Tried expanding my base to the side so I can have a water area and now can't place anything on my main base because it says too many structures nearby, haven't finished the expand but I can still build in that area, worried about picking up anything I did on the expand as for some reason its connected to my main base and had to rebuild part of the ceiling from my base after I tried picking up part of it earlier, any tips or suggestions? If there a good strategy for the Alpha Outpost defenses on lost colony that does not require using a reaper wall to keep the zombies out

Having a pretty tough time with these defense posts and I pretty much play solo

I have mutated Ossidons with like 31 melee mutations but it’s still just not enough to hold the line.

Before transfers I always rode a reaper because you can move quicker than an ossi and troubleshoot different areas faster. Plus they can deal with the OP brontos. But I would use a bunch of strong ossi's on aggro at each entrance as well as building as many turrets as I could. Carchas obviously are great now but still struggle with the brontos a bit.

Yeah virtually every loss I’ve had is because a bronto spawned on the side I wasn’t directly guarding, and got too close by the time I got to it. Good advice for the reaper though, I’ve been trying to tame a fresh one. I can’t upload or download Dino’s rn, my game crashes every time I try since lost colony came out

Even with the reaper you still need to be a bit lucky and on top of it almost immediately. I've had them just walk straight through 6 ossi's and one tap the vault. Getting down to shoot the ankles yourself is very risky because one swing and your dead. But at least the reaper can reliably bite their ankles, all the other large tames really struggle to hit them. If you have decent deinotherium with good saddles they can help too, their ai attacks can hit the bronto ankles. Good luck

Raw meat in a high food maewing, blood pack is best food for them but because of the way ark handles dinos eating if you leave render, they can starve on them if you aren't rendering them. They don't eat cooked at all.

How many Rexes and Therizinos r safe to go alpha Overseer? Both dino types r at like 55hp/md basic stats with no mutations with clicked lvls, they did island bosses pretty fine. (Offical pve)

20 will get the job done, assuming you make it there with all of them, the 50 you can take is total overkill. With good saddles 40hp and 40m is sufficient for all island alpha bosses.

The boss can be done with a shotgun however and a couple thousand shells on official with a max shotty and a tek suit.

Tek cave is a logistical nightmare to navigate an army, shotgun method is pure simplicity.

Theris yeah, dont use rexes unless theyre wildly overpowered. They can't heal with cakes and won't have enough damage output to kill the dragon before it kills them. 5 fire breaths and theyre dead, 6 if you bring a pig.

Theris are the boss problem solver. Rexes are simpler since they dont need cakes, but theris are guaranteed to get the job done.

Assuming you don't get nuked in the saddle by minions, of course.

I'm already giving up. I don't know how to collect this set on Alpha Rockwell. I've obtained 1 Ripper Alpha, 20+ Alpha Karkinos, and not a single Alpha Basilisk.

My theory is that only so many alphas can be on the map at a time, and basilisks are prone to getting meshed. So those meshed alpha basilisks may be clogging your spawn.

If youre on a server that can do a Dino wipe, id recommend one every couple of days.

They feel insanely overtuned

If they spawn on a side of an outpost you’re not directly guarding, they have plenty of time to get a hit on the outpost before you can even shoot out one of the legs.

Hit box is literally half the size of the outpost and due to the damage hopping off your mount and shooting the legs out is rarely viable

Like they’re fine if you have an actual player guarding every avenue of attack, but on solo it’s pretty much a guaranteed fail if you have to stop to shoot the Bronto

It would be nearly so bad if they didn’t kill the outpost in literally 2 hits lol

@grim charm I hope you have some luck . You can always do an island note run then upload (when they fix it) your character and go to another map and not have to be a level 1 bob. As for land. its still a PvE wasteland of pillar spam while they can sell the land I'm affraid.

Hey so just a little reminder, when servers are offline and down like they are, everything is paused. Which means no dinos are eating, dying, nobody is on or moving.
No wild dinos roaming the map after your cheeks,
Its just like youve paused any other single player game

I agree 50/50 .. Offical can be good if u make the point clear your tribe is someone no one want to mess with because you have no bad feelings to punish people for the behaviour.. biggest problem is Offical turns a bit more in to a selfish, greedy shit show

Official is more challanging, discarding the bugs and pilars and other obvious problems. People struggle to reach on top, unofficial might have same challange but it have unrealistic high level dinos, mods, x100 rates and such and if the owner doesnt keep server active the server shuts down cause or he or age got tired and that wile in few week a you got fast the stuff and get bored

My issue with official isn't really other people. I'll deal with griefers personally, my issues are mostly with game performance and frustration.

Lag, ping spikes, crahses, frame loss, those are mostly official issues. I go to any unoffical server and the game is crisp. How bad official runs is kind of embarrassing by comparison.

I agree. Most of the land merchants I find are foreign to my geographical location. Usually Asian tribes pillaring NA servers, that I find anyway.

They need to actually enforce their rules, or cut build and tame limit down. As is, its super detrimental to game.

Yh something like the did on Atlas .. u can claim only this spot and thats it .. and I think the most of the problems on AsA is the fact everyone can join Everything.. we got people from Asia , Africa , Even from Greenland on a EU server and when they was all on it was unplayable for us .. and thats something we didn't have on Ase .. there was just a couple Americans or OC people and that was it

I can get behind that. Im okay with not being able to build traps across the map if its stops others from impacting performance. Thats a big gain for a minor inconvenience.

Full depends on the server owner and not buying servers through a third party. Been playing on a long term unofficial thats been hosting for 8+ years through evolved and ascended. Not all unofficial have stupid high rates and still can have the challenging aspects of Offical

This is normal. Most small updates fix one thing, but break another. Major updates almost always have full game breaking apocalypses.

If a major update is coming, put all creatures and babies up and log off in a bed so you can wait out the storm.

As long as the servers down, time doesnt pass. But that doesnt mean you'll be awake or able to play when they do.

Thsts why its common practice to have clones of your favorite tames, and replacement gear. That way, if they screw up and you lose it all, you don't really lose it.

A huge, major mistake is to get attached to anything in Ark. You will get robbed of it at some point, more often than not through no fault of your own.

Ark is simultaneously one the best and worst games of all time.

Yup. You're only ever 1 crash, DC or mesh incident away from losing it all. Always have spares and back ups, and replace them as needed. You'll save yourself a lot of frustration. The difference between a sigh, and controller breaking hot rage.

The insider problem is so easy to fix if they would just turn off friendly fire.

As it stands, even if you admin lock doors, they can just destroy them to get inside. Its a laughably easy fix they refuse to change.

They need a total rework of the tribe system. So many people are forced to play solo because Ark makes it impossible to trust randos since you have no protections.

Yh totally agree even the alliance can be a pain when someone leaves but has something build in your base or even the fact they can use your troughs for the babys etc , we need a lot more options for Tribe and Alliance
