That’s not true, at the end of ark evolved it was way to easy to raid bases but now with terrain turrets if they restore old cryos it will be more balanced this time around because it forces the raider to take more time to soak or blow the turrets up as well as they have to put more effort

It’s not hard to adapt, everyone adapted to it the second they released it’s just a lot more boring with the change

Progressing in smalls solo is hard you don't need to get a good base spot and build up turrets and ammo you'll always be raided because you won't be online enough. My suggestions is finding a super hard base sport yourself not from YouTube or building a raft base and putting it inside a wall as a solo player this is the only way to survive on smalls also having bunch of purlovias hidden around

I also play smalls with a friend just the 2 of us we dont play alot we've built on scorched in a spot (rathole)where you can only access it via a chair and somehow still got raided I'm not sure how though probably mesh but if you're a solo a hidden base is better than a base with turrets and such

Well I'm not solo. My tribe currently is actually maxed out. At least 2 of the member are unlike me in that they have plenty of time and are actually pretty good at pvp. So I suppose we'll figure it out. I gotta lean on them a bit more

Official right now is for the ego boosters pretty much. It's full of dupes, esp and hacks. The only people that play hard are the ones who think it's some type of irl achievement, because who really enjoys playing with all that lmao.

Sounds like apologetics to me, a trend I generally noticed for a while, with people first trying to claim things most likely won’t be that impactful and if they are they go like, oh it’s always intended to be like this.

The thing is, they were exactly planned as pokeballs, and not as a mere storage system. Just look at the old Extinction expansion set launch trailer, you see a char traversing the wasteland and casually popping out a Dino to help another player fighting in the wasteland and taking off.
This more than clearly shows the original idea and intention of it: to have a pokeball like item that allows you to pop out dinos on the go when you have to fight enemies you suddenly encounter - not at your base

You can craft them in a replicator for example and aren’t forced to craft in your inventory with a BP, that’s much faster and more efficient as otherwise you’re „stuck“ with your char for a bit while you craft a lot of them.

Enemies can stop you throwing out tames in your own base, most caves are extremely difficult to push into the first parts especially if enemy tribe has good response time, the beaches are littered with 1x1s and cryofridges

Its about 1 and a half foundations longer than medium turret range. Can't remember the actual range. Sadly we don't have dino leash yet for range finding

indeed. It was much easier to get up to date competitive stat lines when richer tribes carry around tames in cryo. They get the convenience of moving stuff and smaller tribes can get a leg up. It was a good risk reward balance. Now you need a fridge so everyone carries a pocket fob.

the easiest way would be to spawn in singleplayer, go gcm, create a line of foundations with a heavy on the edge. Put on high and fill, then leave tribe and see at what foundy it shoots you at.

your missing his point. There are mega tribes i.e much bigger than just 6 players all built in their *heavy quote ''small tribes'' on a map... Not just that but in such groups people account switch. You pull up to a base the one guy online notices, hits up dc and buddies from 'other tribes will log in for a full 6. On ase we gave up defending our Snow north during covid as a tribe known as PHG did this. We had 1-2 online defending at anytime. They had a full 6 man for the full 48 hours we defended.

If they raid legit 3 or 4 people can defend pretty well but they are still easy meshed and they can build vacs as foundations above and fortnight right into your pearl. pretty strong online but enough offline time and they will get in. also depends what resourses and dinos you have if you dont have tusos and things to take the fight to them then you will be at the mercy of even greifers and have to defend inside and wait them out.
