Aberration probably had guardians but they were never mentioned bc the tek survivors hacked a portal straight to the overseer, that incident lead to the overseer chamber getting blown up and likely putting any guardian in stasis until they got summoned by a overseer. Rockwell did fall into a guardian chamber where we fight him on ab and became the Overseer of aberration after mutating himself with element and taking the place of the nuked Overseer.

Element makes creatures transform into a stronger and more monstrous version of themselves (that is inherent to element over biological creatures in general, not special to the ferox), but it doesn't like to lose control over them...
But eventually the ferox returns to it's normal state, so what is probably going on in order is:
1: element transforms it, as with anything else
2: the ferox is good at metabolizing and removing it from itself, then it eventually turns back to normal (that is it's own biological capacity, and that allows it return to it's normal form and not become a mindless/mind-controlled raging monster forever, unlike any other creature corrupted by element)
then 3: the ferox then uses it's capability to use element, without losing itself to it permanently, for it's own self-defense when it needs to and has element too... and of course it is addictive still, just metabolizable for it

Now... that was unstable/pure element, idk what average element (the blue one, which is the one that we give to ferox, and that is more stable/less pure) would do, but it would prolly still do something like that, becoming like a raging monster, perhaps not so mindless/mindcontrolled? (Idk, we prolly have a better metabolism than good old man rockwell, and with it not being pure the effect wouldn't be as crazy, but we still prolly don't have metabolism as good as ferox, which is adapted to do that

That all is, i am assuming humans can even metabolize that in any way, and so we prolly would do that better than if we were old, but it could be that only ferox can actually do that properly, since it is the only one we get to see doing it, idk)

Imo, the real question is, we see what ferox turn into with element (normal/pure) although it is adapted to dealing with it, we get to see what rockwell briefly became once he injected it (pure) into hinself, then after once he fused with overseer (rockwell boss), the controller, and then reformed into the prime
We see corrupted dinos and corrupted survivors (these look that way probably because they are created as minions of other element creatures (king titan and rockwell), and not by direct contact with pure element alone like them)...
We also hear of an experiment from rockwell with pure element on a shinehorn that resulted in a monster, before he did that with himself

But then the real question is, rockwell was once a human, what king titan once was then?

But anyways it's weird because I can't see any way the survivor over on extinction would end up in a ship simulation. So I feel like it has to be a different survivor, but it doesn't make sense as when you first meet HLNA it seems like she knows you. I dunno there's a lot of odd disconnects that make it feel weird

Honestly, discussing this feels really unnecessary when the devs themselves choose to name one column of maps "Story Arks" in the menu and the other column "Custom Arks". They are not a part of the story lol

In the end this is a game, some things aren't going to make sense story wise. I like to see the custom Arks as clean slates for your own stories, they're just maps that Wildcard thought were cool and wanted in their game. All mod maps fit into that category too, as those maps originally were mods, and that is also where you find your personally picked and downloaded mod maps that haven't become official

Survive the ARK contains creatures exclusive to these custom maps, yes. But does that make the maps canon, ESPECIALLY when the devs have themselves stated that they are not, in the main menu

I think that it's all a matter of circumstance and the time difference at which parts of the game were developed, for example the main menu screen where you can see story arks separated by custom arks has been there since day one pretty much, and back then as far as I'm aware all they had plans for was the overseer fight and that was it. They probably didn't think TOO much about the lore like they do now, back then. To them it was probably an afterthought back then and the whole notes thing they do just ended up sticking so they kept on doing it. Ark didn't originally have this deep of a lore planned, and I think it's all a matter of how things developed. We dunno really if these custom maps would be considered part of a distant ark system, but it truthfully wouldn't matter anyways because the main story survivor would have never seen em. So while they COULD be real, whether they are or not doesn't really matter because no one from the lore has seen or encountered these so for now they probably do not exist, at least to all canonical characters so far

The Eden ring ends up above the planet and being dropped.

The humans land, and on the planet encounter the flood. If you notice master chief’s suit and especially helmet is very tekesque

So the Eden ring is taken care of and earth is clear of the flood and don’t even know they exist because the earth humans were in the arks and haven’t gone as far as the Eden ring did.

Now, on earth Tek and ele is an illegal and controlled substance only used in a couple of top military labs and technologies to keep the war and its results from happening again.

At the same time the descendants of the Eden ring survivors still use it and in their escape and attack on the forerunners introduce it to them

This is why forerunner places have a lot of insane technologies, Tek riflesque weapons, and smooth shiny metal structures with blue lights incorporated into them

In the end using the Eden ring as a model they create the halos to fight the flood and destroy themselves, the flood, and all the remaining Eden ring descendants (those that are left from the happenings explained in halo 4)

They know about earth and that the humans will probably spread again bc of the Eden descendants so they prepare for them.

Now back to earth. Dr Halsey makes the Spartans.

For most of them she uses kids and secretly uses a Tek infused substance to make them super soldiers.

Here comes the huge part… the survivor dna data center and one respawn recreation pod is still in existence. But the location has been forgotten and no one knows about it. It is also in the UNSC law books that it’s discovery is to be reported and that it will be off limits as they don’t want someone spawning in thousands of test survivors again

Halsey discovers it, and doesn’t announce it immediately. After all shes already been breaking rules and wouldn’t want to be noticed

Instead she waits until shes found the dna for a certain survivor. You. The person that passed the arks and brought them home. Even tho you were alone

She uses your dna and brings you back only changing the respawn tank so that it brings you back in a six year old body but with the skills you gained through your life in the arks

Once she spawns you she implants a fake memory (like they did with Santiago) and trains you with the rest of the spartan II group. You’re always her favorite tho because she knows who you are, what you did, what you can do, and what you can become.

Then the covenant war happens

She releases you and the others to fight the covenant and then makes Cortana who chooses you like Halsey did.

Idk but it’s not a far fetched idea to think that maybe Helena puts the last little bit of her essence into Cortana to help you and show you that you are more than a machine Halsey made.

And that’s as far as the theory goes. The rest is just halo lore and no longer any ark mixed in

We don't know how Corruption is formed, only that it came around after the tek-war.
For all we know, what happened on Earth could be the only known traces of Corruption. And now it's trying to clinge to life.

We also know the King-Titan fears death after being sliced by the mega-mek, which the KT is the physical embodiment of Corruption.
Sooooo, could be a stretch. But it also might be feasable to say that both Rockwell and Corruption where scared at the end of Genesis-2.

The nuke went off, and as they asked they discovered they where miles above the ARK itself, and floating in space

That way you still had the tests of the bosses and if you couldn’t beat them you were stuck. And that is why we are able to go through all of them.

I figure that this is just a gameplay thing as well, and we were not meant to know everything, but instead pick and choose what our survivor was to know and what would have to be purchased or traded for from other players

Engrams are tied to the brain, since I believe they're suppose to be IRL engram cells. (basically cells in neurons dedicated to memories)
Tools seem to also transfer.
