This is horrible this is so pve based updates its not funny wtf no more giant hatchframes we get these weird trap door things. Caves are so bad anyone with a brain can wipe em in 2m using a deino when they come out or just rush with stegos. Optimization is so garbage that on 64gb ram 4070 oc and a ryzen 7 5700 x at any given setting low high epic medium at any resolution or dlss/in amount of tweaking settings i can barely get 60 fps and yes i have the fps cap off. Aswell as u cant even join a server.

We've taken down the Official Network as we've identified an exploit that has allowed players to get admin powers. We're working on a fix for this now, among some other issues (crashes) and we'll be rolling out a server update to resolve both of this. This update will also wipe all existing Official Server saves, regardless of game mode, and we'll be launching with some additional servers.

4070 Ti 12th Gen Intel Core i7-12700F 32 RAM 2560 x 1440, 165hz Monitor

Turned off all "extra" settings such as motion blur, light shafts, etc.
On all epic, it was 25-35 roughly. (With shadows on low)
On all high, it was 40-50, though stuck around 45 mostly. (With shadows on low)

Comparison to ASE;
All epic + shadows, light shafts, etc (minus motion blur cause I get ez motion sick) I run on 90+ (mainly upwards of 120) fps without issue.

8 years of development for ASE yet the remastered edition of this wonderful game runs worse despite all the experience, was nothing learned?
Idc about oh! But look at the baby dinos! I had Kraken's Better Dinos Mod adding baby dinos in already for myself.
The building system is fine, despite being an obvious rip from Atlas.

Its a long term game, they set the system specs with what people will be running in 3 years or so not what they have today. It’s feels shitty but it’s honestly the right move. I mean hell a very good chunk of arks playerbase can’t even play with the current requirements. How about instead of worrying about graphical exploits, we do something about account sharing on SmallTribes / Conquest servers? It's against Steam TOS, not sure about Epic, and it provides an immense advantage and source of stress for anyone hoping to remain relevant in the competitive environment.

COC says we can’t do simultaneous raids on one base with multiple tribes, the only way around that (for raiding an alpha for example) would be to rotate what tribe hits the base at different intervals. Tek gens no longer have particle effects to indicate range, and you cannot change range
C4 damage has been nerfed by 75%
Cables have been removed, elec genny can power at range
Bosses can be started from transmitters

Hey wildcard, here's some suggestions on how you can fix ASA before it dies because of the lag, fps drops and terrible "features".

  1. Add cryopods (Maybe not right now, but sooner rather than later)
  2. Fix performance issues
  3. Remove turrets snapping to the ceiling. Literally anyone with a brain knows this is a horrendously bad idea.
  4. Fix the controller aimbot bug.
  5. Add hatchframes back into the game
  6. Fix character sizes. There is no reason a character should be smaller than a dodo. They're even smaller than on ASE.
  7. Lower the price. There is no reason a game that barely passes as a remaster and is more of a port to a different engine and extremely buggy at launch, that nobody can even run and is still in early access should be $40.
  8. Listen to your community please for the love of god
  9. Add ASA to GeForce Now for those of us that can't run it at more than 30 frames.
  10. Maybe consider remaking the UI at a later date. Most people seem unhappy with it including me. People loved the simplicity of the first games UI because it was easy to look at and wasn't overwhelming. The old UI actually fit with the games style but this new one just isn't right at all.

The community would have been much happier if you had just ported Ark to UE5 like you were supposed to instead of releasing a polished, trash version of the first game like every other game studio in 2023. You've ruined all the balancing your studio has carefully crafted over the last 8 years in 1 day.

WildCard choosing BattlEye to be their Anti-Cheat software is a Big L.
ConanExiles uses BattlEye, and all of their Official servers are Plagued with Hackers because BattlEye does not work in the slightest.

Im confused why none of it was tested, I think all of us could care less about the factor of surprise with a game. I believe we’d all rather these companies just be public about development to actually listen to the community and address /make changes the player base wants especially in the sense it’s just a remastered game, we all knew what it was gonna be regardless

Same shit happened with Atlas, they took some time to fix it. Then we dealt with a moderatly buggy mess for the next few months. Same thing here, we already paid the $40 now we just gotta wait to play video game 🫠

I honestly can't get enough of watching people fall to pieces over a rough launch of an early-access rebuild of an insanely ambitious game.

tl:dr - the improvements made to the game are awesome so far. It's gorgeous - way more than I expected. The redesign of the map is awesome. Building system is better. Character creation is well done. Once the server issues are resolved, there's not going to be much to screech about.

That said, some of us would love crossark clusters. We don't want to restart on them if they're released at a later date.

edit: Wildcard doesn't host the servers. Maybe yell at Nitrado for being a terrible hosting company like we always knew them to be.
