I'm really sad they retconned diana/mei yin in extinction, because diana only being able to think of that cheesy "Miss me, beautiful?" and Mei Yin loving it anyway was just the best thing
its just a sad diana had a terminal case of "diedoffscreenitus"
Even if they’re the same colors it doesn’t fully show them all being the same thing. They are all made of element but corruption is a whole different path element takes with what is shown by Rockwell since the raw molten stuff doesn’t trigger corruption at all
Atleast when it’s directly injected into something’s blood stream
what im saying is they could have called it something else than "purple element" when element is already purple
That is a bit of an issue with lost colony since they rope corruption and the stuff Rockwell used as purple element which… isn’t wrong but also isn’t right either
Maybe just acknowledge it by having a character call it blue and Rockwell insist it’s purple
That still isn’t accurate. It’s just best to call Rockwells purple and the stuff on earth it’s whole other thing like simply calling it corruption
Then again corruption doesn’t exist anymore on earth so that could be what is being insinuated
id say call it edmundium but that would just be stroking his ego
even though he called regular element that any ways
Yeah, so either way it’s just kinda a mess but I think I’m actually understanding this a bit now after careful thought
The lost king is just calling Rockwells purple and not at all referring to the corruption since it’s not on earth anymore so I think Rockwells purple element is really just all that remains
Atleast of bad element
like I understand they wanted to diffrenciate rockwells element from red element and even the element we use in tek...its just they should have named it something else
the different kinds of element they are comming up with just remind me of the over complicated different types of energon in transformers prime
that is a show i havnt seen in years lol
I always assumed tek element was refined and therefore biologically inert, hence it not appearing to be corruptive on its own, and would also explain why mining and refining it pissed element/hivemind off (essentially humans were ripping it apart and killing it piece by piece)
But now apparently it's just a different color...
Do we know the reason why the arks couldnt purge the element from arat prime ?
Just its dome, but it probably didn't help that the Ark assigned to land there was corrupted, damaged, and crashed
The dome.
That's all
Think the only way to fully kill Element, is to either Thanos snap it via a Reseed protocol, or to completely merge it into an alloy.
If there's any amount of energy within the Tek device though, that can still produce Element spores for it to pollute and regrow.
Meaning that it's still at least somewhat alive. Whatever "alive" is with Element.
Element spores?
The One Who Waits states in an Ext note that Element spreads via a spore-like way.
You burn Element for fuel, and the blue particles you see are microscoptic amounts of Element.
They settle on the ground, and over time, they can grow into new Element ores, and then eventually Element veins.
They're not literally spores.
But she compares them to spores, so that's what I go with.
Not a headcanon. She states that in a note.
It's kind of just conductive reasoning to come to the conclusion that, if refined Element can still spread and pollute, as stated in the notes. That refined Element is still likely 'somewhat' alive.
Oh no i mean the blue particles from burning it themselves being spore like
Yeah, pretty sure that's also confirmed.
And refined being alive... I'd say I'd love for them to confirm or deny it but. I don't think the lore really matters anymore
its honestly a good thing the lore takes secondary priority to me over the childlike fantasy of running around with pet dinosaurs/dragons (not that them botching the lore so badly in LC was a good thing)
Didn’t Mei and Diana survive the king titan and leave extinction so they could find arat prime? Where is Diana now? Only Mei found the lost colony
They just never mentioned her. She may have died again or they might be retconning her revival, we have no idea
Hmm but she has to be dead right? Because it wouldn’t make Sense if she waited all that time while Mei was the lost Queen, also we do see her as these ghost like cutscenes in the introduction of the lost Queen like she is already Dead and in the end Mei just leaves with Helena and both of them want to bring Diana back on Arat
We can only guess
The codex theoretically should only have base blueprints of people from earth; that's how it worked in Genesis 2 with Santiago so if they're trying to revive Diana again WITH her memories of Mei Yin and the Arks and Helena, they'd be retconning how the engram codex works
Possibly Helena can just do it again but then I've no idea why she'd need the codex
Those Things will be answered in Ark 2 Right? Or is that something Bobs true Tales could answer
Ngl the writing, plot holes, and retcons are so bad right now, the legit answer is that we have no idea
They might wrap it all up in a believable way or further muck it up
Doesn’t she need the Codex to bring the people to arat? I mean she isn’t that homo deos thingy anymore Right? And how did Rockwell get into the lost colony?
Hmmm it’s kinda interesting that’s why i watched neddys 2 hour video
She still is homo deus as far as we know (which raises serious questions about hln-a in the new timeline)
Rockwell crashed on the aberrant ark at arat prime as presumably a fresh clone but with his memories
Ohhhh so is she like those Voices Mei and Diana heard but now for Meeka or is she like a real Person with powers?
Ohhh i thought the lost king had him teleported with the Codex, do we know how the lost Queen got poisoned by the purple Element?
We don't really know but given that she appears from thin air and meeka says she's heard her all her life she's not corporeal at least
For the latter I'd watch all the explorer notes from LC; they're uploaded to youtube by now and it's sort of a spoiler unless you want a spoiler
I already watched them but I dont think that they told us how the lost Queen got infected Right? Also thanks for answering my questions!
They do, she attacks Rockwell and drinks his blood
And nppp
It's in the final Rockwell notes on the map
Ohhhhh okay thank you
Who is the lost king in relation to the lore may I ask
a guy that lived in Arat prime and found red element and lived off zombies
Scientist/admin in charge of the genesis launch site region
Admin turned LARPer lmao
I know they tested the magmsaur on scorched but decided not to allow it to be there in the lore but was there any other creatures mentioned to have been tested on another ark or was it just the magmasaur?
Think magma is the only one
It was only mentioned that the magmasaur was the one tested. No other creatures
Where is this chat for?
Lore...
Okay I’m back and I have realized that there is that one scene in the lost colony lost queen introduction that could explain what happened to Diana, in that scene the lost king speaks to meiyin about her allies and there is the scene where Diana says “You’ll come back for me right babe? Never let go, I don’t think I can face death again alone” where she already gets out of her mek so that means that scene was on extinction, so maybe she is still alive and is waiting outside that barrier that keeps the lost colony alive while mei was the lost queen, ofc she could have died from something else but the result is the same, Helena needs the codex and the ship on their planet to revive both of them on arat
I've no idea, the codex shouldn't have their Ark memories but I have a feeling they wrote that scene first and then retconned it... hopefully they clarify at some point
Kinda says it in the channel name bud 😂
No it says lore nerds but there is no lore in here
yes it says "lore" which means its a lore channel where people talk about the lore of the game
Hey, did anyone catch what Helena comments on LC when you receive your first Thrall? The comment from the Lost King is in almost every youtube video and Helena's in none. I only understood half of it.
"I think you might've won this one over by helping an Outpost. That's an interesting development."
Thank you! <3
Y’all just a quick what-if thought.
What do y’all think would have happened if Abberation crashed into like the dark zone of Earth on Extinction instead of the daytime side and ended up near the Lost Colony?
aberration did crash near arat prime. the "dark" side of the earth
oooooooh okay.
I got my lore confused.
I’ve been sticking to NeddyTheNoodle’s Survival Stories for my lore basis and I guess Lost Colony is screwing up my memory lol
This vexes me
Lost Colony outright retconned a lot of stuff
And is extremely inconsistent with the former narrative, lol
For example, Mei-Yin's Survival Story is no longer as accurate as it once was, since her entire pre-ARK backstory was revoked in Lost Colony.
I think they are trying to merge the game and animated series together too much
(Why did my autocorrect put korea lol)
Yep that's been the case for awhile now lol
Let's shoehorn the NONcanon story into the CANON one
Ruined a 10-year narrative award
I love the game, and I like TAS, but man.
I’m fine with them being like, alternate timelines. I may not like some of the adaptional choices in TAS, but as long as it and the game were these two separate universes, I was fine. Now, not only are they retconning, but it’s extremely sloppy retconning. The kind where you genuinely don’t know what the story is now.
Lore wise, Lost Colony is a nightmare unless I can make it somehow work by cutting out unnecessary details.
Actual content wise, I like it. Boss fights are good and the lost kings VA killed it on performance. Map looks awesome and DEAR GOD I love the cosmetics.
It’s better than Aquatica I’ll tell ya that
Without a doubt the work of the Snail doing this
ALSO.
I think for me to make Lost Colony work in my book, I need to ignore her Pre-ARK story getting retconned but probably can fit it well.
Maybe after Mei Yin’s time in Extinction she goes to Arat and then gets turned into the Lost Queen following the dope MAPPA animation.
Then most likely the reason she looks the same in her cutscene where she is turned back to normal compared to when she was fighting the Lost King is because the Lost Colony is like a vampire kind of thing so it stopped her from aging?
(Girl got Twilighted on the OVERSEER she got vamp’d)
Then the Lost Colony NOW when we (Survivor) defeat the lost king is like decades to a few hundred years maybe after OUR events of Extinction when we purge the element?
It's complicated, lol
Wait, is it actually mei yin like physically there in the cutscene after the Lost queens defeat? I just assumed it was some spiritual homodeus bs and not her physically being there (no clue if that makes sense)
Yeah, she’s physically there and alive.
i guess the red stuff made her immortal against her will
and brought back her arm apparently
What are you talking about
Mei lost her arm against Darius in their cutscene
and if you look at the lost queen her suppsed "lost arm" looked fine like it's not remade
the new arm should not be the same as her normal one, it doesnt feel like she lost it at all if a "typical ARKer" skips cutscenes
Dude they gave her wings, lol
And made her like, an extra 3ft taller
They could make her a new arm 😭
the survivor can do that
??
what i am pointing out here is that
LC is a consistancy nightmare
even in their own contained "lore"
I’m pretty sure that can just be explained away as “lost king made her a new arm” and it just un-mutated alongside her
Like, that’s not a far stretch.
Yes it is, but pointing out something with a very clear explanation as if it were any sort of inconsistency is just disingenuous, lol
i am a firm believer of visual/enviromental storytelling and just looking at her without the context of the notes doesn't tigger me that "she lost an arm"
usual ARK player: skips cutscene
Literally just hype moments and aura, lol
You don't need to know that she lost her arm to understand she failed to retrieve the Codex
That's explained more than well enough in the ensuing bossfight
That's like saying Rockwell failing to draft his second letter to the Iron Brotherhood is crucial to his descent into madness on Aberration (it's not.)
Also a player could just as easily not notice an environmental element of the storytelling, so it if cutscenes and notes can be disregarded, so can the environmental storytelling
the difference here is that the iron brotherhood wasnt namedropped nor really cruicial to the rockwell plot until Helena sooo, still big difference
Actually, it was first namedropped by Rockwell.
Also, again. Mei-Yin losing her arm isn't important. At all.
You're speaking as if it's crucial to some kind of character arc, lol. It was just there to be cool.
What did you expect? Mei-Yin to yap about missing her arm half the fight? I'm confused.
Also, if you're wondering how she magically got her arm back after it all went down, the Codex is just feet away from Mei-Yin.
what i expect is her arm be different given the aestethics of the red element mutation and darius pale arse
But why?
It wouldn’t matter since red element and element gets purged, so it would just go back to normal anyway.
Why would the Lost King rebuild her arm imperfectly? 😭
i mean they can clone dinos from basic info and basically 3d print mass produce things so regenerating an arm kinda seems basic as hell
is his thralls are perfect tho? like a 1:1 clone survivor replica?
“Eheheheh, as proof of my victory, I shall add TWO thumbs, as proof of my victory!”
They start that way. Then they mutate due to red element.
i mean hell i can see them when they revived a survivor who had say a major issue like downs or some other genetic issue they just removed that to put them in the most fit form
granted those college kids kinda implies they just chuck everyone as is at random so 🤷
so for the reseed protocol, when you have element in you, would the protocol just kill you?
or would it just purge the element and leave you ok?
would it kill the creatures that have bonded with element beneficially like the Snow owl and Managarmr?
I honestly assumed that the Mei Yin there was some kinda mental meeting, since she's basically physically dead & suddenly not a 20 foot tall demon vampire. And Helena is there, and is not physically there, so.
Man that's grim, I hadn't even considered that. I figured it'd wipe all the Thralls you have working your base though rip. I'm pretty sure it'd kill anyone who did have Element in them
Rockwell talks about how the Lost King could just put his entire people and himself into clean new bodies to survive the Protocol, and asks why he doesn't, and the dude basically says "vampire cool lmao" so I'd assume it would kill them as-is
The Survivor can't regenerate a whole ass arm.
After watching Raasclark's boss attempt, Mei Yin cheats as the Lost Queen and the tethering phase is rebuilding herself through the Codex. "Oh you ruined some vital organs, let's have some new ones quickly lol", one arm is nothing against that.
Turns out Mei Yin was just a really big Wolverine fan.
that dunno tbh
remember thing back in ase a dev or someone said yeah they dead but not sure on that plus feel like the pulse was in the ground so if it did affect them they could land after and maybe be fine?
I think it's kind of a spectrum
We have Red Element in ourselves at the end of Lost Colony, but since it was such a little amount, we were not killed
Though Creatures like the Gigadesmodus and Managarmrs are more than certainly dead
I'd like to imagine that some of the lesser Thralls survived the long dark, and were given a second chance on the Reseeded Earth.
Personally I think no
Because there is still element in genesis
So I would guess that only corruption got destroyed
So snow owl and mana should be good
I guess
That is fair since somehow the owls are on the ship
Also
If pure element was destroyed the arks and the gen ship would have been destroyed
HD Helena stated "purging element" in the ending i recall, not "purging corruption"
As for genesis, it's long gone before the reseed reached it anyways
So more purging the purple and red element but not blue?
In note 17 of the one who wait she says that there will be some corruption left post reseed protocol
Is that ext or lc?
Doesnt make sense if it's ext
If LC that is just from Ab falling while red element is preserved due to darius' shield blocking the reseed (i recall)
Extinction
If the shield is element powered, wouldn’t it be weak to the protocol?
I read to this later, i am not on PC
That's irrelevant
And yes, the Reseed killed Manas, Velonosaurs, Snow Owls, Gasbags, Gachas
Why?
Why gasbag?
Because the Reseed Protocol affected Earth, not the entire universe, lol
Gasbags have Element in their systems.
Their bellies.
Well the ark still exists
And they were totally made of element
The ARKs aren't made of Element lol
They CONTAIN Element. There is Element used in their infastructure, but they aren't entirely Element.
And they worked for as long as they needed to, to purge Element. Then they themselves were purged.
So essentially what would be left is the earth and water that was apart of it?
Pretty much
And that was kinda the point, just to reseed & terraform Earth.
The megastructures would likely be there too, just without the Element, lacking functionality.
It was in the pulse range and it just kinda got flattened due to it
I wouldn’t mind another expansion set on earth post extinction that actually shows us human civilization rebuilding, and what the society of a post reseed earth look like.
Imagine being a survivor just trying to live your life. You’ve got an apartment in this abandoned city.
And then a giant Kaiju duel happens and suddenly the city just collapses in on itself
They probably respawned, tbh
Rockwell respawned once he died in Aberration's crash
So there was a bit of a grace period, it would seem. Even if fleeting.
Oh, yeah, they likely did.
Not too sure about the apartment, though.
Respawned with nothing to their name.
Crap forgot my little buddy (Armordoggo) in the city-
I hate to break it to ya
But he was vaporized when the ARKs landed, 'cause of the Element in his system

Do they have element in their system? I never actually tamed one so idk if they actually are like the other element based animals
So, how do the Genesis-2 Ext creatures work?
They have some Element growths like any of the Ext-creatures
Yep. Dreadnaughts as well.
The Gen2-Ext ones are fine. They're away from Earth. Though, most, if not of them are on the Garden Ring, so dead.
But the Codex has copies of the base Creature nevertheless.
So they could be brought back without the Element?
If altered to survive without it, I guess. But they use the Element in their quintessential functions.
Like, Manas use it for their jumping & dashing.
Guess with how extreme they'd need to be altered to live without it. They could be considered more of an evolution of their predecessors then flat out their previous versions.
Astrodelphis laughs in space
guys i jus beat extinction and im confused as to why genesis exists
we already saved earth
or did we
When was going to shit, they made 2 back up plans
1 is save the earth via the reseed protocol
2 is find a new planet
so if its already saved why dont the genesis ppl just come back🧠
They are millions of light years away
so theyre just not gona come back? why did we save the earth then
They didn't know if it was gonna work, their plan already working and it not long after the RP starts coming down that Genesis finds arat
Because the Seed Ship was meant to colonize a second world
1.) They don't know Earth was healed
2.) It would've been counterintuitive to return
okay i get it, thanks both of you
I kinda wanna see Nerva again
See him have a crisis over his purpose and then reform, unlike Rockwell
And even if not, the city got vaporized RIP. That always cracked me up in an awful way--my base was in the city, and the hopeful happy tone of the end cinematic of Extinction was SLIGHTLY marred by my utter horror watching it get obliterated by the Island Ark landing there. Oh my god. There goes my base, and all my tames, lol
i feel like whoever did the end cinematics might not have considered the actual lore of the map. Eyeing up the Antarctic turning into jungle rn.
Yo, who the heck is Charlotte ?
Rockwell was a dad before...all this ? OOOOHHHH does he became those tentacles thing because he think he could ressurect here ?
Combo that and the friend he made...yeah he is kinda broken, no wonder the element was able to corrupt him
they're (unfortunately imo) making the animated series canon and i think that's his daughter from there
or i should say, at least parts of it, idk if the whole thing will be
Pardon me but I think that there is TWO continuety, hear me out: the animated series on Paramouth is indeed not canon, but the animation from Lost Colony for example are just a way to give the story outside the usual notes or voicelines (yeah my hear me out suck but that's the only plausible thing I have in mind)
you can headcanon that, but they're introducing a lot of plot points from the series into game notes, which makes it game lore
(Unless there is literal scene from the animated series that are inside the canon and then, this theory is dead)
unfort a lot of that is retconning the old game lore, like diana being revived is just missing completely
HEADCANON ?! remove this word of my face, It's only a simple theory, neither true, neither false but a possible thing, headcanons are dangerous in fandoms and it's wise to not bring this in a discussion (and sorry if I sound rude)
it would be headcanon yeah because the animated series stuff is in the game now, charlotte among them, but also helena x mei yin, mei yin being a martial artist instead of beast queen etc
But i get what you mean
they are retconning diana x mei yin being a couple on Extinction, having them break up in Aberration retroactively via Lost Colony notes and so on.
I mean....It's wasn't the case already the lesbian stuff with mei Yin and Helena before the series ?
No. Mei Yin was with Diana.
there was no point in the old lore at which she could have been with Helena, that's animated series content being kinda shoehorned in
Yeah it's start to get confusing, Wildcard what the hell ? Can you just separate animation and the game like all medias ???
welcome to lore nerdz 🙂
Sigh...it's going to be a pain worse than Marvel or DC
Do there is a list of all the retcons I can find (at least the official ones) if this is happening ?
(Also i'm starting to think that ASE and ASA are just two timelines at that point
I believe there's videos on the topic, but there's no list. a couple of the folks in this channel may have links/videos
TAS is not canon.
Wildcard is intertwining the two closely, but they are not canon to one another.
that's why i clarified parts of it!
That did make me wonder, do you have a vid up about the divergence in lore for ASA? I haven't searched
Nope
damn okay
Then....it's not canon or not (The animated series) ?
TAS isn't cannon
It’s not canon to the game’s timeline. It’s canon to its own timeline.
but the writiers are trying to jam elements of TAS into the game canon
Yeah, that doesn’t make the entire animated series canon
I see
Not canon but shoe horned because "we have these Hollywood assets but nothing to do with them"
@mental basin hey wanted to ask how the lost colony lore video going to come out cause I am mighty lost
The audio is recorded. I'm still editing it together, along with the visuals and music. There's a lot of work to do, but it's slow working on both the video and my job.
Blah blah blah, Patreon has exclusive behind the scenes stuff, I'll drop a trailer eventually.
Dang your making videos and have a job that’s actually crazy I could never
I don't have money for patreon, but will probably watch it and give like
Something that did make me think of maybe weird incoherences ? (Idk what to call it but let's just say incoherences)...Creatures made by Rockwell like Summoner, the zombies, Noglin or Shadowmanes (same applied to the Gigadesmodus and the Thrall for the Lost King) are like your enemy, and it's their creations, they should be under control...but you can tame most of those beasts and creatures, more or less ease (and i'm not even talking about the Titans, who are completely made of element, the thing that make your world dead), but you can spot in the black dots and he became your best friend.....I try to check Somewhere like some lore stuff on the wiki but there is nothing that tell how it's possible if those things are like Rockwell's création, Lost King control or just, pure abstract beings made of matter that destroy your world and probably have a strong connection with the hivemind of the Element....Someone have a idea how it's happening ?
(outside of gameplay of course)
I can only assume you breaking hive mind control by destroying element spots on them. About thralls no idea, will check their dossier later, gigadesmo is just a tame. Rockwell creatures probably not fully controlled, cuz why summoner not attack you right after Rockwell eye see you.
The titans is u severing their connection to the hivemind, they start and die shortly after being disconnected.
Gigadesmodus and Rockwell are just animals, summoners and microphage are the immune systems if the inwards
Thralls are reward, so they likely removed from the hivemind of the lost, makes sense for the defense outpost rewards, not so much on the attack ones
Thralls can also join you if you do attack outposts.
Meaning they have enough freewill to fear The Survivor and join them out of it.
Which tells me they're not really a "hivemind". Just telepathically connected.
We're infected with Red Element, yet the Lost King can't directly control us.
the process was also interrupted so maybe he can't and is stuck doing the voice in head stuff
I doubt it, because if he had fully control. We wouldn't be able to get thralls via the attack missions.
Why would he give us thralls for destroying his outposts, and commanders?
for us acting as a challenge and ensuring they don't get complacent? or maybe we breaking the link and he's claiming they're 'rewards' to hide how ticked he is?
Thinks those are pointless stretches, to an easier, and likelier solution.
If I recall right in their dossier, they're called "Homo servilis".
They where made specifically to serve others.
There was a time when Arat Prime still had humans in it. So likely people with more authority where issued their own thralls.
But civil-wars broke out, eventually leaving Darius as the only non Homo servilis left. Making every thrall serve him.
But now that another human (us) is here. They now have the opportunity to serve someone else that isn't the Lost King.
he's prob still mad there's another 'rival' tho given he only one left before we arrived his ego's prob through the roof
I know we only see it happen near sanctuary and arat prime but do all the area's seem to just get covered in green? feel like some places should be covered in snow on earth granted dunno state of world and how much was already melted etc before the tidal lock happened
Sanctuary is on a border between the cold side of the planet, and the extreme hot desert side.
Realistically, this is actually the only place that'd be livable on a tidally-locked planet. Which is why it can hold some green.
Arat-Prime is inside of a forcefield with a city that produces heat. So things can live inside of here, including plants.
So outside of these specific spots, the entire Earth should be dead as either an arctic or Mojave-like desert before the Reseed Protocol.
i mean after reseed like will there still be frozen area's
Oh wait, I had to reread your message.
Yeah, I think the dev's fucked up in LC's ending.
i mean there could still be ice area's just wish if was could see outside of planet view
Unless Antarctica is no longer in the same spot.
Which is....very odd, because if I recall, that's on a plate that rarely shifts. So there'd be in theory no reason why it should've moved that much.
Then it shouldn't had been covered in green.
maybe reseed will remove element etc and then go from there?
burn em or convert into nutrients?
Yeah, I doubt that.
also looks like there was some white in scene but hard to tell fully
Gotta wonder but if the non story maps aren't cannon how does that work for the creatures from those maps that are on canon story maps? like pretty sure saw megaraptor on LC
Ask Devs
they prob don't know tbh just "it's cool so it there" 😅
Tbh it's useful to aggro only one desmo from a big group by using it's hunt
I’d assume the reseed just spontaneously grows plant life, it’ll eventually snow in the Antarctic again and return to what we’re familiar with, no?
who knows just find it weird it'd be there and suddenly jungle now if it was in the andes or something could see icing over and once RP kicks in the jungle returns
Do you like the Lost Colony DLC? (Lore wise)
For me it’s a 5/10. I like a lot of the ideas presented, but they fall flat in the execution.
A loooooot could be fixed solely by having it be set directly after extinction and lead into genesis
and not to tie in ||supposed to be|| "non-canon" spin off
We finally watched the Animated Series and I’m kind of surprised we never ran into some version of Nerva in the game. I know there were Nerva notes and that Nerva was “killed”, but the devs never seem to let that stop them from putting other characters in the game. Did I miss Nerva somewhere in the game?
Nerva just isn't that important, tbh.
His character arc kinda solidifies that fact. Compared to the scale and scope of the overarching narrative, he was nothing.
He realized this as he was bleeding out in the Hall of History, shortly before being killed by Mei.
I assume the TAS version of Nerva will come to the same conclusion, and end.
Fair enough. The first season of TAS made him seem important, hence my question. Like Rockwell could have built him in as a simulated mini boss somewhere
He's a bit more important in the show than in the game.
The two aren't canon to one another, lol. Not entirely.
Right… taken together the whole Ark “canon” seems fairly fluid. The bigger role in TAS just made me wonder why they never featured him in game. Nerva as a boss would make more sense to me than another random mythical creature.
Why's that?
NGL i like him more as a "boss" than Mei (because of the character's personal goals) but doesnt makes sense regardless
Personally feel like if they wanted to show the early story stuff with nerva and the significance he had on helena etc coulda seen some ruins of the legion and others to show scope of what went down but might just be me
Can fit pretty good on astareos
Random and prob dumb thought but did the ark network ever clone same person more then once? like maybe using nerva as example ever be on more then one ark at any other time?
Santiago has his multiple clone lifes, and Diana was brought back by Helena, but I don't think there's ever a case where someone exists in 2 places at once
Maybe if we assume genesis has all body's already made, the technically there should be doubles
in santiago's case the ship did clone literally everyone it had in it's data banks and dropped them off so couldn't that mean that nerva and whatnot was also revived and put in drop shuttle onto arat?
tho for all we know he was in one of the shuttles that got obliterated by the debris 😅
Is the Astreos Map canon?
Let Rockwell die kill him please please please PLEASE LET HIM DIE already PLEASE WILDCARD PLEASE
we all hope he doesn't come back or if he does be cured of infection but i do got theory on him if curious
its not a story map.
As much as I enjoy his character, he should have died on genesis
Well yeah but he’s implied to be in ark 2
And I don’t like that he is in lost colony
the theory is basically what if rockwell was indoctrinated by element like the reapers did to saren in mass effect just they did it so subtly he thought wasn't under control unlike the mindless minions around him and the thing hidden in remains of the ship helena mentions on LC cutscene was the element preparing another control node so that way if rockwell died it's network wasn't scrambled like what happened to the element on earth when the king titan lynchpin died
is he? is that from a lost colony note or something?
we knew he went there since gen1 released lol.
rockwell was at arat prime before mei yin got there
Well yeah but it would have been cooler to see more implications rather then like full speaking roles
I wanted to theorize rather then have it spoon fed
which kinda weird tho given the boss mentions rockwell warned him about her which odd cause rockwell didn't get to arat prime until 1k years before LC while mei yins thing was well before the events of extinction
they all knew each other from aberration.
I feel like Rockwell is being milked because he’s an enjoyable character (at least before they changed his character in every aspect)
we already knew he was there of course he was there lol.
like i said if rockwell somehow was on arat and cured of the element infection i could understand but if he somehow surives gen 2 only to be a problem gonna be annoyed
*also he is 3 of the 7 canon bosses 😂 *
I imagine if they bring him back for ark 2, he'll just be a clone.
Literally
also i have noticed something about the rockwell thing
I said this somewhere on my tumblr but die a good character or live long enough to be milked to dead by wildcard
that was 4 years ago tho. him being in lost colony was known since gen1. doesn't really count 🤷
helena mentions there's some remains inactive on bowels of gen ship but if you read the info about bobs true tales it mentions him and meeka's journey so guessing the BTT #2 stuff gonna describe them going into the ship to plant the codex and maybe fighting whatever creature is lurking there
he wasn't really milked. he was the ab boss then the main boss in the genesis mission. everything else is just how lore works.
him being on lost colony is because they used the connecting point to genesis, we know he had to pass through. its not milking, its being consistent.
I dunno I have a very medium take but I just want his story to stop already, I feel like he is a completely different character from when he was on the island (not in a character development way but in a “they are taking everything back about him” way)
the timeline and retcon stuff kinda janky tho
like i can understand rockwell being on the gen ship for 1k years since he had to fight a security system that wasn't destroyed but having LC take place after gen 2 and before ark 2? that not so much
I hope the animated series version of him doesnt get canonized he was such a bastard and i prefer the characterisation that he got corrupted and wasnt just always evil
tbf we didn't know any timeline prior so its not really a retcon 🤷 its just weird lol
If the animated series version of him is canon I will actually crash out
it is what it is 🤷
Same
Yeah but they are canonising aspects of it
Well they are starting to incorporate it into the main game story
mainly the whole helena mei yin and diana love deal :/
I’m mainly upset about the design change
also looked and "Bob's True Tales: Tides of Fortune: Continue the journey of Bob and Meeka after the events of Lost Colony, as they seek out the Evercave where ancient secrets have been buried"
I wanted old man shivering wet dog Rockwell💔
so yeah my guess is the ending cutscene we get is them maybe going to plant codex which hope is true
Also the argy being given to Helena was so cute
if they wanna give rockwell prime one last send off in a cutscene where it finished off voldemort end style all for it
I know 😭😭😭😭 I mourn them every other Thursday
I want girl and her withering old grandpa dynamic back
But they brought voldy back in cursed child too
eh never was aware if was canon or just add on fun for live action enertainment
but you know what i mean
the whole shriveled husk thing of maybe rockwell having brains to make a copy or maybe element did and once rockwell was gonna die the element severed the connection and put itself into new body to control and waited
I wouldn't be honest if I understood every notes and who was written them...sure for the main principles like Helena, Rockwell, Mei Yin, Nerva and Santiago...but others ? Not so much...even the One who Wait or the H-LNA is quite complicated even if I know the characters
Even the non-canon ones, like from Aquatica or on the are difficult to understand, especially those...dear jane notes ? Like what the heck is that ?
Is there a lore reason why armadagos on the map? I didn't even know they added this I just found out like 5 minutes ago and it looks really cool but I was wondering if it's any loer reasons since it's an Extinction
Same as the other creatures that are extinction native, dogs survived and adapted
neat lol
No
That's not the answer, lol
They were genetically engineered by the Terran Federation as war dogs
Hence the Federation Armed Forces tag which is a part of their Armor
They're an armadillo / canine mix
Though, their actual canonicity is debated, since Bob’s Tall Tales has been stated to be non-canon, by Jeremy IIRC
really? always assumed it was just to stay on the theme of the sanctuary
Wym?
that the saddle was just flare
Nah
ok
Also Sanctuary is a URE bastion city
It’s a wonder why Armadoggos are still there, of all places.
Oh wow that's the kind of lore that I wanted to hear hell yeah thank you also he also I think followed me or liked one of my comments on Twitter calling somebody dumb 😂😂 much love
do we become homo deus after extinction ascension? sounds stupid but i wanna confirm
no
we just don't have implants anymore
Helena is the LAST homo-deus because the only machine that makes them is no longer functional
i mean couldn't the actual stuff be added be canon while the stuff bob telling meeka still be uncanon just to keep here occupied?
i mean people could build nukes augment then with element so could see something like say battlerig existing
That does make me wonder how many survivors actually made it to earth before the disaster at camp omega happened tbh
Where is this information from? The only info provided on their origins in their dossier is that someone (presumably some of the Tek Tribe members) told Helena that armadoggos were a common sight before the apocalypse in areas contaminated with element, which would imply that they're just stray dogs that evolved due to element exposure. No mention of genetic engineering or any link to the Terran Federation.
They are called bobs tall tales. The assumption is that a lot is made up
Most of it came from the Extra Life
Which wasn't archived 💔
Ah, I see
But yeah, they said they were made by crossing Armadillos with Dogs. They're war mutts.
And they have blue Element in them, they wouldn't have evolved alongside the Element on the surface naturally.
(Plus, the blue element is deliberate, not random growth, like with Velonas & Manas)
To be fair, dreadnoughtus also has a more deliberate placement of blue element on its body, so given that they're the only new Extinction species, it may just be that Wildcard had decided to depict blue element a little differently on new creatures compared to their old ones
I guess this means that them being spotted around element contaminated areas is probably because those areas were contaminated as a result of warfare
This IS true. Likely an artstyle discrepancy. Now that you mentioned it, I'm pissed off, lol
The original concept for dreadnoughtus in the creature vote had it absolutely coated in blue element to fit with Extinction's creature designs, but then when it got added it was toned down to the point the element on it is completely concealed most of the time by those weird opening scales it has. I guess Wildcard wanted to keep the dreadnoughtus a little closer to its real world equivalent rather than going too hard on the sci-fi, but it is a little disappointing that it doesn't aesthetically match the other Extinction creatures
even if the reseed pulse didn't purge the velo/mana/owl/dread's feel like anything not underground or inside the 2 domes woulda been wiped out by the shockwave of the ark landing
guys is it just me or does genesis onwards feel forced?
i finished extinction a bit ago and it feels like the story later on is forced
idk said story but it feels like extinction shouldve ended it
no cause it's both extension and also only part of the story
Also the events of Genesis are set up throughout extinction
To add on they also explain the things prior in lore which isn’t too convoluted- Atleast until we get to lost colony which is a literal mess of inconsistencies
Which inconsistencies do you mean?
There’s the fact Mei went to arat prime alone when Bob was there and could of helped, the fact that there’s also the reseed affecting Antarctica to turn it into a jungle/forest when it’s a frozen hellscape several things actually in general
Too many honestly that slip my mind rn due to me not really caring for the story when I realized it was super rough around the edges. The only one that seemed to have an okayish consistency was the lost king and that’s putting it mildly
There’s also Rockwell too
Well he was there before he went to the Genesis Ship. And how should Mei known that Bob was there? Did they know eachother?
Bob LITERALLY was with them throughout the journey to earth…
In ASA’s story Bob was actually there
Who is even bob? And why is he there? Before he wasnt there.
He instead just went into cryosleep at homodeus Helena’s request while Mei went to arat prime (Even tho she shouldn’t have known what the codex was at that point in time unless Helena deus told her which still sparks the issue that Helena didn’t fricken warn her to bring any help!)
Wha- Okay to clear things up, Bob was a joke character for the animated series which became an actual character in the game due to the memes of beach bobs. Bob was there the whole time in ASA’s retelling and he played a hand in a lot of the situations such as the Nerva stuff, Scorched earth and the aberrant Ark leading up to extinction where the last we see of him is him being ALONE and being told by Helena deus to enter into a 1000 year cryo sleep
So he is a real charakter like Helena or Mei?
Yes
He is a real character in lore. He isn’t us, he isn’t a character for Ark 2 alone, he was there… the whole time
In Ascended, in base evolved he didn’t exist
If I recall Bob was a soldier during the events of a specific war? I forget which one but he’s quite the hardened guy at heart even though he’s a big goof ball
I think in ASA he fought in one of the world wars
ww2
he was one of the unlucky soldiers who never made it to shore during d-day
alot of that was tall eales tho to basically amuse meeka tho so keep in mind
find it weird he went into 1k year cryosleep when that would mean he woulda woke back up during extinction time area which makes me wonder what he did to end up on the ship and the world of arat somehow
also if i remember right the dear jane notes were canon just them being on island was non canon about how bob was in background trying to avoid the events of helena and co on the island story
While yes a lot of it was a tale that likely didn’t entirely happen one to one, that doesn’t change the fact Bob was in fact there
And wildcard is making it clear that Bob was in fact there and he was always there with Helena and all them during each maps events.
he was prob still in background for alot of it so my guess is he was on their side during the war with nerva's legion etc met up to escape aberration and whatnot and events on earth
what i wanna know is if she told him to go into statis for 1k years he'd take up around time ext takes place which seems odd like did she send him to the colony ship and mei yin to arat prime so hopefully at least one of them could get a codex
Which doesn’t really add up to the original lore since Mei and Diana were the last ones left on extinction but Bob was also alive there
I MIGHT be on copium but...honestly, the lost king is a antagonist, not a villain...I mean, even though he eat people and reduce his "people" into mindless beings but he seems to truly "care" for his people, just wanting to live in their way far from humanity....SURE SURE he was a obstacle for the codex when he could just give it to us and then let have his stuff back but...yeah he is more of a antagonist rather than a pure evil villain
i might BE UNDER COPIUM, maybe I didn't see if he did something horrible "horrible" or just trying to find good in evil, but pls tell me about this
Is there a single good character in ark
Everyone is either serial killers or a mass murderer
I mean by that that he doesn't do that for pleasure or for the love of the game or completely mindless, they THINK they do the right thing, like Nerva, sure he murder people but all he did was to 'pacify" all tribes into one, (But yeah he is kinda extremist with just "ONLY ROMAN EMPIRE remains"), and again Lost King was feeled abandoned behind when he was forced him and the other to stay on a wasteland, so he adapt and creatre his own civilization and doesnt like intruders who try to destroy his people (even if they are mindless puppets)
THAT DOESNT EXCUSE their atrocities, far from it, but that's explain why they needed to do it, I mean, look at our humanity, people seems to forget that for us to exist, we did atrocities, doesn't excuse it, but we did it (and hope we have to never do it again)
(Yes I might explain it poorly, i'm not a expert to explain clearly, especially when english is not my first language)
Understand and approve is two different things
I meant more like no one is really good in ark
Oh i see...
Like Santiago is a mass murderer but he did save the world
But...well...I see Santiago because he made weapon without think of the consequences and BAM the Earth is doomed but not for Helena or Mei Yin
Everyone is gray
Mei yin killed a lot of people
Like innocent people or like someone who wanted her death ?
And Helena created life that had to die again and again
I kinda see, but I would rather say that she neglected Rockwell when she see that his friend is slowly turning insane
I am talking about us
(I know)
Both
War and Nerva
I Mean, self-defence i'm not quite sure it's EVIL but she killed innocents during her former life ? I didn't see that while reading her notes 🤔
War kills innocent people
I get what you mean
(But the notes could have least mention it)
(that's would have make her more gray)
(Like "I remember the eyes of a innocent infant before he encounter my blade" kind of sentence or "I lost the count of people crossing my blade, which one where soldiers and which one were innocent?")
But i'm ain't in Wildcard Studio so idk what they were planned to do with the story
Well compared to Rockwell they seem way less evil(yes I know Rockwell is gray)
Antagonist, but villain ? Complicated to say so yeah he is kinda grey, a dark grey, but still grey
The end of Gen 2 is the best exemple of how he is darkgray
Well there is one character that is evil
The king titan
I was gonna say the cultist dude but yeah
Who?
Wait let me find it again
The dude with two engrammic matrixes, what is his name again
But like not the nice engrammic matrix part, the other one who is a cultist
Gabriel ?
I think
Yeah i think it's him
He is a greedy guy
Technically corruption is not evil
true
It is following it basic instinct
I don't think praying a false god and sacrifie people are basic instinct
True
Also why is the forest titan not imortal in game
I recall titans except the King, are multiples so would see necessary to make a immortal one plus immortality seems to not be real in ARK (or maybe a hyperbole)
I don't recall people saying he is immortal (in lore)
The one who wait extinction note 20
(Let me see that, wait a second)
<<It is the eldest of the trio, having started from a tiny weed, but grows ever taller as it assimilates the groves of its verdant realm. Even if its body is chopped to bits, it will eventually regrow. So long as there is the forest, there will always be a lord.>>
Then I suppose that he "died" but can always come back until the King is dead, like a seed that replant itself, that's why you can refight him over and over
But why can’t we keep him if he died tame
but again, here, She say like the titans (not the king) are singular entities and on the other ways, people are fighted a army of those ? like, are they a single entities each or just one over tons of them ?
Titan are Alive and conscious but they all are part of the hive mind
That is why you can tame him
Someone told me a answer and he says that he is a creature purely made of element, they are part of the hivemind and cutting those nodes are just cutting the link toward the hivemind but also his life support, like removing the blood pack from someone depending of it
By destroying the module you destroy the hive mind control
Pretty much
There a ton that are controlled by one mind
So why she say it like they were singular entity ?
Element is a single entity
That take control of other and create titans
And give them basic feeling like rage
No I mean, like on the one who wait note 20: First among his lieutenants is the titan wreathed in green, the Lord of the Forest. Ever growing, ever consuming, the forest is both its kingdom and its body. Bones of wood sprout flesh of moss and leaves, and fingers made of vines reach out for the throats of its enemies.
It is the eldest of the trio, having started from a tiny weed, but grows ever taller as it assimilates the groves of its verdant realm. Even if its body is chopped to bits, it will eventually regrow. So long as there is the forest, there will always be a lord.
She say trio like they were only 1 singular forest titan, ice titan and desert titan
There is only one they create them again and again and again
I know Homo Deus dementia is crazy but at that point X)
The lore and the game is different
I just think that's Homo Deus dementia thing that happen, I mean, we all know that Homo Deus start to loose their former selves slowly after time before fading (Only Helena was able to resist because she have DETERMINATION lol)
Theorethically wouldn’t the element purge kill every homodeus on earth
Idk, I mean Helena still survive since the end of Genesis part 2 so
maybe other but not her
She was in the ai of gen 1 and 2
From what I can tell, HLN-A and Helena are just different persons, maybe same memories but not the same individuals, like a double personality that became his own person...but less insane stuff
She even say it at the end of Genesis part 2
hln-a basically an ai that has similiar personality of helena but is her own person
Hlna is Helena but gpt4ified
more like cortanafied
I dont believe there is an actual lore explonation but do you guys think the ruined buildings were made from aberration crashing or attacks from the zombies
revenant
By the kind of ruins, just abandoned, not exactly destroyed
likely just attacked
the dude does say "they come back even now" or something so assume most of ruins were just his vassal towns attacked
"they come back even now" you saying about outposts, you can see them having some corruption. Ruins around map has none of it, exept some in aberration zones
and? going to several of thoses ruins hear him complain that our actions of exinction cause those places to become ruins once the aberration ark landed
Are Reaper queens actually weak to light or is it just a gameplay mechanic
I am more inclined to belive it's a gameplay thing given the Rock drake is stated to be one of the few creatures that rival the Reapers
They are weak to charge light
But what difference between light and charge light ?
Rockwell and element BS
Like if there is any dif? Because crystals produce lights, the summoner produce lights and they are fine
I don't remember the first Rockwell notes from ab too well
Charge light is just from z plants and light pets
And charge lantern
And charge light can be used as electricity
my guess is the radiation or something from the charge light disrupts elment or so of reapers and nameless or something
or maybe since it can be electrical it disrupts the shielding or so of some of em
Since the Rock drake is stated to be the reapers only natural enemy(Wich by definition means an animal who can attack and kill another animal) what exactly would that mean?
Helena defined knew about Reaper kings as she not only refers to reapers in plural but also makes it an active distinction while talking about in the Dossier
So there maybe a argument to be made on what exactly did Helena mean by "Natural Enemies"
As natural as hyenas being the bane of a lions existance.
Reapers are an apex.
Apex's still need "something" to keep them in line, so they don't overpopulate.
I love just randomly checking this channel because someone is always explaining something which great
Btw, charge light giving same effect to the malwyn, but no armor decrease
Arat is the planet the colony ship lands crashes on
like they said arat prime is where the genesis ship launched from while arat is new planet
So it’s not called earth then
Or is Arat prime just a location on earth
To be fair, if I reached a new planet, I wouldn't be calling it Earth 2: Electric boogaloo
Obviously
But then earth is arat prime and arat is new earth basically
just location on earth
Alright
surprised they didn't go with the most basic of name systems and just call it new arat tbh
lol fair
you got new england new this new that and whatnot but then again we got places in ohio etc just outright called london and same in other countries
So then Humanity is on both planets then
And didn’t Rockwell use the superliminal link?
Wasn’t it to earth?
rockwell was on earth to ship not reverse
Yeah but didn’t he have a whole Santiago situation where he found a way after Gen2 to put himself back into a version of Rockwell with a mixed consciousness?
That's what we go through at the end of LC
Referencing the Santiago situation where his personality was mixed with a prospector after his death to be brought back for the arks engineering
That was before Gen2
LC notes are set right after Extinction, and before the events of Genesis.
The map itself is set after the events of Gen2.
So is LC Post or Pre Genisis?
Yes
Notes are pre-Genesis.
In-game events are post-Genesis.
Original notes of The Island - Extinction --> Us playing through The Island - Extinction --> Lost Colony notes --Genesis 1 and 2 --> Lost Colony's expansion --> I assume Legacy of Santiago --> ARK-2.
Tech holds such a large part of ark and to eliminate it entirely would kind’ve delete the curiosity of what you might find
Tek* but I agree. I hate this new future focus of "ARK but it's only primitive"
ARK has always been about progression, and Tek acted as the natural endgame to ARK-1.
I do agree it should 100% be rebalanced from the ground up, and maybe stay as QoL enhancements only.
Where tek came from has never really been explained
An Astroid but yet from where
And when
Tek and Element are technically different.
Tek is the "technology" that comes from using Element. The sci-fi tools.
Element is the alien corruptive substance.
Calling every trace of lithium a battery.

depends on how primitive they go
prim+ plenty liked but for most part was kinda not really wel recieved so going like pure that for ark 2 feels oof tbh
cuando boss @devout tiger
Were the ARKs or the Genesis Ship the better Programm? And which one do you think is cooler?
you mean in terms of how they got results?
Yes
problem with arks is well you could die to something completely random instantly as soon as you spawn in first(and before us only) time on ark and whelp no more chances for you
while the ship gave you all the training and experience of the survivial in simuluation but that would only let you handle same stuff and if someone got into the system like rockwell then you're a sitting duck
personally i have to give it a draw
the arks were meant for you to survive and grow stronger fighting suped up dinosaurs etc with the expectation element would die down somewhat enough for reseed to mop up and any strange creatures left people would be prepared for while the ship was to train people in various environments en route to finding a new world failing to account for fact while world habitable might still have strange and bizarra flora and fauna like say pandora from avatar so just the volcano ocean and bog can only cover so much while lunar space seems odd given most people not going out into space on the new planet tho could argue it was meant to help them accilimate to strange stuff like astrocetus
Both had a expected way of things happening that likely in the end wouldn't have worked out if you went by as how they planned it setup as people of camp omega etc showed tho genesis ship's outcome on planet of arat since am not sure if other survivors were in their own simulationf or if rockwell got to theirs or not but we're 2+ years out on that so yeah
Yeah thats true! But i think its a bit sad that the Genesis has not as much lore.
But couldnt the ARK Just Clone more Humans? Why should the ARK concern itself trying to let the people survive?
if you replace someone weak with another weak person no progress is made the arks were developed to create strong survivors, the surviving part is the whole point.
it did it just did it at random and throw shit at the wall and hope it sticks
if you had to ask me and if we did an alternate history where both progress worked as is and whatnot i'd still say it's a draw
personally i dunno if the arks are still running post extinction and if they are how do they manage dinos and survivors etc cause you know those people could respawn like us and many would likely be under the assumption they could just die and respawn again
pretty sure arks just turned off after cleaning earth
you'd think they'd do something so people don't just fuck up and let element retake everything or mess with the arks and cause something bad to happen and then suddenly got another aberration issue with difference of alot of it wouldn't burn up in atmo
are there any potcast/vidos of are lore and if there is can you tell me were i can find them and in what order if there is one
search needy the noddle on youtube
he doesnt know what i know..
do you know what you know? cause with all changes to ark lore and tsa retcons don't think even devs fully know let alone us 😅
Helena said to the child that to respawn Diana (?) they have to go to the Core of the Ship, but there will probably be Rockwell. So is the Main enemy in ARK 2 again Rockwell?
And do you think earth will Play a role in the Story of ARK 2?
Sorry for my Bad Englisch, i hope you all understand what i mean.
unknown tbh but maybe we'll find out in legacy of santiago
Legacy of Santiago?
my theory is rockwell was basically indroctinated by element kinda like reapers did for saren in the whole "don't enthrall just make them think their thoughts are their own" like in mass effect and that whatever sealed in the ship core was something the elememt planned for incase rockwell died because after KT died he was the new lynchpin and if he died in hivemind gonna be disrupted and ruined so that's why rockwell was normal before death in gen 2
supposedly the cap off or so of stuff iirc
but yeah that's my theory and that the element is now dormant and is basically just trying to slowly recover without anyone noticing
Do the proto ARKs function Like regular ARKs? So does The obelisks can teraform the protoark and Clone Dinos? And do you think the animals in the protoark survived the landing of the ARKs?
i'd assume they were tested to that maybe but for most part think the creatures there just breed normally
also only ones in desert and snow dome
anything out in sanctuary just got obliterated by the shockwave
paul walker finna be back from he dead before Santiago gets his own game...
Probably, but certainly not to the level the ARKs can
We really dunno, though
And yeah, the Proto-ARKs can clone Creatures
what's your thoughts on what happened to all the arks after etc? you think they shutdown or would they just focus on managing their area's
Purged Element, then either purged their own supply or went into stasis
It's a little strange
i'd lean more to the statis thing tbh
like they went into low power mode and mainly just monitor ground for element levels
my concern is what happened to the overseers cause they were slowly becoming rampant or so and slight errors slowly grew so wonder if they shutdown or went into stasis too and error stuff was smoothed out
Element can't exist out of Arat Prime post-Reseed, but the Reseed functions via Tek, so it's likely that most of the ARKs 'waited out' the shutdown of AP's Great Dome, so that eventually, that part of the South Pole could be purged.
After which, all the Element in the ARKs was also self-purged.
The Overseers likely didn't stay past the start of the Reseed Protocol
They aren't the ones purging Element, the ARKs are
i know but i figure that once purge happened they're purpose done and only thing tethering them to arks finished so they fade away
And the ARKs run off of the System for that, which yes, the Overseers are connected to, but they are irrelevant to the Reseed entirely
Yah, it's very likely that with their sole purpose complete, they all just faded away into the 5th dimension
if the arks purified the element maybe they stored it in their tanks etc
tho what i wanna know is what's the plan to make sure people who don't know what cause all this to happen start messing with the arks that are in stasis etc
like even if arks in low power mode how do they ensure someone doesn't mess with them? is there some program thing that activates and just sicks swarm of dinos on whoever causing issue?
Element is contained all across the ARK
The Caves have Element
The megastructures have Element
So too do the Obelisks
The Element Heart is also supposed to have blue liquid Element beneath it, but ASA accidentally made it water
Mess with them how, exactly
like hacking or trying to get into the area's of breeding or some other area
wonder if the arks would detect people building up in them and default to the "no settling down here begin the purge and forcing back to tribal lifestyle" tho that just random thought and would be interesting
That's a good question
They prolly can't. I imagine that none of the teleportation Tek on Earth works past the point of the RSP
i can see them working just only within their area of control
I doubt it, tbh. There's no reason for the ARK's internals to keep functioning.
maybe but in the end we only know they purified the element and that they lowered their domes
like imagine this tho
you just woke up on a island ark your last memory was simple student or something and just as you're getting used to this strange world all of a sudden the reseed happens and you find out what all going on and thus even more confused
btw since there other survivors on arks after we trigger RSP what are the chances that some of them mighta got used to respawn thing like us and did something stupid only to find out no more respawns?
ExtraORDINARILY high.
Thousands probably died while the ARKs were coming down alone, lol. It's not like the ARK's Creatures stopped being genetically modified kill kill murder scale death monsters.
And some ARKs crashed, as well.
talking lore for games is so much fun
I thin they should fix mobile ark first
??
will say after finishing LC i expected more damage and debris etc from the ab arks crashing tbh but then again arks are pretty durable if it takes augmented nuke do cripple them tho makes me wonder how druable the obelisks are and if what all kinda hits they could shrug off
c
What's the difference between game Rockwell and show Rockwell? They seemed pretty similar to me. Both egotistical jerks.
Everyone seems to hate the show one for being different, but they seem about the same to me.
presentation
in note u see rockwell true color be revealed over time
AMS just hits u with a bat on the face in the first scene
Gotta say, I’m disappointed with how the wreckage looked on LC. Doesn’t look like a crashed Ark at all
techncially it's not even the ark
can look southwest and see the ark
i just wish there was more stuff that wasn't also full of the liquid element etc
Oh for real??? I haven’t noticed this, thank you for pointing it out
I’ma go on an alt account go GCM and check this out
Aren’t the hot springs and twilight forests the remnants of the fertile zone and biolum zone?
what i wante was more parts of ark could use as base and also more ruins or so that weren't as wrecked as the towns are which feel mainly on right size
nah just geothermal spots for the hot springs
Ohhh that’s right
they use geothermal stuff along with the red element to maintain barrier
Gotcha gotcha thanks for the correction
keep in mind the barrier that traps us isn't the edge of arat prime those big things on edges outside our world barrier where the barrier keeping reseed from purging the element
The long ass bridges?
Are you talking about the huge ring-shaped wreckage that you can see from the west of the map?
yeah that;s the actual ark
and yeah those super massive bridges with the terminals way in distance are what making barrier
So the time has come for our RP server to complete the Island. We have collected all the notes and are ready for the next chapter. As the server admin here is my question. ||It seems from my research into the notes and story of Scorched Earth that they had to leave their dinos behind (Athena) and made mentions that they had lost certain skills (bashing bugs with rocks and ability with rifles) but never once mentioned that they were "weaker" specifically. So my guess is that once we move from one ARK to the next they Mind Wipe us but our character remains to relearn new skills. Otherwise our implants wouldn't retain our previous accomplishments. Does this seem to mesh with the lore at current. I hear some people just start new character but that doesn't make a lot of sense. If Helen created a new character she wouldn't even remember the Island.|| Thanks fellow lore buffs.
personally i'd treat it as all dinos cept maybe one get brought with and rest get cryoed and don't reset because the lore of ark stuff is you're suypposed to get stronger and slowly get tough enough to eventually retake the earth from the element
I also found it interesting that for the Aberration notes ||they specifically mention coming through with their gear in tact so definitely not new characters there either.||
you could bring good enough armor and weapons to establish a footbold but not enough could just rush to endgame
It seems to me that they bring just what is on their person.
Helena's lack of equipment can be explained because she was imprisoned prior to this and likely had her tools taken.
that's what i meant tbh, bring just enough to establish small base like say some basic armor and a different weapon for each person and treat it like you got forced there and maybe the rest got lost mid transfer or something
so much rp potential 😅
Saw that LC issue video and so much issues all over and worried Gen 1/2 are gonna follow the way LC took
I have no clue what's their plan for BTT2 story part
is steam ark working?
from what i can guess and this is really big guess but the description mentions bob and meeka doing stuff and 2nd btt thing mentions finale to their adventure so thinking maybe the whole there's still a rockwell body or some other thing in hibernation will be handled in those notes or something and by time of ark 2 he either alive and cured or dead dead finally
If they bring back Rockwell
I hope he has amnesia, or something similar to LC’s opening, where it’s the previous Rockwell as this voice in the new Rockwell’s head
no if he comes back let him stay a person and realize all the horror he inflicted and become a reliable ally warning people of doing down the wrong path
That would also work
Ultimate realization after the last fight would be cool, like u defeat him and he can finally see clearly again but because of his choices he dies to edmundium sickness, but the actual evil that took over his mind starts talking in your head or something
Could have added abilities to skill tree etc.
yo
I found 10 bobs notes on ext it says I need 11 and 12 but no info on web about them all vids contains only 10 notes
I think you have to beat King Titan
Big question about the engrammic matrix thing: does this thing act as a soul ? Or just like a program and so the countless deaths that, for example, Rockwell, just make another individual and the original died ?
Because of the Gabriel situation and the fact that there were two Santiago at the same time
we don't know tbh could be the dead person brought back technically or could just be just a clone with memories but yeah kinda iffy
So two possibilities: the original rockwell is just another person compared to the one Helena encounter or when we fight it or it's really one character with one soul that can survive even in death....kinda messing I understand that
That's might be something to ask Wildcard
Another question that I didn't understand, even if I read Lost King note, what are Thralls actually? How they function in-lore ? Mindless flesh puppet or they are "normal" citizen but just connected to the Lost king (and us technically) and forced to do his bidding if he want to do something ?
(does they are the citizens or any "mindless" beings that served as food, i'm confused about this)
they're people
straight up people cloned and infected with the red element etc cause LK and co realized people took to the red element very well compared to animals
no they're not mindless which shows whoe LK isn't really just guy looking after his own since i believe it's clear they could literally clone bodies etc without any memories etc and whatnot but nope they get free well and are aware what's gonna happen to em
Understood but...those are the citizens of the Lost King kingdom (and so that's would be weird for us to be able to "tame" them) or are they the blood supply for the real citizens ?
uh they're probably both
🤔 complicate, this case is
But (it's might be copium) but he seems to care about his slave people thing
like when he died, he immediately alert Mei Yin (who was the queen at that time) and was like "My queen, protect the Lost at all cost, you are the leader now" thing
because he's their ruler and he likes being sole ruler of the area
he cares for them as much as most tyrants to up until someone gives him criticism then straight to dinner table for them
trust me he's not a misunderstood soul, the dude knows what he's doing and would prob do it again if he could
Never opposite that, but I think the Ark world is very gray, more or less darker or lighter, not fully black or white
maybe for some survivors but darius crossed that threshold and when his fellows disagreed they rose agains thim and bam civil war
Well...if you were abandoned on your desolated homeworld without a way out, you would try things to....survive, even if you have to do horrible things....Our gouvernment/society was build with blood, innocent or guilty, it's still blood
the thing is they basically went right to the fucked up shit and basically they gave up their humanity and clung to power
Just going to ignore the throwaway sentence in one of his notes, that states that his former friends are rebelling against him after he started doing the whole vampire stuff.
If multiple friends are telling you that you're an evil fucker, and start their own rebellions against you. I think it's time to self reflect.
But he double down on that thus he became a dracula larper and turned everything into castlevania
am good am good 10 is enough to get +5lvls
I guess the rest is when u want to collect all notes types
Who knows!? We live in a pesher, an electric ball flew in and began to destroy everything what it is? they shot at him, he flew away if we had not been online, then everything would have disappeared.
This sounds dumb, but that kinda makes me like him more
“Well, if I’m going to be evil, might as well go for the aesthetic!”
wait, so are we, "the one who tries again", also the genesis survivor?
who knows at this point
it was intentionally vague in ase but at this point looks like we get revived after ext do LC and by that point the genesis ship stuff has alread happened
personsally not fan of as we do something in genesis ship we get a flash forward of what they're up to tbh but at least hopefully that all that happens with the thing slumbering in the remains of the colony ship
so does the Genesis ship not have a matrix?
cause if it does, why did we need to go get Arat Prime's. Doesn't Helena tell us to go get it while she is on Arat? that would mean the Genesis ship already crashed right? So how would LC be a bridge from us being on Earth to going to the ship if the ship was already blown up and grounded? does that mean Genesis and Ark survivors are different people?
you gotta remember rockwell seized the ship and screwed up alot of systems and it also kinda exploded
also not all of the ship was destroyed
but essentially the ship's matrix was lost
basically
also if you watch gen 2 ending the rockwell ring and most of ship is destroyed but the eden ring is entering orbit of arat so maybe we can beam to that
ngl i really wish we could find a away for our survivor as one who tries again to also be genesis survivor but given LC happens after gen 2 unless our uploading using super luminal link sends us back im time not happening
but when we were sent to get Arat Prime's codex, did the ship already crash?
LC happens before it.
Otherwise , there wouldn’t be a ship to return to.
It is just a plot hole due to different writers .
uh no
one of the helena and meeka cutscenes shows the debris of colony ship entering atmo and burning up
also like i said the eden ring is still intact for most part since it in stable(assume so) orbit when it respawned everyone it could and jettisoned them down onto arat
Nah, a good 'just evil' antagonist is always nice.
I miss comically evil for the sake of just being an ass type of antagonists.
maybe darius had good intentions with his fellows survivers at start but once you go down the whole "imma clone and eat people" kinda clear is a bad person
Oh he 100% did. As shown in the notes.
But either due to mental corruption, or literal Corruption via red Element. He just became objectively evil after forming his kingdom, and his civil wars.
dude just wanted to be like palpatine i guess
you wanna know how i see it? i see it being like the symbiotes from marvel
like maybe the red element was corrupting and had stuff going but it could be him as source of the hive control
like we know red element and purple hate each other for most part
so maybe it's like symbiotes from marvel where they're similiar being but different personality's and desires along with fighting for control to see which element best element
Nope. The fact genesis is confirmed , and Rockwell being the antagonist on the ship says otherwise as shown in the explorer notes from lc .
ah but you're forgetting the true tales descrptions
aw can't share it :/
also keep in mind rockwell got to arat just after his ark crashed
LC takes place 1k years after reseed protocol
but yeah reading the desriptions of future dlc makes me feel like as we do dlc themselves we get snippets of bob and meeka making their way to the core of ship remains to plant the codex and encountering that slumbering rockwell copy or something helena mentioned
I hope when they find Rockwell he’s sleeping on a bed, with one of those nightcaps and an eye mask on, making exaggerated snoring noises.
I always thought the codex was needed for the ship to bring people to the new world they were expecting to find. The ship crashes after LC and with it the codex is again lost on the new world. The cutscenes you’re seeing with Meeka and Helena are essentially going to be the story line of Ark 2. Atleast that’s how I understood it. Everything I’ve read is LC is a bridge between Extinction and Genesis.
The ship basically either resurrected everyone who was not resurrected yet or woke them from statis and their own simulations or something since if you watch inititial gen 2 cutscene you see your character extiting a stasis pod which others were prob in
also nope LC a bridge between ark and ark 2 😓
Unfortunately
feel like if they wanted to make it so we're talking to helena in future while we're before gen 1 etc in LC timewise woulda been interesting but nope rip
Hi
Did anyone else notice how weird Helena was acting in the LC boss fight? "Rockwell left us a weapon" "It's too bad Rockwell left early or he could have helped us here" and calling it Edmundium herself, instead of Element?
I'd wonder if there was something to it but given the writing quality...
Helena misses Rockwell. Nothing wrong with the writing.
She has always remembered him as the friend she had on The Island, and not the monster he was on Aberration.
For sure but it sounded more like she was talking him up, it was weird. The Edmundium thing moreso. I'm sure it was just... another "arat prime was the ark launch site" screwup though
Also, the terms 'Element' and 'Edmundium' are used interchangably in Lost Colony, because up until that point, Element hadn't actually been formally named, so to speak. The Lost King says it kinda mockingly, and Helena just calls it Edmundium because, again, it wasn't ever really given a formal name.
So no, it wasn't a screwup there, either.
She always called it element before
She also had no personality.
Losing your sense of self is a huge part of being a Homo Deus, which is why she was so absurdly formal before Lost Colony, as after the events of Extinction, she had regained her sense of self.
I'm all for bashing Lost Colony for how much of a stinker ti was, but there's no use in looking for issues in places they really don't exist, lol
I meant more it's a shame the writing is not great because otherwise it'd look like a potentially cool plot point. a secret. a mystery. (it is not)
i mean they could call it Corruptium and it'd still be un major point
Edmundium is so much better
If only Rockwell bothered to clear up with Helena what she was doing with Mei-yin at the obelisks. They could have still be best friends if he did cause she didn’t know he hated her at all
but isn’t element what caused the destruction of earth how come it hasn’t caused the destruction of any other arks other than aberration?
Yo
wild element (purple) = bad
refined element (blue) = good
also it wasn't element that destroyed AB, it was the survivors
yea i get that but the description of regular ele says that it’s what caused the destruction of Earth and that’s why earth is all bogus
it was element polution as a result of the element wars
oh that makes sense actually
what about blood element from lost is that just exclusive to them and is lost an ark ? because i heard it banished those ways of the arks
think of that like element removed from normal puple elements hivemind and got it's own thing going on
That's...not how Element works.
All Element is just bad.
Liquid/raw Element is just the shit that will manipulate you into slaughtering your friends.
While refined Element is the stuff that cause pollution and growths for new raw Element to grow.
Element 'wants' to spread. So even refined Element is considered "evil" as it's actively spreading more raw Element to Corrupt the world with.
We see flakes coming off of the Element veins on Extinction. Which, if those are to be assumed to be the same thing as the spores Tek generators produces. Can mean that even without direct human influence, that it can spread on it's own. It's just likely slower without helping hands. (humans.)
What's the question?
Bro
U r based
Think they're asking "if Element destroyed the Earth. Why hasn't it caused other ARK's outside of Aberration to become malfunctioning"
Which, Element itself didn't cause Aberration to explode.
Yea, Tek tribe did
NGL the using element to augment a nuke and make it several times more destructive reminds me of the whole method behind nova bomb of just taking nukes and augmenting em and then proceeding to outscale originals big time
Fucked up part too, is that this was made by a single intelligent man with minimal resources on an artifical island.
Likely even more destructive ones where mass produced during the Element wars.
feel like there was more to it tbh like imagine if one of the people in tek tribe had the knowledge to build nukes and then santiago or others who knew of tek decided to add massive amounts of element to it and boom good bye aberration ark
Santiago is just Primitive Technology in a speedrun
(Primitive Technology made a literal turbo out of clay, sticks, and leaves BTW)
gotta wonder something
to get the materials they had to have tried pried opening some of the tek structures and stuff to get stuff inside to make the nuke but if the overseer had noticed them and tried stopping them Wonder what it woulda done since SE sent mantis and then wyverns and after failing just did the "whelp kill most of em and sink it all" method
Or do you guys think it tried but their tek gear allowed them to fend off stuff overseer sent to deal with them?
If I recall, they found Element in some cave. Meaning this ARK was intended for ease-of-access to Tek.
And technically, if you have the raw, base Elements all around the island they're on.
They cooooooould literally fabricate anything once they get a fabricator up and running.
So it was only a matter of time till someone tried something stupid.
surprised the overseer didn't react to the whole getting nuke stuff tbh
Probably because it was dead by then
it should aware of what's going on but assuming cause they're slowly having more errors longer they're up and even if it did notice as long as they kept it small and kept the whole tribal thing think overseer woulda just gone like "ah still being trible and not pulling a noctis so all good here" 😅
I wonder
Can a thermal nuclear Element-based warhead kill an Homo-Deus?
I guess maybe it depends how a Tek nuke explodes.
Because if it's like a normal nuke, but bigger. Then I doubt it.
But if it completely evaperates everything, including energy and mass (fucking someone via Element bullshit) then that dude is dead.
i doubt they died
"In Genesis, HLN-A notices that the Homo Deus technically don't exist in the physical world anymore and have their own plane of reality, a reality Helena describes that few can ever reach." so my guess is once the ark was suped nuked the home deus in charge lost any purpose now that their thing they just poofed away
granted they coulda already done that long before tek tribe got there given how long the arks were floating but who knows
They just go back to The Cloud™️
considering they lose sense of self they prob just outright cease to exist
Like a shockwave kills the flame since HD's are energy themselves
I lowkey imagine the force of the explosion kills it then the actual explosion makes the arena inoperable
Feel it was more like it scattered it and since the arena gone it left too which feel like that area is somehow acting as an anchor for them to be tether even if they're basically running on auto pilot
Question for the lore nerds: is there anything in the Ark lore to explain the ginormous, kaiju-sized skeletons dotting the landscape on some maps?
They where added because they looked cool.
That's about it, officially.
Like why the moon is shattered. Because someone decided that looked cooler then a intact moon.
There's only theories of the "why's" they're like that.
Ahh, I'd hoped there was more to it than that. Like, maybe they were failed experiments during the early days of the Ark's, and had to be put down.
Failed experiments arguably just work into the active ecosystem, instead of being killed off on purpose.
Aberration has a lot of abnormalities that aren't suppose to exist on an ARK.
does the same character from extinction go through the genesis simulation and fight rockwell again in gen 2? or is it some other survivor
it was left in the air in ase where could be same or seperate but considering LC takes place after gen 2 looks like it's gonna be a different survivor and our one who tries again who did ext etc just going straight to arat
i Just wished lost colony lore was the game lore and not the show lore
Gen, LC, and TAS is becoming the "Sequels" while the Island, SE, Ab, and Ext are the "StarWars Trilogy" of ARK
Ehhhhh, I wouldn’t quite say that
The sequels overall aren’t good, but they mostly don’t outright retcon events from the original trilogy and prequels, and even when they do, they were never that messy
How would you evaporate energy? "The energy is not created or destroyed, only transformed "
evaporation is a transformation of matter. not destroying it 🤓
Evaporation is when a liquid transforms into gaz
Exactly, of matter, not energy
they probably just mean if the nuke destabilized them so they die lol. nukes do cause EMPs so 🤷
still say it didn't kill the overseer just the avatar or or whatever was anchoring em to the ark
tho thought the overseer was still around and was fighting rockwell but iffy
is lost colony on earth?
opposite side of earth of extinctions sanctuary
No, it's on the Sun.
thanks m8
Killing the homodeus battery = killing the overseer
It's like killing the pilot will kill the jet plane
Both cannot be recovered either way
Weeeeeeeell.
If the jet is landed, it won't destroy the jet.
depends on definition of landing tbh
thing is home deus can't stay in our reality for too long so for all we know it was long gone from control over anything leaving overseer alone and still wonder what overseer woulda done if it realized they'd brough a nuke which someone had to have sacrificed themselves to ensure went off
Imagine being the person who does that thinking it'l save everyone only to find out it just make situation worse and leaving even harder
i don't state it's landed on its own in the middle of combat like the overseer does
Lore is cool
Every time I jump off a cliff it's cannon
In my head my surviver is actually deeply suicidal and his whole purpose for getting off the arks is so he can be freed from the endless cycle of life and death
In a way the arks are like purgatory and our bobs are it's denizens
Also cool robots and big monster
Not really, it would require being launched by it from a ship
so just to be clear, LC is after Gen 2, that's why we get sent to get the codex
and that's how we get to Arat Prime?
this make gen survivor and ark survivor different people?
if so, what happens to the gen survivor? they land and just live happily ever after while dealing with HLN-A being gone?
don't think we know this yet. in ASE there was conflicting information I believe.
it being after gen2 means it could be the same person. 🤷 I haven't seen all the LC notes tho lol
It’s the only thing that really makes sense since the Ark survivor can’t really be the LC survivor cause by then the ship had crashed
Is it not the case that every time you die in the game your ability to and this your respawn is technically canonical or am I missing something
because there isn't a way in ark that can bring back dead people with their memories 😂
Other than the respawn which apparently needs the codex, which each Ark apparently has vut the one on the Gen ship got destroyed, causing us to go need to go LC to get it, even though we literally could have taken any of the other codexes from the arks and have the main mission be getting to Arat Prime some how
arat prime is the only place that could communicate with arat
also the intro says that its the last one. the arks don't have them
Ah true. Guess that’s in the name then. I wonder how they made the clones then if the arks had no codexes
Or did the clones just not have memories?
Of their past cloned selves
probably them just talking to each other lol. or they were destroyed during reseed.
its also the only place element survived lol
I just wish it was more an in between of gen and extinction rather than extinction and Ark 2
wonder if thats connected
If the codex is powered by element?
Most likely
I just feel like following Diana and Mei’s footsteps to Arat Prime would have been better narratively
Rockwell still has to get there earlier anyway
Maybe not human him but the monster clings on and manages to get safe passage before dying
Saving himself by becoming code
Or at least å part of the gen simulation
I think most people wanted ext-gen
them doing ext/gen-ark 2 was a surprise.
if LC took place a while after ext and we gotta chase after rockwell and reason why it took 1k some years was that's how long it took home deus helena to regain self
See that's part of my idea that reason why rockwell so normas as he was dying in gen 2 was the element basically released it's hold on him because it didn't want the backlash from losing hiveminds primary lynchpin be destroyed and disrupt it like what happened to the KT and is why there's some other thing left behind in ship it may wanna use
I thought it might be more the reseed protocol took that long
In extinction ending it seems to go by very fast
True
But Helena did say ‘in time’
When referring to the element being purged from earth
Yeah
I mean it’s been there for a good while
Gonna take more than a few days to clear it all
LC could have been so much better
Yes. Yes it could have
the 1k years thing was iffy on but was fine with
the shoehorning of TAS into stuff and the ingoring of gen's to connect to ark 2 was real meh tbh
I’d rather play on an earth that’s still healing while we travel and get to Arat Prime and do what we need to do
It is a slap in the face to the previous writers
i mean if they wanted to do the whole one who tries again and genesis survivor are seprate felt like could been handled better
Yeah
feels like right now the one who tries again is just going right to arat and legacy of santiago while gen survivor stopped elements backup plan but then what becomes of them?
are they gonna have us canonically be one while other is an npc in ark 2? both maybe? is mystery tbh
On LC we are the ext one right?
Mmm, genesis one should be dead, but they all seem to be immortal cause family
I really don't know
if they want the 2 to be seperate characters i'm fine with that just wish would be done better since it was never said if they same or not in ase and was a "up to individiual" deal
yes LC is one who tries again
see here's the thing the real wrinkle in all of this is the now odd gen 1/2 time
like all we know is LC takes place after gen 2 given the whole meeka and the reminains of genesis ships burning up in arat's atmo but we don't know how long
it'd prob be at least maybe a couple months to few years to give time for the settlers etc to settle in and start living
We know genesis is a bit after Ext, I think, someone from WC said so,
That or I'm gaslighting myself here
if they did would make no sense tbh
like if they wanna say LC and other stuff takes places 1k some years after etx that's fine but if LC takes place 1037-RS(reseed protocol) then only reason why is gen 2 must take place before it since again we know survivors are on arat and ship gone given debris
am fine with it being so late kinda cause it would give rockwell time to sieze control of the ship
a tiny bug here a tiny glitch there and just slowly infect things and by time anyone notices it's too late and he slowly infects and takes more and more control of the ship
before reseed
1000 BR helena story, till mei and diana go to arat
around reseed
0 we do the legacy maps
months after rockwell is on genesis
(i think from the genesis note, we can calc HLNA to be there for some years, before we start genesis)
some years after reseed we do genesis
1000 AR LC and ark2
so mei ying was lost queen for 2k years ☠️
1,000 BR (Helena's time)
0 AR (the original ARK trilogy and Genesis)
1,000 AR (the timeframe for both Lost Colony and ARK 2)
i guess the line "Rockwell ends up on the Genesis seed ships months after the Reseed Protocol happened on Earth" leaves enough wiggle room to let us head cannon when exactly he takes it over
but "Genesis happens very similarly in time to Extinction" doesn't help
honestly if LC takes place 1037 ARS then genesis at latest would take place 1036 ARS
i think they trying to say
0 is legacy maps
37 is gen
1037 is lc
it would be fine it it was just that
like i said if they wanted LC and gens to take place well after ext that part fine with it's the changing of stuff like the relationships and the whole diana being poofed out etc
yeah, completely removing diana and the super low note count is such a disapointement
was likely cause them voices be expensive as heck
feel like the massive mappa stuff mighta used up good bit of the $ tbh
like they coulda done thing where diana died part way through cause of lost king and woulda been something
yeah
if i keep staying around here i'll start getting piss off enought at this decision i'm just gonna start writing fanfic cause LC pissed me off
Prolly won’t since they rewritten the continuity of it as we seen in LC. I expect the same thing to happen in gen 1 with bob dlc along with genesis map remaster.
it'd still need to happen before LC cause we know LC is post gen 2 but the question is how soon, would it happen 1 year before 1037 or 10 or what?
LC lore is still bullshit, cuz it closer to animated series than in game lore
So I just tried the lost colony boss after being fed up with ark and just wanting to finish lost colony.
And I ran into countless bugs in the fight so couldn’t even get to the make part before falling through the floor. Does anyone have a good lore video they recommend for lost colony? That’s the only reason I was playing it anyone
Can somebody explain all of ark lore to me for no reason
I could try
But I would recommend needythenoodle video
I haven’t played lc
So I’ll try
The world of ark is a similar world to our there is only 2 big differences
Mhmm
Not the feds!!
Feds stand for Terrian federation
Oh ok
The second difference is that there was a meteorite that brought element
Basically the 2 factions did the element war to get all the element
Oh I thought that was just a mishap
The element war did a lot of damage to human
(The war ended because of a guy called Santiago created an element nuke basically hinosima 2.0)
Lol
But what humanity didn’t know was that element wasn’t just something that can do anything
In reality it was a hive mind
So that bomb probably didn't help
(Pretty much like terraria evil biome)
Yep
The human were so weaken they couldn’t beat it
To try and save humanity both had different plan
1 plan was to create the arks
Basically run away
That plan was hoping on the fact that the corruption would die on its own
The second plan was the Genesis ship
Both failed
Its goal was trying to find another planet
Actually no
Eventually at least
We made them work
Oh
By killing king titan we let the ark
The plan of both was to clone every thing after it worked
So why dinosaurs?
Why wouldn't current animals work?
If where reviving every species alive why not revive every animal ever
Fair enough
Mhmm
Who later became the one who waits
Wdym
The girl you see at the start of the game
Oh ok
So she got cloned in the island ark
