click the little computer icon by your clock and select open network and internet settings. Then change adapter options. Right click Either Ethernet (if you have a cable connected) or Wi-Fi and select status. Then click on details. Make a note of all IPv4 addresses in the status window as you will need them later.

Once done close the status windows only, do NOT close the network connections window. Now right click the adapter for your internet once more and select properties. Next click on the Internet Protocol Version 4 and click properties on that. Click on the bubble that says "Use the following IP Address" and enter the information from the status window you wrote down in the first three boxes. In the two boxes below, choose two of the addresses from above based on which one is closest to you and enter them in the boxes and click ok.

Next click on the Internet Protocol Version 6 and click properties. Leave the Obtain an IPv6 address automatically address checked, and change the bottom two boxes to the Ipv6 addresses as listed above based on your location. Click OK and click OK. All done, you may now close the windows.

A few things, once you download server Manager decide on the ports you want to run for the server. Anything above ports 28000 should be fine as alot of games run in the 27000 range and everything else below that. So server port 28000, query 28002. Would be an example. Then set a UDP outgoing port forwarding rule on the router to allow the traffic. The rest of the server settings are up to you.

Alright so have a cluster on PS4 and I am trying to figure out to make customized dino spawn overrides not get stuck on each other when they spawn in the wild. So for example I set a group of say Dodos, made 3 spawn but they all get stuck and just stay there. if you need BP path to spawn it on that map (rather than just classname), it generally won't work when stuck in spawn INI.
Most creatures should be fine though, ocean megs one of them, so the INI is probably wrong in that case

dino looks for a list with the tag when it wants to spawn a nest, if it gets something it randomises a spot, then spawns nest at the spot

egg spawning's also handled entirely by the dinos, so just spawning a nest doesn't do anything

Me and a couple of friends are wanting to pick ARK back up with the recent DLC. We're looking to make our own private server as the official server experience doesn't appeal to us anymore. I remember using one of the lower end sponsored types (maybe g-portal) not quite sure--like 4 years ago and remember it being pretty bad.

Any private server owners out there have any recommendations? There will be be like 5 of us tops, money isn't too much of a problem as we can split costs, but all we really want is a server that can run all maps and be somewhat easy to config. Running good (minimal lags and stutters is a massive plus) with 24/hr uptime.

Mammalian Milk:

Obtained by milking female Deer, Sheep, and Phiomias through use of the radial menu. An ingredient for Sugar Candy. Has to be force fed to dinos, but this is a nutritious baby food. Will continually increase a babies food at the rate of 10 per second for 120 seconds, after feeding a baby dino Milk, it will then only request Milk as its preferred comfort food. The exception is Wyverns who will still only ask for Wyvern Milk. Milk can be fed to all babies except Scorpions, Spiders, Reapers, Mantis' and Moths. Feeding Mammal Milk to adult dinos gives them an instant 30 food. A player drinking Milk will recieve a food and water increase over 30 seconds. Regardless of what is consuming the Milk, it always has a 2 minute cool down.
Mammal Milk spoils into...
Spoiled Milk:

Does the exact opposite of Mammal milk and drains food water and health (of players, not dinos), except when given to baby Crabs, Moths, Spiders, Reapers, Mantis' or Scorpions in which case it will have the same effect as regular milk on other babies. An ingredient for Rotten Gloop.

Well bigger numbers in that last translate to bigger numbers in game. Read the multiplier and if you think it’s to low in game make it higher.

They can all be changed. All it takes is a restart. Just play around and find a balance that makes you and your friends happy.

A great example is the damage resistance configs. For one, higher numbers make dinos take more damage, one makes dinos take less

Most config is done through the INI. it's all stored in those files, just Singleplayer also has a UI for some of them. Without external programs, all server config has to be done directly into the INI in fact. Mod config also needs to be done through GUS 99% of the time. Game and GameUserSettings are safe to edit, and they're very hard to break. Worst case you delete them and ark will regen a new one. I wouldn't touch any of the other ones though. Just stick to Game and GUS and only edit under the correct headers, and you'll be fine

Note this is different to the DefaultGameUserSettings etc files, which yeah, don't touch

Yep, a lot of config isn't in the files by default (but always do a search to see if it is, double entries will mean that the stuff you add might not be used)

Well it could be double engrams, but that's only if you have, say, something like this

I have 2 OverrideNamedEngramEntries configs for the Deathworm Saddle, so the second one will probably be ignored, probably resulting in the engram still being visible despite hiding it, for example.
haven't tested much with how each config interacts with double entries so it might actually have a different result to that, but thats generally what you'd expect

For example you can reference a specific creature in both ConfigAddNPCSpawnEntriesContainer and TamedDinoClassDamageMultipliers because they're a different config

Not much experience with how it's done through nitrado's interface sorry. Ill take the opportunity to warn you though.. For nitrado you have to enable expert mode to access the INI files directly- So to edit anything that's not covered in their interface, basically- and enabling it wipes a bunch of your configs

I've been liking LI as far as adding dinos goes and I see a lot of potential for resources. Though you should be careful with the ocean spawners, had an awful overspawn of AA x turtles when I added them to darkwaterangler.. Otherwise I'd use Valg, still decent for adding spawns and has the aberrant cave

The simplest way to put it is all the free maps are pretty much Island remixes with a little bit of dlc content sprinkled in. Except CI which is more unique.. but also an unbalanced mess with fucked up spawns. Scorched is a desert, Ab is a hellish cave system, Gen1 is a few different biomes split apart with missions and hard, Gen2 is 2 massive biomes and 3 smaller ones, Ext is 2 small and 2 large biomes split by a wasteland

Best map for incorporating content is Valg, Rag, or LI imo- While I think all the DLC maps are better than them in design, size and variety is important for that and you can fit creatures better into a island-style map than you can on a map that's more themed to it's spawns

Valg has abb caves but no sea, Rag lacks any content from abberation up to genesis i think, i'll take a look at lost island.

I'd go with LI personally- I dislike Rag's map itself, and Valg is nice but LI is nicer from what I've seen so far and has some more variety than it

Valg does have a sea, it's underground. Nowhere really good to fit the volcanic X variants on it though

Technically don't even need a mod for the engrams, auto unlocks with vanilla INI will work, and then either adding resources needed for them to loot crates/dino drops or changing crafting costs. Dino spawns also, most are doable with vanilla INI. You do have more options when you look at mods though
