Yo people, i'm having an issue here hope someone can help me with it, I was in local SINGLEPLAYER making my egg farm on extinction, alot of small dinos, in this case dilos, breed a ton for a time, end having like 120+ in the same zone, ended with like 16 fps, so i cryopoded all of them to move the farm, and this time not only didnt the fps not go up again, but tanked into 2 to 0 fps, seems linked to the save. Changing any option, watiting half an hour, changing launch parameters, removing mods, adding them back, destroyed the cryopods, restarted pcs, tried other saves all work fine other maps and backups included. Is there any way to fix this without loading a previous backup? (kinda lost 3 bussy hours of gameplay)

I did this in Island Scorched and Aberration without any problem.

For our server using this command set up the server to destroy dinos after the next restart. So we would do the command, then restart the server

I'm having some trouble setting up a server for me and my friends. Ports are forwarded, firewall exceptions are set and the server is running, but it does not show up in the server browser, and friends can't join it directly via steam. I can join it via lan, so the server itself works.

I am a bit sorry if this isn't the right channel, I'm new in the server, but I am having a problem with singleplayer.

I logged off perfectly normal, and when I logged back on, all my dinos are unclaimed. I have all of my items, but my buildings are locked, my dinos are not mine, and the game acts like I am a completely different player.

Is there any way to correct this or fix it? I've restarted, tried "forcetame" and commands like those. None of them worked tho.

It didn't work. I tried "ForceJoinTribe", "admincheat ForceJoinTribe", "cheat ForceJoinTribe", "admincheat ForcePlayerToJoinTargetTribe (player id)" and I think one more. It isn't working and the game still believe I am a seperate player.

Looks like a corrupt save. You can try to verify files and see if that works but chances are if this only happens in single player, and you can still load in to other maps with a different save... It's probably a corrupt save. There's a anti corruption folder if you haven't made backups

There's a few different ways to limit them. There's a total per server total per tribe and then you can edit how many "slots" some dinos take up such as platform saddle dinos counting as 16 instead of 1

So I need some help getting my Ark dedicated server working properly. For some reason, some people aren't able to join it over the internet. I don't think its a port forwarding issue because some people are able to connect that aren't on my home network. Its definitely not a hardware issue either since its running on a 18c/36t host with 64gb of ram on a 1TB NVME drive. I also have gigabit fiber so its probably not a bandwidth issue either. I'm just at a loss at what else to try. Some of the "fixes" that a google search yielded such as running as admin, changing the DNS to use Google's DNS, verifying the files. I even tried an entirely vanilla instance and it still has the same result. Some people can connect, some can't.

I'm using the Ark Server Manager, which basically is just a GUI for using SteamCMD.

generally happens when there is a issue with the servers coding and the loop is a constant crash and start sequence

Does anyone know of any mods that allow non-admins from one tribe to be able to transfer structures from non-admins from another tribe? I envision this used in a sort of king of the hill setting, preferably based upon some indestructible terminal or flag that when claimed changes the ownership of all structures within a predefined range of that terminal or flag. Apologies for only seeing this now. Based on my three years of experience running Nitrado servers. The problem is with your internet/Nat type.

When players on my server had an open Nat type, they could join with no problems. Only players with Moderate to Strict had issues like the one you mentioned earlier. They were fine once they got their Nat to open.

You could try and join off the other player too.

It is due to mircosoft's word policy, 68 is a banned number. What people have done to get around it is place 00 in front. So you would do 0068

Using Beacon, I've added deinonychus to spawn sets on Ragnarok but they aren't spawning. Other creatures I've added spawn just fine. Is there something special about deinonychus that makes them not work on ragnarok?

You'd be better off using the Simple Spawners mod (if you have steam only) and adding the nests with it. The deinonychus won't be tameable (well, you can't get them) anyway without that.

Yeah actually DinoSpawnEntriesRedwoods_C is the one. I found that while they have been renamed in beacon, I can copy them and paste them into notepad to see the actual spawn container name

i just had an issue as maewings weren't spawning in my redwoods beacon glitched and didnt generate the spawn entry and now they work for me. becareful with some water entries it may cause over spawn as some only handle certain dinos from what i can tell.

It could be that the server your trying to find dosent have the update that came with it. There were two releases, one for the client and one for the server. If your using nitrado though it surly should have been updated by now. Perhaps if the server was restarted if it hasn't been

Double check that your using the latest client version. For Xbox sometimes if you sign in and out of your profile they will come up. If so might need to do a #bug-reports since for consoles there's not much else we can do

any other server admins deal with frequent lag/crash issues just with gen2? I think it's a combination of factors: the mission subsystem, and the breeding bonuses. Both add massive resource constraints, and the game server just doesn't seem to deal with that well regradless of how much system resources you throw at it. Wondering if anyone has found a good work-around for that

context: no wipe server that's been up on the same map since gen2 release. Fairly aggressive decay settings to keep build spam reasonable. Playerbase is cooperative and well behaved. Savefile is ~500mb

idk the setting, but there is one that allows foreign character and dino transfers you might have to turn off. Also make sure that you haven't allowed everybody admin rights and/or have made an admin password active so ppl can't spwan stuff in

The foreign dino setting only applies to Ab.

Make sure the server has a cluster id to prevent people from bringing stuff on to the map from single player. If using Nitrado, you can generate a cluster id in the CrossArk section.

ok so i'm confused i added blood crystal wyverns to asgard on fjordur a while back as a creature spawn (not nesting spanws just normal passive spawns) and its working fine, but somehow they managed to lay an egg in the lightning wyvern trench

So, I was able to finally upload the new Dino colour codes to one of my servers to test but the Dino’s are spawning in all the colours not just the ones I listed.

You can't 100% guarantee the quality they'll spawn at every single time, but you can get pretty close. If admin spawning, use something like this to spawn 5 blueprints of every flak armor piece. Most, if not all, should come out ascendant.

The blueprints might look like they're higher than your stat clamps, but when crafted by a player, the crafted item will adhere to stat clamps. If GCM crafting, they don't always adhere to clamps.

I run a Roleplay PVP server on Valguero. The artifact cave, Lost Temple AKA button cave AKA Artifact cave (Brute & Devourer), I can’t build any structures.

I’ve used enable cave building for PVP and enable building on/near drops but I still can’t build in the area. Is there a setting I am missing that will allow me to build in the cave?

Hi there! Does anyone know if there's a fix for the crash that occurs when you sent the givecreativemodetoplayer #playerid command (or gcmp #playerid for the short version)? 😅 Every time I try to run this command to give a player creative mode for building the server just plain crashes. So far the only fix I have found is logging into the game and applying creative mode through the in-game console which is a pain to do every time...

So I’ve put in literally 50 tickets in the past 2 months with gportal. Transfers have been giving me the “failed to fetch survivor log” or “unable to transfer please try again later”

They’ve tried moving my hardware multiple times..I’ve even changed my cluster ID.. and now they’re saying it’s wildcards fault and everyone’s experiencing the issue when I know for a fact that’s not true because I run a server owners discord and no one else is experiencing this issue.

Ark will perform significantly better on an SSD if you can manage it

HDD was like 5-10 mins load time (with 4 mods). SSD is max 1 minute on a bad day.

I’ve used enable cave building for PVP and enable building on/near drops but I still can’t build in the area. Is there a setting I am missing that will allow me to build in the cave?

i agree megachelon would be the better base between potential base size, the ability to go from land to water, and the oxygen it produces on its back, (plus if you make sure to log off in a bed you can leave the base underwater when you log off)

If it makes you feel better I have been fighting with Gportal about this for the past month, and after they have tried constantly to fix it by moving harddrives I was left with "this is your problem, not ours, its wildcards fault" so im stuck with broken servers because they refuse to do anything. Every 24 hours your IP cycles, so you don't get hacked, unless he's on a static ip probably got flushed.

Easiest way is to just add him as a friend on steam and join him off your list

This is not a server setup issue, it goes in #bobs-with-probs.
If your weight or your dinos weight is too full, it will drop into a bag. Some items, such as alpha drops, go into bags majority of the time anyway.

If you have any mods installed they can have unintended side effects in any area of the game. If you are on vanilla and having this issue #bug-reports if you have any mods installed... Couldn't say since they change the way the game operates.

On vanilla the shortcut keys do indeed work. So I would suggest contacting the mod maker

Sounds like your PC may have user account control, and non administrator accounts have difficulty editing and saving some types of files. Just right click ark/steam and select run as administrator

Hey everyone!

I'm hosting on G-Portal and have a few servers that my friends and I are playing on as we work our way through the story. I have one server always set to The Island, one we'll use to play whichever canonical map we're at in our journey (currently SE), and a third we use to switch between other maps like Rag, Crystal Isles, etc.

I'm trying to make it so that we can transport the Element we've generated from our boss fights on The Island to some other maps so we can use Tek generators, etc. I'd prefer to not have to grind for element dust and AFK to craft element, so I was hoping to do it via INI settings.

I found this string that I was hoping would work, but when I plug it into the GameUserSettings file in G-Portal, it seems like the thatch foundations are still asking for thatch, wood, and fiber to craft them, not element:

Hello all. I am new to running servers. After extensive research and video watching I finally created some servers for me and my sons to play on with success. Originally I was running them off the same PC I was playing on and all was well, but I ended up getting a second PC to be a dedicated ark server PC. Anyways, I copied all the files over, had to update some things(ip address and some direct x stuff) and viola, I had 7 servers up. Now the issue...I can see the servers and play on them with my account/computer, but my son can no longer see the servers in game, even though I added them to his favorites on the steam server menu and they are all visible there, just not in game. Any ideas?

The server list is limited and random. I'm surprised to hear that you are able to see all of them, you're quite lucky ime. Favorites and direct connect links are really the only reliable way to see/join servers.

@royal prawn So over the weekend, I had 3 up and myself and others were able to add them to favorites via the server dropdown on steam menu. After that they were able to see them in favorites on game menu. Now that I'm running servers on different PC, I am still able to see them after adding the new IP on both my server drop down list and my in game favorites. Oddly, 5 of the 7 also show up on my LAN list in game as well. On my sons computer he can see them after he adds them to the server drop down list/favorites...but still can't see them on the in game favorites list...I tired another lc woth ark on it and same issue...

Update: I may have solved my own issue. I rarely restart my primary pc and when I did, I was no longer able to see the servers with that pc. So I suspected maybe there was an update to the s+ mod that happened so fast I didn't even see it download. Copied the mod files over to the server PC and now all my computers can see and join the servers. I hope this helps someone in the future, rookie mistake I guess, wasted 3 hours of teoubleshooting...
