I have a single player issue and I was wondering whether anybody could help or if I’m in the right channel. I am currently playing ark on Mac through Nvidia Geoforce now which is one of those virtual machine thingies, however in doing so as I am on Mac, this means I am unable to access game files to change max dino level to 180 as I intend to whilst playing on the island and other maps, which in my opinion massively decreases the fun of playing ark. And yes before you say I have tried using the OverrideOfficialDifficulty=6 and then destroywilddinos however this doesnt seem to do anything, so my dino wild level is capped at 180. Please help if possible

Anyone have any issues with certain console commands not working? I just tried the GetAllState command, and it didn't list any dinos with the Rock Drake creature ID. Also, if I should use a different channel for this, please let me know. I just figured since it was an admin command, this place was most appropriate.

are you on a server? make sure you put cheat or admincheat before commands. also on servers the getallstate command will put it in the log file (and server console) not the ingame console. (singleplayer puts it in the ingame console)

ARKitects Core building mod lets you hide pipes/electrical, plus has taller walls like CKF and - omg - you have options for texture changes on the building pieces. I'm using it in SP game right now - not sure if they have a generator or fabricator option yet

Your max wild level is either set to 6 or you've just gotten extremely unlucky. Eggs follow the same levels (plus 30 higher than max wild)

Posted a few days ago with no answers so here goes with a little more updates

Anyone have any idea as to why I cannot see every map in my own cluster when I try to transfer maps? I have resubbed to mods and come back and three out of 14 maps show up. Then i verified files and a different set of maps show up for me this time. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled as well. Still same thing. I have also tried to join the maps that my toon is not on and when i look at transfer it still only shows me three maps, but again they are different everytime. The ONLY thing I have done differently in the past 2 weeks is download the game atlas. I transfer to one of those maps and I can still only see the same maps to transfer to. No one else is having this issue so I know it couldn't be server side. Any suggestions? Thanks!

For a non-dedicated session between Steam and Epic:
The person hosting needs to use the website https://www.ipchicken.com/ to get the host ip , and then give it to the other people that want to join it. Port is either 27015, 77777, 7777

Person that wants to join the non-dedicated needs to do this-
Step 1: Join a single-player game of ARK.
Step 2: Click Tab to open the console.
Step 3: Obtain your server's connection information in the format of IP:PORT.
Step 4: Type: open IP:PORT and press enter.

You'll likely have to have them try rejoining multiple times as non-dedicated is buggy.

Ah that I'm not sure. But I believe as long as your all using the internal IP , assigned to the server computer by the router, it... Should be good. I haven't tried it though.

I have a windows 11 running a dedicated server through game pass. I (on a separate pc) can use admin commands with tab, but my wife on her xbox cannot. We use the lb rb x y command on a single player mode so I know the buttons work. I added her as admin but I can still pull up the command line when I'm not admin. Any suggestions?

You can make wild dinos higher level but once you tame them they won't drop level so tamed dinos will always be better.

A lot of things have to come together to have a good PC that actually runs correctly. Not saying it isnt. But a lot of people think their PC is good but it actually bottlenecks cause it's just a stock prebuilt

Ark is a very ram intensive game. And some of the new GPU features aren't supported well on the old code.

Is there any reason my in-game giga stats are super nerfed? Like... These things barely have 20,000 health after dumping tons of points into leveling whereas my rexes can hit close to 200,000 with the same amount of levels.

It's a giga. That's how gigas work. If your pt is doing more damage than your giga it's because of boosted stats.

@foggy flicker When you tame a giga it gets a minus 63k health & minus 80 percentile point melee nerf, compared to a wild giga with the same number of points in that stat. Gigas also get very little from XP upgrades, only melee is worth upgrading. If a PT is hitting harder than a giga though, it is likely you boosted how much tames get from XP upgrades. Since gigas do not get as much from XP upgrades as other creatures, they end up relatively weak.

Carchars have a similar debuff when tamed. Do note that both gigas and carchars are much stronger when you get an imprinted one; the 20% bonus to health & melee gets applied to the wild, pre nerf stats, then nerf is applied. So imprinted gigas will have roughly double the HP of their parents & much better melee.

That said, with how boosted stats work, they still might end up relatively weak, even when imprinted

That's a shame, my friends are just on the cusp of taming them. But we are playing with boosted stats. A giga won't stand a chance against any of our rexes.

Just wish there was a way to specifically over buff Gigas to compensate so they're reigning king

So I have a server.bat file that I have running TheIsland. I am able to join in on my pc and game on steam but I'm still having trouble getting my son into the server from Epic launcher.
I have tried the "open IP: Server" in the console but that hasn't worked. Any thoughts on anything else I could try?
We are all in the same house so the same router. I don't believe this would be a port forwarding issue

ok, so double checking my port forwarding to be thorough. It looks like the port forwarding for 27015 is already included in a list. Under ports forwarded there's one listed as "27000 - 27031". Would this cause conflict if it already exists for a separate purpose?

hello i am trying to host a server from my PC, and it dosn't let me join, first i had two duplicate servers both with password, one on day 1 and the other with day 3000+, one accepted the password i gave but gave me a connection time out error, the other had a whole other password.
after removing the password and restarting the server i could only find the server that did not accept my password that changed from day 3000+ to day 1. what did i do wrong?

Whatever your using to set it up would have options to set ports. Cant have two servers running off the same port so assign a unique one to each. Then go to your router Page and set up forwarding rules for the ports directed to the ip of the host machine

I would recommend removing the mods on the right hand corner of the menu and 1 by 1 by add them back. That way you can find the mod causing the issue.

Ark is a very ram intensive game. If it works then uts working as intended. Theres no "game options" that can change fps really but there are launch options in steam you can set that may help you personally

i am trying to host an unofficial server, but when i launch it and try to connect it always gives a connection time out error.
this is the procedure i followed.
downloaded steamcmd and set up as shown in the pinned video,
created a start file with the following command line
start ShooterGameServer.exe "theisland?SessionName=Misfits?MaxPlayers=35?OverrideOfficialDifficulty=5.0?DifficultyOffset=1.0?AltSaveDirectoryName=NewServer?QueryPort=27015?Port=7777?listen" -NoBattlEye -noundermeshkilling -crossplay
and launched the server.
i am unsure about the port opening, if anyone can help diagnose if that is the problem i will be grateful

I host my own from my PC, playing the actual game on SteamDeck and it works great! Everyone can join either server, and transfer and move things between servers but for some reason I don't see any server when in the tribute transfer?

Even connected to a separate internet and obviously already on a different machine and it still does it so it's not a loopback issue.

tamed levels are not the same as wild levels(wild/mutations/taming bonus)

I have a really odd question for everyone here. Does anyone know of a way to keep mods Server-Side when making a server? I want to add some pretty heavy Mods to the server, and I can, but the problem is that if I add too many mods, or too big of mods, no one can connect. It always keeps them stuck on the Loading Mods section before it eventually times them out and never lets them in unless they get lucky. So I'd like to keep the Mods Server side so they don't have to worry about the mods downloading and kicking them out for 4 hours.

afaik, you can't change specific nodes' health just them all.
harvest health (in the singleplayer menu) and ClampResourceHarvestDamage=true in gameusersettings.ini

those are the two ways to change node health. harvest health allows you to change the amount of health by a multiplier for all nodes and the clamp limits the amount of damage things can do to nodes.

Hello, I am running an ark server on my own pc just to play with my gf and it was fine but as soon as the game went into the .7 version (i dont remember the full numbers) everytime i try to get in the server it says “Incompatible Game connection” error and idk how to fix it, i am running syntac caballus settings and the same mods except the chibi and emote mods, also the gameusersettings.ini and game.ini keep resetting to default. hello there, my server is trying to do custom colors or an event type color from the past. when i went to add the ini code it doesn't seem to work.

hey everyone. i run a cluster of 5 servers on my PC using ASM for a friend and i to play on. yesterday, i tried to update all of the servers to 358.7. one of them updated, but the other 4 all fail during update, showing just 'Server Update Failed' in the ASM window. the steam CMD window seems to work fine. any ideas? i've tried running each server's update multiple times

The tek forcefield protects from radiation. If it's active when you transfer you will be safe. Lampreys also grant protection but they would probably be removed when transferring.

i have set up my own ark server and i have forwarded these ports: 7777, 77778 and 27015. i can join the server directly via my router but when i connect from outside of my network i cant interact with the world. and my friend cant join at all, does someone know how to fix this?

Hi, I am hosting my own server on a Linux machine. I have no problems hosting a single server but I am having problems setting up a cluster of 2 maps! I did it before years ago but that method is not working any longer.

I have server 1 set to the default ports, server 2 to port 7779 and +1 on the other ports. My router is set correctly to allow the range of ports (to 7780 for the main). If both servers are running I can connect to server 1 fine. Connecting to server 2 redirects me to server 1! If server 2 is running alone I can not connect, I get a timeout.

That should be fine if you can play the game on the same machine and connect to other servers. But you might want to double check the ports are open in the Windows firewall

Ok, you will want to be in advanced views for the router if you are in basic. Then you need to find where you set up port forwarding rules. This differs on router to router so I can't help much there. When you find that you need to set up the rules for the used ports, first for 7777-7778 as a single rule and then one for 27015. Both need TCP and UDP allowed and both should point to the network IP address for the computer hosting the server.

That is unfortunate, creating the basics of the server should not be to difficult. The web interface is quite user friendly.

Before you make any changes, make sure the server is turned off. Once you finished all your edits then save the changes.

The main hard part for you is if you want to do the fancy coding like drops or stacking codes that will be quite difficult given the platform you are coding on

Just turn off the server, make your changes in general settings, save the changes and turn back on the server and that is it

99% of the options you will find in general section are in Ark's main menu. So you familiar with that, then you should be alright

Hello! Me and some friends/admins of the server I play on, are trying to grant Non admins the ability to use spectator mode, the steps we have taken are not letting it work these are the steps taken so far

SpecatorPassword=******** (stared for security :p)
Non admin logged into server, opened the command line and typed RequestSpectator *********

And nothing happened, it still says request admin for the button and the non admin still hasn't be moved to Spectator mode. We are on Xbox, using nitrado and have double checked the syntax of the codes and commands multiple times, any help would be greatly appreciated! 🙂

xbox/win10 can't change the tether. win10 and series S is 50% boosted (375) while xbox series X changes it depending on the map. sometimes 10x, sometimes disabled( would assume it will still pull into caves but might not). I don't own a series X so can't test if those numbers are wrong just what I've heard.

I'm currently playing the Extinction map and want to add 11 new creatures. For this purpose, I created codes for dinosaurs to spawn and then pasted them into game.ini. When I started the game save, creatures from 1 to 7 from the list below appeared. The rest of the creatures (from 8 to 11) did not appear.

I can't send an attachment. Here is a list without codes, in the correct order.

At first I thought it was me who made a mistake in the code, but when I removed all my codes list from game.ini and only added the Bloodstalker spawn code (number 10). After restarting the game, the Bloodstalker appeared in the location I designated.

Does anyone know how to make all dinosaurs from the list appear on the map?

Apparently, what ever servers Steam servers use, have a field in the Bacic settings for "EventColorsChanceOverride". I do not see this incorporated into the General Settings for Nitrado Xbox/Win10 servers. Using the parameter in the Nitrado Expert Settings ini file does not seem to work anymore.

After triggering Bloodstalker spawn, I didn't add other creature spawn locations on the map. I mean I can only add 7 dinosaurs. But you can specify exactly what you mean.

An update has been received from the data center:
An isolated fire in a UPS located in an electrical room was detected and put out by fire suppression. The local fire department arrived on the scene, and per NEC guidelines and likely local laws and general best practices for firefighters, the power to the building was cut. This caused the down -> up -> down cycle noted earlier today.
The current state is that datacenter electricians are on site awaiting access to the building to perform repair work to the UPS, but are currently awaiting permission from the fire department to enter the building.
Once the electrical work is complete, the power will be applied to the HVAC system to subcool the facility, which will take an estimated 3-4 hours and at that point, power will be restored to data halls, which will bring our network and servers back online.
The datacenter manager has given a best-case ETA of tomorrow morning, July 11th, for power to be restored to data halls.
We will be working to relocate the game panel to another machine outside of New York in the meantime in order to restore access to services outside of New York.
Once all outages have been resolved, we will be providing appropriate compensation as per our Service Level Agreement (SLA).
We will post additional updates as we have them.
As a follow-up to this, there should not be any data loss as none of our hardware within the data center has sustained any damages.

No he was running a dedicated session so everything he log off was the same as shutting the server down he needed to run non dedicated unless he has a separate pc or console to host the dedicated 24 7

ActiveEvent=PAX is one that does work. Using Gportal the event setting should be under the Basic Settings tab.

hey, I need some help with my non dedicated server. Me and my friend played on a non dedicated server that I hosted but at a random point of the game my friend got kicked and cant rejoin ( error message : connection timeout exceeded ), So we tried recreating another server but the same thing happened. I tried oppening my ports and even disabling my windows firewall but I dont think it worked bc I m on mobile network. My friend can join now but it always takes 20 attempts and I need to restart many times the server and even my pc to get it to work. I would just make sure the server is fully shut down before you even start to make any changes and then when you do make a change and save it, refresh the page and save it again.
With nitrado I always made changes by uploading with ftp rather than their menus
