Yeah the Gen 2 notes don't offer much, they only explain why there is actually a new Santiago now, a bit about the ship itself and if you look closely into them in the game (only there) you can get a tiny bit of info on the war in pics and small side notes on them. Gabriel's notes are actually pretty useless and Nida's only give some info about the ship.

You think they'll ever cover what happened on Earth after the Reseed protocol was initiated? Kind of curious if the Aberrant Ark crashing down and unleashing Rockwell complicated the whole matter. Also how would the various denizens of the Arks have reacted to having a brand new and frankly hostile world opened up before them? Would there be politics and/or wars between the various Arks as they come in contact with each other. Would characters such as Nerva who previously died have been respawned assuming their Ark still had their matrix on file? If they ever got their act together would they learn about and go searching for the Genesis ship and it's people and if they somehow met would the two peoples go to war. Would there be versions of Nerva, Helna, Mei Yin, Rockwell, etc. who had been resurrected separately on the Genesis ship and thus had no memory of their counterparts on the Arks? The lore possibilities are endless and I hope Wildcard throughly explores them.

No clue if they ever cover what happend on earth or if they go back to it. Before Helena it feels like there was only an on time option for the person and after death never could be brought back. Like the person got sorted out and deemed unworthy to go back to earth.

When it comes to counterparts on the ship they would be like Santiago, without any memories of the Arks cause they never had that experience. They would be clones of the originals that lived in their specific times.. maybe with some altered memories to make up for some stuff or to make them fit better but they would not be the same like on the Arks and all would mostly play out different.

I just realised: in the lore it says that the arks revive completly random people and doesn't fill in any memories. However the lifeboat ship revives everyone and fills in memories, this might mean that there is another helena without any memories of the ark, not acended and thinks shes worked with/for the terran federation for a while.

What Scorched Earth needs: TLC for DLC creatures, a fix to make windmills more compatible with gas generators, another boss with map specific Tek grams, a way to negate the negate impacts of Sandstorms so people aren't forced to wait them out, decreased density of predators and increased herbivores, more ways to acquire water, and an ascension and cutscene.

My understanding is that a meteor brought the first traces of element to Earth where mankind discovered it's miraculous properties and subsequently fought wars trying to acquire what little element there was at a time ironically using element based weapons to do so. I think it a twofold of Rockwell's personality/experience on the Island and element's influence. Rockwell on the Island was highly respected because of his various accomplishments and when people either turned to Helena for answers or straight up ignored him it made him jealous and dangerously unstable. The other half of the equation is the element. Element after the fall of Earth is sentient and has been confirmed to tempt it's victims. Rockwell's experiments on element starting on Scorched Earth likely left him exposed enough that the element could tempt Rockwell ever so subtle.
