You’d have a better shot, but it’s a tough one because you’re technically getting a product (Asa) even if ark 2 doesn’t come out. So you’d probably lose in court because there would be language saying you paid for asa, got asa, and paid for a potential product you knew wasn’t a certainty

Whereas if you bought ark 2 on preorder and ark 2 was cancelled, you’d have a better shot to sue for a full refund if it wasn’t provided - because you paid for a product and didn’t get it (though lawyers cost way more than ark 2 would lol)

It could be online, but not mandatory. Like the explorer notes. You go to a place and start quests/missions showing us the lore while we play the game. But finishing those shouldn’t be necessary to progress the other aspects of the game.

I think the switch up between writers makes that so hard... The stories are hard to link with the same character entirely, considering the end of ext hints at your character going off to help liberate the rest of earth

Genesis ship found a new habitable planet for humans called 'Arat' and the Eden Ring either landed or crashed on it.
Rest of the Genesis ship exploded in what is the equivalent to the Tsar Bomba, leaving basically nothing alive. (it was also more heading towards the celestial planet Arat seems to be orbiting around, which seems to be a gas giant. (and yes, this would technically mean Arat is one of the moons of the gas planet, if Arat is orbiting around the larger planet))
Unless Wildcard figures out a way to wiggle them in. Any of the Rockwell Garden creatures are more then likely extinct with Rockwell himself.

So, here's the difference.
Ferox, Stryders, all of those creatures where made by humanity years ago. And they're just genetically modified animals with nothing else.
Shadowmane's and Noglin's though are Rockwell's creations. Creations made with Element and Corruption. The same substance Earth/the Genesis ship is trying to get rid of/run away from.
While they themselves wouldn't be harmful. It's the fact they where made with large traces of Corruption that could become a problem later on for the entire planet. Possibly causing a whole new outbreak.
It'd be like having a person with a zombie virus in a safezone.
Sure, they might not be a zombie yet. But who knows when the virus will decide to activate and cause a new outbreak.

And for that, that's either called a 'time crunch' or 'didn't fucking care' moment.
We'll see when Gen2 is released on ASA. But canonically, they shouldn't have any traces of Element on them for the R-variants.
They don't have their blue glow anymore, but they still have the black tar growths on them.
Personally, I think it's more of a time crunch issue. Cause it seems like the fact they removed the glow from all of the R-variants of Extinction creatures seems to be intentional. But they probably didn't have enough time to remove the growths, due to it being literally part of the 3D model of the creatures themselves. So they'd have to basically make a whole new mesh.

The One Who Wait's states that they're beings of pure evil, and born from Corruption.
As for taming. Their entire existence is to serve. The Corruption nodes on them are signals towards the hivemind that tell them what to do. Destroy them, and they're confused fragmented pieces of Corruption cut off from the hivemind that'll serve the nearest thing to them.

Gameplay =/= Lore.
Canonically/In-Universe, they can enter arena's.
But for gameplay purposes, they can't. Cause every boss would get stomped if they could.

Carchar can actually enter the tek-cave due to it having a shorter hitbox than the Giga.
And that alone makes the tek-cave really comically easy.

Canonically, our tames should also get infected by Corruption any time they interact with one.
Yet, for gameplay purposes, they don't.

If the Eden Ring fully fell to the planet, everything would be dead on it from the impact.

I also doubt what others think that the Eden Ring crashed on the planet.
They've shown debree, but it looks like it's more part of the core sections of the ship than the ring itself.
We also saw Eden at the end of Gen2 stabilizing around Arat's orbit. Which makes me think we may more than likely see the Eden Ring orbiting around Arat's skybox like a Halo ring.

Watch the end credits of Extinction when the Reseed protocol happens, and what it implies with Ab hitting it.

And I more so mean a DLC that explores earth itself, which would in theory fit with ASA's DLC no one knows about, where it could continue from "there", whereas ark 2 focuses on Arat Prime.

The Gen2 Santiago clone was cloned before the Abs Santiago even went to Abs. So they are two different clones of the Santiago that lived at the time before/of the Elemental war.
The Abs Santiago even didn't experience the elemental war. He has no memory of it and is in his early 20s when he appears on Abs.
The Gen2 Santiago is already older when he os cloned to help with the Gen2 ship which is about at the time when the Arks get launched. So he is cloned far before the Abs Santiago and has no memories of him

So both are clonces from the same base but got into two different directions, so both can be seen as totally different persons after beeing cloned.. they are even different in behavior, etc.

Like you take the War Elementa war Santiago.. make two different clones of him, one is younger and you make sure he only has the memeories up to that age an put him on the Arks to be released there one das.. the other clone you put on the Gen 2 ship to help.
Also the Arks had one database of clones and the ship had a database of clones which had no real connection to each other.

I mean will the system even be discriminate between resource subtypes? Multiple types of stone are still stone afterall, and the only examples they have shown have been completely different materials (Obsidian, Bone, or Tek Scrap Spearheads for instance)

The human eye perceives motion at 30-60 fps. The only value in going more is to have a buffer. Some (rare) people can see flickers of motion faster than that, but it will only make a difference at the highest levels of gameplay. 30 to 60 fps is fine for 95% of people

That's bunk science. The eye doesn't see in FPS. Most people don't notice "beyond 30-60 FPS" because the reality is most people just simply do not care and are not very observant. There's a surprising amount of people who don't even have object permanence when playing games, too. If you set a 60 FPS game on a 60 Hz monitor, a 144 FPS game on a 144 Hz monitor, and a 240 FPS game on a 240 Hz monitor, you'll notice the difference when you see them side by side. People almost never "test" them side by side. The difference is there though. Most of the tests have people play them one after the other, and not a side by side comparison to see if they can spot the difference in real time.

It's about as low as you can go to still look fairly fluid. This is ideal for movie reels. Ideal for storage formats.

There's a world of difference playing an FPS game at 60 FPS on a 60 Hz monitor, and playing 240 FPS on a 240 Hz monitor. It's very noticeable how smooth "quick turning" is on the 240 setup.

But will the average person get much benefit out of it? Nah. It just makes turning quickly, for example, making a 180 degree turn, look much more buttery smooth, where as on a 60 setup, it's a bit more jarring.

Make it dangerous to fly (new air threats, like aggressive creatures or bad weather). Reduce a lot the weight capacity of the fliers. I think speed and stamina are already balanced the way it is.

ofc, i imagine adding the swoop/glide would help fine tune balance flyers. every flyer would glide/swoop ad different speeds and lengths. while making flying feel more dynamic and fun to do ESPECIALLY with theose pretty clouds they added

Agree. some fliers would have very slow swoops and function more as gliders and others would have faster movement (because I love the varied movement patterns of various creatures)
