i never once had this issue with gportal, ever since ASA came out ive dealt with this problem at least a dozen times. But hey, they own all ASA servers so they control screw people whenever they want because what can we do. WC sold their souls to Snail Games and Nitrado just for some money and the players pay the price, just sad.

I chose to never buy an ASE server from Nitrado specifically for this reason, their support is the worst. I was furious when i found out i had to buy from Nitrado just to have a ASA server

I think 20 is the minimum because the overheads from 5 players up to 20 aren’t that much. You need a certain amount of RAM and CPU to run the map and after that the increase from adding more players isn’t much.

Hello everyone, one of our players has the problem that she can't join Extinction. She gets kicked out when creating a character, or rather she can't even get to the character creation stage. yes it is a dedicated server, and time definitely didn't pass. had a mantis growing up at was like 70% and when we logged on it was still the same %

the mantis would have grown up in < 1 hour. overnight (8 hours) it didn't grow up at all. so i don't need to check day count because he didn't grow up. so since there isn't a setting to enable/disable this, i could only assume something glitched overnight.

Mods can cause crossplay to automatically turn off. You have to pay attention to your mods or your server will not show up in the server list for certain platforms.

If you choose to use PC only mods yes. But in general, its default crossplay with no mods.

I'm not looking to give out confusing information for basic questions here.

Plus with a host, they block the use of those mods with default crossplay. So that issue will never arise unless its intentional.

Its pretty laggy and isnt the greatest performance. If you have players on less than adequate PCs or anyone on an Xbox Series S, they will have issues. The rest seem to do ok.

Island has the best perf so far. The game needs much more optimization before we can say all maps do decently.

So the public update from 23 Dec 2024, which I think updates to 58.21, is not updating to my dedicated server. The server was running fine on 16 Dec. Actually, everything has been running fine for the past 6 mos with my ded server. But now I appear to be stuck on 56.15 for some reason. Nothing has changed on my end with Windows, my router, ASA, or the .bat file I have been using.

During the update process, I see:

update state (0x5) verifying install, progress: 24.68 (11534336 / 46727128)

Success! App '2430930' fully installed.

But then when the server starts, it clearly shows 56.15 as the ark version. You can't see the server on the server list in game (proper check boxes at bottom checked/unchecked as always).

Most of the 'solutions' I read about are "just wait for the devs to fix it", but I have to ask...are others having this problem?

find the file appmanifest_2430930.acf, which should be in your steamapps folder, and delete it. then run steamcmd again to update your server

I had an issue with some of my servers not updating, and doing that resolved it.

Sorry for necroing this thread, but in case anybody finds this issue. There is another alternative instead of creating an empty map like HeyKrystal said. If you ever get the error "survivor already uploaded", all you need to do is manually delete the players backup in the server files, as long as that player is already logged in a server, after deleting the file like i mentioned they will be able to re-upload their survivor again.

Laptop is an older gaming laptop; Intel i7-4700HQ, 16gb of RAM. Will that be acceptable for an ascended server for two, maybe up to 6 people? RAM is an easy upgrade if necessary.

Felt a little rough on occasion with survival evolved - the single core performance isn't crazy on the laptop. Not sure if it was configuration however. Am hoping that ascended uses cores better?

On a 1gb down / 50mb up connection. Should be okay. Mostly concerned with CPU I think as the two primary players will be LAN.

Theres client mod versions and server mod versions.
If you are playing on a server, you want the server mod version.
In your client, updating the My Mods section gives you the client version.
Dont update those, use the version that the server pushes to you when you join.

the mod menu is just lying, they are on the current version. otherwise the server wouldn't say up-to date.

Server difficulty is wild dino levels. Bosses become easier at that point because your tames are higher level.

Alright; I've managed to move my Ark Servers to the new PC; everything works great...until I add a very specific mod (731604991 - Structures +); it was a mod utilized on the previous PC servers without issue, but for some reason, it causes my server to stall on the new PC (Windows 11); I have removed the mod and the files completely from the server, restarted, and the server will start, I can log in, and everything works great. I add the mod back, and the server just stalls out when it's loading.

I can't really go without the mod, because my previous servers had most of our builds made with this mod.

Any thoughts? Tips? Tricks?

anyone but me seeing on unofficial servers alpha king titan summoned is basically not taking any damage at all? i just tested it after a few of my players noted their mutation capped and max level capped dinos did no recordable damage to king titan. Hey guys. Idk if that's the right channel, but it seems most fitting. So, I've just made a Server on Nitrado to play Ark on with a friend. I'm on Epic while my friend is on Steam. There are two main Issues now:

1. I can see the server and try to join, but I get directed on a faulty page on Epic and don't join, then I just get errors trying to join
2. My friend can't even see the Server

Ok so I have tried a few things and cannot fix this. I have found a level 145 so higher levels can spawn, just everywhere on Ext everything is level 5-25 mostly. Have wiped dinos over and over. Difficulty override is 5 and offset is 1.

It's a story ark so lower lvls are more common spawn unless you use beacon omni or set difficulty higher it's just the way WC has it set

Not sure about how to change the loot, dont think there is a setting for that, but it's worth to search steam or reddit. For the taming, this is from ASE, and I am not sure if it works for the titans as well, but might work in Asa, just do a backup of your game setting file before changing it, so if it goes wrong you can fix it:

We have a private Ark cluster with Club Ark. If you redeem your points from Club Ark for a tier and want to download from the Ark data in the cluster (e.g. The Island), a timeout error occurs every time. What could be the reason for this?
The cluster runs on its own root server. The entire cluster has its own cluster folder.

You can move back and forth between all servers in the cluster ... with the character, with full inventory, with items in the Ark data, with dino upload. Downloading is also possible on every map. Except from Club Ark. You can see the item in the Ark data and you can start the download, but it stops with a timeout.
If you upload something between Island and Center and want to download it again, the timeout error does not occur.

I fully endorse this aspect. The decision to use a stacking mod was only made because of Raw Mutton stacking. This was (at least at the beginning) not yet possible via the game.ini

It’s off by default on existing servers but I’ve had it convert a cpl of mine automatically. Also you haven’t told me if it’s a modded map. The reason I ask is because if it’s a modded map you should look at the files through file browser or ftp to make sure it didn’t make a new folder with just the save file in it. Cause that would create the exact scenario where all the bases and dinos are there but no players in tribes. OR if you have like two island folders, one named island.old or something the same thing would happen.

My Extinction server settings are a copy of my other server (Astraeos/Abb) settings.

Players are able to just walk up to any structure and demolish it (we are on PvE)

This doesn't happen on the other servers (there is a decay timer). I've combed the settings and they look identical...

Unofficial server: The first player has beat the Ascension on Extinction. It pulled him back out of the fight and then about 10 minutes after the server crashed (there are crash logs). After the server recovered his player has poofed out of existence. Anyone else seeing this issue with the Extinction Ascension?
Also, to note...this was his second time to do the ascension. Would that have caused this issue?

Easy to figure out tbh. The character was uploaded and glitched, so it wasnt on the map for the save. But it was glitched so it didnt upload into the ob properly.
Then the map crashed, rolled back to when the player wasnt on the map. Poof no character.

On xbox / microsoft, you will need to create another microsoft account / new profile gamer tag. Link the two with microsoft family. It will give you an error if you try to login with the server and play under the same gamer tag. With Microsoft, you will have to create a server for each map and then move your character files manually when you want to change maps. You will use the dedicated server option on the ark menu to start the server. Only one server can be ran at a time. To edit the gamesettings or game.ini, you will have to locate the game files and edit them after you initially start the dedicated server.

I'm having to restart my servers several times per day while using it to keep it running smoothly...and this only started after extinction launched. So if you're not regularly restarting to correct issues, yeah you might see "lag"

If you want to get into pvp yeah, I'd recommend at least using something where you have access to the button at all times, as when a piece of armor breaks and you get hit in that spot it doesn't matter how much other armor you wear, so you'll likely get one or two tapped

You don't get something like that without either a mod messing with levels or lines in the ini that shouldn't be there. Something is modifying the default...it's not something you are missing.

technically there is nothing wrong with carcha/giga spawns on extinction. its exactly the same as in ASE but the reason why people dont see them that often cause their spawn is different from other maps. all other maps have unique spawn container for gigas (carchas are not even in any spawn containers since WC are lazy and they just forcefully injected carchas into giga spawner) so there can only be gigas or carchas spawning there BUT on Extinction gigas are in general spawn container sharing spawns with many other dinos and have very low spawn weight multiplier. So killing other dinos within that spawn container eventually will spawn giga or carcha, or doing multiple dinowipes, or restarting server with force respawn dino argument. so everything working fine there

however there is few ways if you wanna see them more often - one is simply increase carcha and giga spawn weight multis in ini (this will only work on Ext but never work on other maps for them tho since other maps have unique spawners with only gigas and a hard coded limit and respawn timer that can only be changed with mod or plugin but not ini commands). Other way is rewrite spawn container and set your own weight multi and spawn limiters for them. For example on my cluster simply setting carcha and giga spawn weight multi to 2 make a lot of carcha and giga spawning without much effort

the dev for the awesome spyglass has stopped modding so things aren't exactly up to date. I use Super Spyglass Plus on my server, and I know of Nanoh's Spyglass which might also work. Both of them are updated regularly

I got Allow Dino max level enabled I am not sure that is what is causing it I also have my difficulty offset set at 15 When I do tame a dino It's almost as if somebody already put Is levels into it.. Which only leaves me with one point And then when I use it there is no more available Afterwards.

If you want to modify the max level from 150, turn off allow Max level and look for the override of official difficulty. That value is multiplied by 30 to get the max level. Allow max level multiplies it by 5...the official difficulty. I set my override official to 6.0 for a max level of 180.

or you can keep thinking that its broken

just because their default spawn weight is 0.125 doesnt make it broken. people just get used to see gigas and carchas spawning on their own on other maps and now when they share spawn with other dinos everyone immediately crying that its broken

Update: I just increased the spawn weight multipliers for all corrupted dinos and now they're spawning fine. In case you need more proof that @wise kindle should listen about the spawn weight issues. Lol.

Now my gigas, tek gigas, and carchas are spawning at normal rates, and my corrupted dinos are spawning properly again as well.

Therefore, spawn containers aren't busted per se.
