Yes an asteroid filled with element crashed into earth at 21 century, wich slowly starting currupting the Earth, but as humans started using it more and more, the problem became bigger. during the 24 century where the 2 factions that existed at that time period were using element vastly, the residue from the tek made an already existing problem, spiral down even faster speciallly affecting anything living organism and corrupting everything. Along with the apearence of the titans the 2 factions decided was time stop the war. 1 created the arks to one day come back and fix the Earth and the other faction made the colony ship to search for a new suitable Planet

Actually it saves the data that you have defeated the bosses and might be therefor some "key" so you can ascend or that you did ascend. But in Lore it might simply be for translation at first and later after Helena is able to make respawn possible also for saving your engrammic matrix. But sadly in lore there is a lot od contradictions regarding to that.

Humanity discovers element. Element is a very versatile substance that's basically a super resource and humanity begins to develop technology that could've never been made with the help of element. This technolgy is known as TEK. In this universe, there are 2 main groups. The Terran Federation and the United Republic of Earth (URE). Some people, mainly part of the URE, began to augment themselves with element and become what is known as Homo DeusEventually, these 2 groups go to war over element and use TEK-based weapons and vehicles. A side effect of element, little did both sides know, was that when element was used, it was also released into the atmosphere. Eventually so much element was used that the planet began to become corrupt with element and began to morph into a hive mind. Element began to create what is known as "Titans" and ravage entire cities. The URE and Terran Federation realized they had caused this and created an alliance out of desperation to save Earth. There were 2 plans to save Earth. The Reseed Protocol, and the colony ship. The Reseed Protocol was mainly put in action by the URE and involved putting many titanic lifeboats known as ARKs in orbit above Earth. The ARKs were tested in the Genesis Simulation where the Homo Deus tested the possibilities and limitations of the ARKs. The other plan was the Terran Federation-based colony ship. On this colony ship, were 2 Halo-esque rings that rotate continuously around the ship's middle frame. The goal of the colony ship was to travel to other solar systems in the galaxy and search the habitable zone of each star to try to find habitable planets for humanity to live on. Both the ARKs and the colony ship have a genetic copy of every single person that has existed on Earth thanks to the Engrammic Matrix, a brain construct that can stay active even thousands of years after death (The Engrammic Matrix isn't real). The reason why i say this, is due to every Extra-Life i've been on. I've seen people saying shit like "So donations will help the rates, right?"
I've seen people fucking 'mocking' the act of donating to a charity onstream before.
Yes, i know they're people who donate for both causes, and those people i respect.
But in every single Extra-life stream i've been on that's Wildcard hosted, and i've been on all of them besides the one back in 2016. People usually donate for self-interest.
Wasn't till 2019's Extra-Life stream that the donations effected the rates of official servers. And 'that's' when donations skyrocketed.

I don’t think ARK lore is terrible or bad in any way but it’s far from perfect.

It has a really cool premise that was executed really well when it hit, and really poorly when it missed.

But I wouldn’t by any means call it shitty, especially not with the writing that Aberration had (at least with Diana and Mei) or the ending of Genesis 2

The execution was done poorly because the lore is spoon fed through notes that will undoubtedly be found out of order and ignored in most cases

Plus some people just find reading entries boring, which is understandable.

Hopefully ARK: TAS will remedy that despite its blatant historical inaccuracies (and inaccuracies to the original lore in general)

How important Santiago really is before and during the war?

Is he really the "tech pioneer" with zero involvement in the war like Anti-social Tony Stark or is he making weapons for a faction?

They did not own him. He was more working for them but also was in a position to ask for a villa of them and to leave him alone most of the time.

He even states that people avoided him and only met with him when it was unavoidable cause of his personality and him not liking beeing around people much.

In Ext/Abs. he mentions he worked for the Feds.

Is there any lore for the manticore guardian? Where did it come from, whats its purpose etc? I love Scorched Earth but I know barely anything about the final boss of it
