i assume you mean cryofridge, and the pods will just drop as a bag just as any other inventory does such as vaults. you cant c4 dropped items on ground, nor could you c4 a cryopod at a split second someones throwing it lol. and cryo soaking has been fixed.

but yeah you get to steal any dino in any inventories, including cryofridges. that is the one 'risk' to cryopods is dino theft if you get raided vs them killin your dinos.

Ahh damn, I wish WC buffed the cryofridges and put a cap on the amount of cryofridges in one area. I’m a solo on small tribes and have been getting griefed. It would be nice to make it more difficult for folks to grief your Dino’s.

I guess I could make one fridge for each Dino to make it more annoying to grief and surround the fridge with walls.

People already use cryofridges to protect their structures due to how cryofridges work LOL. The last thing we want is to make them stronger.

They make it so damage doesn't splash, so instead of putting vaults on their structures they are putting cryofridges on them.

build double doors, put cryo fridges in front of the double door and stack it. takes 2-3 rockets in 6x even to destroy fridge, the fridge absorbs the blast protecting the metal structure.

obviously dont place if it lets you do that, but theres some places like lava that i see good for cryo spam where you still have turrets covering the cryo so your getting shot from all sides.

specially since higher ceilings out of any rocket range cant be destroyed. so yeah cryo spam with turrets above the cryos gonna be one painful push.

I had someone use only ceiling/wall turrets but on a server with OG cryos. We just ran past them on stegos and blew the gen. Inside ice in 20 minutes.

I don't think cryofridges would have slowed us very much. We had entire tribe on and they were offline.

well if your able to survive long enough to reach gen with a stego wall vs ground vs ceiling isnt gonna matter there, grounds gonna be worse for not gettin survivor splash dmg. but yeah now not having stegos in ice and no speed stat def is changing things, gonna be harder to do with birds.

something that wasnt mentioned in patch notes is structures does block cryos too, so with how ice is laid out, your never going to be able to get a stego in there unless you like terror bird foundation wipe the entire inside lol

but theres some spots you can put foundations youll never reach with a rocket run, so that wont work

and clearing railings is gonna be a lot of dead birds

but yeah in offline none of it will matter. really all about slowing people down just a little to give more time to react in online defense before they reach a genny faster than you can do something.

but in your example, ice should never be genny dropped by a stego anyways though lol. theres plenty of elevated spots for gennys in ice.

im honestly a fan of the cryo changes as i like how its restricting what tames can be used to raid caves

and its gonna be interesting to see who all gets screwed thinking they can throw cryopods to defend then their cryo is blocked due to nearby enemies

It would be unbalanced to give different hitboxes to different characters

Because then you have people making tiny characters to run around and dodge bullets, which isn't what was intended when they put the character customization in.

This way, you can make a character you actually like instead of a goblin, and you won't be hurting yourself to do it

Agreeable on the lacking importance of sniping in many (though not all) raid scenarios, however the hitbox should reflect the character shape - if they don’t want characters to be too small or too big then they should limit the customisation accordingly at least in PvP.
If there is a hitbox/character mismatch it is definitely not ok regardless, and it might be unintended tbh

I think the point was about the perceived (I am not playing atm so I don’t know if it is there or not) character/hitbox mismatch and it is valid, not about who has the biggest ark raiding member

It's annoying but not game breaking. The only way you're gonna kill someone sniping is if they stand there and let you anyway.

The only time I get to sit there sniping is if the other tribe has someone who can get distracted by a game of tag.

I'm the weakest raider in my tribe so I can sit there and pull attention while the boys make plays LOL.

we had one of the tribes we raided off try to come back recently as they got wiped on the server they were on, and wanted to ally but we kept knocking em down till they stopped trying. they got lucky and raided our starter base while it was being redesigned and found bunch of cryos of all the abandoned starter tames we had left there (person redesigning slacked off on turrets and shouldnt have left those tames to begin with) and tried to soak an unfinished tower (and some how died on a stego to heavies??? and showed up in logs to let us know), but thankfully we found the stash and got it all back lol. but was a nice surprise pvp moment.

and GG to dieing to like the 1 of the very few turrets i actually had named lmao.

we figure they either accidentally dismounted or someone else ran up too close.

Its not about being afraid to get hit, it's about being able to progress as a solo or small tribe. And no don't say play small tribes then because the small tribe servers don't work. The tribes just team together. The main problem is that no matter how defended a base is it takes less than I'd say 2% of gametime to destroy a base with nobody online than it does to build it. So on pvp official if your solo your limited to only hidden bases, which are honestly always safer with no turrets at all. As turrets just make it less hidden and aren't much of an obstacle to raiders.

Ya so your best bet is to just let it load all the unofficial and then sort by player count

Official orp with no pincodes and no orp where cave damage applies would be a vast improvement on official pvp.

Big tribes are just afraid of orp because it means they'd actually have to pvp against other players instead of just being able to hide in progressed bases and controlling any other tribe trying to progress on their server

Transfers opening will actually make it worse, the big tribes will have to make more of the map unplayable to prevent other big tribes from being able to transfer in and fob up.

It's the best of both worlds because really on orp big tribes can still be the same ,but the big difference is that they can't possibly keep all smaller tribes and solos from building on orp because even when they find your base it's likely to be offline, and they have no idea when you'll be online again. So you just end up under their radar.
Heck I did alpha broodmother and had teks on official orp pvp in ase

What was also crazy was even if the player count on a orp server was low, say 3 players or less, I could often find them to pvp because they were usually another small tribe or solo instead of a big tribe breeder just sitting in their base

hardcore was there im pretty sure day 1, or at the latest week 1 as i started playing at the end of week 1 of when ase was originally released. I had my first 85 hours on a HC server for ASE. It was server 385.

the way id do orp is if there is an active pvp going on and everyone logs it doesnt engage for 1 hour, else it engages in 5 minutes. disable use of pin codes, teleporters and beds if orp is engaged. disable protection if any blue tag is nearby.

I went from hardcore server to ORP, never bothered with regular pvp.

when i ran my own conan pvp server i just implemented ORP manually with the rules i laid out above. if the tribe legitly needed to go soon as raid started id give them 1-2 free passes, but if they intentionally abused combat logging, id let the raiders have free access to offline raid.

It is a pretty generalized claim given that every base is different and everyone builds their spot differently(also why I excluded some caves since obviously having tons of choke points can stall for awhile) but there really isn't many bases that will last when tons of pre-built racers/quetzals/megachelons/deinos get ported in and inted into the base. Even if you don't get all the way in, you can definitely deal enough damage to move up your fob further and resume the next time they log in(which if you have a dodo or something outside their base that gets killed when they log in, you will know instantly).

@wide wren @topaz basalt Idea for mesh kill improvement, on movement, if its been 5-10s since last mesh check, do a ray trace straight down, and at 45 degrees in each north/south/east/west direction, if the trace doesnt collide or exits the maps standard base level of normal player zone, mesh kill them. theyd least be stuck to inner layers of mesh then which would be much more limited and never be able to free fly around the open mesh.

It depends how many people are getting carried through if it’s 3+ people it may not be overpriced but if it’s just 1 person you’re getting scammed

It depends how bad you need it too, once transfers come out the prices will start being more fair because no tribes hold a monopoly over certain things

keep genny off ground, elevate, lots of ceiling turrets out of rocket range. make sure pathway to the left has more turrets deeper past it as they are going to try to hang left and run past the room, make sure they end up running into more turrets. use the first huge room with the rammp into the tight cave for a 2nd death room so they end up going no where safe.

yes, the dedicated server is free, it is no longer required to use nitrado. You just gotta download the dedi server app and not the full game. look up some guides on it.

it is kind of a goal to spam to block enemy dinos too, hence railings. they block titans even. but with ocd spam they can go between with titan still, so you have to put railings in the middle of the ocd too (span out a T).

good way to make a tower titan proof is to simply spam it with railings so its forced to blow through spam to evn reach tower while getting shot.

but there is the balance of it also being a pain for your own dinos lol

I’m a game like ark I’ve noticed that people can inside you, is the game meant to be played this way? Or is it just something the devs can’t fix?

It would be very hard to "fix" as its your fault if you get insided and its a lot of work to roll back a server to the point before the inside but if your tribes owner account is spoofed (steam account not hacked they just access the account from another steam account or something like that) they would rollback the server idk if they still do it but they did in ark 1

that is why it's hard to get into a megatribe, because there has to be a level of trust with anyone you tribe in

even though insideing isnt considered cheating it is looked down apon and will get you black listed and good luck getting into any tribe after that or have anyone even thinking of trusting you

Couldn’t you just make another account on discord? I saw that people who hack do that. Like instead of recruiting someone to a tribe who cheats they have like a floater account they hop on and let it get banned after an hour or so of cheating and it gives them the edge in pvp.
