Snail is also the same company to cheat on their own servers so why would it even be remotely surprising that they either force wildcard around or have the final say 99% of the time. Well, I'd rather it not be like ATLAS where it has servers you can wander into.
Because if they have expansions via zones, then it'd be a bit immersion breaking and a bit of a "fuck you" to either give you a prompt, or flat out refuse to allow you to cross to the next zone if you don't have the expansion.

I'd say just fast travel between the new zones, but it acting basically like the equivalent of how transferring to a new server is currently. Where you'll have to pick a spawn zone.

This is also with the assumption that ARK-2 will have NPC towns and shit, due to the heavier involvement it seems with characters like Santiago and Meeka.
So they could make it that you specifically have to go to those towns to travel between zones/continents.

I'm going to give my opinion on Ark, I think they are damaging the game with so many magical or mythological animals, it should only be dinosaurs and prehistoric animals, now the megalodon because it's so small, the rex because people tame it so easily it should be the most difficult, and the last one that can be tamed is the cherry on the cake, it should be the king and be super strong to be the strongest of all, but I see that it is one that appears very quickly, and they tame it very easily when it is supposed to be the symbol of the game, it should be super complicated to tame between several people, and be stronger or the strongest.

I usually tame it with rare flowers and place it next to my newly tamed animals so they can level up faster.

I’ve always thought it’s a bit sad that the Lystro isn’t a shoulder pet. It would be so cool if in ARK 2 we could carry a small Lystro in a shoulder pouch or backpack — maybe with its little head sticking out! 🥰

It could give the same XP boost to the player and nearby tames while being carried.
That way it would stay close, help in combat or farming, and still be the adorable companion it’s meant to be. 💚

The vision for this game has been lost for quite some time now. Wildcards best innovators have left the company already. Snail 🐌 has taken a game that was way bigger than anything they have personally ever released and are now holding wildcard hostage until they spit out a ARK 2 which if released by 2028 will be a low grade game compared to what people expected it to be. Unless they fire some people or sell the copyrights to another bigger company I don’t foresee this game having any longevity whatsoever within the next year or so

I find it a hard sell that wildcard's best innovators left. They just hired Garuga, they have the s+ guy, they hired the crystal isles maker, they still work with nekatus. Their server guys are the same. Lets face it the quality of development in asa is higher than the average for ase. They still have a LOT of talent working for them. The only comparison you need to make is how valguero vs aquatica turned out to see how WC is not lacking talent. I totally agree that snail is a major issue, but wc is still top tier as far as development goes. Also the fact tht they have delayed ark2 until they are ready instead of letting snail push it out immediately, (as well as them not allowing aquatica into asa) shows that wc still does have some say in the future progress of ark. So far the major decisions still seem to be wc, not snail when it comes to releases quality, etc.

Your opinion is one that is held by a lot of the community, but I do feel that it lacks context.

It still is very up in the air on whether ark2 will be good or not tho. Asa definitely has my hopes up for it (at least on unofficial) as the asa experience is better than ase.

Unfortunately snail games would rather sink ARK into the ground rather than sell it to another more efficient company who would have the resources to create an effective anti-cheat system and an overall better support team. Nowadays for a multiplayer game to survive having a crucial anticheat/support system is absolutely necessary for a long term sustain on any category of video games. Look at the recent issues that call of duty and halo have dealt with. Keep in mind these are companies far more bigger than wildcard or snails. The point here is that snails does not have the resources dedicated to sustain ARK for a long term multiplayer experience. ARK 2 will only be a story game, so I believe multiplayer dies with ASA. And ASA already has such a low population of people. ARK 2 most likely won’t release until 2030 which by then a lot of people would have moved on to other games. In other words, if ARK 2 even does release it will just feel like an average story game release that people will play short term.

Been playing this game is preview on 2015 and I remember staying up regardless of the constant crashing. You know why? Because it was addicting and the gameplay was fair and the adrenaline was great! We don’t get that anymore because people can cheat and get away with it. The devs are asleep on their table with snack wrappers all over. No tickets are handled. Anticheat is piss poor. The original ark players know this game was designed for PvP and now we don’t get that same feeling we had when ASE first launched cause everyday is the same with the poor management of cheaters and handling them appropriately. People are tired of it.

ARK was designed for PvP. And now that is all gone. ARK 2 will have multiplayer but will not be any better than the current state of ASA unless they acknowledge moving forward that they will improve on making a better anticheat/support team

Ark was designed for pvp, but 60-70% of the community has been on pve for years. Support has always been bad. Even back in ase. Cheating in ase was just as bad. Worse on Xbox actually. These are not new issues and they don't explain the number drops. Put the issue where it actually is, if you can even track it. Because believe me it's not cheating nor support. It's mostly performance, nothing majorly different to hype about, and microdlc that are totally locked. The majority of the community (which is sp and pve) don't care about anticheat because it's not a thing they deal with.

Yes. And the solution that most people have to that is to hire people to do that close watching. Which is really expensive and not viable for a company that very clearly seems to be in trouble financially. The alternative is to have a totally standard game that fits perfectly with existing anticheat, which ark is not,or to create your own anticheat. Which I'm sure the devs could do, given time, money, and not constant harassment. That said, anticheat and countering hackers really is only an issue on pvp which is a small percentage. The only time I have seen pve complain about stuff like tht is the color exploit 😂

Yep, which is why the option of “don’t offer a mode you can’t afford to maintain” comes to mind, where official PvP is not supported in ark 2 but the gamemode is available for unofficials

I think there’s a huge difference between battlefield 6 and ark. But even still, unlike ark…the worst thing battlefield cheaters can do is ruin a lobby. Ark cheaters can destroy most of your progress, can do it while you’re not online, and can ruin progress long after they’re offline themselves

WC has less resources to address cheating, their game has more ways to cheat, and the outcome of cheating is far worse. There’s just no real reason for them to, imo, get in an arms race on the official network

Firstly they always said ASA was being developed for 2 reasons.
1 - To help fund ARK 2
2 - To provide a way for players to continue playing the original Ark as they know some will not like Ark 2 due to changes.

Secondly, there is only 1 new DLC narrative map before Gen 1 & 2, that's Lost Colony. Not sure where you got 3 from.

The roadmap never said 3 surprises. It said one surprise. Later on they added another one which turned out to be Astraeos which is a non-narrative map. So no, they've never said 3 new DLCs coming.

Ark 2 will happen just the same as GTA VI will eventually. Wildcard keep on mentioning about Lost Colony leading into the events of Ark 2 wouldn't make sense if it isn't happening.
