Imo no. Was it a big problem before, imo again no. It was fun for pvp. Has the community made a big stink about it, no!. So I don't think so. But then again no one knows forsure, and they're not gonna give you a definitive answer

It was a big problem I play on Xbox and it was hard to transfer to other islands if u didn’t have a transmitter people would put massive turrets up around the obs and if u got close u would die and they would come out and take all your items it was mad annoying

My personal fav rat holes on Ark Ascended are the king titan rat hole (you need sinoma / lots of grapples / tek chest to get in and out of), a gen 1 rat hole in the bog biome (however it is in a mission zone so it needs to be an unnofical server or a no missions official), gen 1 snow biome rat hole and extinction sunken forest tree rat hole (which you need to use fishing nets and pillars to build in) (All for a solo / small tribe as they are compact and have no breeding area)

No it wasn’t, it was a bandaid for the utter shit show the turret limit caused making it all but impossible to defend land bases well enough to avoid meat runs. No cryos makes 90% of caves useless outside vault rooms to big tribes just like it was before turret limit. Cave meta is dog shit compared to how the game used to be. Hopefully turret limit has been heavily buffed but it’s just as likely WC would prefer a less defendable meta to keep things fresher. Cryos make servers feel dead compared to preturret limit. Cave meta is boring and something wildcard actively fought against until turret limit removed any other choice.

In my opinion orp does alot to balance the game, they've removed the obvious exploits from it. It should be the norm for the game, considering if your not on orp your stuff is much safer without turrets if your ever gonna log off.

So without orp only megatribes exists. That or just solos who put there stuff in a vault in the ocean.

I mean no orp is even so bad that small tribe servers get dominated by mega tribes, they just exists as several tribes.

No real PvP involved... those "raids" are even easier than PvE imo

Longer cryo timers to move tames would make it better and harder for x server raiders. Only time you can uncryo quickly is when you have a nice big hatchery or something.

Cryo timer is good enough, most people literally rather cryo sick their tames and also, if cryos are removed everything will get way harder on normal progression not only with breeding but for example if you pulled a tame out of upload, you'd have to wait a good day just to put it back, for early game progression its a good idea but in later progression Ark will end up with a lot of hate, and they already had gotten a large amount of it due to the temporarily loss of cryo pods

Not to mention raids will be way less the worth due to cryopods being the only way you can loot tames from another peoples base, minus eggs of course

Lastly if you're a breeder you're out of your mind but if not you don't know how much of a blessing cryos are😂

I'm sure the no cryos phase won't last too long. They do improve the game/performance. To me the big difference with no cryo pvp was when you raided someone /got raided it was a meat run instead of stealing their dinos.
Also there is the side note that many bases were weaker , due to having to be bigger or have a dino yard where you could use their own dinos to block most turrets line of sight.

the ingame slider is offset not difficulty. if you are on win10(microsoft store/gamepass) or xbox use the force max difficulty checkbox.
if you are on steam/epic there is a pin in #bobs-with-probs to fix difficulty as the checkbox is broken.

some maps will go to the correct difficulty with just the offset tho it has to do with the map's default difficulty.

Speed had such a hight point rate on ps4 to where weight was rather kinda lacking, we could carry a decent bit but not anything past like a kit or two

For most players at least, foot pvp was rather big at times

Late years it changed to more Dino pvp, but people still kept their freakishly high speed

-main reason why kits tended to lack more of the heavy end stuff you'd typically want in your kit

Pvp ended up getting pretty irritating because most tribes would just hover over they turrets, I 1v3d and killed 2 of their tames with a giga and mana, they setup 3 turrets up a cliff like bobs😂
It was pretty sad because new players never got their pvp experience, instead meeting a raft with a decent amount of autos

If you can't fit your DPS tames In and out of a cave like rex's gigas quetzals for picking or the new dino on the island. You still can't fly in them. good luck farming. You really see them making every cave entrance that big you can fit every tame into. ? You'll have no choice but to have an outside base. You build in a cave and can't get important tames out to defend with. I.E no cryopods or transfers. You're just going to be starved out at that point. Will caves be super important down the line sure would it be a Great place to store your items and breeders sure but you make that you're main base good luck.

O I definitely plan to live in a cave at a future point. Obviously once you've got TPS and such for sure that makes sense up until that point. Or you're tribe just locks off the server super early. That all makes sense but if you're not a mega or going in super deep. Taking a cover before all that just runs the risk of you being starved out. If the enemy gets the outside of you're cave on lock and you've got no other bases. No transfers till scorched earth drop. That's going to be rough.

Not difficult to get around this. Walk babies inside cave and raise breeders in there. And inside is where your loot and materials will be. Caves will still be the meta. I wish they would fix things like boxing in racers/quetz to make outside bases more viable but sadly they haven't said they are doing any such thing.

So you'll like have at max 3 decent size tribes on a map and a handful of hidden bob bases

You also can't walk soakers into the cave to soak... just use the Teleporter which the larger cave tribes will have fairly quickly.

well if you were going to have tp's the first stage would be to wipe all your tps. If every tp is in a cave with you have 0 move speed turrets set up far enough away from the cave you're not rocket running it. you can't use dinos to push back out of the cave's so now your still stuck inside your caves till xfers open. Obviously if your a large tribe that locks the server down right away none of it matters. Its all a early game issue.
