#ark-2
1 messages · Page 130 of 1
We've only seen a handful of teasers for Ark2, so it's hard to say which is 'better'. They're going to be pretty different experiences
Yea I suppose
i will play ASA to keep me over while waiting on Ark 2, wich i'm still more excited for than asa as we're long overdue for a new way to play Ark
Ascended is releasing next month right?
end of october
I thought it was Ark 2 also
Def
Ark1 held me this long, so a cleaned up and more polished version will definitely hold me for a few more years
Ark 2 is currently targeting late/end of 2024
Ah alr
i'm still gonna hate breeding/mutations with a passion
I’m most likely gonna get Asa
I’ve never understood how it works
No planned fixes is a major disappointment
sadge
beeg sadge
There should hopefully be a QnA/FAQ released for ASA in the coming weeks, keep an eye out on the #announcements channel so you don't miss it
Who’s ready to get shit on by guys on expensive pcs while we are on consoles!!!
the minority of the playerbase returning to official on asa /j /s
Not me, buying my own cluster ASAP lmao
Expensive PCs that run less than console quality settings 🤔
The salamander?
Crossplay enabled, but none of my players cheat, they ain't no losers
leaf lizard
No, no
Saladmander
Totally different
gonna be meat on the fire anyway
Meat or veg? 🤔
meag
Yes.
What if it doesn't give us meat, and just drops like
a leaf
Bamboozled
It's actually such a master of camouflage, we never actually kill one. It's always just actual leaves
Yeah, you just think you killed it
But in reality, you stabbed a leaf as it snuck away, like the master of stealth it is
Oh my god
What if there's a bush that they rest on in the wild, that looks like a crouching player
and when you tame one and wear ghillie and crouch
you look like this bush
Ultimate PvP sneak strats now demand everyone own one (1) saladmander
And with that, I bid you adieu as I haven't slept in 30-something hours
if ini doesnt get changed youll be the only bush visible on the map
''must be a rendering error''
Expensive PCs are far superior than the consoles
Entry level gaming PCs are indeed more expensive and slower than the consoles
Missed the joke of ini settings reducing quality
Oh 😂
But the cross play is something they will probably reconsider I’m sure
At least they will release servers exclusively for consoles
People will complain a lot
I'm not sure that's something they're doing - yet at least. So far, seems to be all open crossplay all the time
It took them less than a month to change their minds about cross platform for SOTF
Maybe cross platform pve will work amazingly. For pvp? I doubt it unfortunately
BUT I don’t know overwolf, I don’t know if they have tools to balance platforms
But balancing platforms is basically capping pc
Eh, I don't plan on playing Official either way, so doesn't matter to me
But we don’t know how unnos will work on ASA
Because of the Nitrado agreement
People using their own hardware will be able to host their servers however they want
But I’m not so sure this is the case for the more traditional ASE unno servers
When ASA launches if you find a decent RP direction server feel free to DM me details I'd appreciate it a lot lol
Sure
No exact date revealed yet
Id love to get into some ark rp with asa dropping
i was gonna look for a server myself
Same
ASE RP has been painfully dry for the past few years, only a handful of decent pop servers which sucks if you don't like the crazy overhaul/custom mods they use
I like ones that don't use the berry bush seeds, but rather establish a natural universal currency like one I played the longest was ingots which made sense and was specifically for stuff like the auction held by the owner for the the community to bring in usually just dinos, but occasionally would be items of sorts or fertilized eggs.
Independant trades could go for whatever the two parties agreed on.
Played on Aramoore for a bit which had a custom economy with coins and such - went out of my way to barter with random ass items instead of coins and would never decline an offer. Made a lot of people really happy with good deals 😂
Some of the major traders actually got mad because I was undercutting their prices so hard
Maybe they can fix it so when you favorite an unofficial server it actually shows them when you filter your favorites when searching lobbies for ASA
That was one of the more tedious things about ASE is having to keep track of name of the server cause it wouldn't put favorites in the favorites filter for unofficials.
So it basically just put a star there with no purpose but really to show you have been there when you favorited unofficial servers
Yeah, Ark's in-game server browser sucks 😂
I just swap between Favorite and My Survivors untill the server I play on shows up
relaunch occasionally
Gamers Paradise was one that stayed on the longest, it gonna be hard to top how close to perfect that server cluster was for us that played on there.
Yeah, played on Paradise a bit, good times 👍
Not sure SoTF a good comparison considering anytime I peak at the server browser for that mode there less than 20 people at any given time.
Personally couldn't stand that mode and from the looks of it is basically a failed mode judging by the amount of people seen in any of the servers.
It’s the only time they tried cross platform and it failed
Also it’s pvp. Console players don’t like to play with pc players on competitive games
And even without cross play it still failed
And Ark pvp is pretty competitive
So? The point is they came to the conclusion consoles and PCs won’t fit together in a competitive environment
Only successful cross platforms I know are genres where players don’t compete with each other
I hate using this comparison because it the most common, but it proves a point. Battlefield and Rocket League is cross play between PC and consoles.
As much as I despise giving credit to the following they have also made it pretty successful...
WarZone, Fortnite, Apex and PubG
That just off the top I can think of
So much cheating happens when pc players are involved
Rocket league is one of the examples cross platform works as intended
All the others have an option to opt out the cross platform and console players usually do that
That’s what I whine will happen to asa and Ark 2
You just gave the simple solution I have said from the get go that all that needs to happen
Cross plat servers will be used by pc players
And console players will prefer to play on exclusive servers
Again, just be clear, I’m talking just about pvp
Well, that’s what I’m talking about since the beginning
And zennark said they wouldn’t touch on the cross plat option
I just said they would eventually release exclusive servers
Pve players will coexist.
Pvp players won’t
For me I don't completely get the urge to put yourself into what from my personal POV what looks like a toxic environment of PvP on official in a game like Ark when there already plenty of grind and dangers without the 24/7 functioning mega tribes bullying you around.
Some videos I have watched has always made me wonder why someone would willing just put themselves in that situation
For me I think a moderated unofficial with certain expectations of do's and dont's in PvP would be the way I would go if I was to go into PvP in Ark.
Some people feel good about flexing their lack of time obligations by playing Official PvP 🤷
I can't believe you don't enjoy being forced into a tribe with at least 20+ other people to have a chance at a somewhat enjoyable experience
Because pve in ASE gets boring fast (at least to me).
Yeah, ase mechanics pretty much force you to play in large tribes
That’s one of the main reason I was kinda hopeful about Ark 2
Pve would have more stuff to do with the aratai being an active pve force
The other I was watching this guy playing a mod where NPCs atrack the players
That reasonable which is why like Zenar has also mentioned the best version of PvE is when you find a really good managed RP direction server where interacting with community for stuff you wouldn't primarily focus on is a much better experience from PvE server
It looked really cool
My concern is, I’m not sure how the ase servers will handle the nitrado restrictive deal
IIRC You can still buy servers from other companies or host your own but all the official servers will be nitrado
AFAIK you can host a server with your own hardware, but you can’t use a rented server from other company than Nitrado
Y'know there quite a few complaints about Ark's server but in comparison to certain AAA companies cough 2K cough Wildcard has substantially better servers than 😐
I swear I just got a ad from SurvivalServers about ASA in my email but maybe it was a different game?
I'd have to go check again
Yeah the only time I've ever had any server issues is when climbing dinos were used to crash servers to dupe items
You can rent a server from other providers, but you would be breaching their TOS (at least based on their statement about the Nitrado Exclusivity).
Will they enforce their TOS? I don’t know
Kinda hoping that's one of the FAQ topics
That would be funny 😂
"Is ToS enforced for who you can host servers from?" "👀 If you have to ask, then maybe you shouldn't do it."
🤣
I meannnn 😂
TOS enforcement is kinda up in the air since the whole Legacy servers thing
is ark2 going to be cross platform
We have zero clue
ok ty
I don't believe we will get any concrete info other than art/previews on what the game will feature until it's trailer comes out which will be, most likely, 4th Quarter 2024
I thought the game itself was being released 1st of october
Asa is releasing end if October and ark 2 end of 24
noob question but what is asa
Ark survival Ascended
and that is just a revamped ark survival evolved I assume
Yeah theres also other things not just a graphic change
I'll have to do some research on this I thought ark2 was being released
I see
@lament dirge
Kind of like a primitive riding chocobos version of those final fantasy chocobos you use to ride in the early days of FF I was wondering if I was the only one that saw that connection lol
Wark!
What did 379 have in it? a reference to a creature vote?
379 confirmed late October
Plus showing us modding is in the works already which is kind of a big deal
Zenark: I just read it and I didnt' see that. is it in the comments or something?
oh, 'for the launch'
gotcha
It is in the very first paragraph of the CC 👀
Yeah, I was looking for an asa update heading or something
This is why it good to just read the page
I did and just missed it
I read it as just referring to the currently advertised date, but I can see how it as viewed as confirmation that it won't slip.
Really looking forward to buying it
It just got to my attention that terror bird is a generic term for several different species
I thought before it was that specific species in Ark but no
It’s like a raptor, there are several different species
hawks, falcons, kites, eagles, vultures, and owls
ark's raptor is a shortening of velociraptor
Yeah, kinda like that. I think the one we have in ark is called Brontornis
I think I like the name Terror Bird more
But the one in Ark is actually an Utah Raptor
ooh. whenever I hear that I think of dinosaur comics
google this name and you will see as nothing to do whit raptor, Phorusrhacidae
Phorusrhacidae are the Terror Birds genre, no?
Not related to the utahraptor
Phorusrhacidae are know as terror birds that live 10000 years ago
That’s actually my point. It isn’t one species but several. There are Phorusrhacidae from millions of years ago
I think they're underrated tbh
i love the little wing flap they have when you jump off cliffs and glide
use then many times to do the lava cave on the island
The nice thing about ASA is it'll be good to enjoy some natural color creatures for a little while. I bet most people have forgot what creatures originally looked like before event colors
Everytime I get on theres some event going on and everything is either bright red, green, blue or pink
Does anyone know if there has been a news letter about what engrams or if any have been cut from asa when it drops? Besides cryopods
Nothing, and they most likely wont cut anything out content-wise.
Cryopods are going to be in ASA, but it's in the air still if they'll come on release or when Extinction rereleases.
We have almost zero info so far
@stray elm @pine basin thanks been reading most of them just wantef to make sure i didnt miss anything
We are getting an FaQ soon-ish though.
So probably around this Friday or next Friday.
Yea been waiting on that
Reasonable to think it'll be this Friday for the fact to lesson the blow for official servers closing.
Or the 6th of October to start the marketing for ASA.
Where did they state cryos will be in ASA? I'm asking because the only thing I saw Dollie saying was they would answer everything in a future Q&A.
Dollie and Jat answered this awhile ago in general.
They stated cryopods will be in ASA, but it's a matter of 'when' they're adding them.
I doubt they'll cut any content cause no matter how small or broken something is, people still use it. 'They' just need to figure out a better way to balance things.
Missed that, thanks
That's a bit underwhelming IMO
I think cryos just made Ark worse
That's ... kinda expected though. Of course there would be Cryopods, the question has always been if they're on release or we have to wait until Extinction when they originally came to Ark
That's a personal opinion. And when there's still a decent chunk of players that use cryopods and enjoy them, then it wont be removed.
of course, hence why I said IMO
I'd like to see changes to Cryos - namely you shouldn't be able to pop a creature out wherever. Should be in range of allied structures. None of this pocket Giga BS
I mean, they said some changes would be made, but cryos won't be changed apparently
How they are now is fine for PvE, if you don't like them don't use them. Simple as that.
On PvP though, there defiantly needs to be a change.
Yeah, I'm talking about pvp
for pve, people can do whatever they want without really interfering on others experiences
There needs to be a solid difference between PvE and PvP anyway with balancing.
That's one of the biggest complaints for ASE, how balancing something for PvP effected PvE and vise-versa.
are you playing pvp or pve for ark2
We're talking about ASA
Hopefully they differenciate both, but I don't believe so
ohhhhh
They should. People will be pissed if they don't.
Then we'll have to deal with another 8+ years of shitty balancing.
In ASE I started playing back in 2015 on official pvp. I just started playing PVE in ~2020
Ironically, same.
I mean, with current mechanics you would need to dedicate your life to ark
I just got tired
Yeah, I believe I actually retired from PvP around 2019-ish
I was hyped for Ark 2 because the PVE mode seemed to be more interesting with the Aratai and the Events (Global events).
Same, seemed like it'd be perfect for ex-PvP players that don't want to deal with the unpredictable patterns of players. But still want a form of raiding and human x human combat.
Exactly
Cryos are a crutch for a lot of people some of which that are quote "among the top PvPers" so to speak.
You could take this to the bank, without cryos there would be a signicant amount of people who claim to be good in PvP that wouldn't be cause they wouldn't be able to carry their army of dinos in their pocket.
@winged dome TLDR me - anything fun here today?
Eh, slightly less 'When Ark2?' than usual
Well that IS a welcome change 😂
And guess what, ratholes would be so interesting
well i dont count any info tomorrow, most likely is the creature that win, ase official server closing and thats it
I'm 99% sure tomorrow will be about saying farewell to ASE
I wouldn't count on new info before october
and the creature, they havent announce it right?
No idea, I'm really interested on those polls LOL
ho wait they have
It would be an ideal time to reveal a game play teaser with the closing and last opportunity to claim your save file from WC.
Dred was confirmed last week
It would, but most ceartainly they don't have anything to show and It's a good excuse to just dedicate the CC to a farewell
so yeh tomorrow will be the farewell of ase and official servers
true
hey they might share a ue5 raft pic so cc isent so empty 🤣
btw i was reading about cryopods again and just remember that not a single person mention or ask for ocean plaft to be available at the start and since island is the only map that would make a huge difference
I haven't played Ark 2 yet. What are the differences? Before I buy it
no need to rush in your decision, ark 2 isent out yet nor will be for quite some time and even worst for ps players
I didn't know. I haven't been keeping up with it.
I saw there was a chat so I figured it was already out
they said for the end of 2024 but having ASA as early access and 1 delay already i personally consider ark 2 as TBA
plus theres no info of ark2 for PS5
That cause a platform waiting for a time exclusive contract to expire usually doesn't get special info, it'll release with what the current versions have at the time.
Just based on how I've seen them work for other games
Hooooboy, have I got news for you 😂
I have ps4
ark 2 is for next gen ASA too
Unfortunately you will have to upgrade for either ASA or Ark 2.
Also PS5 will not get Ark 2 when Xbox X/S and PC do, it on a timed exclusive contract for them.
Just a heads up, they've said it is an xbox excluive, period
plus im start to think you have 0 knowledge of ark 2 so if you can visit steam page ark 2 as a page on it explain a bit of what ark 2 gonna be
the timed thing is something we assumed
Oh, I missed that. When was this? o-o
On the original announcement CC
BUT I believe it is coming to PS5 eventually
I do have zero knowledge. Which is why I came here looking for said knowledge
unless someone wanna resume what ark 2 gonna be i recommend you check ark 2 on steam
Sadly we don't have much knowledge to give. We're still waiting for ark1.5 Ark2 is still way to early to know anything
Bee's post from March 31st this year is still posted where she shared a screenshot showing it for both Xbox and PC (Steam/Windows)
And Microsoft's websites in the pin as well says console and PC too..
Here:
After careful consideration, we have decided to delay the sequel's launch to the end of 2024, when it will still launch exclusively on Xbox, Game Pass, and Windows distribution platforms (Steam/PC).
They never said it will come for PS
I believe they even can't say that now
BUT I believe it will come eventually
But they will announce it WHEN the exclusivity is finished
Yeah it will "launch" exclusively. Key word launch. They don't actually use the word timed in official statements. No company does.
If you find anywhere them saying they are releasing for PS, then I will agree with you
I'm just saying they never promised to release for PS
I'm not saying it won't happen
But also, its so far out, maybe the game gets good pre-reviews and sony opens the pocketbook and breaks the exclusive barrier
A lot can change in a year or two
They wouldn't say it would release later. That not how that works.
I'll use Rockstar Games as a huge example given how big they are. GTA V being the best example. It release exclusively for PS3 and Xbox 360 for the first year.
No where did they ever say it would go to PC, but it known they compromise their contract negotiations to have an expiration date, but that never announced.
Tbh you’ll know when it’s ready
No need to bend over backwards speculating. If you want ark 2 and you have a PS4, you’re not ever getting it. If you have a PS5, better be patient or get another platform. Simple thinking
But sometimes they just won't release things to other platforms, like RDR
Im still waiting for the first RDR to PC LOL
RDR2 is on steam though?
Im just saying we better wait for an official statement
Fair, but the terms of the contract aren't certain, it could be a permanent exclusive but it could also contain an expiration date which is the most likely case considering when Microsoft deals with it exclusives for Gamepass if it a full blown exclusive it would have more than likely only would have been available for windows version of PC not steam.
That why I believe there probably an expiration date to it. We don't know for certain, but that the history of how they have done their games in the past for gamepass
Agreed, but until they say it, there's no PS version planned
If Ark 2 is only for Xbox and PC period it should def be just out right cross play considering Xbox already plays with Windows and that not consider cross play since it through their PC side of Xbox
TBF Ark 2 is more suited for that
Yeah
Curious how some of the movements will be while mounted to a land creature like a Rex or Raptor will be. Survivor movement pretty easy to visualize
I believe the movements will be more fluid and a bit more complex
they've said, for example, when you bite the leg, it will affect the lag (broken bones for example)
So I guess it will have more complex mechanics, instead of just clicking forever
Should be fun experience
Hopefully... I was really hyped with the game description
ASA might be nice, but still too similar to ASE
I plan on playing both ASA and Ark 2. Not gonna abandon ASA when Ark 2 comes out.
My hope is mounted combat is as interesting as foot combat
Me too, but I will say Im more skeptic after the 2 postponements
Im on a wait and see mode
Hopefully this means boss fights will be more interesting
Ark 2 breeding mutations change from just stat multipliers to actually being certain resistance buffs and you will need specific ones for specific bosses
👀
Shifter going to hate me for that post lol
if you like new world then you gonna like ark 2
I actually never played new world
I’ll be frank and say that at MINIMUM that’s a better system than exponential stat growth
You won’t catch me proposing it, but at minimum it’s something interesting that expands gameplay rather than bypasses it
That something lol
I also very badly want boss fights with limited tames (by size at least). It would be amazing to have a raptor boss fight or a boss fight entirely in the air
Should also say for this that I’d far rather have Raq’s suggestion of skills/traits that are bred/mutated rather than building resistances slowly
If us as survivors are going to have skill trees it would only make sense to give our tames the same justice so there a reason to use them and not have a bunch of yard ornaments lol
I'd be all for that
I’d personally propose and prefer skills that are tame specific that can be “taught” by doing things with your tame
In an ideal world, tames die very rarely and are instead more permanent investments (similar to familiars in other games). Instead of death, they’d just become inactive and unavailable when they hit 0hp
Have breeding be nothing more than an alternative to taming with just an added benefit of being able to gain color mutations. Just have mutations be purely aesthetic
unconscious
I don’t mind breeding as a fairly optional affair for breeding, so colors have always been ok
Or some other status - same energy tho yea
I think having unique skills or combinations available via tame OR breeding would also be a healthy way to make both methods available to players
skill tree
you could combine 3 same dinos whit 3 different skills for example.
1 could do stats affect another be a dps and one as a tank
I’d like 0 skills to directly alter stats
Skills could instead be classed into 1) movement 2) ability 3) utility which can really change what a creature is capable of rather than just “more number”
something like Moschops?
I don’t think there IS a comparison in ASE. Moschops and theri are the closest, but really it’s more like if you imagine skills that unlock or improve movement, abilities, or utility
Sounds far 2 advanced for Ark
For example, one simple skill could be faster climb speed on rock drakes. A more complex one could be a coil ability that basilisks could get that would let them pivot in place when coiled up
For ASE? It’s too advanced. It’s easily in scope for a huge shift like ark 2
well you know it could fit on ASA but...
Eh. It’s out of scope of Asa imo. The combat isn’t diverse enough to offer a large number of special skills
Since breeding stays in Asa, it seems like stats will still rule ark 1, which isn’t unexpected
Not without significant creature overhauls and mechanics changes
well the main dino roster need a big cough... tlc cough...
It may or may not get one
Get this man a Lesser Antidote for them coughs
wonder if leech illness will still be a think
For sure
They will add like 200 ways to get sick and debuff u
well im almost certain giga's melee will be gone, then you have that bleeding stats
but leech illness that aint a thing for pve at least, rabies is and its annoying
ark 2 might have lot more debuff stats
So a lot like Green Hell if anyone here tried that lol
One thing that would be nice but I doubt they have done it or plan on it for ASA, is the consumables and structures that were unique to Prim+ be added into ASA.
oh silly shifter, don't you know having combat that can make you fall asleep is the most interesting type of combat you can get? /s
maybe they should make it actually reduce speed like it says in the description then people wouldn't want to have it
reduce speed you say? make it increase the speed Jerry
but having literally every player constantly sick just is stupid, so maybe just have it go away eventually and then give an immunity buff for a bit like its an actual disease
because I do think that going away on death is a bit too easy of a fix, so either have it go away eventually but not from death or dont have it at all
if people didnt constantly have it then maybe it could be used in an attack to infect an enemy tribe like it was seemingly intended to be
but making the cures isnt that hard if you aren't in early game so it still probably wouldn't do much because you can stockpile them or even the ingredients since the antidotes themself cant go in a fridge because they weren't intended to be stockpiled, although it is easier than it was at its release because they increased the spoil timer dramatically
Double Oxygen and increased swim speed is kinda nice though, ngl
I don't even know how people get diseased. I've never once gotten diseased by a leech once. It has always been from another player lol.
It’s gotta be a diseased leech. It’s in the their name.
Now one hope for the skill tree design Ark 2 gonna have, I hope they expand on how you level it up by adding in certain requirements that need to be met beside an X amount of XP to level.
Either by you actually doing a task that utilizes what you are trying to upgrade so you essentially have to practice at what you want to improve so it like training or something similar to that aspect.
any info about gameplay trailer or teaser?
Nope
Depends, do you mean ASA? There should be something soon, next month
I hope we get info day 1, but I'm also bracing for "we are pushing out the release of ASA to December of 2023"
I feel like the sunset would be delayed if ASA was being delayed.
Snail Games has said that ASA has passed beta testing back in August. Unless something horribly goes wrong, it should be fine
There are plenty of people in this discord who don't give any value in what Snail says and wouldn't believe anything until Wildcard themselves have stated it.
oh yeah that was a game
considering i heard it was coming out and then never heard another word of it im gonna assume it was pretty bad
It's ... rough
TBF there are plenty of people in this discord who don’t give any value in what WC says. They can always postpone or change their minds. 😂
It’s funny because people are just projecting. Like everything bad that happens to Ark is because of SG bad practices. Everything good is because WC devs are the best. Things aren’t just black or white.
Game development is a complicated profession
It is indeed
It’s like those leaked Phill Spencer internal e-mails. They gave so much flexibility/autonomy to the Xbox studios that the managers messed up.
Giving unrealistic release dates or releasing totally broken games (redfall).
or they need 4 weeks to write 10 line codes
ARK 2 is nominated for "Most Wanted Game" in the 41st Golden Joystick Awards! 🥳 Votes are open until 20th October!
lol and most dont have a clue of what ark 2 is, they think is the same play as ase
Holy… 41 years of the event. They were awarding Pong back then 😂
Super Mario Bros came out in 1983 I think
Just kidding
I wonder if the guy who got promoted to Lead developer (or something like that) for Ark 2 is doing okay now
Who’s this?
I am trying to find his old twitter, it was a bit worrying though -- 'ok you are now the lead designer of Ark 2' and his tweets were all kinda 'I'm overwhelmed but trying my best'
But I guess he’s having a hard time. Because he’s dealing with a new engine and under so much pressure.
But what happened to the old one? Quit or got fired?
and under so much 🤑
I don’t think so
its like advanced green hell with more complexicity
I mean leech isnt entirely a debuff also
Make an ASA reveal video (try not to click bait challenge)
🤡
did they ever announce a date for ASA since server go offline tomorrow..? been falling behind on alot lately with work hrs xD but pretty sure there wasnt a date yet =\
just end of october atm
No exact date
k ty
Brooooooo what if they do an announcement after they shut servers down
Then we'll have an announcement after servers shut down
Gottem
Wasn't expecting that, WERE YA
What new dinos will be in ascended?
Drednaughtosaurus
excuse my terrible spelling
theres also more but thats the most recent one i can remember
the ones that have won the CC Creature Votes
You can report bruising for harassment with clown emoji btw. Dm if you have any questions.
they'll each be added to their respective maps
Fasolosuchus, Gigantoraptor, Yi Ling, Shastasaurus and Dreadnoughtus
gigantoraptor is being added with the release of ASA right
thats the island one iirc
no, with ragnarok
No
Lol fox is always reacting to other’s posts with a clown 😂
rhynio is for island in ASE and ASA, so no new asa exclusive for Island
!
U know that bug is also on lost island aswell right
Me when they announce the new dinosaur, fully expecting it to have a normal taming method
🤡
but he was referring to the island creature vote
Excuse you. It’s 🍿
I prefer 🍻
yeh that i get it but the clown im like "whaaaaat"
It had good ideas, some not so good ideas, and a lot of the implentations were rough.
In my head I want to hope for their ship combat/build system in ASA even though I know that will never happen lol
Never really got to experience the ship combat outside of my Official week1 Galleon getting eaten by a whale on zone-in 🥹
I want to like Atlas, but ...
battleships were a thing on ase early access ideas that devs wanted to do
I never played it, but watched videos. The ship combat seemed decent enough.
i remember reading it on ark wiki back then
Asa is ASE just now you pay
You had to pay for ASE wdym?
since when you dint pay for ase when wasent offering?
and ASA is having multiple changes, so that's it's not ONLY a better graphics update.
No it their way of making you pay for ark ascended and evolved same severs
what?
yeah I'm gonna need this said clearer so I can actually respond to it lol
guess this is what happens when the game gets for free a couple times in 8 years, freeloaders start to complain when servers go down and a new game comes out
I 100% vote for ASA and Ark 2 no more free downloads of the game.
Interesting how the spike in cheaters SKYROCKETED the moment people could make 14000 free accounts each lol
it kinda sucks for ppl that pay for others to get for free specially when theres mod maps that gives stuff from paid dlc
Trust meter like the Charchar makes more sense for taming than most of the others. Trap some of the bigger aggressive creatures and provide for them until they adapt to you.
Knocking out a dino and quote on quote handing feeding it by keep food it in inventory for a set time make sense for some creatures for them to wake up and perhaps trust you enough (aka being your tame now). But for others it kind of just a weird stance from an immersive view point.
Shoulder pets that approach you cautiously for you to feed it a good example of the trust build concept.
Don't even get me started on the weird impregnation taming where you or your dino have to be inseminated by a wild one to give birth to a tame, just the thought of that is wild.
I always thought that trust should disappear if you do shit like starving them
Ark lore states creatures are absurdly easy to tame. I know one goes over why, but if you read Helena's Island notes she takes note on how even certain animals that SHOULD NOT be "tameable" are.
such as the megaladon
Lore is built around gameplay tho
Ultimately ASE taming was built to “work” as a prototype
That a good idea, too. Make it where you have to keep their trust level or if it depletes then they revert back wild and if it a passive dino they immediately run/fly away or aggressive you could have a situation on your hands.
Lore is built around whatever the Game Designers wish to build it around, whether that's gameplay, notes, books, etc.
well the non story and dino votes are "written around gameplay"
who else thinks they should add console only maps to 1x offical similar to what they do on unoffical
The lore is displayed in different ways, but the point is that gameplay supersedes lore - if a new gameplay element breaks current lore, new lore is written to explain it
If there was to be a continous trust level you had to maintain it could and should be based on more than keeping them fed, have it be with them feeling useful and not just alone outside the base. Have certain requirements like so much distance traveled while mounted or picked up if a shoulder pet. Certain amount of wild dinos killed if using more aggressive creature tamed.
That concept would also help tone down 500 tame out at a base because a concept like that would make it increasingly difficulty to keep that many tames trust level up.
Bonding could be neat. If tames are left unused or Cryo'd then they start taking stat penalties until they're brought out and used
Bonus points if stat penalties persist through breeding. Gotta take those mommas out and exercise them
Everyone complains about tribes having hundreds of dinos out before cryos (even though they still had them out after). All this would do is make that "issue" 100x worse lol
and most main breedline dinos are kept out of cryos anyways.
Ideally, Mutations would be fixed, so not nearly as much of a need for mass breeding ... but sadly that's not happening in ASA 🥹
I'm fine with mutations, as long as they actually have a cap, and not an easily broken cap
Hence, fixed
Yeah
Unfortunately Devs confirmed in chat that there will be no changes in ASA yet to breeding/mutations
Just twiddling my thumbs now at work, waiting for a crunch that prob won't be out for hours
Still so little we know about asa.
a man can dream
A man can dream
Well in the bonding concept we are sharing to expand making it be more risk reward / workload cost effective toward having tames out.
Mass breeding would also have a negative effect on both male and female creatures as it could be stated as a "object use" and negatively effect a trust meter where you have to work harder and harder to maintain the trust meter if you mass breed the same creatures.
especially if it multiple different "partners" so to speak and not the same two creatures being bred.
Bonding works if you have a small tame count
Breeding would need to be firmly optional, and creature death rare, before (intensive long term) bonding makes sense
You said based on keeping them fed. Which is always done, through troughs. so it wouldn't do anything.
That would be the idea, it would be a risk/reward concept. Keep the tame count reasonable you would have no issues, but blow up your tame count and well you would have your work cut out for you.
I said it could and should be based on more than keeping them fed.
ah, misread then
Still think it's an awful idea. PvP wise you get in one major fight and you're basically screwed when the next tribe comes to attack you.
because your choises are to either keep a small amount of tames, or have too many and have stat issues. No one would want to PvP at that point. The risk is now too high.
To be honest based on watching some PvP from videos in official, IMO I think people were able to PvP to much before having to regroup and set up again.
idk, sounds more geared toward fewer players having quality tames instead of one dude bringing his army
If you get in a defense, and lose a bunch of tames under your way, you now HAVE to breed up again. Another tribe can literally fob up and ruin you because you have no dinos now. Or if you do, they have such a stat nerf because you couldn't maintain it, that they can shove you in due to better stats.
Considering Ark is geared towards a tribe that not a bad thing. Ark not intended to be a solo adventure
It would force people to plan ahead rather than always push aggressively and have a defensive action to fall back on
There is a tension between tame counts and tame investment though. If it’s too hard to replace tames, defenders are at such a bad disadvantage in a siege that it results in people being unable to build
Hence my suggestion yesterday of not having formal tame deaths - and perhaps adding a more permanent bonding system. That way, your “KOd” tame is unavailable for a while, but you’d be able to train up a “secondary” replacement to rotate in without risking your existing bond with your primary
And should the attackers leave/fight end, both parties have their tames back after whatever X hours/days cooldown and can PvP more (which is kinda the fun of it)
There a game I played a WHILE back, trying to remember what it was that used a concept like this and it worked really well..
It’s very common in RPG games to do as I described with familiars
Pokemon, except when you beat Team Rocket you get to blow up their base instead of taking their lunch money
Attacking should be more costly than now
It’s too easy to raid other’s bases and just take everything people took months to get
reread what I said.
I have no idea how to do it in a balanced way, but they should 😂
Berserker also agrees lol
Im agreeing with you and adding on that
I think this concept would be very good for Ark 2 more than ASA considering current expectation is no cryos or such to transport an army so the attacking side would have to actually travel with their tames out dealing with whatever between them and who their headed toward.
Imo the issue is less that a base can be raided and MORE that your base has upwards of months worth of work
Protecting your most valuable assets, character progress (already protected in ASE) and tames, would make losing a base less horrible!
No cryos + huge map. I see can lots of ambushes when attackers are moving to raid
And that’s good
This should be exactly the expectation IMO, there should be more of a focus on defense than offense.
Yeah, agreed. The issue is how to “fix” that
I’m not so sure cryos will vanish in ark 2. What I do hope is that in ark 2 there’s more emphasis on transit and transport
See above for tames - character protection already exists in your implant and level not being harmed when you die
Focus should be on defending a BASE, and not all of your PROGRESS
that’s the key issue imo to be explored. Losing a base should be similar to losing a round of overwatch - you failed the PvP. But you shouldn’t lose month’s worth of progress (or be asked to redo it) by failing the PvP in one raid event
Exactly this, but still, I don’t see how to circumvent that
Like how to save blueprints, “genectics” etc
See here about tames
The bases themselves aren’t that important
I read it, but I’m not sure this will work
crafting boom to get into a base should be expensive if you go in through the wrong way, or expensive in general, so it disaudes from wiping out every solo or extremely small group.
It is what Rust does. wasting boom on a solo who is clearly a "bob" isn't worth it, and rarely happens unless said bob REALLY annoyed the more set up groups.
If you spend boom in Rust, but get no boom back, or resources to craft boom, it's usually considered an extremely bad raid. as it is in ark, it is WAY too easy to just craft an absurd amount of rockets/c4 and yeet over and over.
Easy. Tie blueprints to specific players and their progress as “memories”. Imagine upgrading engrams rather than having an item that can be thrown around. OR have the system be component based and have “BPs” replaced by special knowledge point recipes (remember those points are confirmed as something you get for completing missions)
And when they get killed tou can clone them
I believe Ark 2 was aiming that with different materials crafting different items with different qualities
It would be better than needing a bp
When do yall think the ASA interview will come up?
Also, something like the crafting skill could be reworked to make it even better
In my ideal, genetics are only cosmetic so that would be fine
What asa interview? You mean the q&a?
"Soon"
Dollie just said SOON. So, I believe it’s coming soon
It is precisely "soon"
I hope it will be at least the next week
When I say genetics, just read as an specific creature ID
So I can recover after the fight
I see - in my head it would be more like a tame manager UI like the founder note eluded to
This is why the only PvP experience I even went into Ark was one server that declared bases as safe zones, all PvP encounters were while you are out and about or when admins hosted up an arena tournament which is where you gathered up tames you needed and took part in, winner would get reward determined by admins based on how the cluster was progressing.
PvPve is imo where ark 2’s niche is most marketable and most interesting
Hence one reason I believe unofficial is better than official imo.
Raiding a bases is amazing actually. Lots of fun. Defending is also amazing. The issue is months/years of hard work are inside a base. Losing everything is sad.
Like shifter is saying, they just need to change things so we can have everything attached to our characters
By getting out of control player stats the game becomes more pvpve. Currently you can ignore most wild creatures. In a proper pvpve environment though people have to take wildlife seriously
Instead of everything being inside vaults in our bases
Everything except the walls and floors 😂
And materials - those should be the loot still imo. But yea I agree
Sure, resources and structures are easy to get back
What’s annoying is losing bps and tames
Is ark ascendant will be on xbox one?
No
no, only next gen consoles
Let's gooo
Read it wrong
Shit
Sorry lol
loved the trolling
Xbox series yes right?
I thought about the Xbox series
xbox series x and s
Yeah
Tbd
They didn’t say anything about that
What’s odd, because we already know ark 2 is on gamepass, but we don’t know anything about ASA
Ooh
That will likely be after EA, I don't see it going on game pass during EA
Oh, there’s that
When is Ark 2 coming
late/end of 2024
well dollie was talky today, seems gonna be a "big" cc to read
That either means they'll give us a memory road CC, or the FaQ
seems some questions gonna be answer but its not a FaQ
dude aint the place for that, you already try it on general and you got the boot
This isn't the place. There's literally a whole channel dedicated for recruitment
i didn't see the channel
E
It would be cool if Dino's in ASA could react more like a living creature than a robot, like if they can fall or have collision with each other
collision should be easy whit UE5, fall they already fall 🤣 but if youre talking about breaking leg debuff and stuff like that it would add a little more realism to the game
No like imagine charging a trex with a trike or carno and made him fall but not dead
will there be a difference from early access to when theres full release? like will the worlds wipe?
dont think so, but anything can happen
theres a change of that happening again
thats gonna be exciting 🤣
Didn't they do smth like that before
Splitting official servers into "legacy" servers
i only started official servers about 2 months ago, so i hope they dont
Errr, so u are aware that official servers are shutting down now yh? FyI
I have bad news for you friend
1 day 2 hours left
oh yea, i stopped 2 days ago after finish alpha island other than overseer
You're going to want to head to unofficial if you like interaction with others.
Nope
It's in 2hrs not 26hrs
Check #general pinned
i might hop on after work and run around
i surprisingly really liked the official servers, played with my son and a few friends. get the real@feeling of acheivements when playing
Gald 2 hear
May u never experience Offical Pvp tho
I pray for the lost souls 🙏
does any1 wanna join me im kinda new to pc ark i have played this game on my ps5 but i just dont know what server i should join
ik this is the wrong channel to be in but every .00001 second i get noti
Try posting in the correct channel #1110949794907684965
ASA releasing end of October right?
As of now, yes
any release date yet?
End of October 2023 for ASA
or not going to happen. $$$ Nitrado good for business
Yeah but would nitrado just go over to ASA? To still make profits?
Bro ark is a SCAM
did you just join now to say that???
We rlly have to pay 40 bucks dude
guess you had ase for free ha
I broke i spent my hard earned money for this gsme yesterday
lol
ask for a refund 🤣
Refund it if you can
🤔
Steam refund policy is pretty forgiving
Im a epic user
Anywhere I can read about the latest stuff we know about ASA?
Rip

ask on general tab if a moderator can summon the bot for ASA
That is awesome, thank you very much. That's everything I needed 😄
Just cherry picked info out of 4 CC's
Works for me! 😄 actually hyped for ASA.
That would've required you to like... read the crunches? What? Who does that?
I aint ever paying for a game w out research anymore
^ me with Monster Hunter Rise 🥹
If you look up a little you will see cherry picked info about ASA, or if you see a mod in general, ark, or here ask them nicely to summon the bot for ASA
Summon the bot for asa please
Gotta find where the mod are at in the discord atm
But here this for now ^
There you go doing that damn reading thing again... and so soon?
What can I say, I like to actually know what going on with games I like
Is it available on epic games cause my ark is on epic
I need a 3 minute video sent directly to my DM's to understand what you're trying to tell me. With pretty pictures like Zen said.
Well i guess all my savings going into asa on steam 😀
I wish there would be an original island map in ASA, but I guess we will only get the new version.
When is asa coming?
On the bright side, $40 ASA will come with all the currently available DLCs in time
End of October
The Island probably going to be the same design, but it going to be updated with the new engine physics and capabilities
Only thing rumored is some changes to caves possibly
Yeah, I mean I would love to see the original Island, from before they added swamps and redwood ++
Bronto Valley
Hopefully smoother entry and exit instead of insane frame rates lmao
13 minutes boys
Ngl...I liked the idea of ark 2 and ascended being in a bundle pack..
and acording to the streams i was watching of official, the servers are now down
I mean, I played official for like 2 weeks, didn't enjoy the flow of the game due to longer times on everything but, it's always sad to see a game close down. I can always play unofficial but for a portion of the community, there is no game anymore.
the rates were awful in official, but it was fun before i found the joy of private servers
Official was just a time sink. There's no added difficulty in waiting longer to get things done
i played sp for a few months before trying official. made a tribe with friends, they stopped playing after 3 days, and the server was always lagging every half hour and shutting down randomly at least 4 times a day
when is asa coming?
end of october
when’s the server shutting down?
five minutes ago
fuck
We've only known the date for three months
i swear playing 2016 ark was like yesterday
plenty of private servers out there
is it only offical servers? or unofficial to!
Im in playstation when new ark start ?
only official
ok
wc has no say over unofficial
Im in playstation when new ark start ?
and it’s 60 dollars for asa right?
40
Yeh
40 last i checked
end of october
Oh no
Oh nice
40 plus all DLCs coming later on
that’s fucked people who owned ark should get it for free or atleast a discount
in the meantime im playing 7daystodie
40 *includes all DLCs later on except to-be-revealed ones
You're funny 😂
Yeah
i mean, thatd be nice, but devs gotta get paid
What I meant, my bad.
Then stick to ASE
Yeah, they've put a shit ton of work into this. They didn't just import and click update
So all of the thousands of hours of work wildcard is putting into the remaster...... should be free?
asa isnt just a reskin its a good way into remaking from the ground up
xmas is right around the corner
6 moths = thousands of hours?
if you can afford it you should gift me it
Sure, I'll buy it for you right no-
oh wait
LMAO. So they've only been working on it for 6 months now?
yeh
🧢
Likely much longer than 6 months
theyve been working on it since they started the switch port
was on march when jery said about update to UE5 meme right?
sure 🤣
nope, gotta follow cc's its all there
now that the servers are closed, they might give us a update on asa, dollie did say she was trying to get permission to show something
1st was the idea of just updating then was 1st of april cc
Unreal 5 has been active since April 2022, based on normal dev times for games I'm guessing they're rushing it as it is. It's not a simple port to the new engine.... at all. I'm betting they've been working on it for at least a year.
B-
But it-
Hadn't even been announced yet
Your lack of logic never ceases to amaze me Fox
the devs are also likely under NDAs given it's snail games publishing
also they said, in their own post/video that they made the switch port in UE5 and decided to update the island then later came out and said "we're just updating the entire game now" "also its no longer free"
sure thats why ASA is in early access whit just the island youre right they have being working on it for much longer
Jeremy's meme came from somewhere, not out of the blue
🤣 works both ways
Well, Early Access is a good way to get things straightened out before a major launch. They're most likely having to almost rebuild each map from the ground up for UE5. New Lighting, using Nanite, using all the new tech..
I'm sure it's as simple as drag and drop eh
you have too much fait on wc young padawan
same
I've been playin ASE since before swamp
I am well aware this is the company that had DLC for an early access title
Never letting that one go btw.
🤔
SE was kind of born from a crummy situation
start to think they are enjoying messing whit ppl asking for cc or the panic bottom as being press
Still waiting, btw
dollie mention early it would be a huge reading but did say it wouldt be ASA FaQ
It wasn't
Considering the lawsuit took near all the money they would have made off of Ark as a settlement, It was either that or have the company go under.
Wild how many people hold this above them when they only did it out of necessity lmao.
^
SE was planned since the beginning
They're referring to the release of it during EA.
But they needed to release it as a paid dlc
i already said that wasent the case snails already own wc before SE was available to buy
it was supposed to be release during EA, but for free
but then the lawsuit, and plans changed
never read that on any website
I don't recall them saying it was going to be free anywhere. Source?
Scorched was released Sept '16, WC bought by Snail in Dec '16
Snail came in during the issues, and most likely paid for the lawsuit, that means WC had to make up the money somehow, aka DLC.
I was pretty certain they came in after the fact. thanks for clearing that up lol. Was pretty certain it happened after scorched dropped.
Makes sense, since even w/ the DLC they'd be scrapped for cash flow.
I mean yes, that would have sucked if they went under, but really.... know a good way to not lose 40 mill? Don't do something to get sued, and most certainly don't lose. Either way, a DLC for an EA title was super sketchy for many people, me included. Still poured thousands of hours into ark, so it doesn't really matter anyway :^)
60
More than I make for sure
Got my money's worth, not a single regretted cent on this game or DLCs
Probably even 100x over 😂
I play this game too much 🥹
Oh, yeah. Totally gotten my monies worth as well. I've paid 60 bucks for games i've only played once.
december 15
not 16
Eh? Did I typo
looks like it
Chonky crunch though, lot of good info
yeh it really sure give good info to make decisions
nothing about spawing pillars, tame count and so on
and almost forgot, no more speedy bobs (not sure how some gen missions will be done, gotta come up whit other ways)
No pumping movementspeed, we all gonna get outrun by dodos lmao
joke aside, raptors gonna be a problem
They were already a problem until you got like 150% MS lol.
i used to have about 120 i think but its pve so i dint run much (until gen missions)
This seems like a way to inflate the "beginning" of the game. Hope I'm wrong, but base MS was absolute trash.
when i read no cryos that raise me a red flag right there, for pve servers thats really bad, trolls love to tame lvl 5 dodos to reach dino cap server
I wanted no cryos so I'm happy.
yeh that must be good for pvp, no more giga surprises and random raiders from other servers and vanishing
No Asa on ps4 😢
now the news about wild dino count raise, now that's good news
Getting hyped for no cryos and no movement speed maybe make the game difficult fo once
Asa going to be awesome
There gunna do something different that will make it good
The default movement speed will probably be fast
im still shock theres almost no pics or even when gameplay as being deny ppl say asa going to be awesome and gonna buy 1st day
And there probably also gunna do something with cryos like a different system
Default movements already decent
Its not like its gonna cost all your lifes savings if you have enough for a device that can run ase you have enough to buy asa
Im just looking for to real difficulty in the game
Finally make raptors dangerous in the early days
Flashback to pouncing Raptors
There’s gunna be crazy PvP players on day 1 lmao
People on Gigas and imprinted charchas
yeh but dosent help at all going all in whitout seeing the product, thats why even triple A companies doing early access games, everyone is falling on the trick while they are banking
you realease ASA can turn into anything since its on early access? by buying it in that stage you are agree for subject to changes
Patience is a virtue if you dont trust wc then wait till you see other people play i trust that asa is gonna be an absolute banger not saying you have to
Damm 11 more hours till official severs shut down that’s crazyy
Itll be wild thats the fun in it
they should be off already
Early access arguably better than full release
It’s not Saturday no?
It has already shut down.
Same here
I build a beach bob house
And a flying spider which I didn’t know was a bloodtslker came and took me
I joined a server grinded out a pt and got insta killed right away by a level 300+ lightning wyvern
Memories am i right
Hey guys, so much information about ASA and I know most of you will play on server. But there's one question no one asks. What is about the local multiplayersystem for playing just with family and friends without hosting an own server?
Probably relatively similar to current options. Dedicated or Non-dedicated
that aint the only question that asent being answered
Anyone know if there will be split screen on console like ASE
gotta read the new cc
Yeah I have but didn’t see anything about that
Was there split screen on ark?
then thats the correct answer for your question
Yeah in single player
You just press options on the second controller
There prob still be split screen on signle player if not than they’ll add it later on
Do you think they can fix the problem that you can't use the full map in local multiplayer? In ASE we can't because always our chars were teleported to the host or the game was not playable anymore if we adjust the settings
well its UE5 so we dont know
think thats more a question of hardware since that local multiplayer is making that machine as a server and platform to be play so if others go around the map and loading more dinos caves so on puts more stress on that machine, thats what i think but i can be wrong
Ark 2 mobile version
Maybe this could be a problem too but Ark is not the only game we play in this way but the only we hat such problems with.
gotta wait to see, since ASA will be for next gen consoles and its UE5 that might not be a problem but you gotta wait to see or for them to say something about it
That's already solvable in ASE. Increase tether distance
We did this and then the game isn't playable anymore. It is like an earthquake on desktop😵💫
Not be on Discord, for starters
@winged dome how could you not @ me on this cc release??
No movement speed boosts meant WC heard our little chats 😉
I’m also very curious about what they mean in the mutations section. Looks like they’re decoupling them from wild levels, but I don’t really understand what “their own multiplier” means. Perhaps it means that mutations won’t result in exponentially stronger player added tame levels?
it probably still will lets be honest, they said they weren't changing the meta much
Has anything else gotten released
255 incremental stat boosts is a big deal still ofc - but the nerf of exponential stat growth and no movement speed is nothing to sneeze at either
Wait to you cant upgrade player speed anymore?
movement speed changes technically buffs fliers and breeding because fliers already couldn't use movement speed anyway and im guessing you wont be able to get speed mutations as a waste anymore
Wait so you can’t even upgrade movement speed anymore on players?
cant upgrade movement speed on anything, (only for official) optional on unofficial
It makes things 1/6 instead of 1/7, but imo that’s not a stat buff - just a mutation speed buff for non-fliers
@ripe cedar that’s the most bull shit ever I’m not even playing offical now LOL movement speed is a key part of the game
Tbh this is slept on for how based it is
most of the people whos opinions I care about seem to like it
WC showing interest in pvpve and making the wildlife feel remotely threatening is a good move
I also liked the note about them reading our chats lol
I can’t believe they making it where speed can’t be leveled wtf
I’m a bit surprised too - didn’t expect such a solid change to go into officials
time to study every creatures exact movement speed both base and imprinted
I do wonder if imprinting won’t alter speed since it’s no longer a stat
idk why they couldnt have saved rhynio for lost island tohugh
I mean it does on snow owls so idk
i forget if it does on water dinos too because I dont play ark
I believe that’s because imprinting worked on base speed stats before flier leveling was removed (so it was a grandfathered thing)
I mean my guess is the owl was built off the PT blueprint lol
i wonder what the rex-spino/ratio will be at first because spinos tame faster but are rarer and are almost 50% faster especially with water buff but rex has like 40% more hp
Hard to say. My guess is that the Rex’s general utility will make it a likely pick
probably because there are like no spinos on the island
i guess we will see how spawn rates change if at all
I do wonder if they tweak those spawn zones
Or the weird issues like servers slowly running out of spinos over time
my biggest unanswered question is still on xp notes, them not being mentioned either means they arent changed at all or dollie just forgot to mention them idk
Gonna guess unchanged tbh
But there was a spot for “other balance changes” so it’s hard to confirm
They’d just be notes
The exp part would be removed because it breaks the hell out of the game’s progression to get 100 levels from just running around like a chimp getting notes
I don’t think tame meta is gonna change based on no movement speed. Not many people were investing in it to begin with.
Depends on imprints tbh for tames. But the foot meta is gonne be worlds different
Yeah I’m gonna be relearning basic survival for sure. Can’t even out run a fuckin trike lol
GL doing note runs w/o speed increase. Gonna have to tame a dino for that now.
Secretly glad I boycotted speed and stopped using it since 2018 😂
I’m bummed they removed it entirely, I’d much rather have seen it heavily nerfed. But I’m still excited for the challenge. This should actually do a lot of good for early and mid game.
it was necesary in PvP. If they don't up the speed from what the current base is, everyone is getting hit with Bolas and mauled to death by every pvp dino. Imo it basically gets RID of ground pvp depending on what the base MS is.
Imo “other balance” should correct to that new reasonable standard
Best to beat jank with comprehensive fixes than just shrugging and allowing more jank. And unchecked movement speed was jank AND balance breaking
Suppose we shall see. Hope their gameplay trailer shows people running when it's released compared to some dinos in the same scene.
Yea that’ll be good
I see this as an absolute win
No it's not, speed hasn't mattered since extinction.
Why are people talking about the remaster in ark 2?
Cause we don't have a dedicated ASA channel yet, so we're using this as a substitute until then.
Good question.
there was a whole conversation about swamp fever here the other day, would be funny if now all of a sudden it's 'kewl' to have it just for the movement speed
(not that people didn't already use that feature, but now it would be even more in demand)
They might've thought of that and removed that ability.
Big w community crunch
No idea how not levelling speed is gonna affect the game but
W community crunch
Actually ima delete my comment, but I mean -- even currently, you have ways to boost your characters speed outside of dinos in silly ways. Like parachuting/grapple hooks. It just feels odd that instead of people running around like ants, you might see people using the things above a lot more.
Also, looking forward to the new Ark music xD
Wild that it’s less than 1 month to release and there’s been 0 proper showcasing of the game
Wil the devs again support cheaters on official? And the dupers?
has there been any news in the last year on whether ark 2 will be more pvp or pve focused?
What map releases cryopods?
it will have more pve elements compared to Ark 1, but Ark 2 is still gonna have both pvp and pve. currently the steam page lists new things and changes like
- Hostile PvE force (Aratai (orc people) )

thank you! excited to see ark offering more pve
Glad to see that
so ASA is releasing quite soon, how about ARK2? is it in couple of months? not sure to invest time in ASA or wait for ARK2
Ark 2 is slated for late/end 2024 and both Ark 2 and ASA will be supported actively together after they are released.
Considering how much different Ark 2 is going to be they want to still provide a next gen original Ark experience hence one of the many reasons for ASA. As well to help fund Ark 2 development.
What’s the difference between asa and ark 2
Ark 2 is a completely new game designed around a primitive style and souls-like combat
ASA is a next gen original Ark experience.
Does ark 2 new gen aswell?
ASA and ARK 2 (at launch just timed exclusive for pc and Xbox, but that can always change) are gonna be next gen only, why wouldn't it be when it's targeting a late 2024 release with new gen being out for 3 years already?
Change you PfP back I didn’t even recognize you.
nah
Yah
Nuh uh
Fine I’ll adapt

Ark2 should have fireballs
alien plants should make us firebenders, they got goddam leaf chameleons on that planet
E
No movement speed leveling on official, let's goooo
Ah yes, scam link, let me click that for sure LMAO
@dodomail
Staemcornunmimity, sounds legit lmao
Err
@bright ore
It's like a russian bot can't tell that we can just hover over the link and see the real markdown
Dunno why DodoMail tags are like 50/50 if they work or not
I already dm'd as well, surprised the link was up that long
Multiple channels too
Hmm
Quite a few yeah, hope nobody was dumb enough (somebody probably was chances are, but it is late so idk maybe they got lucky)
Why skull Roy?
Typing dodomail doesn't always properly link the profile for mod pings
This one didn't work 🤷
It was a skull of solidarity
I prefer the clink of camaraderie 🍻
It was indeed, a skull of solidarity
Honestly asa is stupid, everyones gonna play it for a 1-3 years and then ark 2 will come out and it will be buggy as hell, if they didnt waste budget on asa and just put it into ark 2 and animated series everything would be good
And not everyones gonna buy asa
Its like 70 euro
Ark 2 is going to be an entirely different experience, and the playerbase literally begged WC to remake Ark 1 instead, which is what they're doing now
You can please some of the people all of the time, or all of the people some of the time, but never all of the people all of the time
It is what it is
Find a different game to play if it makes you that upset
Maybe get a hobby
Build a house
Idk
touch some fertile soil
finally, actual info! so wonderful
no pods on day 1!
sadly I'll be at disney until halloween
run your flanges through decayed organic substrate oft used to promote floral growth
damm you and your gif perks
I wasn’t worthy, I became worthy, you can be worthy too
What ping @prime lark ? With banned link too
Was it one of those "who pinged me hurrdurr" idiots
Hate that shit, so cringe on top of the fact that they usually have a scam or virus link in their bio
Its 40
once upon a time it was meta for the MS boost, so it wouldn't be surprising. Given depending on how slow the base MS is now, it might not be worth the minor boost it gives now.
I guarantee it will be the new meta
Depends on whether you can outrun dinos with it or not. If you're still so slow that dinos outpace you even with the disease, then it isn't worth the stat decreases to everything else.
Any boost to speed will make you faster than other players, which if we're being honest is what you'll likely be running from more if you're on foot anyways
anyone wanna play ark with me?
Sure, let's play officials rn
whats that?
Wrong channel, try #1110949794907684965
@winged dome sorry didn't know
No MS for all the tames also, the island will feel really big now
''how to make the island feel as large as Genesis 2 in 3 easy steps''
I wonder if imprinted 20% boost will still apply (for speed)
good question, seeing as that's not discussed iirc we will have to wait and see ourselves
Probably still will
I think the real question is will the main menu move again
it did?
It did
must've been so long ago as i've forgotten, and i've been here from basicly the start
I realized the other day that dinos don't splash water when walking in shallows anymore
Movement Speed
Movement speed won't be an issue for speed hackers 🥹
At least unofficial can still use movement speed.
Hello, only English in this discord, sorry.
Hola, solo inglés en este discord, lo siento.
algun discor español de ark
I don't actually speak it, I used translate to tell you that. 😮
Unfortunately this is the official discord, but mods can't properly moderate which is why it english only.
omfexs
They did before? Only animation/effect I remeber them taking out was the x-plants animations
In general ASE looks so much better now compared to 2015
