yup, it's no wonder this game is going down the drain for PVP when WC has always tended to the no lifers in PVP rather than create a suitable place for your everyday gamer to play ark PVP

we can see the stats, yall are NOT going to recover your numbers without implementing changes that allows more people with lives to play. Additionally, after ASA WC has clearly lost the reputation for people to buy anything of theirs without it being good either so you can't just rely on future cash grabs like ark 2.

how do you protect your tamed dinos in the early stages of the game? I am new to pvp.
I build a base, put spikes around it. But everybody could shoot them from outside.
What caan I do to protect them while I am offline?

Depends on how frequently you can get on. If you're on official servers and are on every day, put your valuables/important dinos in upload. If not, make your base small and hidden, don't use anything that'll be too large until you have heavy autos, normal autos and plant x are generally easy to run without soaking.

Generally, unless you have a cave with a death wall and safe room for them, I'd recommend putting all of your dinos in cryo once you have a small turreted base setup.

I mean. prim bobs got what they wanted. Ark reset to zero like the good old days right? Island is such a good map and all that. Except Ark reached its highest player count ever on fjordur release, came after both gens where influencing the game and had creatures from both 1 and 2. As bad as genesis arguably could be, even despite nets and manes it was a better game than early ark. People continue to play ase with these 'garbage' maps and despite no support or major releases or official servers still beat asa in concurrent players on ASA centre launch marginally but still embarrassing. ASE official servers should be brought back, ASA is a failed experiment. Every pvp youtuberplays asa once on launch for the uptick trending views and then leave promptly back to ase.

i mean yea gen did handouts making rescources easier but is carting about on an argy anky back and forth or quetzal or rhynio really that fun and engaging? Or walking dinos across the length of the map? I mean it is harder and i had fun on prim plus official pvp. But the numbers don't lie. The game is better on the tek cryo mode

only things good on asa i see is they fixed grapple crutch, added the remote crafting and the foundation snapping. But ceiling turrets took away building skill, carts allow cheaper racer cheese for land bases. The graphics are a double edged sword that stop many playing

I use walls, three wide foundations in the front. Split the rider over 2, let a ceiling hang off the edge. Wall up, 1 ceiling over the racers head then make a 3x wall in rhe front all the way to the ground. I like to make a shaft on the right side of the racers with hatchframes so I csn drop down and c4 cages. All depends on what you're trying to accomplish though

They need to make mosa immune to tuso grab or at least make it so grabbing a mosa locks the tuso in place, so it can't just be flipped out of the water. If they did that then mosa's might be useable.

That is teaming, raids are between the attacker and defender on smalls but good luck getting anything done about teaming

The ruleset on smalltribes pretty much is that you can attack a tribe with tribes if its 2 different spots. As soon as its on the same spot it becomes illegal.
In the case that there is a third tribe attacking a fob thats at someones base the thirdparty tribe is the one who gets devwiped not the maintribe defending.

Big tribe Ark in general is ideal Ark imo. You don't see these problems with big tribe pvp. Cheating is also way less of a problem on big tribes and cheating is also less effective on big tribes. Getting offlined is less of a factor compared to smalls. Then on top of that most of the successful 6 man tribes are just account sharing anyway so it's not really 6man. I think people just play smalls for the rates and to have more personal stuff.

I would say its mostly because of less lag and bcs on smalls it actually matters what 1 player in a fob is doing, on 1x you can raid with 50 npcs and 2 good raid leaders so i would say smalls pvp is more skill dependant.

Tribe sets up base inside cave, then creates a second tribe to create a wall at the entrance. They never log on to the second tribe except to refresh decay timer, so it stays in orp and is indestructible. Pretty sure that's how it works, anyways

Scorched earth church cave with a pyromane, if it isn't built in, gives me more than penguins because they infinitely respawn. You simply go between the entrance and artifact killing all mantis you see.

Better than penguins because you don't have to wait 30min between respawns and can get a high weight pyromane to hold far more than pelican

It really is a sad state for PVP when you HAVE to travel to other maps to fight people unless your being actively fobbed on since ultimately your zerg/no life players will gap all the other tribes on the server

on ORP you just had to fly around and you'll easily find someone online to raid because ORP had an actual built in mechanic where just mindlessly adding new players to your tribe will actually punish you if they aren't good enough since it will increase the amount of time you can be attacked

so no one could take over the server just using brain dead strats

on top of that people could rebuild after getting wiped since they aren't immediately going to get wiped again when they are offline, which allowed for the cluster to always maintain a good balance. Unlike regular official where after you wipe all your enemies off the server they are gone for good
