Man I love ark lore
Indeed
the arks fell to the earth, you mean the ship was there at that time?
No, i mean when the arks went into space, so did the ship
They left around the same time
okay, my question is after they landed
Ok, so the purpose of the ship was to find a habitable world in case the ark’s failed
They had no clue earth was brought back, they just kept going searching for a new world
exactly, why do we get in the ship?
Rockwell
Rockwell wants to take over the entire universe, and someones gotta stop him
However, atleast as of now, its up to you if its the survivor from the Arks and Extinction, or a new survivor from the Colony ship
saving earth wasnt enough, I see... guy cant even find a planet for himself
Why take over one when you can take em’ all
He wants to be the very best
Like no one ever was
gotta pod them all
Here's what I think, earth was some what saved from the corruption, and rather than rockwell spreading the infection there, why not spread the infection to other planets? So when abb fell, he transfered himself to the ship which overtime corrupted the ship and to follow Helenas path, I'm not too knowledgeable on Helenas path, but that's what I think tho.
Are Reapers from earth ?
No
Hi
Look for Neddy the noodle on YouTube, he has the who story in a Machinima form, it's amazing work
what was santiago eating at his famous lunch break on extinction?
Like the one before he made his breakthrough?

So how does the time travel thing go w lore
It doesn't
It does now.
The watch* causes a glitch in the Ark's were the Overseer, deletes your character and recreates it a few moments before the glitch happend.
See dms sent vid
Since when BTT became canon so it could go with lore?)
Yo nerd
What time travel?
Remember when the Ark got mad that people could fly in the aberration Ark ?
Now we got airships.
BTT2 new feature... whatever it was anyway
Jeremy confirmed in a tweet that BTT is canon-ish.
Bruhhh, hell no
Check DMs
Bob Tall tales isnt canon, whats canon is that Bob is telling the story, so the only thing canon about Bob Tales is that Bob is telling the story to the girl in Arat, but not the actual story
Jeremy never specified if the items/creatures are or not.
Just looked it up, he rly said that Bob's stories are kinda canon, only he exaggerates them a bit. But nothing said about creatures and all this stuff being canon.
Yerp.
So still in the air if it's canon.
But seeing how they made Bob, a Animated Series character canon to ARK-2. Kind of seems like they don't really fully care about the world building, and they'll add anything like time travel because it's cool. (that's assuming it's time travel. And not just a compass that turns you towards a direction instantly.)
Dk, putting Bob's character in the story is not a bad idea, it would have happened at some point. (TAS is a mess, no one will deny that lmao)
But like yeah, time travelling is a wtf, and idk how would it work in the game.
Mkay, at that point, I fully understand why Santiago blew up Aberration...
I wouldnt even bother saying an item/creature is or not canon, endless debate.
"Well is clearly not canon cuz why didnt they use Dread against titan, well it is canon because it is in the map" Like endless debate as i say, i would consider items as canon tbh, no reason why i woulndt create a train on SE.
So... does that mean they should change the notes then? The notes. The very thing on what Ark is floating.
Be like: Well, yeah, there was some wyverns, angry tribes, mysterious wyvern rider... And da cowboys, and trains with shooting and robbery, and giant flying crab-
When have I written that?
I just said I wouldn’t bother complaining about the canon of the playable side of bob tall tales.
That I myself, consider them canons, but some others don’t because the loopholes the new stuff comes with.
Can anyone explain lorewise why Cosmo is so cute?
Following your logic, I can consider TAS canon, just bc I can.
BTT is a cosmetic DLC that has nothing to do with "canon". Only thing that you can count, is what we - aka Bob, know about what happened.
poobus
Yes

Abb is a myth
It is
More mythological than the drakes that supposedly inhabit the place full of psychedelics, everyone's just high.
TAS was confirmed to not be canon, so you would be entering in headcanon area.
The stuff inside BTT hasnt been stated to wether or not be canon, so its up to any1 liking.
Not that hard to understand
Aberrant dodo
do all these community voted creatures fit into the lore anyway?
We don't know. Since nothing official has been stated.
I… am Bob
how can i fix the currpted file error at the end of update
Just finished the update and now it says he updatetime is more than 1 year anyone know how to solve the problem??
lol
Go to steam and verify the integrity of your game files and see if that helps
Is meeka Santiago's daughter
Wait a sec I swear Meeka was the name of that gen2 survivor (I was watching Ned’s full ark storyline lastnight)
That was Nida
so with bobs tall tales are we playing as bob in his story?
From what I understand Bob is around the arks the same time Helena is. At least from what he states in the aberration intro I would assume so
He isn't
Jeremy confirmed the tales he tells are made up
He more then likely heard the tale of The Survivor (us) and glorified it to seem more whimsical and outlandish, and self-inserted himself into the tales..
Just wait until bob here’s about us killing baby dinos
😈

what was aberrations guardian before rockwell i would also like to see what it looked like before santiago and them messed it up
I would assume it would be a normal overseer
No like the other boss
Nothing stated I believe.
The guardians lie how island guardians are dragon monkey spider scorched manticore
I get it’s Rockwell now but it wonder what it was before everything went south
It’s unkown I believe
Even the SE is supposed to have 2 more guardians, but we know nothing more about em.
Like Mediocris said, its unknown. Could be stuff like the Island bosses, or could be something completely different. We are never given any info to know as nobody ever faced the original guardians
Anyone got a link to the lore of Rockwell? I actually find myself interested in him now I know he’s aberrations boss
yo
Can google it chief; he’s my fave character in the game, and it hurt me to see his character development handled the way it was in the animated series
But he’s got loads of lore throughout the entire story; I can’t do it justice with a tl:dr here haha
Rockwell's journey began when he found himself on a mysterious island, where he took it upon himself to mediate between the various tribes and establish order. It was there he met Helena, who would later become both a friend and rival. Rockwell, initially on vacation, became obsessed with the island's ancient artifacts after discovering their power. Driven by this obsession, he manipulated Nerva into believing that the towering obelisks were weapons.
However, tension grew when Rockwell learned that Helena had been conducting research without informing him. Paranoia set in, and Rockwell began to believe that Helena was attempting to steal his work. In the Overseer’s Arena, his fascination deepened as he became fixated on the strange materials within.
Eventually, Rockwell traveled to Scorched Earth, where he stole artifacts from a tribe that worshiped the obelisks. After being captured by another tribe, he revealed the secrets of the obelisks to them. In an epic battle alongside the tribe, they managed to defeat the Manticore. Yet, as soon as they claimed their prize—Element—Rockwell’s obsession drove him to murder the entire tribe, seizing the Element for himself.
Reuniting with Helena, they fled to Aberration at Rockwell's insistence after he glimpsed the molten Element there. His obsession grew uncontrollable. Rockwell and Helena eventually encountered a Tek tribe, where his curiosity for their advanced technology took hold. He persuaded a survivor named Diana to help him acquire more Element, and when Helena and the others were away, Rockwell injected himself with the substance.
The transformation was monstrous. Rockwell became the Aberration boss, a twisted being consumed by Element. In his rampage, he nearly obliterated the Tek tribe, but with the combined efforts of Helena and Mei Yin, they managed to cast him into a pit, where he was believed to be sealed.
Years later, after the King Titan was defeated, Rockwell managed to beam his consciousness onto the Genesis ship. There, he began corrupting an entire ring of the ship and its simulation, seeking complete control. The survivor confronted him within the simulation, defeating him once more. However, as you and hlna awoke aboard the ship, they discovered that Rockwell wasn’t finished. In a final confrontation, you stopped him again. Hlna blows herself and Rockwell up.
Kinda lengthy and might be inaccurate (I summarized it and asked gpt to make it sound better in terms of grammar and stuff and to make it sound better)
It’s just better to watch a video
What if there is a dude on the maps that is just a regular dude but everytime he dies the ark just uses another clone. He could be legendary in tales but just perfectly normal
Does all the new stuff really add to the lore we have so far? I heard many people say this isn't ark anymore.
I’m pretty sure that’s who bob is in btts
Bob's glitch turned him into a legend. Helena had to patch it so everyone got it
Thats, like not at all how that worked
Respawning wasn’t a thing period before Helena made it so, and that was long after Bob’s time
And that’s calling Bob’s Tall Tales canon, cause they are only loosely so as it’s him creating stories about the ARK’s to tell Meeka
bob: "i made stuff up"
It's a nice summary
you had cowboys in se lore. Dahkeya was a wild west outlaw
Bit new to the lore. Did Aberration have a guardian/boss before rockwell mutated?
it had an overseer, yes. the Tek Tribe took a nuke into the boss room and blew it up
thats why the Aberrant Ark is broken, its heavily damaged and it has no overseeing AI
I don’t know if rockwell being an overseer now is an upgrade or not
Probably yes
Was there ever explained in the lore why only reaper kings spawn on the surface and no queens or is it due to the fact that the overseer of that ark wanted ro have only the stongest reaper kin on the surface
Because of gameplay purposes.
I don’t know because I don’t think they were there previously
Otherwise Diana would’ve mentioned them or something idk
Technically doesn't reaper king also spawn when you don't take care of nameless?
I don't remember kings being mentioned abywhere so I don't think it's linked to lore
Yeah ot does
Man I love lore

@scenic root #bobs-with-probs
Is there any lore explanation on why I can drink sea water.
monkey see monkey do
Either the humans and animals have been genetically modified to be able to drink it, or some sea creatures were modified to live in fresh water. I prefer the latter explanation.
That still wouldn't explain how we can drink unfiltered nasty ass fresh water.
And the fact no one mentions it in the notes, when they talk about all of the other abnormalities on the ARK's kind of makes me think it's just a gameplay thing, because early Wildcard probably didn't want to spend time making a boiling system for water.
You can still drink very unclean freshwater. It's going to give you problems but it'll still hydrate you to an extent.
You're likely right that they didn't think about it much, if at all, but is half this channel not speculating on details that aren't intentional?
Depends on how much is living in it.
Diseases do exist, and they are a huge issue with fresh water sources in the real world.
Dysentery is...umm...not fun.
Maybe the survivor has a better immune system. If I recall correctly Helena mentions the carnivores having diets that should make them susceptible to disease, yet they face no issues. We only get rabies and swamp fever, and I don't recall much else being mentioned in the notes.
Obviously, all this is speculation.
Oh no, I'm not saying the survivors don't have jacked immune systems. They 100% do.
But I just fail to imagine that they can survive off of an ocean of fresh water, that has a fuck ton of life in it, that shits in it constantly.
The ocean, even with all of its storms is considered still.
Compared to a river that's constantly flowing and can more-or-less get rid of any issues like feces or diseases, since it'll rinse them all away. Unless something happens to the source of the river.
Oh, and a lot of rapidly decomposing animals due to how horrible the ARK's oceans are.
Though The Island also has pretty weird ass rivers, from what I understand. And don't make sense in any way because they don't actually flow, and their sources are from....the ocean.
And it's hard to tell if that's intentional, or Wildcard is just too lazy to Google how real rivers work and just said 'fuck it, funny water line goes BRRR'
You'd hope somebody there did take a geography class at some point, but it certainly didn't make it's way to the game. The rivers look like thinner, shallower ocean most of the time. There are a couple of sources of rivers that aren't the ocean which is something at least.
Okay, good. So I'm not the only one to notice this?
Like, they literally loop around into the ocean.
What is their point then?
And why don't they just come from the mountains that are REALLY prominent on the map?
I wish there was some waterfalls on the mountains, not just for consistency but also because it would look spectacular.
And for more pratical base locations near water sources.
I suppose you could claim that the designers of the ark didn't need to follow real geography, but surely it takes more effort to build a dome that defies it?
No more pipes down the side of the volcano. That would be the dream.
And also they're landmasses ripped from the planet itself. So....how the fuck did that work on Earth before hand?
True, they'd have had to change it, which is utterly pointless. My explanation falls apart quite quickly.
Welcome to ARK lore.
Where on the surface it's badass. But the more you overthink about it, the more the world building has holes that're never explained, and the community has to cope and make up explanations to explain these holes that the devs should've thought of if they wanted people to take this world seriously.

I suppose that's what anyone who frequents this channel signed up for.
Yerp.
I can't recall if the river issue was solved in Gen2, or if that shit still exists.
I think it's a little better.
'IF' ARK-2 ever releases (even though I have no interest in playing it) I will fucking laugh my ass off if they still have this issue in it.
Because, unlike ARK-1 where you can cope and explain away their shit with space magic (Element)
ARK-2 is set on an actual fucking PLANET that (seemingly) has evolved normally. So if it's still geographically fucked, that's just Wildcard being lazy.
From what I recall of the Rockwell zone, most of the water originated from beyond the northern world border and flows down from there. I'm not sure how rivers should flow in a ring with gravity, but its better than the island.
They won't even give us an excuse, we'll have to fabricate one for them.
Ironically enough, fucking Skyrim got rivers right.
Fuck, just Googling "how do rivers work" gives you a diagram of it going from 'mountain' to 'ocean.'
Even if a Google search is too much, you could probably guess that water flows down hill.
Aren't most of the rivers on The Island on flat land?
Doesn't a river need at least a 'slight' tilt to...you know...'FLOW'
I'm useless at geography but even I can know that much.
Realistically they knew their rivers were inaccurate, but it was just easier to design.
I really want someone to make a geographically accurate version of The Island, while still keeping its artificial charm.
Because there's 100% a way to keep that balance between it feeling and looking believable, with the obvious abnormalities of the biome placements.
I would be very interested to see that if it were ever created.
Mr cringwell it’s been a very long time since I was last in here
But if wildcard is still planning on adding that buffer cannon map between ext and gen1 do you think it could be based at the docking station or where would it fit in the story?
I know everything else about the story, unless it’s been retconned since gen 2 but I’m really hoping they don’t retcon anything with the new map
They never confirmed when it's taking place.
The surprise is between Extinction and Gen1, but it's best to keep expectations low until it's confirmed what it is.
there were plans for that?
Just hit up '??? #6' on Aberration where post-ascension Helena names hereself. Still gives me chills.
So the survior we play thru all the ARKS is different from gen1 and 2 right. After the arks came to earth to purge and clean that was the end of that character. And in gen 1 and 2 you are a colonist(one in simulation) and (when the colonist wakes up) to defeat rockwell
After Gen 2 when you are floating in space and HLNA's last msg tells u to rebuild a world and the line "maybe two lost souls can meet again" is said. it could mean that the survivor on earth that helped fix the planet and defeated rockwell the first time and the colonist that defeated rockwell the second time(both played by the player) could “meet”. Scratching ARK 2 out the picture. Two souls lost finding each other would also be cool in the sense if we got 2 maps one explaining how the survivor on Earth made it to Arat and the other map being how the colonist survivor who defeated Rockwell in space landed on Arat and is getting familiar with the environment(this map actually being Arat) with The end scene showing how we see our other character come into orbit (if we are playing the colonist) or see the world the colonist has built on Arat( if we are playing the survivor from earth)
If thats not the case and the “colonist” that defeated rockwell for the second time is actually the survivor from Earth it would be cool for a map to explain how we ended up on the ship for the genesis simulation from earth. A prequel to Genesis 1 and a direct sequel to Extinction
Your choice I think
you could be the same, you could also be a new survivor
Doesnt your survivor get uploaded to gen2 ship at the end of exe abd then put by the ship into the gen 1 simulation
Not specifically, it has never been stated to either situation. Basically, it’s left to the player to decide if they are a new survivor, or the old one brought over
My personal belief is that the specimen implant is a bit like a cloud storage service where your engramatic matrices and self could concurrently be multiple places at once, with the system fine-tuning what each body/conduit retains upon reanimation.
There's always the off-chance that our actual original meat-body has been on the genesis seed ship this entire time, with our engramatic consciousness uploaded back to the original host body upon removal of the specimen implant with extinction's alpha ascension cutscene, since canonically the survivor in Gen-1 & 2 doesn't/shouldn't have one.
At the end of the day, it's so up-in-the-air that any one opinion could be feasible with a mild amount of extrapolation, so long as it doesn't veer into the territory of "absolutely not!" levels of logic. But it should be noted that while I'm not sure it's ever stated if there were multiple santiago-entities active at one time, whatever was recreating his gene-seed was actively snipping and slicing bits and pieces of previous iterations' prior knowledge and information, while allowing him to keep other tidbits.
It literally confirms in canon what it does.
If they give us another canonical map I think it should be set to the other side of the world, ik we fixed the element problem in extinction but I never felt fulfilled with the choose what’s next, your survivor stayed on earth or you woke up in the simulation, never really liked it. I think since at the end of extinction we hear Rockwell we should get almost every creature as the return protocol is in place but we follow Rockwell to the other side of the earth that’s icy and we see how the element effected the wildlife on the other side and the boss fight should include us against Rockwell trying to prevent him from getting onto the ship, a boss fight that no matter what really we lose and we follow him and then end up in the simulation. I feel that makes more sense, at least satisfies me. They can even have it set up in a way that we fight multiple bosses of where Rockwell has left a piece of himself showing he’s learning to grow like on the ship. What do y’all think?
I'm not sure I thought it wasn't a instant thing getting rid of ele I thought it was a slow process
I don’t think it was instant but just basing off the quick fade it does in the cinamatic at the end of extinction
Okay I found it
“Canonical expansion: A new DLC that will be part of the ARK story and will include four new creatures. This DLC is expected to be released in the fourth quarter of 2023”
Now obviously it isn’t coming in 2023 but I really hope they don’t mess up the story
So there's 100s if not thousands of ARK stations surrounding earth and no 2 are the same
And we have nonstory maps which means that they are canon to the Ark Lore but not our Survivor story
Does this also mean that every mod is also canon?
Since no 2 are built the same and are design to make different challenges for survivors
This would mean that technically everything is canon
Correct?
I feel like if the new dlc instantly takes place after extinction part of the map could be "decaying" because the element is slowly dying
-Still debated if every ARK is unique, or based off a model type.
-Wildcard has stated multiple times that the custom-maps are non-canon.
not really canon, just not necessarily lore breaking
it's possible for there to be an ark like the center or fjordur, but theyre not included in the story itself
i would say every ark is unique though, we get a look at 2 story ones that are in working order and are vastly different from each other
plus the idea behind the arks was to test a wide variety of variables: environments, creatures, etc. that was the reason extinct creatures and even mythical creatures were added
Bob has a girlfriend in TAS. (or a wife, wasn't clear)
So he's either straight, or bi.
gay is possible because he's from the 40s, and back then a lot of gay/bi men would have hidden it because the past was awful, but there's no evidence to suggest he was one way or the other
Wouldn't the fact that he seems to have a girlfriend in the Dear Jane notes lean more towards him being straight or bi?
thats what i mean, it's likely because he's from the 40s he would have gone through the motions to appear 'normal'
but again, no evidence for either gay or bi, so i'm comfortable assuming straight
I kind of doubt he would be constantly looking for Jane and leaving notes behind if he was forced into a relationship to appear "normal."
which is why i say theres no evidence for it
just saying the small possibility is there, but the possibility is negligible
That's kinda what I ment
Not all of them relate to the story
But it doesn't mean they don't exist
Is the show cannon? I find it odd that Nerva has not even made it to the Dragon or gotten a interest in the Obelisks while the broodmother got murked by Mei Yin and Helena, even though that never was mentioned in the dossier it was the Megapithecus and with the aid of a dino army
Thanks!
Got it, yeah it didnt make sense at all as a lore nerd for Ark, that makes a lot more sense thanks!
they said it's basically an AU. like Star Wars disney canon vs Legends
Think tuck ment it's like rust every station is unique or changed in someway
In rust every map is unique just changed in some way its not a exact same thing but maybe some arks are flipped
technically legends isn't official, unless you mean disney legends which is just anything disney hasn't used yet
Rockwell be wildin
How come on extinction creatures the corruption is blue and not purple? Like on the snow owl and etc
Id assume that the corruption hasnt spread so far yet that they are in a eaely stage of corruption where it hasbt fully spread and grown
If I recall right, it's due to the differences of how Corruption/Element works.
The Extinction unique creatures (from what I recall) have evolved alongside Element. Forming more of a mutual and symbiotic relationship.
Corruption on the otherhand, as the name suggests. Just Corrupts and warps anything it touches.
Because A: it was a convo someone else started that I just hopped onto.
And B: ARK's lore has like four gay characters. One of them being the protagonist herself.
It's hard to see due to the comment being deleted that I was responding to.
But I was actually stating Bob is more likely to be straight, due to it being confirmed he has a girlfriend.
It was the other person that was stating that he might've been gay. But even they admitted there's no evidence of this.
Do yk how the corruption was even made? Like did someone make it or was it just thekr
It's from Element.
Of how it was formed from Element, we don't know any hard confirmation. Only theories.
Most popular and likely theory, and that Corruption is the end mature phase of Element. And when Element pollutes a planet enough, it'll mature into Corruption.
Ohhh I see
Do you think element is edible?
Can survivors eat it instead of normal food
It was the best health regeneration item for custom recipes back in ASE. So probably
is it crunchy?
What would be the mrbeast equivalent in ark lore
how did the Survivor Went up from Extincion ( Earth ) to the Colony Ship?
Maybe they did maybe they didn’t your choice really
But if you think they’re the same survivor you could assume they went on the hyperlink thingy? on arat prime then transferred to the Genesis ship
I mean from my Understanding it could be that the Genesis Survivor is Santiago so at the Beginning of Genesis we play a Different Survivor
The Genesis Survivor being Santiago doesn’t make a ton of sense, but yeah the choice (atleast for now, depending on the new canon dlc) is yours if its the same or not
Either the survivor from the ARK’s stayed on Earth, or followed Rockwell to the Colony Ship to stop him
Lore eh? All the characters survived, they LIVED! Through all of arks devices. They didn't die.
We die in ark all the time and are given the option to respawn. That's lore breaking for me.
Bring the hardcore servers on. Ark as it should be.
Its not technically lore breaking, atleast on the ARK’s.
After the survivors in the story reached Extinction, shenanigans happened which ended up in respawning becoming a thing
It's more immersive though. Uploading characters is an in game safety feature. Respawning makes it all seem pointless and dying is used to the players advantage, leading aggro away, reseting food and water etc
for sure, but you also have to think realistically how that would affect someone. Going through a traumatic death, only to wake up again in the same world, surrounded by the same dinosaurs. Die enough, and you'd either lose all emotion or go insane
our use of the respawn system is obviously a little more gameplay focused, but the reality of respawing would be horrific
Me go insane? Nah
Getting another chance is amazing
and you seem to keep the length of your hair and stuff so we can assume you can keep your age and stuff that your current clone body has
The only part that would worry me is me being in my 70s-80s and still respawning
The survivors arent trapped woth dinosaur or robots the robots and dinosaur are trappep in there with the survivors who will most likely rose to be the deadliest alpha predator
Also human trophys would be nice
Yeah have you seen rezero?
No spoilers but the mc has the power to go back to the previous "checkpoint" whenever he dies I would 100% go insane if I could respawn/return by death
There's just no urgency or fear for me. Oh it's an alpha raptor. Let me just die over and over until I get my bag back no worries.
But hardcore mode. Oh fuck factor comes in. Heart rate rises at the sight of it. Guess I'm not going that way today. Creating in game lore personal to the player.
Instead of the dead Stare a character would get I he could just respawn. I feel like every survivor just looks like a titan from aot running around care free. When the game should have a fear of losing everything on death. Its a survival game. Core should be a mode. And hardcore should be the default. Core servers would be POPPING with all the coward scum that raid bases for no reason.
And to that point, you’re looking at the gameplay aspect. It would certainly make things harder if it was hardcore, but with how buggy this game is that’d be the worst experience in the world
Actually I have not yet, have it on my list to watch though
Season 3 episode 1 airs tomorrow I'm so excited (or going to be depressed idk we will see)
Death is still important as a setback even if you respawn
For one thing, if you die you leave all your good gear behind. How are you gonna get it back now? Your good shotgun is over there, and whatever killed you is eating your corpse. Shotgun sure would be handy to deal with this problem
In lore sense, death still is a big ouchy and probably extremely unpleasant.
Plus, you respawn but your beloved Baryonyx, Smiley, doesn't. And he's trapped over there too. You've gotta save Smiley!
I would say more then probably, death normally doesn’t feel pleasant
I cant think of a single death, outside of maybe implant suicide that wouldn’t be horribly painful
Skye aberration moment
Even thats debatable, depends on if you pass out during the fall/die on impact
- isnt the entrances we are falling down from se ascension the one in red area so that no matter even if we would survive the fall somehow getting molten skin by radiation and co
Yeah, we probably die and respawn at the determined area the player chooses.
Even if it was the other two entrances, we'd probably would splatter of how far we fell.
Yeah but who knows maybe we somehow survive the forst fall via ark magic
Yeah the fall itself is odd but not completely illogical, basing off the island ascension… but location of where we land is mildly deadly
Yeah
Im wondering is the domes in extinction just unfinished arks?
They're proto-ARK's
Is it just me or has the genesis story left people with unfinished questions?
and why did Helena create HLN-A instead of traveling through the hyperlink herself and helping the survivor on the genesis ship because the arks on Earth have started to eradicate the remaining element from the the world, and why was it left open for Rockwell to go through and corrupt the entire frontal ring?
and did the homodeus Helena fall victim to the fate that the other homodeus fall pray too, wasting away as their mind stops working, only perfomring their primary tasks?
In the teaser trailer I think she said something like “I cannot follow because others need Me”
Helena is a Homo-Deus.
Which means she can't physically interact with the physical universe anymore when she isn't in an Overseer. (which, she doesn't have one.)
So she had to make HLN-A to basically act as an extension to herself that 'can' help the Survivor in the physical world.
Also, if I recall right. It was due to Mei and Diana leaving it open.
As for Helena slowly decaying, yes. Every Homo-Deus will decay over time.
From what I recall, one of the biggest signs is the slow decay of their mind and emotions. Only focusing on their primary directive (as you stated)
We can slightly see this in the Extinction cutscene, as Helena is significantly less bubbly compared to her note and TAS counterpart, and more toned down.
She's the youngest and last Homo-Deus, so in theory, she will be the last to completely lose herself, and the last to exist.
Was it ever explained why tek dinos existed with exe
Are engrams canon? I remember having a discussion/argument about it in this channel, though nobody ever got to a conclusion about it. I’m personally on the side of it being added for gameplay purposes, but can I have a real answer?
They're never mentioned specifically, but the engramic matrix is canon.
Engrams IRL are hypothetical of the "physical processes and changes that constitute memory in the brain"
Alrighty. Thanks for clarification
Seeing as how we can see the ARKS in the background of the main menu in ASA; has anyone made an estimate to how many circle the earth?
Few hundred more then likely.
Eyeballing it, it doesn't look like thousands. So I'd take a hard guess and say mid-100s.
Wait how did the corruption on extinction even start? Like the purple and black stuff on the dinos and all over the map?
The Tek-War
Is that like all the usage of element made the corruption?
Tek-War was a planetary-wide war between the U.R.E and Terran Federation.
No known confirmed timeline, but theorized to had lasted around possibly a century.
And yeah, they used so much Tek-based weaponary that it started polluting the planet rapidly with more Element.
Thing is, it's technically unconfirmed of the 'why' the polluted Element transformed into Corruption.
Though the more likely theory that has backing is that Corruption is just the mature version of Element.
I see thsnk you so much
Century is wrong
We were given dates in Gen 2
iirc, it lasted a couple decades
That would actually make more sense
Santiago's ext note is wrong, he just got the part where he made the super tek nuke 50000000 cut out of his brain
realistically, with the gen 2 context in hand, it is actually plausible that santiago is only stuck with the memories of his early weaponry
and not the interdimensional horrors he probably went on to make later
for example, one thing he brings up in gen 2 is the tek rifle
he totally doesnt know about all the other stuff he made
a bunch of tek rifles arent doing jack to the planet
bring in the countrykiller 5000 mark II, and then maybe his memory will get a jog
True
Wasn't New Zealand leveled by bombing?
Man.
Poor Australia 2.0.
Wait new Zealand doesn't exist in the ark universe
It does, but it got leveled.
So....I guess not anymore?
But technically, no nation does by the time the game is set.
Well same thing happened in halo but it was only Sydney Australia as a warning so I mean new Zealand got vaporized or just bombed like ww2
Wait, when did Sydney get K.O'ed out of existance in the Halo universe?
Cortana did in halo 5
I know like, 20% of Africa was glassed from the early stages of the Sword of Sanghelios due to the Flood outbreak.
Oh fuck, goes to show how much I fucking hated that games story.
Yeah earth in halo has had a terrible last few years it seems
Yeah, but hopefully it can heal over time.
Did you see 343 rebranded to Halo Studios?
Idk Bob the builder can't fix the fuck up that was halo 5
That's where it seems like the new team is saying 'fuck it' and rebooting the series.
Which....yeah, after what Halo 5 did. Is kind of needed.
Can we just ignore that Cortana just almost sent the galaxy back to the stone ages essentially because the guardians can emp the technology that makes space travel possible
Because halo infinite forgets abt all of it and proceeds to kill all of halo 5s cast besides the og Characters
Oh, and basically fucked over the Brute race.
The one race that, ironically, (outside of jackals) had the most potential to be allies with humans if things went down differently.
Idk brutes just liked to kill ppl where as the elites were mostly a peaceful race all things considered but brutes but the banish have all races in their ranks and humans could join as long as they believe in the cause so it would be cool to see human enemies in the mix
Hang on, we should take this in general.
It is clearly stated as "non story" and "not canon" full stop, it is not that deep
So I was thinking, if Santiago respawned in the end of gen2, did helena respawn too?
or no because of that homodeus thing? I always get confused with arks story when they get to extinction
There could certainly be a version of Helena, but she would not have the memories she gained from the ARK’s
Basically day 1 beach bob Helena mk.2
ohh I see, would be cool to see bob helena hahah
Although i do like the idea of a new character roster for Ark 2, having her recreate the dossiers would be kinda fun
yeahh
Nah, fuck that.
I would rather have a new person doing it.
That is very fair, and I would equally enjoy that. Overall, the concept of a new roster of characters would be far better than sticking to the same crew again. Obviously we are forced to keep Santiago, but I do hope the others can finally rest
the santiago that respawned on the genesis ship was not the santiago that was on the arks.
ark santiago was on aberration/extinction. genesis santiago was "always" there. the second one is the one that respawned on the ship
but I want to meet helena 😂
just beat extinction, boom you met Helena
no, thats not helena
by the time you meet her, she's not really helena anymore. doesn't she even say that?
would agree with you there, if it wasnt for the extinction prologue which entails she still is Helena
They kind of got rid of that concept with the new prologues.
doesn't she say used to be? or am I wrong. haven't watched it in a while.
That's in the notes.
But in the prologues, she talks to the Survivor (herself, because we don't talk) and self-therapies herself at the end of the cutscene to realize she's still herself.
"I may be The One Who Waits. But I'm still Helena too"
Literally contradicts herself in the prologue.
thats during extinction.
not the prologue
And?
That's the Extinction's prologue
I'm rewatching it right now.
It's the cutscene you get when you start a new character on Extinction.
extinction's progression is when she goes back. just like before the prologues.
in that prologue she was changing how she thought of herself.
That's all semantics.
The point is, during the events of Extinction, the new lore flat out states that she still thinks of herself as Helena.
so did the old ending.
Old ending?
doesn't she say it in the ascension?
No, because Extinction doesn't have an epilogue.
She just talks about how the ARK's are coming home, and that they'll get rid of the Corruption before she fades out of existance as soon as she's able to see a sunrise again.
the ascension is the epilogue
rockwell laughing is too
That's just an ending.
The epilogues would be the cutscenes of Helena talking to the Survivor post-ascension cutscene.
I'd argue Rockwell is the only epilogue that Extinction has so far.
probably won't get one unless its about the new DLC
maybe we'll see one but if its not it'll just be to send you to the simulation.
We're 100% getting a BTT ones.
Which, just like they currently do, breaks the fucking pace of the story.
bob's takes place after the story of course it does lol
bob's isn't Helenas story. its stories bob is telling meeka
most likely not true in any way as well lol
What does that have to do with getting a new epilogue?
you are the one mentioning it
Yeah, because they'll include a new epilogue to them like they've done with Scorched and Aberration.
We kind of switched topics here from Helena, to talking about epilogues.
yeah? why wouldn't it? not sure what you mean. it breaks the pace of the story because its a different story.
can i take a moment to adress the fact that the free dlc arks have NOTHING to do with the story?
i would just enjoy some lore for each one
it would make sense and would tie them into the game a bit further, including maybe an explanation for fjordurs runes, and the other dimensions should be explained a bit
like, are they on another ark, are they just shifting the ark or is it a bit of a genesis pt 1 story?
Free dlcs are community made, modders don't always want to add lore to their maps
Yeah most were mod maps before becoming offical maps
They've been confirmed to be non-canon, so they don't even exist in the universe.
doesn't really matter if they exist or not, the main cast didn't go to them so they don't effect anything
true
Just let ppl have their head canons ppl get to deep in this shit
No.
Your the embodiment of the nerd emoji but love all the same

i know the entire ase lore front to back, i went into asa and there instantly was a new explorer note i’ve never seen before, is there a branching storyline or a new story all together?
stop playing right after because my xbox couldn’t run it tho lol
The only new notes are the BTT ones, which aren't canon, and the dossiers for the new ASA creatures that never got one in ASE.
makes sense
jane notes as well.
Oh shit, totally forgor those.
Those are canon to TAS if I recall.
and the BTT ones just take place after ark. its after genesis happened. if its "canon" or not depends on how ark 2 progresses.
the stories themselves are probably just bob telling stories to meeka but they never said if them being said was true or not.
The BTT notes are part of Bob's tale, which Jeremy has confirmed to not be canon in his one tweet.
The likely theory I'm going with until proven otherwise, is that he heard about The Survivors and Helena's journey through the ARK's, and decided to hybridize the two and self-insert himself to tell Meeka to entertain her.
he says that the stories aren't but bob and meeka are canon. that is what I just said
I don't look at twitter so never checked. but that is what I always assumed lol. they are called tall tales 😂
Right, as I went with in my theory.
His existance in ARK-2 is 100% canon, but the stories he's telling are tall tales.
so yeah, the stories aren't canon but him telling meeka them are. which means they technically are canon lol.
they just take place after
Wait ark has lore?
I really want to start keeping track of how many times that exact phrase has been said
Fr ^ yeah it has had lore for the last 8 years
Ever since the start of Ark
No it didn't start with lore it only had an idea
Talking about ark mobile?
It always had world building via the obelisks and implants, but wasn't till 2017 that actual understandable lore was added via the notes.
Ik that, but it’s still has had a concept of lore contained though like you say it wasn’t yet understandable
What I'm saying I'd before 2017 they only planted ideas of the lore it wasn't planned out from day 1 tho they more so had an idea of a setting and then made and expanded upon the ideas that were laid out on the island
notes were added in 2016
Ah, fuck. You're right.
Think I'm thinking of the rewrite, because I swear to fuck, there was an older version of the lore before 2017.
you are probably just thinking of the full release
thought the "rewrites" were extinction to genesis
"During the development process Helena's name might have once been Elimisha and Nerva's name might have once been Gellia according to the DevKit."
Think that might've been what I was thinking of.
Used to watch a lot of DevKit videos back then, because they always used to put things in the DevKit weeks before the update.
There’s lore?
No, we just pretend there is so the mods give us a channel to ourselves.
No we are all hallucinating together
but u can join us if u want 😉
i mean there are some great videos on YT by some guy called Neddy The Noodle that go on a deep dive into the lore with cinematics made in game...... now where have i seen that name before?
Joins the group delusion. ;P
hello
Someone give me random lore abt the titans
the main titans in the game aside from the king titan are generals in the lore their are hundreds of titans its just the ones in game are the king titans right hand men
Big misconception is that people think they're corrupted animals.
They're not. They're the only creatures in-universe (so far) that're beings made of pure Corruption.
Oh thx
That's a bit curious. Makes me think that Ark 2 may feature further creatures made from corruption/element. Which, admittedly I'm not as keen on for Ark, but I love the narrative concept of creatures made from the in universe aether. (I operate under the idea that Ark is a Grim dark futuristically aesthetic aetherpunk setting. Element is essentially the aether of the Ark universe.)
Eh, unless they retcon some shit that kind of can't be possible.
It can't be possible on Earth, but there's a big galaxy out there.
The corruption came from somewhere to begin with.
Unless I missed a detail, completely possible.
From what I recall, Titans require a high-amount of Corruption on the planet, basically the planet would HAVE to look like Extinction all over again.
Arat seems very lively, and while I think Element will 100% play a role again. I doubt Titan's that're made of Corruption will appear, since the planet isn't full of Corruption nodules and tidally locked.
I'm not specifying titans, that's something you're assuming. Smaller corruption based creatures may be able to live in areas without it, since you know, evolution is in the series name. Plus, again, there may be corruption out in the galaxy that is a separate problem, or creates a new one on earth post extinction. Maybe more localized.
Actually, it's only ARK that's in the IP's name. 🤓

Again, from what we understand with the Corruption, this is hard to do with Arat.
Let me break this down.
Corruption starts out as Element, and Element comes from meteors in space (the origins of these are unknown still)
The meteor crashes onto a planet, and takes a fuck load of time for the Element to spread.
This time is unknown, but the fact that Santiago confirms in Extinction that the rate of Elements growth on Earth was faster then predicted due to the Element-War (that lasted a few centuries mind you) it's safe to assume that without the usage of Element, that it would take even longer to spread.
As well, if it means anything and Wildcard actually put thought into it. Both of the Space cycles you get Element from show what seem to be mostly dead planets. Showcasing further that for Element to spread further, it usually kills the planet. (or these planets just never had life on them, we don't know)
To further this, we've seen no Corruption outside of Earth so far, only Element, the earlier stage of Corruption.
It's yet to be confirmed how/why Element goes from it's resource stage to Corruption, a more rampant stage, but it's assumed that the actions of the Element-War is at cause.
Now, I could see a Element-War 2.0 in ARK-2.
If it wasn't for the fact they confirmed no usable Tek in ARK-2.
No usable Tek means no Tek weapons that can exhaust Element, and in turn no Corruption.
Sorry for the long message.
TL;DR, I really, really, really, really doubt we'll see Corruption in ARK-2 unless they pull some fuckery shit.
Would be sick in ARK-2 allows us to experience a Tek-War 2.0.
But nay.
They had to say NO TEK!
yh
I gotta point out that this so full of conjecture.
You assume things that we don't know won't come into play a lot.
I ain't good with long messages, so please point them out.
You assume that the unknown thing that made element go from raw element to corruption can't be a factor again, but since we have no idea what it is they have the free rein to take the story in a direction that doesn't fit the current knowns.
When we understand the X factors it becomes impossible to write around that, but at the moment the X factors are unknown.
You're right.
But it took around three centuries of warfare on a planetary scale, basically a World War for Corruption to do anything.
And the moment Corruption started to appear, it wasn't long till humanity and all life on Earth was wiped out. It was quick, if I recall from the Genesis 2 notes.
And we kind have to run with what we got if we want to make theories, because that's what a theory is.
We know Element takes a long time to spread without interference.
We know that none of the planets the Genesis ship goes to have Corruption, and only still have Element.
And we know that something happened near the end of the Element-War for Corruption to start forming, causing both the URE and Terran Federation to form an alliance to form the NeoUN, and not long after they started to create the ARK's and Genesis ship due to how fast the Corruption was spreading.
These are the only factors we have so far to play with.
Though, with Jesse/Jeremy love to add random media/pop-culture references to the ARK lore, we can theorize with other products with similar stories of where they're going to take the direction of the universe.
Well, for all we know element can spread endlessly without issue, the X factor may be something else altogether. Without knowing the catalyst we can only speculate.
Omg imagine If it's kinda like the symbiote from spider man but it's just a eltrich God as the final boss of ark that's been slowly corrupting the galaxy over 1000s of years
Or maybe the true meaning is humans will always destroy no matter what era
What did Helena call the squid monsters again
You mean the FSBMM’s?
Ah, yes.
The shitty "humanity are the bad guys afterall" trope.
I like the idea of an eldrich God being the final boss of ark tbh
Same.
Don't think ARK's overarching story would fit the "humans bad" trope.
It can 100% fit into the "politics bad" trope, via the Element-war, as it was politics and unnecessary conflicts between two asses that caused the extinction of life on Earth.
I have a question if ark story form the island to extinction just a dream simulation,so its already present time before the story of ark 2 then?🤔 the thing is, is it our hardwork in the dream simulation paid off to activate the ark and the planet already terraformed?🤔 I am bit confused
They're not dreams
Don't know where you got the conclusion from.
well just confusion man, when in genesis HLN-A said a simulation remember, isnt simulation meant just doing things from the past when were sleep?🤔
just lore connection sorry
Simulation by definition just means a place that is faking/artificially acting as something it isn't.
sometimes simulation and dream almost the same a bit, just diffirent how it work, natural or even artificial😅
The ARK's are physical space-stations that do exist in the real world (ARK universe)
They're simulations, as in simulating a artificial environment that seems to be a real environment, via ARK's like The Island faking that it's an Island in the middle of the ocean, instead of what it is in reality. Which is a giant-ass station in space orbiting Earth.
Genesis-1 is the only actual Matrix-style simulation, that's set in a computer.
simulation in a sleeping tube?
Only Genesis-1 is, yes.
but I wonder how the heck rockwell get into the colony ship? I though he was dead in Ark aberration
Extinction is also the closest we have to the real world, outside of ARK-2.
The ARK's are all artificial environments, the Genesis-Simulation is what you said, a dream inside a pod, and the Genesis-ship still have artificial environments on it to host multiple species.
hmm fascinating🤔
He never died on Aberration, he can't.
He's an Overseer of the ARK now, which means he's infinitely being brough back each time you fight him.
Though, he's mortal again once the Aberration ARK crashes onto Earth.
As for how he got onto the ship? Aberration crashed right next to Arat Prime, and he just slithered his way over there and uploaded his consciousness, and started to reform a new body on the ship.
so wait rockwell use one of the infected humans as body?
No, he started to rewrite the ship on an atomic level to rewrite it from being metal, to flesh.
damn rockwell really a mess up in Ark,but wait if the story said rockwell not died from helena and her crew againts him,so he just hide in the Ark aberration, even though he control it,so the question is why he havent hmm like spread his corruption in other Arks?🤔or is it something blocking his plan?
and his goals only wanted more and more power from the story says
Aberration is more-or-less quarantined from the rest of The System. Though he does has slight influence still, as he's the one that brings us to the Aberration ARK in the first place.
Also, Helena and Mei-Yin never killed Rockwell, they just thought they did since the ground collapsed on itself due to his rapidly growing weight.
hmm I see but wait how helena and others lifes now sincd the ark already activated, how their lifes now?🤔since we never see them in the game ,only helena as holo being
'holo being' 💀
I dont know how to say it man😅
Homo-Deus.
Akin to our actual species name "Homo-Sapiens"
yeah so actually what happen to helena and the survived team after the ark finished🤔?
Helena/The One Who Waits is kind of slowly degrading.
As a Homo-Deus, you get all the cool perks of
-Isolation
-Basically Alzheimer's
-Less of your humanity and more robotic/objective thinking
-Being too fucking strong for this universe to withstand, so you're yeeted into your own personal void while all you can do is watch other people living out their lives.
So, not the greatest time for her, as eventually she will lose enough of her mental state that she'll no longer be Helena.
As for Mei-Yin/Diana? We don't know. The last thing we know is that they where heading to Arat-Prime, and presumably on the Genesis-ship.
If you've seen the end of Genesis-2, you know where Santiago/Vin Diesel is.
As for the rest of the note survivors?
They're all presumably dead.
Implants.
Survivors are vat-grown humans that are created with implants for the ARK's Overseer to track the survivor constantly, and to act as a universal translator.
A simulation is arguably an experiment usually.
Fair enough
It's a simulation via it being a artificial environment created to "simulate" a real one.
Matrix-wise though, the only simulation in that sense is Genesis-1
Ok
Its just bc we like appear on an island and there is dinos which are supposed to be extinct and dragons wyverns
Etc.
All artificial life the ARK's created.
No we fucking don't. 💀
We do
All we need is sum dna samples
From fossils then kaboom
Dinos.
It half ten for me rn lol
We don't have the technology to create literally new life that never existed, like wyverns or reapers.
Also, we can't get DNA from fossils, because they're fucking dead.
DNA can only last a few thousand years before it's completely gone, and dinosaurs have been dead for millions of years.
They're gone forever.
It would be a massive fucking struggle tru but we could do it eventually
Also, the ARK universe requires an alien resource that literally defies physics.
I meant dinos
Only
Dinosaurs have been dead for like 2.5 million years
What abt birds
Sorry, 65 million
They r dinos technically
Idk the science and shit but smth like that
They should add ark to vr
Sry my adhd kicking in
This saying comes from people who don't understand biology and evolution.
That's like saying our ancient shrew ancestor is a fucking monkey.
Yes, birds are the closest relatives to dinosaurs.
But that doesn't mean they're dinosaurs.
The closest we'll ever get to resurrecting dinosaurs would by creating pseudo-dinosaurs via chickens by reactivating old genes.
They'd have 'some' properties of a dinosaur, but they'll forever act, behave, and almost look like a chicken, and never be a full dinosaur. It'd be more like a chicken pretending to be a dinosaur.
There's also the issue of oxygen differences between 65 million years ago, and today.
Earth today would have a harder time to support dinosaurs like brachi's and bronto's, due to their larger size and a lower amount of oxygen levels today.
Smaller ones could possibly survive though.
💀
"This saying comes from people who don't understand biology and evolution."
Admittedly, that was a bit an ass move to say.
“Domesticated
If impregnated by a female Reaper, I strongly urge that the survivor kill the embryo via exposure to radiation. However, there are rumors that Reapers might imprint themselves on a survivor who possesses a Reaper pheromone gland. This has led some mad survivors with dreams of riding on the back of a Reaper to try seeing the gestation period through to the end, but that is extremely dangerous, not to mention disgusting.” - Helena
Is there anyone else in the lore who mentions taming a reaper? Or did Helena happen to be coincidentally correct?
Believe she was just coincidentally correct.
Boris (or whoever it was) one of the Grad-Students dies from birthing a reaper, and I believe the other students with them at the time killed it.
about those strange implants on the survivors and dinos, how those two organizations made them, seems like really hidden high end technology🤔?
by using future scifi stuff
like how they make hyperdrives in star wars or phasers in star trek
Element
99% of the shit in ARK is explained away with Element and pseudo-science shit.
Have you heard abt halo?
wth everything from a damn material that destroys earth 🤣🤣🤣
These franchises do take place 100s of years in the future I mean
I have a confusion a bit,how this Ark peoject manage to bring back myth creature, isnt a bit unlogic?for other creatures like dinos likely from fossil DNA in my opinion, but how about the myth creature how humans in Ark manage to bring them back?🤔
Imo it's just something they added to add a lil More challenge
just confused how the humans manage to get it😅
Probably not brought back like the dinosaurs but just heavily altered versions of creatures that already existed, or somehow made from scratch. With things like Rock Golems and Phoenixes functioning because Element.
the Arks were meant to fast-track evolution by finding survivors that could work through surviving a harsh environment and overcome challenges. this puts them into a wide variety of biomes with a wide variety of creatures both extinct and fictional, and both basically created from the ground up
I though teh scientist of arks need to collect DNA first😅
Considering Rockwell creates stuff like Noglins and Summoners it's possible to just make new species.
seems they can just recreate it
dinosaur DNA isn't something that can be collected since it doesn't last millions of years
the Morellatops was the first real indicator of that in lore iirc, Helena identified it as an animal that didn't have a known basis from paleontology
well humans can clone and make own beings from high technology though, human tech can do beyond normal reach
hmm if Ark II continuom after genesis,so humans started as prehistoric age then🤔,fascinating,I wonder how the story will be later
I thought he only infected them and stuff didn't know he actually created them
does anybody knows, does the lore say starting on scorched earth as a new survivor or a preleveled survivor from the island?
Yeah and those species were inspired by folk lore I assume as a maybe f u
Naw he was creating things on gen 2 before that he was only experimenting
they don't mention levels at all in lore
damn thats sick
I always read that as a means of hopefully further discouraging the local Ark populations from progressing.
That's basically the stated goal of a lot of the more extreme problems in universe. Like the leedsichthys being there is to sink rafts and force people to return to the interior of the Ark.
Yeah
Hopefully in the future we can see more
they go by the engram system, so
levels are implied.
The announcement for a new storyline map would highly indicate a new map after gen 2 which would likely be genesis part 3 / arat prime.
This would likely bridge the time between the end of ark 1 and into ark 2 to some time before meeka is born, thus completing a trilogy and possibly more dlc content parallel to bob dlc.
HLNA and rockwell died and so did the survivor and memories of hers and the survivor’s could be utilized in either explorer note holograms , barely functioning/ broken terminals or both.
Would be a massive waste of a trailer and a couple years if they just dont bridge end of ark 1 and the ark 2 trailers with a new map.
This new storyline map is it if it even exists in development.
not exactly, no. The engramic matrix is how peoples memories and all are stored, even long after death and not at all related to someone leveling up
this is certainly a possibility, but its also likely that it'll be a map to bridge Extinction and Genesis Part 1, as there is a pretty big gap there
the engrammic matrix refers to the cytoplasm/cell remnants that HLNA mentions when survivors died , or whatever they were able to scrape up at the moment of harvesting.
basically just DNA memories .
The implant is how you acess those genetic memories.
Its already mentioned at the end of extinction that the survivor(s) are just straight getting homo deused/ data transferred into the genesis ships.
HLNA is basically created during this transfer.
The continuity is pretty much there since the motives of the arks are explained to clean up planet , reseed it, and hopefully take it out of tidal lock.
Precisely, however, it has nothing to do with leveling
Alluded to, yes, but not straight up mentioned. The choice, as is, is left to the player if your Genesis character is from the ARK’s or a fresh body. Plus, although we have snippets of how things went down for Rockwell to reach the ship, theres enough gray area for them to create a map off it
Plus it’s current scheduled release lines up between Extinction and Genesis
It could be implied. Whether a leveling system even exists is up for speculation since i dont recall in any of the explorer notes of them mentioning level specifics.
also this
Alleged straight from the creators mouth that already established canon maps/dlc will be released first before any new ones will be available, which warrants speculation for genesis part 3 / arat prime.
With how the world in the lore was far more realistic then what we have, a leveling system seems unlikely
Especially as supply drops are never mentioned, which would be another thing from gameplay that would make an impact on story
Fair point, guess its just a game of wait and see then. Though the odds of it being another Genesis dlc is unlikely, seeing as the ship is now gone
Also, Arat Prime is a location on Earth, Arat is the planet
I dont see them releasing a new dlc this upcoming month when extinction is pretty much supposedly their main focus.
and the Eden part of the genesis ship actually remained as i recall so bunch of stuff could end up on Arat.
Just the corrupted part that rockwell was on was destroyed.
Otherwise, Santiago and the other survivors would have perished, thus no Ark 2.
yes, the eden ring is still there, of which we already explored
realistically, and I'm not saying this as proof that they won't but more reason that they shouldn't, they should avoid anything after gen 2 till they release ark 2
anything on Ascended related to Arat will put a stain on Ark 2 if it isn't done well, especially as they wont be able to incorporate all the new systems they want too with Ark 2 on Ascended
logically, avoiding Arat would be smart, and theres not enough content on whats left of the Genesis ship to have a story map there
ASE ended off on Gen 2 so understandably they would be motivated to conclude genesis as a trilogy seeing how well BTT dlc did in sales so having another trilogy of dlc would just bolster Snails bottom line some more.
Will not be surprised if they use gen 3 / planet arat assets from ASA to be ported into Ark 2 which is the nature of the beast in game development, if they decide to go that route.
i wouldnt be surprised either honestly
Call me basic but probably Helena

Honestly I just want to see what some of the other arks were like that we didn't get to see
Or more likely this^
given helena herself is unreliable of being a paleontologist herself (see Bronto Dossier)
doesn't mean she's wrong about the morellatops
Mine is probably rockwell his notes are rlly cool
What Ark is it you're story wise supposed to be going to when Rockwell diverts you off course to Aberration?
We don't know
Hmm. Guess it's just another of the many Arks we haven't seen.
¿So ark 2 will be real and not a simulation like genesis 1?
Could be a paid DLC in the future
Kinda doubt it, story maps are paid for and going to that map would divert off the story
Only Genesis-1 was a simulation, so yes.
The story's fkning done Theres no story really left to tell on ark unless it's ark 2 you see why this is an issue?
They could do an Arat-Prime expansion set between Extinction and Genesis-1, and an ARK-2 prequel expansion set on a small portion of Arat, with it being set right after Genesis-2 in the PoV of The Survivor.
But yeah, besides those two it's getting a bit limiting with ARK-1's story.
That's why I say branch out the world's big we can see other survivors pov
Like, I'd be down with that.
No reason we can't play on other ARK's that The Survivor never canonically goes to, but we can still transfer to it as the players.
Yes Exactly there's other arks +arat-prime set on earth + a prequel dlc it makes them money and its all new content 👌
I didn't hear it, but my friend that was watching Extra Life said that Jeremy (or Jesse, can't recall who) stated that they're redoing the Extinction ending.
So we'll see.
Huh intresting
It was mostly just touchups from my understanding, not a full on new ascension
Sure, but those touchups can still build upon something else later on.
Oh 100%
Like, here's what they could do.
-Redo Rockwell's grunts to have David actually say "I am coming for you, all" or whatever the grunts said.
-.png of Arat-Prime near the crashed Aberration ARK, to actually signify if they're going to do an Arat-Prime expansion or not.
That's kind of all they need to do. Wouldn't be a completely new ascension, just a touched up version of it.
(which they should've fucking done with Aberration.)
Yeah Aberration’s Ascension is what’s making me pessimistic about what changes will be made
Cause yeah overall it’s small, simple things, but so was Ab’s ascension
again they said a new d]story dlc are comming after gen2 in asa they said that like 1 year ago
Jeremy said a new canonical map is in the works and we will hear about it later on this year during his interview with Raasclark.
so what happen if all humans in the new terraformed ark planet? are they gonna left their Tek technologies and let the jurrassic age goes on?
Hope they give us 15 extra lvls too 🙏
Doubtful, but I shall join you in this hope
Imagine 15more level after exe
Question, is Whuzui a bred Raptor with mutations or is he an alpha?
Just a wild she tamed, not bred or an alpha
🗿
So the big difference between wild members of the same species is canon, I believed that whuzui was a offspring of Mei Yin's best raptors or an alpha.
Except that alphas are more a gameplay feature then canon, and Wuzhui was the first raptor she tamed
Ok.
according to the notes he was the first raptor she tamed
Wait the heck did they changed the ascension into?
thats the problem, it wasn't changed at all
i was hoping extinction would look like, well, extinction
but instead its the exact same as ASE, looking all lava-like when we know it doesn't look like that
Yeah, they kept the same fucking .png as well.
Though, Jesse stated that the Extinction ending is being 'slightly' changed, so we'll see if that actually leads into anything interesting.
hoping for the best, expecting little
Wait do we know what asa extinction will look like? Is their like a small sneak peek
Not directly no, but seeing as the main promo image for ASA that shows pieces of all the maps (excluding gen 1 for some reason) has Extinction looking basically the same as ASE.
And basing off how the biggest aesthetic change they’ve made to a map so far is making everything sandstone on the Island, it seems unlikely they’ll change Extinction up from the promo and ASE
Oh I see what would you want it look like? Like have all that red fog like the abb ascension
I honestly don’t care either way, i just wish they kept Ab’s ascension accurate to the map
I mean just cus a 2d picture looks the same doesn't mean the map will
They confirmed that they're not going to change too much with Extinction, which goes against the Aberration .png version of Extinction.
Ooohh ok thx for explaining I didn't know they changed the png from the ase version
No, they 'didn't' change it. Which is what idontsk8 was saying. They wished that the png would actually look like the real version of Extinction that we'll get, not the screapped version.
Didn't even know there was a scrapped version
Yeah, the version of Extinction you see at the end of Aberration. Where the air was all black, with a lava-cracked environment that looked extremely more dead then the desert we got in-game.
Ah gotcha I just thought that was just a artsyle choice
Well, gotta also take into consideration that we wake up in a forest proto-ARK at the end of Aberration, which doesn't exist in-game.
When you go to the same location in ASE's Extinction, it was just a small tek-town out of bounds instead of an entire proto-ARK with a grown-over Obelisk.
Ah ok guess I learned something new today
Isn’t just the west side of sanctuary? It lines up fairly well
I didn't actually pay attention to abb cut scene on asa because I didn't think it'd change at all I assumed it was the area near green ob in the city
The location you wake up is somewhat out of bounds, but like, you can see it type of out of bounds.
Again, it's just a few buildings over there now.
I see what you mean I always assumed that it was the area near west sanctuary green ob because that proto ark ob looks the same
Honestly same
It probably is roughly the same model (all obelisks look the same in ASE outside of color) but the positioning is way too far off.
If you notice, you can see the entire city of Sanctuary and the data-bank building thing Helena goes to in the Aberration ascension.
Though if you're at the park where the green mini-Obelisk is at in-game, you're 'in' the city, so you can't see the entire shot of the city, nor the data-bank thingy.
Also, random fact. The broken spire at the end of Aberration's Ascension you see in the WAAAAY background is a space elevator.
Remnants of it exist in the devkit, and even a entire 3D model for it.
Was even in the old extinction trailer if memory serves me correct
It's actually even in the launch trailer
Thats what i meant
Launch trailer for Extinction was fucking weird, if you break it down scene by scene.
Man, i still remember how good some of those trailers were
It had like so many shots of random versions of it.
The King-Titan arena is more frozen over in the trailer as well compared to in-game.
Extinction was a complete disaster it seems like in the background to make.
They had space elevators
Publicly, it has **the ** most amount of cut content.
Hopefully we get a better version of it
Unlikely
They stated in stream they're not changing much, so we're not.
They heard people complain so much with The Center and Aberration that they're not going to change stuff too much anymore, at least that's how it was kind of worded.
What about aberration is different other than the lighting? Honestly i cant think of much
Radiation Zone
It certainly has more life, but i still feel it mostly comes down to the lighting over anything
Shit just looks ugly now.
And they got rid of the golden fungi's in the drake trench, to make it look like everywhere else in the Radiation zone
Yeah the drake trench is fair
Maybe to you. But me, and I've seen others complain that artistically, it just looks so much worse.
Lighting isn't an issue to me, besides it glitching out.
It's just artistically worse.
Dont get me wrong, i’m not a fan of what’s happened to ab
Yes but most maps in asa look different even if slightly different yk
Fertile zone and surface are the only areas that got a decent upgrade
Biolum looks worse for the most part, and rad zone looks terrible
Yeah, but seems like they're not going to go to extremes anymore like they did with previous maps. (hopefully)
Even a texture change on extinction would be enough imo
Yerp.
Surface actually got the biggest upgrade with a more detailed out-of-bounds locations.
Indeed, not to mention the corrupt earth
I'm afraid rags gonna be basically the same and there won't be shit for base spots(I'm a pvper) which kinda sucks
Unless extinction brings back land base meta rags cooked from a pvp pov
The new Rad-zone is just way too fucking purple.
And I believe that's not even lighting, I'm pretty sure those are just the asset colors.
ASA has an issue of having a lack of color-pallet, for some reason.
All I can fucking see in the ASA version is different shades of purple, while in the ASE Rad-zone, the rocks are charred and blackish, with orange dirt paths, with purple Element rivers, and to top it off it had giant red crystals to give it variety.
Yeah
I complain that the rocks on The Island are only orange and have no variety, but Jesus fucking H. Christ, the Rad-Zone is so much worse.
An entire biome, that takes up like 1/4th of the entire fucking map, is just purple.
Yeah honestly, after Ab i dont mind the Island’s sandstone everywhere
Other then tek cave, it really doesn’t do tek cave the honor it deserves
I'm half expecting the underground forest on Extinction to just be 95% green, and nothing else.
No grey for rocks, no orange for dirt paths, nothing.
I'm half expecting the Obelisk to be so fucking covered that it's practically an edible vegetarian Obelisk with how much fucking green it'll have.
With green crystals that reflect green lighting.
No they’re just gonna be white crystals that dont glow or reflect light at all, they’ll just be there
That sounds preferable.
Better then green for sure
This comment most likely will age like fine wine unfortunately
It's gonna look dusty too I bet
How did Rockwell get on the genisis ship
after the arks landed on extinction after you defeat the king titan, AI Helana transfers herself over to the genisis ship.
The Aberant ark had also landed and seems like Rockwell hitched a ride with Helana’s transfer
But how did he
We killed him in Abb
And what about the genisis simulation?
you can't really kill Rockwell on Aberration. He's now merged with the ARK, becoming it's "Overseer". This means the only way to really kill him would be to destroy the entire ARK, as it will keep bringing him back
Ohhhhhh I knew he merged with the ark but I didn't know the ark would do that
indeed
honestly we don't even know if when we face him we actually kill him, or just severely wound him
But if he merged with it how did he manage to get on the genisis ship
exactly as mentioned here
there was a superliminal link between Arat Prime and the Genesis Ship, that allowed him to transfer over when Helena left it open
Wait hol on
So Rockwell manage to hual his 100ft+ ass onto the ship? Or did he like respawn on the ship an just continued doing the thing he did on Abb?
presumably it would only transfer one's mind
Ok so there was a subliminal link that let him get on th ship
Is there a clear answer on actually how he managed to get on?
nope, none at all
the hope is the new story map will take place between Extinction and Gen 1, bridging that gap and giving us that info
well, assuming that its only the mind transferred, it basically let him restart his transformation, and after who knows how long merged with the ARK and Element, he probably gathered a way to control his transformation
and, he has to play into his god complex, which means not just controlling the ship but becoming it
He merged with element??
Wouldn't that turn him into a nameless
nameless aren't humans
and yes, he injected himself with element
he went mad because of it, thinking it would make him a "god"
I got it wrong
They are element infused humanoids
Not element infused humans
dont think its even stated that they are infused with element honestly
The description of abb for asa calls them element infused humanoids
ah, so it does
Ok so basically
Don't inject yourself with element or you will suffer horrible mutations
i mean, preferably dont have anything to do with it lol
Yeah
look at what happened to earth because of the stuff
Element is sentiment right?
indeed, or atleast vaguely sentient
So what I've got so far
Humans discovered element, a sentiment material
That split the people into 2 factions, people who use element and those who didn't, by the time they found out element is sentiment it was to late for earth and they boarded the genisis ship and sent the arks into space to train survivors how to fight the element to reclaim earth
if only, but no they both used element
i cant remember if the 2 factions were a thing before or after elements arrival
I got that from Reddit so it might not be true
but they basically had a giant war over the stuff, and when they realized it was corruptive and destroying the planet it was to late
so they came up with 2 plans, the Genesis Ship and the ARK's
one to create life on a new planet, and one to attempt to save the current one
And the domes the Titans live in are the prototypes for the arks
indeed
And the element that we use for tek and stuff isn't the sentiment world ending stuff?
a refined version of it
I just realized iv been saying sentiment instead of sentient
presumably the use of our tek gear would cause the same effect as Extinction, but Extinction was caused over a very long war with some crazy tek weaponry
all good, i got what you were going for lol
Lol
So because of the war the element started to spread and become more sentient and dangerous
yeah basically
its roots grew deeper till it couldn't be cleared by the people of the time
And the titans are byproducts of the protoarks or the element?
element, they are beings made of pure element
its basically like manifestations of power, which is also why killing them allows the ARK's to purge element
its never really explained, just that they can be
how Helena-deus explains it is you can either slay them or tame them to summon the King Titan
oversee the arks, keep dino populations high, make sure survivors are progressing
So they can create creatures?
yep, same way they make survivors
They use dna from humans to respawn them in the ark and do the same for Dino's? That's how they would keep their memory
well for survivors they use something called the "engramic matrix", which apparently stores all their memories and allows them to be cloned with them
That's what I meant
creatures on the other hand are probably more jurrasic park style, if not full on genetic recreations
Ik this is a bad example as it's not fully canon but it do they get Sent to the ark when they die like in the animated series?
its not really specified, nobody really mentions dying in their notes then reawaking on the arks
its entirely possible that it works the same way, or they just snip out the last part of someones memories so they dont remember dying
translation devices and survivor trackers for the Overseer
Translation device?
yep, in the game lore it works as a translation device
Which is?
people who speak different languages can understand eachother
just gameplay
100%
Ok so my next point is did Rockwell create reapers?
negatory, they were a thing before Rockwell became the Overseer
Did Rockwell create anything?
not on Aberration, no
Did he on gen2?
yes
Like the experimental giga?
shadowmanes, noglins, summoners, stuff like that
that is an in-simulation creature, but yes he did
Alright
Are they any creatures that are natural to the world and not genetically created?
Besides the space dolphin
Because that one is already confirmed
Managarmr, Snow Owl, Gasbags, Velonosaur, and Gacha are natural creatures, though as shown by their appearance on the genesis ship they can be cloned
Huh were they always there or was it after/during the war that they appeared
after, they are creatures that evolved with element instead of being corrupted by it
though Mana's actually probably aren't part of that list, as Helena remarks on how they are related to wyverns
Is there anything about what they were before the element?
other then appearance suggesting what they were, not really no
Ah
Ok now is there any reason why the names are biblical or is it just like that cause it sounds cool
the ARK's?
Yeah Ark and genisis
well, ARK has a lot of biblical themes in it, but those are probably the ones that make the most sense
the ARK's are preserving life from a calamity to one day bring all that life back to rehabitate the world
Genesis is the beginning of a new world for the people and creatures preserved on the ship
That actually makes a lot more sense now that I think of it
Why would they bring Dino's on the ship but not modern animals?
its actually explained in a glitch on Gen 1, that progression and survival feats were better with dinosaurs then modern animals
basically, you're more likely to adapt to a harsh environment if a rex is hunting you vs a lion
I knew the human+dino combo wa the best but I thought they only did that for that arks
well the ARK's and Simulation were running off of similar ideals, trying to super prepare survivors for their futures, just different futures planned
Different?
well, the ARK's were there to save earth, vs the genesis ship leaving earth
one wanted to save the planet and bring life back, one wanted to save life by leaving for a new planet
Well thank you for explaining this for me and I'm sorry for taking up your time
nah it was fun, don't get to go in depth into ark lore much anymore lol
neddy the noodles video on it is soooo good
I love the dossier ones
Manas are Norse mythology
Nekatus hates them though
jus watched noodles vid on lore last night it was fire
How come it's always daytime on extinction?
Earth is tidally locked
Because night extinction would be horrifying
Then how come the snow biome and the desert biome can be night? Is it cause there like their own little arks?
Correctamundo.
Their spheres are able to replicate a false night&day cycle, just like the ARK's in orbit like The-Island.
Ohhh that's so awesome
Hopefully Extinction gives out bonus levels this time around seeing how Jeremy said they are changing it (slightly).
I have seen so much different ark lore videos and speculations and such. It's a crazy story.
I ave a question what is your favorite survivor lore
Hopefully
bob
hello
So glad we aren’t on the other side of the earth to experience that
Speaking of that
Where is arar prime and extinction located on earth?
Hold on a damn minute
That would be a really good horror map
Freezing cold dark...yeah sounds like a cool map especially if it takes place in a bigger city
I wanna see ocean titans
The oceans of earth dried up with the spread of element, and from what we know about titans, they adapt/are created based on their location. (ex: forest titan being made of corrupted trees) So although a cool idea, I don’t see the proper circumstances where an aquatic titan could come to be.
Aren’t they made of pure element rather than corrupted stuff
It flop
They’re brought into existence and live off of pure element, acting as beacons for the hive mind. Element uses other hosts all the time as seen in corrupted and enraged creatures. I don’t think it’ll be a far stretch saying that the titans came to being when enough element came together and used the organic matter of the environment to form the beasts.
They're beings created of pure Element.
Near the end of The Collapse, before all life went extinct on Earth, the Titans started to form due to the huge amount of pollution of Corruption in the air.
Since they're made from Element, and act as living manifestations to the Hivemind, they have the properties that Element does. Which its key feature is its comically highly adaptive nature.
So any of these Titans formed would be suited to their environment.
(pretty sure that's what The One Who Wait's explains)
The last preparations have been made. When I set down this pen and begin my final experiment, I shall finally achieve my ultimate goal. I shall at last look down upon the bumblings of mortal men from high above on an Edmundium throne.
I, Sir Edmund Rockwell, shall become a god!
So on this day, let earth and heaven tremble! Let the rivers of this blessed metal sing a song of triumph that echoes forever throughout the depths of these caverns! Let the unworthy drown in despair, for a great doom approaches them, and it shall swallow them whole alongside anyone who dared to mock my name!
On this day, on this glorious day, I ascend!
Is the surface of ab the actual surface of the ab ark?
the ab surface is what remains after the shield was damaged and blasted by solar radiation
Ty
before then the surface was like The Island
Jesus Christ how strong was the radiation
Mixture of that, with Ab stuff over it.
We saw a glimpse of what it looked like during the Aberration intro, and it always had comically large mushrooms.
i thought that was just part of the NeddyTheNoodle video
we do know it had a surrounding ocean since Diana tried to tek suit her way across it
I mean they are floating in space close to the sun and co so i wouldnt be surprised its like in the movie the core where two face explains solar radiation on earth
i think its a bit exxaggerated
Who tf is Diana
check out Neddy's videos
he made a cinematic series with all the notes up through extinction
Ik who neddy is
Yeah
oh, sorry i read idk not ik
Ok where in game can I find out an understand this lore
It's good
the explorer notes
each story map has them
Island, Scorched Earth, Aberration, Extinction, and Gen 1 and Gen 2
Explorer notes
Well yeah but is there anything else
not really, in game
90% of the lore is in the notes, and it just flat out gives you the information.
8% is from the intro/epilogue cutscenes, and 2% is environmental storytelling.
Oh
Ty
What happened to the shinehorn?
What do you mean?
Oh, it mutates into a horrible abomination, akin to a skinny Deathclaw, but when the Tek-Survivors found it out, they put it down.
👁👄👁

So basically element is fucking terrifying
raw element, yes
refine it and you basically get the Vibranium from Black Panther
a wonder metal that can do anything and everything, regardless of what physics says
Raw?
So element dust, shards, and full element is a refined version
And what about unstable element
more like the liquid element on ab
Is that the blue area?
That's not horrifying 😬
in lore it crashed into earth and began spreading while humans used it for technology and warfare
by extinction earth is a barren wasteland and tidally locked
Tidally locked?
it doesnt spin anymore
so one side always faces the sun and gets cooked, one side faces away and is frozen
the king titan area?
Oh that's what it is
Yeah
just another area where element has warped the surface of the earth
Ok but why is there blood/miscellaneous red goop
dunno. random mutated fungus i guess since you get fungal wood from them
Scary, but kind of a baby compared to other hiveminds in fiction.
Corruption is just a raging hivemind that only wants to destroy, and the moment it gets its ass wooped, it starts to feel fear and panic.
Basically the galaxies version of a bully.
Lmao
Deathclaw in ark pog
Yeah I think it crashed at some point but do we know when @bold dove
it was gonna ascend to godhood but then the evil survivors killed it.
We should be able to make messed up creatures lol
I don't think we have a confirmed date. But I think it's theorized to be around the 22nd-23rd century. As technology boomed afterwards, and a bit after in like the 24th-25th century, the Element-war started. And that shit lasted a few centuries as well.
Ngl i would love to see cinematic stuff about that war and co
Hey before I waste my time with neddys lore video I need to know
Is it the absolute full, and complete lore?
No Ext, sadly....
Is there any lore explanation on why I die as soon as I get out of Extintion map boundaries.
Yo, what do you guys think this new story map will be like? (not extinction)
I dobt thibk that has any lore reason just game design so that the map wont be finite
Only makes sense to be in between Extintion and Genesis 1 or after Genesis 2 and before Ark 2.
The story gaps are there, the Gen2 to Ark2 I say this for the obvious reason that seems like years passed.
Would’ve guessed that, but those red antenas always bothered me for some reason.
Arat Prime is hopefully the next expansion, but like you said. They could 100% do an planet Arat one that acts as a direct prequel/tech demo for ARK-2.
I'm hoping with the old roadmap, that the "ARK Surprise" is the expansion, since it's scheduled to release between Extinction and Genesis-1. (assuming that roadmap is still viable to any form of degree.)
I don’t think so, just because the Ark surprise seems more like a trailer of a new map than an actual new map.
Maybe it is, because they have been 1 year since the game release (+ maybe more if they had planned the map along the game).
But with the workload of remaking a map each 3 months, and seeing they even need to use extra studios and modders.
I would bet the Ark surprise it’s a trailer, not the actual map.
Going through the Aberration notes again. There is a ton of talk about the broken state of the System from She Who Waits.
thats basically Deus Helena
after she ascends to Homo Deus thats what she's referred to as
(In case anybody doesn't know. The ASE Extinction notes cover this. We won't get the ASA ones until map release.)
Looking forward to the Bob's Tail take on it. Should be...creative.
And in case you want to know, Gigantoraptor nests can spawn on top of notes.
Arat
Definetly + maybe we get a bob hint for the newest lore mao at the end of bob tall tales
Looking at the Aberration note maps on the official wiki, it is interesting how Helena and Rockwell notes tend to be grouped together. Many are in pairs that are within walking distance. The notes on the Island were more regional, e.g. Meiyin are almost all in the snow. Just as how the Graduate students follow a rough axis from the Hidden Machine to the Overlook. I think it is a nice detail, even if not intentional. The Helena-Rockwell grouping tracks with the storyline and BTT illustrating Helena and Rockwell in the same scenes frequently.
Of course Dossier are scattered widely and randomly just as on all maps.
I never knew ark had so much lore
Arat or Arat prime you mean?
Arat: Is the planet
Arat prime: Launch place to Genesis ship in Earth
Arat prime
I love how its always "ascending" to homo deus when in reality its one of the worst thing that can happen to you, because you start slowly fade away as a hum and eventually just vanish, and the only way for someone to stay alive for longer is if they are assigned a task
small bit of warhammer right there
Helena seems to have done alright
Well, based on bits of lore, shes more like an exception, and she kind of faded away aswell, after extintion
Most people that turned into homo deus, were just assigned certain functions and eventually faded away into simple and primitive barely conscious entities that were only good for tasks that they were assigned to
i think the reason why hele held on for decades if not more in deus form is because her "task/mission" was to save humanity, so it was complex enough for her to be herself long enough
yeah. I thought she just transformed what was left of her personality into HLNA
Hence the reason why its HLNA, just a shorter version of Helena
Also explains why HLNA is very excited about exploring (i mean maybe it was necessary for its primary function, but Helena was pretty much the same)
How does element work
In every way and better than all else. Just don't use too much or it will kill you, everyone around you, everyone around them and consume the whole planet without stopping.
for the nerdz that are here, can someone explain how we go from being in extinction/earth to being in the genesis ship/simulation?
Iirc you beam pr transmit yoir data via a transmitter onto the ship
Player choice if your the same survivor or not 👍
If your the same survivor as the one on the arks then you transfer via the arat prime hyperlink I think
If you aren’t the same survivor then your just some random guy woken up
Yep. I helped write a third of it.
It covers everything that was in Survival Evolved.
I feel like you may be a little biased
But yeah its good and covers everything lol
Tysm
i thought extinction lore wise came after the genesis maps, i could be wrong though
It’s prior to them, the Genesis maps are practically their own story with little relevance to the ARK’s outside of our man Sir Edmund Rockwell making his way over to the ship from the ARK’s
So genesis maps ARE after extinction right?
Yep
All this ark lore is kinda confusing ngl
im just saying it would kinda make sense for extinction to be after them
True
cause where do you go while floating through space in the exo mek?
Cause genesis requires Rockwell to make it back down to earth
To the ships that are going into a new planet/ark 2 i think? Not sure tho, maybe our human is just dead after that
Back the genesis ring, theres a little notification at the top at the very end of the cutscene saying “autodock initiated” or something
Which then goes to ark 2?
Or theres the possibility we go crashing down to Arat
Well the ring should theoretically stay in orbit, but all the life inside it is getting sent to Arat
