@restive moth i used to play solo on smalltribes ase and was able to pass by quite easily btw. Of course very often I'd get destroyed by 450 tames but what i mean is, i can handle not playing 24/7 and surviving its just that i'm hopeful in the sense they'll shake up the meta

I assume that the cryofridge requirement in ASA pvp is to make it harder for meshers. Which is good but its still hampering the game (every server one wants to scout needs a cryofridge or gen invested and is a nuisance.). A better way of keeping the best of both worlds would be to make it so cryos can be thrown everywhere regardless of enemy players, but make it so they can't be thrown near enemy foundations unless a friendly cryofridge is nearby. This way would mean meshers would be restricted to the same degree as now (as foundations in the cave can block placement or at least make it harder), and open world pvp and scouting won't have to bother with cryofridge gens everytime. The only legit players affected will be raiders and defenders, but that's fine as raiders already need to bother with raid prep and holding ground with turrets anyway, so a spare fridge isn't much in that instance and defenders more than likely will have at least one fridge invested in their base anyway. It will also make the game look better without all the cryofridges spammed everywhere.@topaz basalt

I think turrets should have their own turret limits. Instead of flat 100 turrets in a range it should more along the lines of can have 50 xplant 50 autos 50 heavy turrets 50 tek turrets in there own range. Gives a total of 200 but makes autos and xplant useful to help fill in gaps on death walls and towers

So creature votes are coming up and I wanted to ask if there’s any potential ability or balancing ideas you had for different creatures, either helping to quell issues with OP creatures or add in a feature that is heavily needed for the PvP meta.

They should do balance patches every 3-4 months to shake up the meta. These patches should buff underpowered/non meta dinos and nerf op dinos like pyromane, rhynio…

Underpowered Dinos I would buff are Spino, Ravager, Reaper, Rock elemental and Thorny.
For Spino I would give it a small dmg buff and also give it back its old attack speed.

For Ravager I would give it pack bleed when it’s tamed.

For Reaper, It should not be pickable by rhynio and I also would change its range attack projectile similar to its old state.

For Golem, I would give it like 50% reduced dmg to Tek turrets, tek rifle, increase its overall dmg by 100%, increase its rock throw range by 50%, the rock throw would also be able to dmg teslas and at last, when in rock form, it would take 90% less dmg and is immune to bleed and other status effects.

And Finally Thorny Dragon,
I personally would give it a small tlc with an upgraded model and new abilities.
I would give it a new status effect called toxin which debuffs the opponent when inflicted with too much toxin. When toxin rates reached 100% on the opponent, a debuff will be inflicted giving it 10% less dmg and speed and once you reach 20% of your max health, you will immediately die if you haven’t recovered from the toxin yet.
I would also give thorny better base dmg for the spikes and also give it reflect dmg which deals low dmg and toxin when hit by an enemy.

Now to the overpowered dinos…

Pyromane, even with the nerfs that came 2 weeks after aberration release, the Pyromane remains still overpowered.

Too make the Pyromane more fair I would give it following changes:
I would revert both the Cooldown on the meteor jump and the raw dmg nerf.
I would also buff Flame boost to increase its raw dmg by 100%.

Now the nerfs:
They should nerf the flame thrower dmg by like 50%,
Pyromane should not be able to hit mounted players with meteor jump.
I would remove its flame dmg from the basic attack for the most part.

Just create a new character, go island, spawn west zone 2, run and check red ob, if it’s blocked disconnect and do the same thing. Not ALL servers are blocked

If they’re not blocked, do a note run and get your start there

I doubt it. It makes sense. Water creatures die in vacs because it is air. On ase, one could fill the room with unactivated vacs and use tek sensor to turn them on briefly when enemy tames are near. Calling that an exploit would be like saying, using double doorframes as a cage is an exploit. After all, they are frames for double doors not a chicken wire.

the fastest option really is to farm the recourses. If you live north go to a mountain to get obsidian or if you are near south go to the hunter cave there’s crystal and also obsidian there to make polymer. Tame any ichthyosaurus and swim to the nearest pearl cave.

It should take like 20-30 minutes of dedicated work if you start from scratch

They’re the fastest tame in the game. Not bolable. Not susceptible to any kind of flyer stun.
When I say fast, I mean fast. They are literally the fastest land-running tame in the game—objectively, not subjectively.

They have a massive HP pool, can carry two players, and regenerate their entire stamina bar in just two seconds when unmounted. No special conditions required. even when the dino is at 1% hp.

They’re allowed in no-flyer zones like Aberration with zero restrictions.

Their ranged freeze attack has no counterplay when frozen. no pulling out ur shield. no tek boosting .
Velonasaurs can’t ground them. Neither can reapers. Tusos can’t grab them, owls won’t slow them, and they can still dash at full speed. Lymantria’s slow doesn’t work, enforcer’s special ability does nothing, and araneo webs have no effect. They can’t be C4-trapped. Even skiffs can’t grab them. Manas are completely immune to every form of crowd control in the game.

They basically defy every aspect of the game in a hilariously bad way.
They don’t take fall damage—which is hilarious because even flyers take fall damage.
Their high DPS and decent weight make weight grappling an unreliable strategy.

Add a saddle (like a 124 armor one), and you’re looking at a 20k HP monster that’s nearly unkillable.

They’re also the fastest underwater dino in the game.
Oh, and they’re breedable. And can have mutations!
Manas make killing any dino in the game effortless, thanks to their stamina-efficient ranged attack.
Taming one? Laughably easy. Just bring ~50 tranq arrows and some meat. Anyone can tame them.

Also, not to mention:
There are no harpoon nets in the game (glad those got removed for now, tbh), which makes Manas even harder to counter.

With pocket cryo dinos gone (thank god), there’s literally no counterplay to them.

“But Plant Z and Plant Y are counters!” Yeah, sure—try transferring those from their respective maps to Extinction when transferring isn’t even allowed yet.

weaknesses of the managarmr?

they have a relatively average sized hitbox (a bit smaller then a wyvern)
they cannot freely fly around. though they can glide around long enough to reach the world border.

Imo, the only real counter to managarmrs when extinction comes out on official will be plant y, plant z even when transfers open wont be viable at all. any good player wont get screwed by them. another one will likely be weight grappling but that one has to be very intentional. its not part of a basic kit and requires a specific character build so good luck i guess

You kinda want your raiders to not be able to just easily get a foot hold. You already have to defend the stepping stone (left) and the cliff (right) no point making it easier. It is a balance really. The more you build out, the closer safe ground is to your enemy. Make it as far that any turrets on it can't be soaked from the land where the enemy comes in.
