Why are we going in circles
Again, I worded it wrong.
9k Nukes, not Tsar bombas
They'd also probably would have something more powerful to be able to wipe New-Zealand off of the map. (which is canon)
That makes things much easier,
You right.
And thats purely theoretical it probably wouldn't take that many to actually destroy the moon once a few hundred caused irreversible seismic damage
Does seismic stuff even exist on the moon actually
Does the moon have earthquakes
Moonquakes even????
Wanna go to the moon and fuck around and find out?
Yes

Then how do we know the difference between an earthquake and a moonquake
What if theres a moonquake on the Earth
I think its pretty chill out there and say that there probably isnt any, but i dont know for sure.
Oh yeah they do
Theres even marsquakes
I don't think it would take close to 9k nukes to destory the moon depending on their power though
It also depends on where its detonated
I've never been more shocked than i was when i looked up is there seismic activity on the moon and moonquake was the first word i saw
As of 2019, there are 15,000 nuclear weapons on planet Earth.
I wonder if thats enough
Something tells me that is not even remotely accurate and just what the governments of the world want us to know
Maybe.
But the government? Lie to us? They would never
There is a rule that prohibits the use/creation of any nuclear arsenal and it is signed internatiaonally, but then again, we are simple citizens lol.
Governments? Break international treaties behind each other's backs? Nawwwww
One thing i know is that nukes are very expensive to create and even more expensive to contain so that would NOT be very beneficial unless there is a massive world conflict going on.
They just dump them in a warehouse
I dont think its that easy.
There is a constant check of each one of them.
Imagine one goes off dawg.
In a werehouse with other ones 💀
Pakistan is the country that America is ready to like waltz all over to secure their nukes incase of an emergency right and China supports America in that?
We're going to have Fusion reactors somewhat soon. Interested to see how the safety shit is going to go down with that.
Wait, did China literally say they support that?
I dunno if they said it but from what I've heard they're okay with it because of how careless they are with nukes
Damn, one of the few things the U.S and China can agree on. 💀
Ain't nobody wants a nuke to be in bad hands because they drive them around in unguarded white vans😭
Tell that to fucking Russia right now. 🗿
Sadly, it's touching everyone else. 💀
What's with China and Russia right now, anyway?
I dunno i haven't heard anything
Although I've been out of the loop on that side of the globe for a while after i knew they weren't winning their "special operation"
Yall went from the Moon's exploision in Ark to the current political situation in Russia ☠️
China keeps going on and off of them 'we support Russia' to 'we don't support Russia' then back to supporting them?
It's like "Motherfuckers, pick already" 🗿
Eh, it happens.
Politics is allowed as long as it stays civil.
I heard about how they basically lost a coup to Wagner
Wait, so China attacked a group of Russian troops?
Wagner occupied two cities for a day and had a massive convoy headed for Moscow and they had to beg for them to stop and go home
No Wagner, the mercenary group Russia uses
Ooooh
Russia and Wagner keep infighting
What is Wagner?
I just know its a mercenary group thats more competent than the Russian military
Like they didn't even try to fight back i guess they just immediately started digging trenches around Moscow
Competent, sure.
But from what I'm googling, they're not any better morally wise.
Oh yeah definitely not
But militarily competency wise
What can we say though, Europe is a mess, as it has consistently been for the past hundred+ years
Then here in America, we're having economic issues like we've had for hundreds of years.
And people shift the blame to whichever political leader is convenient even though its an issue thats blatantly been going on for ages and is no ones fault at this point
With a civil war also always on the brink
The world is wild
Well, in the current situation it's the fault of multiple issues.
From the faulty system we have in place that're as old as the U.S itself, and hasn't been updated for modern-times.
To the people too stubborn to want to change it due to being stuck to old ways.
To how current politics is about fame and money then it is about actually making sure the country has a future.
Then you didn't hear right.
Not Alexander's fault for not being able to predict we'd have moving metal instead of horses. But it's still a system that needs to be updated.
The system is faulty, due to its age. Not of how it was written.
Hey that sounds like a game i know
It's no one person's fault. Go to the past and those people did great things for their country back then, but screwed the future over. We are a globalised world with different ideologies and goals which will naturally clash.
And no one can predict the future.
Again, not Alex's fault that he didn't think of the future, and was trying to make a good system for the at-the-time modern day.
Thennn what about Ronald Reagan
What about him specifically?
I dunno i just know people don't like him or Richard Nixon
So hed be easy to blame things on
He's to blame for specific things that he legalized/allowed, sure.
But for the general viewing of America, no.
But he could be
It would only take convincing a few people its his fault for the mob mentality to start kicking in
Pretty soon it becomes a mandela effect
Radicalize the opinion
Boom we have a religion based on hating Reagan
Sure, but I'm speaking objectively, not subjectively.
A single person hasn't put us in the current situation we're in, that's 245 years of different viewpoints colliding with each other, each wanting their own laws and wars for either the betterment of the country, or for their own gain.
But objectively if enough people believe its his fault whos to say it isn't his fault at that point?
Its all a matter of what people believe
Then it's still not objectively.
Just because if everyone believed the Earth was flat, doesn't make it true.
But if everyone believes it whos there to say its not?
Like if a tree falls in the woods and no one is around to hear it does it make a sound
The competant people.
Cause you'll always have people questioning 'why?'
And once they discover the 'why' they'll know the true answer.
It's within human-nature to want to know and question.
Only takes one person to do so.
Same exact thing happened with discovering that Earth rotates around the Sun, not that everything rotates around Earth.
Just because we think it's his fault, it doesn't mean it is his fault. We have been wrong about many things in the past. What you are talking about is the philosophical aspect, of if it's not real to us, is it still real?
The answer is yes, it is real. If a tree falls down and nobody hears it, yes, it makes a sound. We just don't know it because we can't hear it. But all the animals in the area do, they hear it and scatter. The insects feel it, they make homes in it. The plants around lose a tree to be in symbioisis with. That tree falling is still real, and the sound it makes is too, simply out of our view.
Controlling of masses is due to spreading 'false' information.
Plagorizing, if you will.
Defamation, even.
Exactly
You'll usually have someone who is sceptical, and again, that doesn't make Reagan bad. It's just you manipulating how they think
But it doesn't make it true.
Cause all you're doing is having a collective mindset of a lie.
But hear me out
No
We do a little bit of trolling
Russia be like-
Oh the p word is blocked
Poopin should just take his shirt off and ride a bear like all the memes
He'd have my respect then, but only if he stays within Russian borders
Impossible
Hes like Rockwell
The confines of the simulation are getting too small for him
POOPIN 💀 🤣
Just like Rockwell, he's insane due to no one loving him.
Just like Rockwell, hes exterminated entire villages for fun
Rockwell at least had redeeming qualities.
Poopin, has no redeeming qualities at any moment in his life.
Aren't doomslayer and the dog from animal crossing canonically married
No.....
Are you sure about that
Yes.
I know my DOOM-lore
And it was a father x daughter relationship, not a marriage one.
"Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is delighted to announce the long-awaited nuptials between Mr. Doom Slayer Ripandtearington III and Ms. Isabelle née Shizue. The wedding ceremony took place during Smash Ultimate’s final content update."
Where was this?
Its from an article on the verge so that depends if you trust the verge or not
Also, DOOM-Slater ain't even his real name. 🦛
Isn't the Verge satire?
When you say Poopins real name accidentally in a super long message and it's now all gone
Well, you moved on to doom lore anyway
Okay, it isn't. But it's been known that most articles are written by idiots, so no.
Also, literally nothing else is saying this that's official.
The-verge, ain't official.
Like the point of the joke between DOOM x Animal-Crossing was due to both games coming out on the same day. So both communities got both of the most beloved characters and gave them a friendship akin to a Father x Daughter type, since the DOOM-Guy lost his pet rabbit, and Isabelle is a anthropomorphic dog. 🗿
Fair enough, thats one reason i was asking I thought the concept was odd
Nah, the verge is just built different
Sometimes you need a little bit of built different in your day to keep it spicy
Im gonna be so disappointed when they sprawll tas episode releases out across weeks instead of dropping it all at once
I know thats how series usually work but
God I hate that.
I enjoy binging a whole series then waiting
I want it all at once
Eh, not anymore.
Most popular animations drop the whole season at once
The worst part about watching the rings of power was waiting a week between each episode
Everyone else had their own opinions about it but the only part i had an issue with was Sauron being a greasy man instead of white haired elf
Anyways
Doctor Who solos all of Ark
End of story
The Farm is just The Island, and we're technically getting a revamped Island already anyways 😅
I think I remember an episode on a spaceship with a dinosaur, so he has experience.
you realized he is also the first ever corrupted human
The Doctor?
yep
The-Doctor isn't human......
/r woosh
Are you trying to make a poor David-Tennant joke, while not understanding 'actors =/= fictional-character?'
i have 0 patience watching the entire back catalog of Dr. Who since season 1
i am a person prefer watching shows since the begining to understand worldbuilding
Oh no, fair enough. It's a long-ass show.
Oh, wait.
Do you fucking mean the original series?!
i dunno man, i aint no expert
Show is separated into two series.
Old-who and New-who.
Old-who was the black-and white shit, that was the first 8-doctors.
New-Who is a reboot that requires no previous knowledge of Old-who, as it treats its audience as new viewers.
Does anyone understand how to decipher the code that runs vertically? The ones on the holograms in extinction, the ones on the bosses data panels, etc…
the Wiki has that for you
Does anyone know what website transelates them at least?
Yeah, on the wiki there's a translator.
It's homo-deus language.
Basically it's physical binary language.
OH damn. Alright. I appreciate it, mate. : )
Hang on, let me see if I can find the wiki page that has all of them already translated.
No need to bother yourself. I’ll manage. Lol
https://ark.wiki.gg/wiki/Ascension
The bottom has the translator, and further down has the translated text if you're having issues
Thanks, man. I appreciate that. 🥂
I never said which doctor 😎
True actually!
War-Doctor would probably have the easiest time.
Honestly, imagining all of the new-who doctors reacting to the ARK's would be interesting, if they didn't have their Tardis nor screwdriver, just their big-brains.
I think the screwdriver is exactly why he would solo
Or she
They
The doctor without the screwdriver and tardis is like hulk without hulk powers
Then you've never seen the episodes that he doesn't use their screwdriver.
Doctor is a Time-lord, the smartest species in the universe.
A screwdriver wouldn't help negotiations, or fighting against primitive weaponry.
But in terms of hacking into the ark and everything to do with Extinction
I believe there's been a few times that the Doctor couldn't hack or malfunction devices of civilizations nearly on-par to the Time-Lords.
I'd say god-like beings that the homo-deus are would be akin to this.
Nobody ever said that.
Is it not?
It's definitely not, seeing as it was transmitted to the citizens of Sanctuary.
No, it's just a way of writing in the future.
Seemingly formal.
That seems too smart for how newer generations are going down.
... what newer generations. All the URE is dead.
I mean real-life modern generations.
Uh, oh.
Tidepods
Anyways, no. It's not Homo Deus language.
It's just URE Calligraphy.
Don't think I've ever seen the Feds use it.
That's something I've always found interesting in sci-fi medias.
They don't really take generational differences into account.
It's mostly the same attitude, sense of humor, viewpoints, etc, as the creators have.
Only in the ARKs, Sanctuary, HomoDeus and HLN-A.
Welp, yet again. Something Bruise was wrong about
Since when did you take information from Bruise ??
Before you talked in here a lot.
When it was mostly me and him here for a bit.
Sorry to hear.
Dark times
Oh, by the by
The Tekxt in Sanctuary wasn't removed
It's invisible as the result of a bug
Which came from a performance fix
Okay, but that's bullshit, as they're just PNG's.
Had a modder friend look at it once, and there's nothing tied to them that'd impact performance.
Yeah, that's why it was a bug. They were affected, when they clearly shouldn't have been.
But WC hasn't fixed it, after years.
I did tell Jat about it, and he said he'd talk to the team, but...
When was that?
Well... are they there now?
They never left.
They function differently from the PNGs in Sanctuary. iirc they're actually 2D models.
So they weren't affected at all.
Interesting, cause whenever I go into the Hall-of-History, they're never there.
Can you show?
Last time I went there they were present
They're just really small
At least compared to the Sanct. ones
I have an active save on The-Island, I'm not going to go into gcm.
Night
I’m pretty sure it can be seen with the strider hacking if I’m not wrong
they treat it as a normal binary code like a Programmer would, not as a spoken language
You're right, that's a good catch.
First off, I wasn't "wrong", the very first set (third group near the dead Earth hologram, to be precise) of tekxt/homo deus writing/ascension text in the game that is possible to read (in the hall of history) mentions the Homo Deus for the first time, and it was/has always been assumed since that the Homo Deus knew and did communicate via the language when/if possible.
Otherwise, how did the tekxt get there? If all the humans were extinct so as to warrant the first few messages and holograms, who put it there/reported on the matter in question? The Overseer, most likely. Whom is a Homo Deus.
Secondly, if all you lot are going to do when mentioning me is belittle and demean me, don't fucking mention me. Thanks in advance ✌️
Where are the Sanctuary ones? Have hardly explored that area
They used to dangle from certain overhangs.
There was a kiosk with one, iirc.
But they were accidentally hidden as per a performance update.
are uploads and downloads canon
Transfering via Ascension is canon. But not via obelisks or drops
alright thx
We still can't even say for sure if drops are canon
Like sure they're a visual element but it feels like just another thing they thought looked cool
In the overseer area
Because i mean like theres like 6 tubes there you think they're shooting drops all over the ark?
And they're never once mentioned by anyone so
Hopefully ASA will help this.
ARK has quite a few continuity errors.
Hopefully with Wildcard knowing the lore-side of the game is worth putting money into. They'll make stuff like that more consistant.
They'll probably just redesign it and slap it in
Our best bet for getting a better idea will probably be TAS
Cave crates especially don't make sense to me
That's because they simply don't exist pre-Helena Deus, she does something to the Arks iirc, don't remember which note it's in but they are mentioned I'm pretty sure just like the respawn mechanic
I don't think drops are ever mentioned
She implemented tiny bits of code across the arks very slowly for respawn protocol, her implementing drops would involve an entirely new construction project on all the arks to implement the area the drops were created/launched from
Tbh ??? Note 15 is just a spoiler for ark 2
And so everything will end where it began. The planet, the System, your species and every bit of life that inhabits this tiny corner of the universe. All of it.
Then perhaps something new will begin, but that depends on you...and the forces that stand in your way.
In nature, the survival of one species can come at the expense of another. As ecosystems change, those that adapt more effectively can push those weaker than themselves to extinction. Humanity once did this to the neanderthals, and now it is finally your turn. At last, face to face from a superior threat, you and all your kin must answer that timeless question...
Will you survive?
The Arks have fabricators just as the ship does, really not all that far fetched either way. I wish I had time to scour the notes...
I just reread through ??? And one who waits and i didn't see it
I kinda skimmed though so
I stand to be corrected but i don't think they're ever mentioned
The only "gift" she mentions is the mega mek
She probably wouldn't want the ships fabricators wasting more resources on drops that it could be using to fabricate brute force meat shields anyways
I bestow upon you... 3 medium crop plot blueprints
Imagine that was her final gift to fight the king titan
Im still salty species r plants aren't defensive plants!
They had every reason to be the melee version of species x that could just whack people but they just decided to not do that
I think everyone would've liked that better than meat plants
Really hope they finish and implement the carnivorous plant seed that was taken out, which is what I think you mean
The r seeds were always just meat
That's not the same thing, even if it looks similar
But they c o u l d be
I also think making the experimental giga a temporary tame like a titan would've been the play
Those are a part of Rockwell, hence the whacking. The ones we get are disconnected from him and are messed with at a genetic level to be crops of meat
The experimental giga was honestly cool but would be best as a skin rewarded for beating the mission tbh, also no one can tell me that we shouldn't have got tameable tek gigas in Gen 1 space biome (I mean they literally exist in the code and have eggs and everything) and also got all the VR creature skins from various missions as rewards as well
Why not temporary titan experimental giga though
Because temp tames are cringe
A normal giga with an experimental skin wouldn't hit the same
Its not near as big and it wouldn't have the abilities
It may actually be near as big I haven't been near a giga or the experimental giga in a long time
It's barely any bigger iirc
But i think temporary tame you get from beating the mission on alpha would be cool
Its experimental so definitely highly unstable so it makes sense to be temporary out of the simulation
It wouldn't be too op
Let's uber gatekeep a likely busted temp tame for the sake of... a cool lookin, better giga. No thanks
Titanosaurs and titans are already gatekept hard enough
TL;DR, boo temp tames boooooooooooo
But cool giga temp tame
Titanosaurs are why i wanted the dreadnought to win
But people wanted the stinky raptor instead
Did they just forget a center vote or...
Perhaps, I hope they are just doing something sick nasty behind the scenes and are revamping the shit out of it and that's why it's been skipped over as it's later in the release timeline
We can dream
I also wanted dreadnought
It feels so empty as is
I wish people would stop suggesting gorgonops in favor of something actually cool
Its obvious it's never gonna win
Its been in like every vote... Its never happening....
The only thing i want less than the gorgonops is any feline
i love feline
People just keep suggesting cheetahs its not even any cool felines
man
I hate that they keep trying to pander to every player group with it, like, clearly not enough people care about gorgo, stop adding abilities just to get the popular vote or to get some youtuber to get his fanbase to vote for you
they should just tlc sabertooths and call it a day with felines
The cheetah sounded alright in the beginning, but then they changed it to be literally just a mana that can't fly... blech
I really liked the bastion beetle but I was okay with the however you spell it sky giga winning too
Bastion beetle would be hella cool for dogfights on less serious servers
Rhynio was cool when we were under the impression we could get females and breed it, but uh
Sky giga is just an attack helicopter that can get you pregnant
Still think beetle will go really good on either Ab or Val in the Ab zone
I think thats where the jumping spider goes
I could see the beetle in val but not in abb zone
The bola one?
I think so
I can see that, lots of things need to be bola'd in Ab
Whichever one was suggested for island that didn't fit the map very well
Not island
Scorched, oops
Im really glad fasola won scorched that was my vote
I can't remember my top, I think it was bastion, but that was my second and I'm very glad it won, looks great and fits the map well imo
I kinda dropped bastion once rhynio won i just wanted a new flying bug
I didn't like most of the options for the rag vote i hope the abb vote is better 😭
I think we could use some abb sauropods tbh
I still want more invertebrates 😅
So im hoping for a sauropod victory
Not enough inverts whatsoever
Maybe a competitor to the reaper
Make a love triangle between reapers drakes and whatever wins the next vote
A good sauropod would be nice too, but idk how I feel about it, the herbivores are pretty rounded out as is
Abb lacks a lot of big creatures
Anything messing with that side of creatures could be disastrous
I just want something big and i think a sauropod would fit that
Also I felt this, I think we've just reached vote fatigue and they need to give us a break in between
It's literally that meme
The yes babe meme
"Honey, new Ark vote is up! Vote NOW!!!"
Also kinda sucks with Aberrant Reptors being able dismount/pin small creatures still
Thats fine
They can dismount and pin literally anything is the issue
I remember meeting one on Fjordur and getting dismounted off my argy
Then an alpha carno ran up and ate me
I would enjoy a new relative around the size of a carno or allo ngl
Oh yeah the majunga was pretty high up for me
Yeah, majunga on Ab would fit
With it's whole proposed abilities and even just general look
Very Ab-like
Alright, well I gotta go, been a good chat! Gn fellers 😴
I didn't even read any of the proposed abilities ngl, like on any of them i voted last minute this time so i didn't care i just looked at the picture
Same I hope abb has some cool votes since abb is my favorite map besides center
I'll Riot if the center vote isn't a cool dino
I like the og maps equally tbh after abb is when maps fell off for me besides Valguero that's the exception the rest I kinda dislike
So hopefully the new dlc/any other mod maps that come out for Asa will be good
Gen 2 is kinda pve when it comes to pvp base spots
After Ab, all the DLCs/maps just start power escalating and power creep is real
Ab was just ... 👌
Perfect
Fr abb was perfect and agree about power scale when it comes to Paid dlc maps
Extinction wasn't bad
I think after Extinct is the downhill point
Even gen 1 wasn't that bad
Remove the element rocks and perfection
Gen 2 isn't bad for base spots either raiding in ark just isn't fun anymore
2016 big massive bases surrounded by gates was peak ark raiding
Eh for me it's the vibe of the map if the vibe ain't right then its not for me gen 2 has like 3 good spots besides vents and yeah land bases were peak extinction ruined that
Extinction was unique i liked that
Just like how abb was unique with no flyers
They kinda ruined that with maewings and bloodstalkers but eh
Ngl i don't like how the fasola dossier is written
I feel like there should have been more bosses on gen 1, I know that there are a lot of missions to complete and stuff, but it is supposed to be challenging, and I would have loved to see more cool bosses like Moeder, which had a fantastic model, and it was totally unique, I was just left wanting more.
There are, in the lore.
But Wildcard went past their deadline Rockwell deleted them from the Simulation.
Lmaooo
Wildcard needs to stay consistent once in a while lol
Yeah, there was one for each Biome, but Moeder was the only one smart enough to hide herself from Rockwell.
wouldn't rockwell want the bosses, it would slow down the survivor from being able to get out of the simulation
No, because he wanted total rule over the Simulation.
The Master AIs are sentient, and definitely wouldn't allow that to happen.
If anything, they would slow Rockwell down.
ahh okay
i have a crush on helena
She's taken
When did the corruption hivemind and titans emerge.
It has to be after the ARKs went into orbit and the Genesis ship left, right?
Ehhhhh yes but no, we don't really know exactly when titans started showing up, but we do know it was a race against time so it was probably actively happening while they were under construction
But it didn't get bad bad until after the launch as the last bastions of humanity fell etc etc
And most titans weren't as big as the ones we have
cap
she is indeed taken, and her life as well apparently
Why would you even have a crush on her shes dumb and annoying
Tbh they should've just made tas be a journal style account of the events leading up to "the end" with no humans being left on Earth
Maybe from someone inside Sanctuary even
Just like an account of when things happened, the first attack of the corruption, the first titan sighting, just little tidbits like that
Including stuff from the tekxt like arat prime going dark and whatever the overseer protocol is
Or dedicating it to Mei and Diana post extinction notes
The hivemind and the Titans formed towards the very end of humanity. There's no explicit date, but it's most plausible that, if not simultaneously/immediately, they appear soon after the Gen-Ship/ARKs are launched.
Thanks, it'd make sense they'd only appear after humanity left earth since the two superpowers could easily crush them if they had stuff like tek fighter jets and the manpower to make a spaceship bigger than some countries.
Maybe in their prime, but in the state they were at, it was Extinction.
See what I did there?
Wearing none
Yeah it would be cool to see the back story fleshed out more
Certainly would've caused less drama with the people having issues with the changes in TAS.
Something akin to what Edgerunner did.
Prequel story that's canon but has no effect on the games main plot.
Yeah thats what im saying, it would just be easier to write a prequel instead of writing on top of existing canon
Thats the issue im having with the fnaf movie and the trailers they've released
Hell, if they really wanted to. They could've made a literal Cyberpunk show, since for all we know, tek-civilization was crime ridden.
Why else would they need enforcers and defense units if it wasn't
Those where made during the Collapse.
who is the veiny person in the island cinematic
Bob?
Which one?
I mean which cinematic.
the intro
Oh, that's Helena
oh
/The-One-Who-Waits
then whos the one in the intro to scorched
Also Helena
ab?
Helena
EXTINCTION?
She's guading us through the ARK's
Helana
extinction isn't an ark
Helena
You should really read the notes
'The game'
Fucking better?
HLNA is part of Helena
HLN-A is the new guide.
everyone has a hlna
Not canonically
Theres only one of us in the simulation as far as we know
then who doesn't
The people that you don't see an HLN-A following
but i see hlna following everyone
No you don't.
You see the skin following everyone, which isn't canon
HLN-A as herself on the maps is client sided.
what about ragnarok
Not canon
They're called 'non-story' for a reason
The arks canonically could have all of us as the player, in the simulation there is one protagonist im pretty sure
There's multiple.
But only one person has HLN-A.
Which is in your perspective, you.
what about rockwell
You see at the end of Gen1 that there's people still sleeping in the simulation.
why isn't he in the intro
Cause he's not guiding us?
santiago?
He's dead at that point
Multiple times over.
I mean we don't necessarily know if we share our simulation with anyone else or not
also why is helena super vascular in the intros
Santiago is dead until the end of Gen2
The simulation Gabriel describes is very different than our simulation
The trait of becoming godlike
so she's a god?
No
It's the same simulation.
then why tf do i have to do all that bs of going through arks
or saving earth and shit
Semi.
She's a Homo-Deus, a human made out of nothing but energy.
Because thats important
Cause they're gods within their appearance. But not abilities.
The Gen Ship is just "just in case the ARKs failed"
Actually, otherway around
Except the ship was made first
Gen-ship was made before the ARK's.
Even proto ARK?
Yep
Gen-ship was intended to find a new home for Earth-life, while the ARK's where made as a backup plan to see if the corruption would die-down over time.
Weird what about that banners that said "on construction" on Ext before the performance update
Welcome to lore inconsistancy.
Tbh Gen made it inconsistent
Also, I could assume that banner wasn't updated for hundreds of years.
Yeahhhh
So maybe when it was made, it was under construction way before the ARK's.
I don't mind the sim being first tho
We also know Sanctuary was the last city on Earth. But we don't know if it was made for that reason, or if it always existed before the Collapse.
But not the biome in the ship
The more important takeaways from the banners are "rationing" "defensive barrier" "overseer protocol" and "arat prime has gone dark"
I think the idea was basically 'Skeleton of the ship was made, then the simulation, then the ship finished and launched. If ship never finds a new home, then the ship itself would become the new home via the simulation.'
Which does make more logical sense then the ARK's do in the sense of what we'd most likely would do.
Politics aside, humanity loves their planet. But if it did become irreversibly damaged, humanity first.
Except the Arks were made by the cyborg hippies so what makes sense is slightly different
I mean it makes sense to make a ship to preserve ourselves then to try to save the planet first.
The transhumans held different values 🤷♂️
🤦♂️
You're not getting what I'm saying
Apparently not
Is the then supposed to be a then or is it a than
Cuz im reading it as than
It's suppose to be in perspective of what 'we' in real-life would do.
.
I dunno we got some crazy mountain people in America
Theyd probably fight off the corruption on their own tbh
They're on about the same level as us in game
Until they got overran and converted.
Unless they don't
You don't know what a redneck gassed up on homemade moonshine can do
I do, actually.
From experience?
Yes
No, it involves a redneck getting into a car accident.
It could be like star wars
Drive a car warp speed into the king titan
Thats how we solve all the stories now
Lord of the rings fly an eagle warp speed into sauron
I don't get how ftl lanes actually work
Like i get they're preestablished lanes that are meant to be safe for hyperspeed but i don't get how they know they're safe
Isn't one thing about space its full of debris that makes a habit of just floating around
Yeah, but there's theoretical ways to counter this.
So like sure the lane is safe at one point but whos to say its gonna be safe at a later point
Space is rather empty so I'd say you got decent odds. I suppose a long enough lane would counter that.
Actually, half correct
Most "FTL" in most media is wormhole related anyways, so you practically jump from point a to b almost instantly, ignoring the space in-between
It's empty, but has a lot of debree that would causes issues in space travel.
Yeah but wormhole travel isn't really the same as ftl travel
At least by my definition
It is, by the definition, faster than light to practically teleport long distance, instantly 😅
I mean yeah but you just teleport you don't actually travel between point a and b you just get there
It's not quite teleportation, hence the practically
You still travel/drive through the wormhole as a physical object after the (insert various terminology) drive tears the hyperlane open in most cases
I just don't feel like wormholes are in the spirit of it
I play stellaris so wormholes and ftl lanes are two different things for me
I also play Stellaris, and that doesn't change the fact that there's two widely known (and different) forms of ftl travel lol
You're right with, Gen-Ship started construction, Gen-Sim started soon after- both coexist, the Genesis-Ship is finished, but lacks a destination due to time constraints, whereas the Simulation runs far less finished, also due to time constraints, as stated by HLN-A several times in Gen 1.
The last part is purely speculative.
Fair.
But I'd say that's a reasonable theory, no?
It's got as much base as the Engrams theory, do note.
Which is basically none.
My OWN personal hypothesis, is that if Arat didn't exist, the Genesis-Ship would've arrived back on Earth post Reseed.
The Ship looks for A habitable world- and Earth would be habitable.
True actually.
The crew, if they were alive in this scenario, would be so fucking confused.
"Something tells me this, is the weird part"
They do know that Element destroyed the Earth, but everything seems relatively hush-hush. It was taboo for Nida to even talk about the Homo Deus, let alone do research on them.
Yeah, so they might not even know the proto-ARK's went anywhere.
"Well we were supposed to name this place Arat, but this is Earth. We'll call it, Ear Rat."
I don't think the people on Earth would take kindly of aliens naming their planet.
Oh wait.
I don't think they know about the ARKs in general.
"Our ship holds the last archival specimens of life from Earth, and there's an extinction-level event in progress." - Nida
I'd assume there's information on the ARKs on the Ship, but it would probably be restricted.
True. Probably only for highest authority.
Knowing the URE and Feds
Yeah each side doesn't want anyone to know about the other
Yeah, they where allied. But I doubt tentions where fully gone.
They warred in the end.
HLN-A in Gen1 states that they went back to fighting over Element.
Right before everyone was wiped out.
Really now?
That seems.....out of character compared to the pre-genesis lore.
TLDR:
They fight
They team
They build it
Some leave
The rest stay
They fight
Everyone dies
Element is just that alluring, apparently.
I don't know. With Marcs original intention for corruption being a metaphor for oil refineries, and how governments fight over oil. Seems a bit weird for them to make peace, even ally, then go back to each others throats at the last second even when there's more pressing dangers.
Just seems weird.
Its kinda like Batman vs Superman
Much akin to Morbius, that was one of the movies of all time
There weren't pressing matters.
Everything was over.
The ARKs? Gone. Genesis-Ship? Gone.
Only those who were abandoned remained.
Ever heard of the Christmas truce of 1914?
Yeah, but how does that apply here?
If a band of soldiers from two opposing governments that hate each other can have peace over a human-made holiday. I don't think it's too out there to think they'd just be chilling with each other with the end of the world.
Not when the most potent Element in the entire known universe is at play.
I don't know man. Just cause soldiers follow orders, doesn't mean they share their leaders same political views.
And if they knew the world was ending and there was no hope for them, why would they try to fight over Element when it wouldn't do any good for them currently?
The soldiers refused to start fighting each other again so they were transferred elsewhere and the fighting started again
Correct.
But with a ending world. I don't think even soldiers would give enough fucks about their leaders political issues.
I think you misjudge the will of some soldiers
That could be why they were the remnants
They were so dedicated they refused to leave
Could be that.
Could be that the political leaders left on their respective ARK/ship and the leftover soldiers where the ones to start the fight again
Maybe they weren't fully aware what was happening
Tensions were already high evidently, people weren't happy with being cloned, those that knew about it at least, and we don't know about how many potential leaks there were concerning the matter with hackers like Santiago on the loose, Yong Ki went radical and bombed the ship they were still not on good terms
Just because they made peace doesn't mean they liked each other
Kinda like the cold war, we were at peace but were we really
How where nameless made
When a daddy nameless loves a mommy nameless very much
And they get to the point where they wanna take that love to the next level
Lol
Nobody knows, but most likely the Overseer of Ab created them as the punishment for the tek tribe ala the wyverns and mantis of Scorched
Is that what we're saying the mantis were now?
I always took it as just a horde attacking
The mantis have always been the Arks wanting the survivors to get up and do something
Literally just the "come on, do something" meme from the Overseer
Yeah but i didn't think they were exclusively for that
I thought they had been there the whole time they just got pissed because the overseer made them
I wanna put Helena in a vacuum
She 1000% could've done more if she didn't spend so much time thinking
Hell she probably could've created a program to make the megamek autonomous
The one who waits how about the one who gets off her rear and does something
How long did she waste making very temporary immortality that she could've used to make the big bad robot that can kill the king titan better at its job
She ain't no programmer
That is why
I mean she programmed the arks for the respawn protocol so
She only knew basic stuff from Santiago but beyond that, it's on her own
I doubt Santiago told her the entire coding of the megamek
She had god knows how long to figure out coding too like
Even if she wasn't able to she had quite literally nothing else to do
Who knows she just turned on/off the respawn and reseed protocol
No she created the respawn protocol from scratch
Proof?
Im gonna have to go find it in the notes hang on
???#8
As I've said, even digital creations are beyond my direct control. So it is with the System - these islands in the sky. I can speak with the the artificial minds that oversee their operations, but they have a will of their own. They too think, act and live.
So to change the system, my suggestions must be minuscule and their purpose masked. Incremental bits of code that are trivial alone, but substantial when whole. Thousands of puzzle pieces, scattered across these islands - these seeds in the sky - slowly coalescing and taking shape...
Until at last they formed you.
And what are you exactly? Once you break free, once you fall from the sky, I'll tell you your name. It will all make sense to you then.
One who waits #7
In experimentation, consistency is important. Repetition, patterns, causality, those are the tools that build results, even where death is concerned. One successful trial was not a cure. The circumstances could have been specific, impossible to replicate even for the same subject. So that first time, one second chance for just one soul was all I could promise.
Yet in orbit, I had subjects beyond counting. So I tested. Endlessly, I tested. So many trials, so many failures, but out of them rose another success. Then an entire generation of them. Then at last, you.
I don't know how long it took. Centuries? Millenia? Time was especially murky for me then, but I still remember all the souls death claimed - the ones that faded before I could reach them. Even when I tried and tried, I could not make them whole again, no matter the effort. No matter the desire.
There
Thats what i consider proof at least
Whered slow mode go i can send messages so fast now
Oh its back
Sad
It's the overseers helped out as well
I don't think the protocol is just "her work alone"
She is a biologist, she is no engineer or programer after all
Sure she devoted her remaining life as a HD to make the protocol a reality but she has to coax the overseers to help her
Or at least let her tamper the program
That was the point of her having to suggest lines of code so small and insignificant that the overseers wouldn't suspect anything
And would just implement it
May I reminded you that she learned some from Santiago WHILE they are in the Heart of the Station in Ab
She did not made the code herself
She just does some trial and error
There was nowhere else to get the code so she had to
The overseers weren't helping her
team rockwell rise

If I remember correctly...
Mazda is correct.
Helena couldn't actually edit the System directly- that's why it took so long for her efforts to come to fruition.
She would coax the Overseers over time, which slowly planted her ideas into their programming.
I mean im pretty sure the notes i sent talk about her slowly figuring it out on her own and having to suggest insignificant little lines of code across all the arks till they all came together and triggered the respawn protocol but what do i know
So basically, she had the idea. But not the authority to actually implement it?
So she had to convince the Overseers one bit at a time.
Yeah, pretty much.
But the "convincing" was just artifactual suggestions which overtime, became an action.
Right, more like feeding small bits of codes to the Overseers until 'they' did something with it.
I... guess that's pretty close.
Did I say something wrong?
Just semantics. She didn't feed them code. She fed them suggestions, which took root as code.
But that's just me being extremely picky.
I mean i don't see how you can implement a large amount of code very slowly over time with just suggestions
Unless those suggestions are just code
Otherwise how would she know the overseers would implement it correctly instead of doing it a different way that wouldn't all come together to do the respawn protocol
I feel like taking her saying she had to implement trivial amounts of code at a time across all the arks at face value provides a more logical conclusion
Helena is the reason Ark is a spaghetti code mess in need of a UE5 remake
Recent advances in ai should be evidence that this is possible
Yeah but like what is she possibly gonna suggest that isn't just a line of code
I just think its highly illogical to say she put anything except code in
She had hundreds of years with nothing to do besides run math and code in her head she probably picked up a thing or two
I don't see why this a point of contention, she literally says that she gave them bits of code at a time to implement that seemed insignificant to the Overseers but, in the grand scope of things, allow for the respawn protocol to be put in place... how hard is that to understand?
Davay literally posted the note word for word too lmao
"So to change the system, my suggestions must be minuscule and their purpose masked. Incremental bits of code that are trivial alone, but substantial when whole. Thousands of puzzle pieces, scattered across these islands - these seeds in the sky - slowly coalescing and taking shape..."
I get I've said a lot of wrong and stupid things before but she literally says it😭
Yeah idk what they're on about, you're right here because you actually deadass have the source right there in your message that backs up what you said 🤣
I don't even know what the argument is, but we have tech today that can write code from suggestions
It's not illogical, just not practical yet
The argument is did Helena suggest actual code or somehow not code
While we do have tech today, its very illogical and impractical to believe she was just telling the overseers "hey can you make code for this tiny little bit of this thing that will allow respawning survivors that has to come together with similar bits of code from all the other Arks"
Theres just absolutely no way she could do that while masking her purpose, it basically had to just be code
As she said about the errors in the system, a trickle quickly becomes a flood, those bits of code were a trickle and the respawn protocol was the flood
I wonder though, why didn't the overseers attempt to reverse the respawn protocol? Were they not aware it was happening? Or was it too late once it was set in stone so to say?
The argument in my eyes was, did she or did she not directly send code for the Overseers to implement, bit by bit. The obvious and resounding answer is... yes, lol
It started with mazda saying Helena didn't know how to code when i said she was lazy for not doing more
I think it's one of those things where the Overseers just thought it was a good idea because they technically implemented it
So they just left it in for pride's sake
They don't have pride though they're still artificial intelligence
Plus it let them keep testing on survivors to get them to the ultimate goal
They are not AI, they are Homo Deus bound to the material plane via a bio-mechanical/element based shell
Helena refers to them as artificial minds so
I know the homodeus are within but she also talks immensely about how they're all long faded and shes the only one left
Overseer are not AI, she is simply wrong in her understanding. The Homo Deus is still there, it's just stripped of all emotion as they become over time, like Helena herself does eventually. She puts her emotions (and therefore personality) into HLN-A so as to preserve them
Back to good ol number 8
As I've said, even digital creations are beyond my direct control. So it is with the System - these islands in the sky. I can speak with the the artificial minds that oversee their operations, but they have a will of their own. They too think, act and live.
So if their emotions have faded they can't feel pride, right?
Sure, I guess. But even low level programs can be proud of their work in a universe with biomechanical constructs, I'd imagine. And she says they think act and live, so it's safe to assume they have basic needs and personalities, and by basic I mean like down to the core tenets of their being and purpose
(Which is to produce humans strong enough to inhabit a never-going-to-be-fixed Earth)
But it's an important distinction that the homodeus serve as a power source now, nothing more, they rely on the "flawed proxies" as they are unable to do anything else
Helena also mentions their souls "turning to smoke" so basically, they aren't them anymore, they're just a battery
Which is definitely unethical but
No, they're still "alive", just in such a baser function type of way so as to not be considered "life", if that makes sense
Its like the episode of Doctor Who where they have all the artificially grown people in the basement of the hospital to cure all the diseases
Not exactly but similar enough
Except the Homo Deus aren't skinvelopes and this isn't Doctor Who or that other show that did the same thing that I can't remember the name of
But close enough, you get the gist
Its similar in the way that they have been reduced to the point of being "livestock" and are only serving as means to an end
Yeah, their baser functions
Like air, seeing as they aren't a physical object
Yeah but you could definitely still get a taste
A taste of air, but sure
You can taste electricity
They don't even exist on our plane of being as we know it
But Helenas there
Electricity is a physical object, though
I just wanna take a bite out of Helena
Yeah, by sheer force of will
Not the human part but like her arm
Why does she still have a human head
Thats always been weird to me
She's an energy being, she can look like whatever she wants lol
But it looks weird
I think it was a poor design choice
Im just gonna like put a cloth hat with the homodeus skin on her head next time
Imagine ark vr with interactions like skyrim
Just like grabbing Helena's face and slapping her around
Lame
Wouldn't it suck to be a homodeus like miserable
That's exactly how Helena describes it.
Isolated and alone, at least for her.
Since everyone else was a lifeless husk by then.
They also seem to lose most sense of emotion.
It's exactly why eren Yeager went off the deep end being able to see the past present and future all at once is insane
Knowing everything seeing everything would make you insane
Uma was completely dispassionate as a result of her Transhumanism, only showing true emotion after saying goodbye to Santiago. Helena also talks in a relatively dispassionate way until the Extinction Prologue, where she concedes that she's still Helena Walker.
You can even tell in her voice, as it switches from an echo to her normal voice.
Which I assume was a sort of 'last understanding she's still who she is' before being yeeted back to whatever dimension she goes into at the end.
Homo Deus can handle it, not that it's necessarily 'comfortable' after a time. The constant stream of information though, is what makes them husks of their former selves.
Oh, by the way. Did you see that they changed the MCM's voice in the Switch trailer?
Motherfucker sounds goofy now.
"Prepare to be deleted :D"
I need to show you something.
Show.
As you're watching that, I'll explain.
I knew this
But they didn't change the boss lines until now.
Oh, okay.
And they added more reverb for some reason, to the point you can't even tell it's Tennant in the trailer.
I have nothing to explain, then. I'd assume they'll change it across all platforms at some point.
Probably when ASA comes out.
In an unannounced update, probably.
Tennant adjacent?
I like his note voicelines. But the voice-line at the end of the trailer sounds fucking dumb.
I wonder if that's just a trailer thing
don't why they'd mess with the voice lines
To make it more in-line to the story I guess.
He sounds dumb anyways. Tennant's extremely giddy in Gen 1, for some reason.
Yeah, Gen1 Rockwell isn't the best.
Aberration Rockwell though? Pretty damn good.
Yeah, bit of an odd choice for Rockwell. Not what I'd imagine his voice to actually sound like. No shame on Tennant, he's a great actor and VA
But all I hear is the Doctor 😂
Tennant is fine for Rockwell, the issue is how overly comedic he is in Gen1
Cough, Wildcard's hit-or-miss VO directing, cough.
Yeah, the casting is fine. It's the shitty directing that's the issue.
Yeah but the switch is meant to be a direct port
So you think they'll change it in ASE?
ASE isn't getting any more updates, so I doubt it.
It'll probably be his lines when they remake Gen1 in ASA.
"I've been watching Survivors drown in the Ocean Biome!!! 😜 😜 😜"
Which is kind of weird with the VO directing.
In stuff like TAS or the Gen2 announcement trailers, the directing is good.
But then you have odd moments like Gen1 that's just shit.
The only re-VO'd HLN-A Discovery I explicitly like is the last one, about his control over Gen 1.
If you ever need to read an elder scroll you know who to call
Gen1 HLN-A feels fucking dead inside.
She's good in Gen 2, though. Even though her part was butchered.
Man, why can't we get the old actress back.
Shes just useless for most of gen 2
Shes just like an amazon drone trying to get you to buy things
Erm, because she isn't Australian, and a non-Australian mimicking an Australian is extremely racist! ☝️🫠
Speaking of which why the hell does she make us pay for things
No one else is there and theyd probably rather us use the supplies to save the ship than not
But.....Australians are nationality....not a race?
Australians are just British people on a budget
So are us Americans.
Except we're superior
That's....not saying much.
But its still saying something
I always hated that logic they said.
Do they not understand the point of voice-acting?
You're 'acting' a role.
Doesn't matter what your sex, gender, or race is. If you sound the part, you get the part.
I meant offensive, but whatever gets the point across. 😭
I still don't understand how that's offensive.
Mimicking an accent.
That's literally acting though.
If its the same language its not offensive
I never said I agreed with their logic.
I'm not saying you do.
FR
Did they say it was offensive?
I'd take this HLN-A over the old one, unfortunately.
Old one was unbearably annoying, new one is postmenopausal.
Id rather take no HLN-A
The old one had natural lifeness to her role.
If they redid her lines to be more energetic, then I'll accept her.
The new one has early onset dementia
Can ppl stop blaming actors and voice actors for stuff that's outta there control like bro common man I'd they do a good job idc
No like actually, because she doesn't mention the Genesis-Ship until the Ascension, and claims that Earth is still dead.
We're not?
Don't think he's saying we are.
It was a point abt what you said I'm agreeing with you
The old one also has dementia actually
Most of the glitches were the same across biomes
She just repeated it over and over
She's unbearable
But still, the whole 'needing to be the same nationality as the character' for acting is fucking dumb.
Like no one (hopefully) unironically thinks Timmy Turner is a 12 year old child voice-acting, and not a 40-ish year old woman.....
Actually, there might be a lot of people who think the former.
Writing "An Incorrect Summary/Review of ARK: Survival Evolved", and HLN-A’s whole bit is that she just gaslights the Survivor.
I wish Rockwell would've taken over HLN-A
I've made a RCK-WL design, actually.
Man, they really need to redo Gen1's story, and her role in Gen2.
ASA is the potential that they may.
They should add corrupted guardians to the gen 1 biones
Doubt they'd touch Gen 2. Gen 1 maybe.
They said they're redoing stuff throughout the 'whole' game.
Especially with the new ASA assets already looking better then anything from the two Genesis maps had.
They probably already gave us the list of what they're redoing
Which the only important thing from that list is baby dinos
'Wild' baby dinos
Back to lore
I do hope the crossplatform mods work well, that'll be the biggest thing for ASA imo and also Master Controller does sound goofy in the new trailer, but I think it's fitting compared to the ridiculously gruff old one that was super over serious
Rockwell is insane, after all
Crazy? I was crazy once, they locked me in a room, a rubber room, a rubber room with rats, and rats make me crazy
The rats weren't real.
You're not real
Hey
Someone knows how tall are the titans?
(The more exact, the better)
at least 10 feet tall
Very big
wich ones
assuming walls are 1.8-1.9m tall, ice titan is roughly 54-57m tall
king titan is somewhere over 100m tall based on comparison to other titans
other than that i dunno. i wish we got hard numbers like that because i'm the kind of nerd that likes to know the height/weight of things in game
Remember the ingame sizes are nerfed compared to in lore
yes but it's the only way to get numbers most of the time
Anyways thank you!
Taller then a newborn
Why can't i buy dlc for my friend?
how dare you say dat
Because im big brain
I mean, he's not wrong though
Australia was initially literally that, since they don't fund or manage their prison colonies very well whatsoever (hence the budget part)
Also to bring up the old point of that convo, no, it isn't racist to voice an accent if you aren't that accent's originating nationality, and I also liked the old VA for HLN-A more, at least for the Gen 1 notes
Like he's literally right.
Australia started as a prison-island for British prisoners (even though it's a fucking continent)
I still hear her when I think of the Extinction Ascension. She had a bit more expression
Yeah, far more expressive and cheery sounding, like I expect an AI with a ditzy scientist lady's personality to sound. I was fine with the re-do of the Extinction ascension in particular, because I expected, you know, an emotionless Homo Deus. Even the notes were... fine, passable even. But, I think HLN-A herself should've been left alone as it was supposed to be her straight-up personality, distilled into an AI, and I expected her to sound a certain way in my head by the way the notes were written (and I assume plenty others did, too.)
When it comes to the ascension voice I don't exactly care for law accuracy, the old voice just sounded better even if a homo deus may be more emotionless. The lore is cool but I'll easily take better quality over lore accuracy
Fair enough, it may even be a smidge more accurate to say that, in her temporarily "human" (as in, literally just her head) form, she may have been feeling a little like her old self and it fit to have the old voice then, too. At least it's all still on Youtube, I guess! 😅
I feel like we're heavily overestimating how fast Helena would disappear
Like the others faded because they were being used as batteries
Helena hasn't been doing much, the biggest draw on her energy would've been making HLNA
And travelling to the ship, and/or whatever else she needed to go back to Earth to do after Genesis
Depends I guess on how much power it took from her to create HLN-A.
I don't think she herself ever actually went to the ship
Also true
I've never seen HLN-a charge so
But then when she says "she knew"
Why are we referring to Helena in the past tense
🤷♂️
Imagine if they actually explored concepts instead of just opening more and more concepts up and just leaving them open
Hoping the new ASA dlc will either cover what happens to Mei and Diana or cover what happens to Helena
Like the system is dead once the arks reseed so she has no power i don't know why she wants to stay
How do you think Rockwell would feel about Jorts
He'd love them
Freedom of movement, pockets big enough to hold some element to obsess over, made of fine jean material, the whole package
Jortwell
Ark 2: The Rise of Jortwell
I think we've found our subtitle, ladies and gents
Jortwell would have a fanny pack too
Are you calling his legs his pasty whites?
how did helana and rockwell and mei yin and all the survivors get onto the arks? like how did they get there
Cloned bodies with implanted memories from their past lives
Cloned on the ARK's.
I wouldn't say cloned on the Arks
More of Grown on the Arks
The mind was cloned long ago when they were building the database
The body is just a fleshy flash drive
I hate that you said it, but it's not wrong
Which the body is a replica of their previous selves....sooo.
Still cloned on the ARK's.
I don't think the specifics matter that much, fleshy flash drives are going to work just as well regardless if they were bought at ArkMart or AratBuy
Yeah but like you don't clone crops you grow them
And thats basically what the people on the arks are
Crops/livestock
Its like a wannabe Matrix
(I've never seen the Matrix i just know about the meat fields)
Matrix was more about harvesting humans for power after the fall of civilization, so a fair bit different
Actually, I believe the term for cutting off a leaf and replanting it 'is' cloning
As it is a replica being grown.
Which is I believe what the definition of cloning is.
"A clone is a plant grown from a cutting from another plant. It is genetically identical to the original plant (commonly known as the parent plant or mother plant). Plant cloning is a common method used to produce a large number of plants with exactly the same characteristics."
So yeah, clipping a leaf and replanting it is, in fact, cloning.
And like Zen said, the Matrix doesn't really grow humans. They're using already existing humans that they basically kidnapped, and put them in a simulation to harvest them.
No form of replication involved if I recall.
Uh, no?
Babies are born and inserted into the Matrix immediately
Machines grow them with the plugs in their heads - that's why 'true' humans from Zion don't have plugs and can't get into the Matrix
It's been years since I watched the movies.
Anyway, point is that it's still cloning on the ARK's.
Yeah but like ruined futuristic world with growing humans
Similar concepts
Well, in the Ark's if you'll recall, they aren't genetically identical, they're modified to have stronger immune systems and such to give them the best chances of surviving
So technically it isn't cloning
I still think it isn't really cloning to begin with as much as it is just plugging data into an artificially grown flesh drive, but using that definition it wouldn't be cloning
What comes close to cloning isnt until Helena creates respawning
But even then id say thats more like attaching prosthetics than cloning
More like genetic engineering
Oh my gaaaaa
Imagine they remove Dossier Notes in ASA
And replace them with Creature taming
Like how they deal with the newer Creatures
This would leave strictly lore-related Explorer Notes scattered across the Maps
Imagine if the notes actually gave you an order to follow instead of just scattering them across the map
You get like a rough direction sometimes but usually it doesn't tell you where the next is gonna be
Or the order is set and just always unlock them in order. Like, first Helena note location will always be Helena 1, 2nd always Helena 2, ect
Nah, that'd break immersing for certain Notes
Like the ones in the TEK Cave
Or Helena's in the Tomb of Ascension
Okay, but why is Helena note 1 in the ocean?
-Record scratch-
Yep. That's me. You might be wondering how I got myself into this mess ...
Whator
Ello I am unde de wata
Pleas help me
Blublbublbu
Waltuh, you need some watue, or else you'll die.
I don't think any sense of immersion comes from the notes to begin with, most people don't even pay attention they just want the experience boost
But maybe if each note came with like a map that led you to the next note or something at the very least so you can have a sense of direction if you're trying to follow them even though the current locations make almost no sense
Hey
What's your favorite thing about all of ark lore?
What's the thing you are most excited about, the part that you know the most about, anything.
Given how grim dark the lore actually is
I think gatorade should be chunky
Meiana drives me crazy
i like how over the top badass they make mei yin. solo tamed a giga with no trap, KO tamed a rock drake, and practically solo'd the king titan
Ko taming a drake?
Clearly she has dev commands
I love seeing the connections between tribes and trying to understand the geopolitical aspects that bring them all together
The part when Helena DIDN'T kill herself.
Also pre-ARK lore.
We need more pre-ARK lore.
Pre ark lore? Where?
Tbh all I know pre ark is that some people built the arks and the idk name ship to preserve life and make people ready to return to earth, and that there was a war
Oh boy
Oh boy what?
please, no
Why?
It's a mysterious era
of course, I don't want more lore on it purely because of personal reasons, but essentially, it's a mysterious time that is interesting because of just that, it's mystery
Break the shroud and it becomes less special
But its not a mystery
Its a mystery if a mystery is a story with an annoyingly low amount of details
Hang on a minute...
Fuck it, let it be less special.
I wanna know more about the politics during that era.
Or how crime was with a society dedicated to an alien resource.
Ya for real. I didn't really like that they chose that to be the way that she died.
If i had a nickel for every time a lesbian has died and came back in ark, id have like 6 nickels, which isn't a lot but its odd that it happened that many times
Was helena always lesbian? Like in the notes?
As someone who isnt 2 into ark lore
This was new for me until animated trailer released
Never stated her sexuality.
So anything could be canon with that.
It was never stated in the notes but afaik it was established out of canon by Wildcard quite a while ago
There was the one person who came in here complaining about Mei being lesbian because it "wasn't realistic" without doing any research about how homosexuality was a big part of ancient Chinese culture
That was funny
I don't recall anything about Wildcard confirming Helena was gay beforehand.
I believe TAS was the first time it confirmed her sexuality.
Pisswell

when did Helena die?? I thought she lived 😭
We literally have a flying orb in gen1-2 called helena i believe
yeah but that’s not from her dying
All Survivors are clones of long-dead humans.
That's HLN-A, an AI made with a fragment of Helena’s personality.
Im making a novel about the Game and its lore
So maybe ill talk here to understand things better if i misundestood something
Anyone knows how Helena became HLN-A?
If you want to help i have a server about It. I Accept criticism, ideas and all kind of help
She made HLNA and transferred her personality into it
Technically "not turning into HLNA"
