if you're a 15man tribe you will get wiped out of ice cave relatively quickly if you're not adequately prepared

but i know right now several small tribes that live out of pearl caves less secure than the hard uw one

in ase we built the 'kurtis rathole' in the ocean on all 3 PC nomissions genesis servers alongside the reaper king lunar cave, several of the 1x ocean cubes and blocked off big lunar but used it to farm ele
nobody could effectively push the underwater rathole with it built properly until some time months after ASA announcement when we got double turret capped while enemies were spinning to defend the turret caps on the outside and putting 20 c4 per andrew (used an exploit to put 10 per player and 10 on bulbdogs on their shoulders)
as long as someone was streaming logs, we didn't need to worry too much - fobs rarely arrived at multiple of those at the same time and people only ever sent small~mid size grief teams

i'd say we usually floated around 5 murican actives, 3 oc actives and 3 eu actives between those 3 servers

and on asa, if you're not investing >20 people, you're not getting past the front tunnel of basically any reasonably built island land cave

no, its fixed amount of hours the server owner sets, one i play is 3 hours, official on atlas is like 8 or 9 hours.

conan has same system but server owner sets a server wide fixed combat window, so everyones 'in combat' at same time, but that design kinda forces the server to be timezone based.

@vapid abyss Increase the spawn chance of alpha deathworms. I believe its at ~2% now, need higher chance because the black pearl buff really only affected the alpha deathworms. Its useless if you almost never see them and if you do it might despawn before you even get to it (fix that too thanks). What exactly do you want in an ark experience?

Stability and longevity. With officials i know what im getting, while there may be some hackers occassionally and some griefers and slow gm response i know exactly what im getting on official. On unofficial its up for grabs on what im getting which includes... getting server wiped, potentially abusive server owners, which include power trips, favoritism etc etc, it also means frequent patches and events on official where as unofficial can be ddelayed or none at all, server potentially being turned off due to reasons such as low pop, cost, owner quits. With official it removes 99% of these things that could potentially happen. Im not willing to chance my free time on what couldd happen down the road on unofficial.
