Sh you know what they has to deal with Argys
So the ark went from big chicks
To fire breathing lizards
Gtg bye
Sorry
The worse thing they dealt with before where mantises.
Which are a bit more of a threat in-canon then in-game, since they have almost human intelligence.
call it moral until you find the glitch about the poor people who got stuck in an endless death
Skill issue
Also, it's literally in the name.
It was a 'glitch'
A unintended system that went wrong
The extinction chronicles actually makes me wonder
Helena claims the system has existed for eons
Does that imply its been billions of years since the tek war or am i just heavily mistaken on what an eon is
The System has existed for eons. Considering all the variables, it has adapted well. Much like you, it has toiled to reach its goals, and it has overcome many obstacles. However the scale is larger. The struggle is longer.
In organic beings, age can slow reflexes and dull thought. Not so with the System. The speed and efficiency of its calculations are not in doubt. One could argue they’re the problem.
If a function has a 0.001% chance to cause an error, but it’s only run a dozen times, an aberration is unlikely. But a trillion times? Then it’s inevitable. More time, more errors. A drop turns to a trickle. A trickle to a flood.
As I said, everything is finite. The System is no exception.
Eons just means 'a very long time ago'
A few thousand years can be an eon.
Since the Sun is still it's normal size (from what little we can see) I'd say it's more a few thousand then billions of years.
thousands of years sounds accurate as far as the story goes, since there's still human ruins on extinction
Well, we don't know if tek 'can' even rust or decompose.
Since Wildcard has stated it's "the strongest substance in the universe" during Gen2's marketing, I would say it could probably withstand the planet being destroyed.
well, there's definitely plenty of human structures rusting and decomposing
Hell, Aberration crashed, sure. But it's still in better condition then our ships that we've launched in real life after crashing.
plus the plant growth in Sanctuary
it's overtaken things but not completely covered everything
Probably after a few billion, I can see the Earth just swallowing the ruins due to the crest moving and stuff.
But again, they're in a lot more better condition then if our buildings where to go unmaintained for a few thousand.
We don't know how it was 'pre' dead though.
Since there's no definitive location for Extinction. It could've been near the ocean, or somewhere moist.
yeah
i've gone outside the boundaries on sp and wow it's actually HUGE
like that huge crater you see from the desert cave could fit the Extinction boundaries about 10 times over
was kinda sad after finding that out, they kinda shorted us on map size
There's a lot of cut content for Extinction.
Free roaming titans😒
Obviously there's the volcanic wasteland we never got from Aberration, then there was going to be a legit bog-like biome.
Seemed like the Titans where originally going to be grappable, and you could climb on them.
It was never really stated to my knowledge but it was definitely implied from the teaser
In the notes it was
They canonically where always on the map, hunting the group
Yeah but like in the teaser the compass starts screwing up then the ice titan just comes over the ledge
I think the map could've stood to be like double as big... Or at least like the important parts
They put far too much wasteland
The area where the wyverns and gigas and stuff spawn is pointless no one has any reason to be there ever
It would've been cool if you had to like descend into the crater to fight the king titan or something
I love the open world boss fight thing they tried but it was implemented so poorly
Actually, that's a great hotspot for XP
yeah the ramp up to the king titan fight is neat, i like the idea of marching an army up there through the gauntlet. but it's rendered entirely moot because the map also added cryopods
No one ever does that they just kill corrupted spinos in the hotsprings or they go to abb and kill spinos
i go there to farm a bunch of corrupted hearts
You say that, but a few people in Journey's Core did that, and some people in my old server did that as well.
Neds server.
the OSDs are good for hearts, but sometimes you don't have any red ones and you're not ready for purple
I don't think you can ever be ready for purples
Unless you have official Gigas that do a trillion damage
Skill issue
i have a carch right now that solos purples
at full bloodthirst it does about 13k each hit
I would only use a giga for that
Wildcard: "nah, we're not making a creature to outrival the Giga. We're trying to make a creature that's onpar to the giga"
-Proceeds to make the Carchar literally better in everyway then a Giga.
I also haven't played extinction since like a year before carchs at least so im still in the era of making a shield wall of gigas around the drop
its not better in every way lol not even close
the carch is slower to start than the giga
I also implemented some metal spike walls to surprising effectiveness
base stats the giga completely outclasses the carch
But the Carchar doesn't have the stamina of a 5-year old
true
Or the temper of a 5 year old
Except speed and rage
Correct, but give the carchar time to get it's bloodrage to max, and it's damage is onpar.
Greater even
plus faster, tighter turn radius, more stamina
Only reason why Giga's are still used, is cause they've been mutated to the ground for 7+ years.
Carchar's have only been recently added.
A capped carch is better at things like osds and meat runs, a giga is best at a fob
Probably
and bloodrage boosts health regen
So yeah, a bloodraged Carchar is better in almost everyway then a Giga
You can't deny the effectiveness of a giga
I can when I have a Carchar to trade for.
I mean, yes I can
Especially since bloodrage is very situational
giga is easier to tame
That is not true in the slightest
Sure, but it doesn't have half as good of stats that a Carchar does when raged.
I'd say the harder taming is much more worth it.
Giga only has one area it excels at now, and that is giga rushing a fob. And even then it'll only be slightly better than the carch
giga is just trap and drug
Carchs just take a single baby rex and youre done you just have to kill things and roar which you can just use more unclaimed baby rexs
i dunno if it was server settings but it took me months to tame my first carch
To be fair, this can't be done in PvE
yeah
Skill issue
Pve taming a charch is worse by far than pvp taming it
Settings issue
and now they made it so you can't feed it while it's trapped? or did i hear wrong
Cause at least you can use your own children in PvP to tame it.
It's like leveling up.
In PvP, you can just farm baby giga's for a tame to kill.
In PvE, you actually have to go out.
You can its just sometimes their agro is dumb and you have to leave render to fix it
ah
They did, but it only half works
There is nothing moral about ark dinosaurs it consists of inbreeding and murder
when i tried in my last server, i could get to like 80% tamed, then i'd have to do the trust feed again. but at that point the food had dropped below 50% and it ignored any corpse i brought to it
I am looking forward to dinos in ark2 avoiding traps
Yep.
And?
Captain fatdog is gonna make some mega traps
Exactly who cares about murdering your own children
i have never wanted to toss my laptop across the room so much as when i got a 150 carch to 92% tamed, and then it became untameable
i stopped playing for a week after that
It was in promo material, pretty sure
ah yes then we got the tek strutres that can be destoryed by an angry centipeed
To be fair, that's some corrosive acid
planet destrution mate
think it might just top corosive acid :)
think it would have been a cool game mecahnic where tek wepions dont work agesnt corupted dinos
To be able melt human skin in seconds?
Yeah, that shit is even more lethal then Sulfuric acid.
because the element would be sentient and not wanting to damage its self in a differnt form
would make end game harder but man its extionion
Not how that works
this is ture
though element was a hive mind?
If I shoot a human with a cannon that has a human in it, it'll still fucking kill them
Yeah, just read them a story about people 😂😂
the person beng amo or the target?
Both
true both would die
Shooting a target that's human would kill both the target and ammo.
but if we assume that elemnt is both senitant which we know to be true
I thought my joke was funny
Also, it's only liquid and corruption that's sentient.
Refined shit is in a dormant state.
and that element can adampt
What joke?
Guess not 😭
Really sorry my mistake i was unawear there was a differnce in sentiance
This one. Because you said canon, not cannon
Nah, it's cool. That's my fault for not saying
so let me see if i have this correct the liquid element
I will eat you.
like the suff that flows in aberation
To be fair, I get peeved when people use 'cannon' instead of 'canon' and the otherway around.
So I guess this is my Devine punishment.
You already do, without trying
Same
what?
Nah, I just edited one of my posts
ah
Don't lie.
You also feel the same
but i do think it would be a cool thing to se eyou know
you try and use your big tek gun to kill a corupted alpha
and it jsut refuses to fire makes no lore snse
and lore is more inportant then the rule of cool
but i think its a neet idea
ok heads up i cant spell to save my life
so sorry in advance
I've noticed
Nah, that's not for you
That's just for anyone in general.
is that generl like "in general wolves like to hunt deer" or general like the chat?
...what?
in what sense are you using the word general in that sentense
general like the normal word or general as the name of the chat in this server
In a normal sense
ah cool
thanks
man i want to play SE AB or EX but i feel i need to beet the islandfirst
becuase you know doing stuff in order
ah well somthing to look forward too
sadly i dont think there is an easy non cheating way to speed run the island
Be good
ha ha four years
i dont thnk im good, A I am consetly conserned for losing my dions so i next to never go in caves and when i do they dont come with me
Well, caving alone is a brave experience
For caving we (my friends and I) usually use direwolves cus they are strong and some for pack bonus then it's not that hard
For underwater some basilos
How did Helena kinda get to the colony ship
I know she dident fully but we have us the robot
?
She went like us through arat prime I think
Then she left hln-a there and left
Also HLN-A is just Helena without the e's
wounder why she hated the e's
HLNA: im not really Helena
Here’s a question, who was the OG boss of aberration before Rockwell?
We don't know.
If you mean guardian-wise.
Damn
Yeah
Yeah, we don't know
Darn
Sadge
Smadge
It might have been another oversear because diana mentions "it" with sphapeshifting abilities
i think they might have ment, the absreation euvilent of say the broodmother or dragon
That's again, an Overseer.
We where talking about guardians.
would be nice to know
i imagine they're in smaller sections within the ark itself
either in the chunk of rock the ark is built around, or maybe in the arms that come up from the sides
You can literally see the outside of the ARK
It's just one big rock
I would assume that each ARK is the same aside from the land mass it carries
You would literally see the arenas in the path that leads to the overseer
hmm. actually i wonder if the boss arenas are actually localized versions of the genesis simulation
random thought
but for the arenas, they're not that big compared to the ark itself
so there's plenty of space to hide them away, and we see from the extinction proto-arks that they can make an area look MUCH bigger from the inside looking 'out'
By the looks of how the "hall of history" works
The arenas are very small and you can view them from there
you can at least see images from them
i mean they already did use the Assassin's Creed 'dna memory' thing
oh ya they did dident they i dident notice that
They are not images, if they did they would've been project like a hologram
I could be wrong... I'll check The Island Tek Cave later
which i guess is... kinda plausible, given the tech they're working with? theoretically a quantum supercomputer with enough processing power could look back in time and piece together what exactly happened
but that's the point you get into the super high end scifi rigamarol
No, the Overseer is made from people
the overseer is a homo deus iirc, yeah
“Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.” - Arthur C. Clarke
yeah
rigamarol?
oh ya thats osmthing that always stumped me what is homo deus?
misspelled, rigamarole: a long and complicated process that is annoying and seems unnecessary
ah cool new word thanks
a homo deus is a human that has evolved into a higher state, a-la the Ancients from stargate or the Q from star trek
they're kinda intentionally vague on how it's done
and evolved is a misnomer on my part, more Ascended
ah just creat
from what i gather it's a human that has ascended past the need for a physical body, becoming a being of energy with the thinking power of a supercomputer
but ofc i could be wrong
Thats kinda it, also homo deus can operate the arks
But yeah is still pretty vague, same as alot of other stuff
it's one of those settings where i wish we had hard numbers and data
i'm the kind of nerd that would want to know exactly how big the Arks are supposed to be
i supose we could work it out
at least the size of the playible map
i wounder if we could work out its diamiter then use pixle mesermwents for the rest using it as a bench mark when we see it form space
the island is 40 square km
we coudlent work otu stuff like denisty with out knowing its composistion
though i don't know if that's landmass or if that's the entire area of the map including the ocean
but we might be able to get a size working on teh assumeton that is simetrical
from what i rember is the force feild on the island is the outher side of that not space
do we have the square footage of SE?
i've seen the area numbers for Island Center and Ragnarok
Center and Rag share the same as the Island because these mod maps used The Island as a template like any modded maps
Se is roughly the sake size as the island
But rag is bigger than the island
Fair enough
Also there is no mention of barriers in SE notes but instead they use Death Worms like the sharks in GTA if you go beyond the game border
Canonically yeah, but Bob is such a beast that they had to make barriers
Bob aka us doesn't exist in the time where the notes are made
True
This makes me think the ARK are way bigger than what is portrayed in the game, given they are equally sized in the Ascension
Yeah, that seems a reasonable assumption
Go to the dev kit
we have a dev kit?
For ark1? Yeah....
well thats amazing
It's been out like 8 years. That's where all the mods come from
Yerp
right so there is or was a planrt from which the element camr
we had a space ship
we shoul dhave found the planet
ok maby not with the same ship but we should have used somthing
Play Genesis-2
?
We see multiple planets that have Element in Gen2
Yeah something that endlessly replicates itself tends to do that
The thing is it's hard saying how old element actually is
So we don't know where it potentially could have come from
My bet is that it comes from arat
Sadly thats probably gonna be the case
I mean, it makes sense, because Rockwell is element based and he picked the planet to go to
The Aratai or whatever the species there is called probably used to be insanely advanced until some element based catastrophe sent them back to the stone age
Kinda like the orks in Warhammer
I use that reference very lightly because it is quite drastically different than the orks but still, they used the be basically gods because they were intelligent and anything they thought came true then they just became stupid so they can only think of stupid stuff
Like painting cars red makes them go faster
And i think they paint rockets yellow to make them have bigger explosions? Im not sure on that one
Depending on how you look at the genesis 2 notes and how much you trust Gabriel, its entirely possible that element was at least on Earth since Roman times
That probably would be a good thing to ask if they hold another q&a thing- like how long element had actually been on Earth
And if Gabriel was wrong why he misidentified a violet substance which as far as i know element is the only thing close to-
Actually, I don't think he picked it
The colony-ship was already trying to find a habitable world.
Rockwell was just planning on taking over whatever planet it found.
Technically he didn't not pick it either
Silence
He could've easily just made the ship not go there
He....he literally doesn't have control of the ship?
Why will you eat a fucking dear is the real question
That's our whole point.
Is to make sure he 'doesn't' take control of the ship
I dunno about you but my point is now to stop you from eating a deer
I'll eat an axolotl instead of you do.
Go for it
Go for the deer?
Alright.
No the axolotl
Nah, you already gave permission
I gave permission for the axolotl
That sounds like a good time
It's over Anakin i have the high ground
this is some weird lore

Why is that emoji called deviousg
What does the g stand for
It simply makes no sense
g is short for grin probably
oh
The person is obviously names Gertrude
You're obviously named Gertrude
Gladiatrix, the character from the animated series, of whom those are
Deer is really good. I actually had some yesterday
Deer jerky is good
The deer already is dead
Never had it tbh
For now
Weird to describe.
H-h.....how can something be dead 'for now'
It's fucking dead?!?!
It's going to be cloned like survivors in ark.
Maybe deer are actually what saved the arks
You don't wanna know
A little bit of magic
Maybe a monkeys paw
That monkey paw will also be eaten by me
Sounds crunchy
oh so its like a graby alien?
where ever it comes from would likly be effeected very little by it
if we assume its natural
then it will have evolved amount outer life forms that would have had to compet with it
That's my take on it
meaning they would have ither gone extion
or grow ways of dealing with it
meaning the best way to find the element homeworld may be to find the planet with the lesat element effected life
but that should also be nestesd inside lots of element hevey worlds
at leasst thats what makes sense to me
I don't see why we'd wanna find the home world i think it just needs to be avoided at all vosts
to bomb it out of creation obccorse
pluss if element is a hive mind it stands to resson there is a heart somwhere
That's not how a fucking hivemind works........
That's like the opposite of it lol
Quite literally, the opposite.
There can be a supporting pillar for a hivemind, like the gravemind from Halo, or the overseer from Starcraft. (or the King-Titan in ARK's case)
But they're not 'needed' for their survival.
The hivemind also doesn't encase all element and chances are its unique to Earths element-
Or the Earths corruption rather
Which is very valid.
Hiveminds can have different branches/factions.
But theres also just no examples we've been given of element existing in a hivemind, as far as we know Earth is the exception not the standard
Yes I know it might be the case
Nothing that has grown with element is a hive mind that we've been shown, gasbags, velos, manas, gachas, all exist normally with extremely high element corruption levels
Helena confirms it 'is' a hivemind
Is she referring to what we got on Earth or the thing as a whole?
Well, obviously what we have on Earth, since that's the only samples of Element we know that existed pre-Gen2.
We don't know if the Gen2 Element is a hivemind, cause they're in a dormant crystal-like state.
And for all we know, the Gen2 Element could be either connected to Earth's hivemind, or its own hivemind.
(which I personally like the idea of having multiple hivemind factions.)
It could, but from what we observed with the creatures on extinction growing with element, they display no hivemind properties
Nothing with the blue corruption acts in a hivemind fashion
so why did the kng titan exist
Which is why to me, Corruption and Element are separate.
Corruption is either the next-step for Elements evolution, or was 'corrupted' by unknown means during the tek-war.
did it have a goal or what?
Same reason why the Titans exist.
To protect Corruption, and to destroy anything that means it harm.
Element seems to exist in a spectrum, blue being the calmer and safer version and purple/violet being the volatile and corrupting version
Like element is always referred to as violet but why is what we get always blue?
Do we just have a safer version or something?
Element ore is purple but the element we refine from it is blue
The blue version is the dormant/raw form of Element. Basically, the closest to the original shit that came from the meteor. (as seen in Gen2)
But could the gems actually serve to be some form of containment for the volatility?
Corruption came at the end of the Tek-War by unknown means.
Corruption is formed after the raw Element is used, and it pollinates the soil.
Not a bad theory.
But then that wouldn't explain how the Extinction-creatures aren't part of the hivemind if the gems are to keep it contained from being volatile.
I dunno that's a question for Marc not me
The gems surely have some significance though
Blue gems being used in hazmat suits that can protect against the volatility especially
so crouption recognised humanity as a threat and made the titans to stop them from detroing it?
Well, that wouldn't be for Marc, that'd be for Peter Fries.
More or less, yeah.
True
ok so let me see if i have this right
metorite crashs on earth at an unkown date
at some point in time we disvoverd it
and started using the element - (stable in blue form)
The original "titans" weren't near as big and were really just soldiers for the corruption, Mei did most of those in though, then Mei and Diana wiped out most of the rest together leaving the king's main "lieutenants," the biggest ones, and the king himself
wow so they did al the bulk work and made our job doable
Meteor crashed around in the 23rd century if I recall
Kind of like a Attack-on-Titan situation where there 'where' a lot of different size titans.
King-Titan obviously being the largest, with his 3 lieutenants being right behind him.
Thats if Gabriel was wrong which we can't be sure about
Or there could've still been a meteor but it was just there beforehand anyways
It's the closest we got to a confirmed date, so I'll take it
Nah, we would've known.
The amount of energy Element admits would make all of our current Geiger-Mueller's go fucking crazy.
But we don't know that
It wouldn't make sense if we didn't know it but that's exactly why it's very possible
We should just get Matpat to figure it out hes the smart one
We kind of do though.
Element has been shown multiple times to admit heavy amounts of energy by itself.
Hell, Aberration's radiation is most likely due to molten Element.
Also, we've studied all of (surface) based meteor sites that're from out past.
Oh hell no.
I don't want a fucking......I forgor which game it was, but he made a halfass theory video of a video-game that was shit cause he didn't research it.
Hed probably do a better job than half the people here
Mainly because
isn't how he responds to criticism
I don't know man.
I'd rather be or be the one reacting with veggies, then have the man that tries to have a theory about why the consumers in the Lorax are the bad-guys, and not the very corporations that caused the world to go into a apocalyptic state.
Like, if he does very heavy research, then I'd be fine with it.
But don't fucking just make a quick video out of it with little to no research.
Dare I say... different hives
Maybe because the blue corruption isn't taking over the host, but rather living in symbiosis with it in those cases?
I think that's what Marc confirmed.
Unless you where remarking, then yeah.
I still don't understand your obsession with that, it was a DREAM of a past life of one of his two segmented selves, that was influenced (albeit ever so slightly) by Rockwell's meddling with his engram, you are looking somewhere that there's nothing to be found. Element didn't exist on past Earth that we know of (or have any reasonable suspicion to believe), period. It would be very useless and kind of moot to mention anything of the sort, especially in a DLC where the whole point is that you're leaving Earth
"Sans is Ness"
O h y e a h
That was a fucking theory
But I do like he allows people to counter theory his theories tho (like he stated in a Film Theory episode about public domain)
But there is a reason why he didn't do ARK theories before and after the game is finished
It's either not in his radar or in his interested genre of game
Oh defiantly.
I'm not saying he's a bad youtuber, or person. I love the man.
But he has some of the most fucking absurd theories sometimes.
I'm glad he never touched the game, tbh
Not really something I see him doing, at least not well, with how much fragmented and spread tf out lore this game has externally
Imagine how swarmed this channel would be full if idiots if he made an inaccurate theory video on ARK, and everyone that doesn't know ARK assumes this is correct.
Umm
I shudder at the thought
No need to imagine when that someone exists lol
To be fair, he's been doing the FNAF theories for years, and those have been pretty solid, for a game that also has fragmented lore
'Someone'
Not 'everyone'
That, is a fear I don't wanna see.
20+ people in this channel going "So the King-Titan is actually the good guy, and Corruption should've had our planet"
Yeah, but for the most part, the lore is in the games or an ARG or posted directly to the creator's page and such
The good ol "the bad guy is not wrong" theories
Tbh I wonna see his takes of "Rockwell is not insane"
Element as a whole, I do wanna see have a morally-grey spot.
But Corruption should just flatout be bad, like comically evil like it is.
Isn't like 80% of ARK's lore within the games also, with the notes and such?
With a few things being soft-confirmed from external sources like Marc.
The closest we get to a big "beyond the niche" YouTuber that tackled ARK is Goji Center (basically Death Battle but with Kaijus and Dinosaurs)
Holy shit, I didn't even know that
"What if ARK's Giga entered Jurassic World"
Everything would fucking die. 🗿
ARK players: as expected
"ark giga vs deviljho" okay, that's a fucking battle I'd pay to watch
Honestly, even though the ARK giga is a bit larger then the deviljho, I'd say the Deviljho would win.
He is using wild one as a reference, I expected the epic bleed tho
There's a lot of big important lore that is not found in-game, important from my perspective at the very least, and I'd probably count it closer to 75% of it being found in-game
Interesting.
What'd you consider important that's from external sources?
Mat Pat is into external lore clues
So ARK is something that isn't his radar anyways
Lots of things, like the idea that the Moon being blown up is just for cool points or that the ruins on The Island and subsequent maps have been there for at least a few hundreds, if not thousands, of years. I can't really remember the bigger ones rn, tbh 😅
Ahhh, yeah.
I always fucking hated that moon shit.
"Yeah, we have it blown up cause we thought it was cool"
Like 'BRUH'
If you're going to make such a fucking impact to a universe like blowing up the goddamn moon cause it's "cool" at least add a half-ass lore explanation to it.
I always thought that it was because there were people living on the Moon by the time the game happened 🤷♂️
Sounds like a pretty reasonable conclusion to come upon to me
I dunno I like the environmental story telling more
Sure the whole "moon broke coz rule of cool" thing but at least we figured out in theory on why Ext is endlessly hot and sunny
It's reasonable, but not confirmed.
Which is my main issue.
There's no hint that people lived on the moon, so there's nothing to bring that theory into light if we're sticking with official canon.
Which is what peeves me.
I also like the idea of either the URE or Feds being on the moon, and the opposing side decided to nuke it.
Yeaaaah, that's more or less what I was getting at 😅
We already see how much the URE like to nuke things via Aberration, like actually see it with our own eyes, so not a terribly far-out conclusion to jump to
We know the Feds exists and thriving but never a word from the URE aside from their clone versions
Doesn't the Terran Federation also canonically fucking air-strike New-Zealand off of the map?
Think that was said in Gen2
Shit, I forgot.
Was it ever confirmed who won the war?
More of a tie tbh
The biggest question to me is that who survived the first wave of corruption aside from the feds in the Gen Ship
Uhhh, neither? Lol
And the ARKs are self-sustained with just clones and homo deus
Oh right, the war stopped 'due' to the Corruption levels rising
What remains of the URE is (or was) on the Arks and in the ship, like the Federation. Kind of the point of the post-war truce, to preserve life on both sides 😅
I mean after that said truce
We don't have anything that is from the URE that isn't cloned like Diana
I'd assume they probably put their differences aside and either made a alliance, or flat out merged their nations to become one.
Possibly
The merger I mean
Man I really really want that RTS TEK War spin off tbh
They did fall in under the same banner, iirc
That's why only the Federation of Earth is mentioned, not the United Republics of Earth
Honestly, I'd love to see the political fallout of that.
The idea of the leaders of either side (or one side) might've been too stubborn to let go of the petty war, and so had to be usurped by more competent people sounds interesting.
Ex-Terran/URE leader that got usurped is now trying to pull shit on Arat. 🗿
What if that said person is the "dark forces" that cause the divide between humanity and the orks
Just like how the Spaniards betrayed my people
Welp, I was going to make a joke about some current figure head. But apparently his name is banned.
Would be in-line with my current idea of what the big bad of Ark 2 is, which is an enemy tribe of humans messing with tek yet again
What?
What?
Read
If that’s what we get after Rockwell and the element then it would be kinda a let down
I’m not sure how they can tip that
Then again if you asked me to predic Rockwell and extion back when it was just the island and se
I wouldent be able in a million years
No, the dev's did
What I was saying, is that they just added a blown up moon in the Overseer arena "cause it looked cool"
Hey y'all so I asked ai to tell all of arks lore and this is what I got😂😭
The Ark lore refers to the story and background of the video game "ARK: Survival Evolved" and its related media. The game is set in a science-fiction world where players must survive on an island filled with prehistoric creatures and advanced technology. Here's a brief rundown of the Ark lore:
In the distant future, Earth is facing an impending disaster that threatens the survival of all life. To prevent this, a group of advanced scientists known as the "Obelisks" create an artificial intelligence known as "Helena" to help them find a solution. Helena devises a plan to send a group of people back in time to an island called "The Ark" where they can study the prehistoric creatures and obtain genetic samples that could help save the future.
Players take on the role of one of these time-travelers who are implanted with a device called an "Implant" which allows them to access advanced technology and communicate with Helena. However, they soon discover that they are not alone on the island and must fight to survive against dangerous creatures and other human survivors.
As players progress through the game, they uncover more of the Ark's history and secrets, including the fact that the island is actually a massive spaceship created by an ancient alien race known as the "Creators." The Creators designed the Ark to preserve life from all over the galaxy and protect it from a great cosmic disaster known as the "Great Collapse." However, the Ark's mission was disrupted when a group of rogue aliens known as the "Corrupted" infiltrated the Ark and caused chaos.
Players must eventually confront the Corrupted and uncover their plans, which involve using the Ark's technology to create an army of genetically-engineered creatures and take over the galaxy. Along the way, players also encounter various factions and tribes of human survivors who have their own agendas and conflicts.
As players progress through the game's various maps and expansions, they uncover more of the
, they uncover more of the Ark's history and secrets, including the true nature of Helena, the origin of the Ark's prehistoric creatures, and the fate of the Creators.
ChatGPT?
Yuh
Not "entirely true" but chat gpt told me that to defeat the dinopithecus king I would need just good armor and a high quality gun
And some players "decide to take tamed into the arena"
I mean it's not wrong
It was just talking about before they patched how you could get above the arena
When i did that it just told me Ark was a campaign based game with quests you completed to uncover lore
Honestly, this sounds interesting as it's own plot.
I don't enjoy the time traveling part
Time traveling is as bad of a plot net as respawning
Nah, I much more prefer time traveling then respawning, if done right.
this is why chat gpt cant be trusted because it takes names and similer data and weves into convincing rubbish i mean if we showed this to someone whod never heard of ark they buy it
and thats the problrm
I mean, it's a language algorithm, what did you expect 😂
Chatgpt and other ai algorithms are wonderful resources as long as it's something that's more broadly published and researchable, ive got an ai similar to chat gpt to give me a wonderful explanation of quantum physics but it definitely shouldn't be relied upon especially for more obscure questions
Skill issue on not doing proper research
They are excellent and elaborating and enhancing the words used to describe things, but they are absolutely trash at actually giving relevant info. At least as of yet
Why does this sound cool
Of course it's super wrong, and I dearly love the lore that we have today, but I could see this being the actual story if things had been handled by a different writer.
i love the grim darkness of the first 4, genesis is meh
Genesis 2 would've been awesome if the story was different and there was actually a sense of impending doom
I thought I would have been cooler if Rockwell managed to get to Arat Prime and he would become the boss over on ARK II
But this time, no Tek and he’s not able to do anything cause the ships broken
N o
Any situation where Rockwell manages to get to Arat prime is a total loss scenario for the survivor
Which actually I wouldn't mind tbh
When Warframe released the new war, one of the best parts of that quest was just being helpless and being faced with the impact of your complete failure in resisting Ballas
Games don't do that very often, they never take your failure and drag your face through it
Its always "oh im the protagonist i always win"
Or it's like Halo where you get to go out fighting so its at least badass
Very very rarely is "you fucked up, watch the consequences"
Even in Mass Effect with the decisions, nothing really makes you feel like crap theres always a silver lining
Chat GPT? Nah fam, you were using Chad GPT
Except the big choice in 1, and the ending of 3 which almost everyone hated because it was exactly what you described lol
Which ending of 3 there were like 10😭
The big choice in 1 i can see, that wasn't that hard for me to decide though
I assume you mean the one that's like common sense
I think the best thing there would to do what they refused to fo on earth and just scorched earth policy
Pull a ship master and glass the planet
Well, yeah lol
Agreed.
This is why I didn't like their 'story missions' in Gen2
They felt more comedic then serious.
Like they should've been in Gen1
I mean, the fact there's no immediate like hard timer or something until the ship blows up or some shit is purely because of the fact that it would imply a defined end to the map (which is impossible to do with a sandbox game), so that's a little jank I will admit, but if you play through them and beat the map in a timely manner it makes sense thematically
i was at first thought the Gen Sim is the origin of the ARKs because of the tidbits
You....don't need a timer to make a impending danger in a story feel....dangerous?
No shit, Sherlock. But you get goddamn the point 🙄
bruv, you dont even need time importance, look at the first 4
earth is already trashed
Clearly, I didn't
Was it Zelda that had the moon?
Skill issue
Where you were on a time limit?
Yep, but timers are fine in single-player games
Not so much in a MMO-like game
Much harder in multi
Could you imagen a pvp gen 2 server with that kind of timer
Ah, my point, you lying sack of shit
You literally just explained it
I love manipulation
Gen 2's "story" is within a narrative timer... never implemented a game one like Zelda because PVP and other online shenanigans
because sandbox MMO*
PvP has nothing to do with the lack of seriousness to the situation
laymans dont know that
Whe
Wheao
Wheaon
Wheat
Imagine if Gen2 maps were temporary though...
Then they wipe and you get to go again
Server settings could disable that of course
kinda defeats the purpose
That would certainly bring a sense of impending doom, to be sure 😅
also non-ArkPoc/alpha tribes be raged
What purpose? To be fun?
You can make the tensions within the story high, and try to invest the player in a story they care for.
Try to appease to the selfishness of most players, and instead of emphasizing of the ship being destroyed, they might've gotten away if they focused more on the 'player' themselves dying, or their bases/tames.
And instead of showing the tension via goofy mini-games, they might've been able to get away with showing the tension via Rockwell himself.
Either by allowing a 20+ tame limit in a specific mission that shows Rockwell's horde-army, or a horde-defense mission where you have to defend one of the gates of Rockwell's-ring so none of his abominations can cross onto the Eden-ring.
Feel like there are better ways to show tension, even in a MMO like ARK then what they did.
gameplay < story is not what official players want
That's literally what we're getting at here, adding a sense of doom to the map to improve the feel, whe
it's basically just mini-ARKPoc
I know. Of course they don't, but what if that was how it had come out? Would they have complained? Yes. Is that new? No
plus there is already tension in game with all the tribal drama and that
Apparently not, that's why this was brought up in the first place???
only us Lore Nerds (and maybe a few PVE players) like that said concept
You aren't viewing this from the right perspective
That's tension via PvP, not the story. (which is what at least I was talking about)
we are talking about having Gen 2 being Just ARKPoc DLC because story
That's....not at all what Bruise was trying to say
It's a wall-text, but I think this paints a better picture
talking about this
So embrace the conversation and speculate if you like the idea. Of course it isn't what most people would have wanted, but we are discussing ways to make the story feel better on Gen 2. In #lore-nerdz. Let us speculate lol
putting a wrench on a "tried and tested" gameplay because trying to make the story "more important" on a sandbox multiplayer game is what i am pointing out here
why do you think people hated the so called "missions" and its requirement to access the boss the missions would have story missions as they promised
I'd hate if Gen2 was timed.
But what they could've also done, is gave the timers in the missions more tension, and worry.
Instead of kicking you out of the simulation, Rockwell finds you within his domain, and slaughters you. Screen goes black, and all you can hear is either a male or female blood curdling scream, while the respawn scream phases in.
I'm just gonna drop it, dead topic has died
i prefer this tbh since missions are self contained anyways
Damn, would've liked to know your thoughts.
That's about all I got for ya @bold dove
That would be cool. And perhaps even, seeing Rockwell react to your victory if you pass it. Currently it doesn't feel like beating a mission has any impact on him. Maybe a cutscene, or a visual change that is temporary
mmm more GBs per DLC
Would be cool to see Rockwell's Garden become more fleshy, with his flesh biome spread to the outside via the missions.
Fuck it.
If it means actually having cool details.
saids the guy who use INI just to make the Terminus mission playable
C'mon, a cutscene or two lol. The GB is from the map size
You like to bring up irrelevant shit, Mazzy.
How the fuck does Gigabyte size have anything to do with performance?
Yeah, as he slowly corrupts it more and more
Then explain why CI is so big, it has nothing
more things to load in even in low render, more bits to download on a throttled net thus long long time
a sole reason why i play on low
personal issue yes but i am not the only one who has that exclusively
That's not much of a performance drop though, if they're smart and butcher the geometry of landscapes we'll never physically go to in missions.
And yeah, that's a personal issue.
Don't need have INI settings now.
fingers crossed on that UE5 thing people hyped about
also yes i "like spewing irrelevant shit" because 3 am end-of-month sicko mode
Okay, fair.
its that good ol natural monthly mood swings again
Ah, explains a lot 😅
How do the creatures from the simulation go into the real world without a problem?
Spacemagic
24th century science allowing for complete physical and genetic reconstruction of digitally constructed life, using programmable biomatter
I apologize if that's hard to read, lmao
Game feture explained with the old any suficently advanced tech is indistjngwishable from magic
Basically what they said In terms of space magic
That canon or head cannon to fill a plot hole?
Ah cool
Hmmmm…
Ignore this
This is more correct
Who dosent
Some of its solid writing but some is also dam there is a plot quickly make some shit up to fill it
Yeah
Helena would be screwd in her visions if the king titan knew how to climb a ladder
'any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic'
space magic is just high concept scifi stuff that's too complex to fully explain
Yep
I agree
Hey y'all I'm using Chat BOT AI and prompt engineering to create the main plot beats for an Isekai anime set in the world of Ark survival evolved tell me what you think of it thus far, I think it turned out much better than expected.
Hiro Nakamura found himself lying on the shore of an unfamiliar land, his body aching and head throbbing. As he slowly sat up and looked around, he noticed the strange, futuristic implant embedded in his arm. Confused and disoriented, Hiro couldn't help but feel a deep sense of dread as he surveyed the world around him. It wasn't long before he stumbled upon a gruesome scene - a survivor who had just been transported to this world being torn apart by a pack of vicious raptors. Hiro's heart raced as he hid behind a rock, watching the bloodthirsty creatures feast on their prey. The brutality of this world was apparent, and Hiro knew he needed to find allies if he had any hope of survival.
Kiyoko Fujita found herself in a dense forest, filled with unfamiliar plants and the sounds of creatures she couldn't identify. She shivered, feeling a deep sense of loneliness and vulnerability. As she cautiously ventured deeper into the forest, she came across a Spinosaurus locked in a vicious battle with a Pteranodon. The Spinosaurus impaled the Pteranodon with its sharp claws, brutally ending the creature's life. Witnessing this display of raw, untamed power left Kiyoko feeling even more lost and frightened than before.
Akira Yamamoto woke up on a hill overlooking a vast plain. In the distance, he could see a group of survivors clad in armor, forcefully recruiting new arrivals to join their ranks. The scene was a stark reminder of the cold, militaristic nature of this new world. Akira felt anger bubble up within him, fueling his determination to protect himself and others from the cruelty that seemed to be lurking around every corner.
As Kiyoko continued to navigate the forest, she stumbled upon Hiro, who was cautiously making his way through the underbrush. Their eyes met, and the relief in finding another human being was palpable. They exchanged words, sharing their experiences and fears about this brutal new world.
"I saw a man being torn apart by raptors," Hiro recounted, his voice shaking.
Kiyoko shuddered. "I saw a Spinosaurus killing a Pteranodon. It was horrifying."
Just as the duo began to discuss their plans for survival, they heard the sound of battle nearby. Rushing to the scene, they found Akira cornered by a pack of Troodons, his arrows running low. Without hesitation, Hiro and Kiyoko lured the Troodons away, giving Akira the chance to escape.
Akira, stubborn and prideful, did not immediately acknowledge their help. However, as they continued to navigate the Ark together, they found themselves facing a group of maniacal survivors riding raptors, intent on hunting the trio down. The three companions, through quick thinking and teamwork, managed to outsmart the crazed survivors, capturing and tying them up for questioning.
Under the ethereal glow of the moon, the trio finally found a moment of respite, sitting together on a beach. They made a solemn vow to one another.
"We will find a way to defeat the Overseer and return home," Hiro declared, his determination unwavering.
Akira, his pride tempered by gratitude, added, "Together, we'll protect each other and survive this nightmare."
Kiyoko, ever the compassionate nurturer, chimed in softly, "We'll be there for one another, no matter what challenges we face."
United by their shared experiences and resolve, the trio began their journey to conquer the brutal world of Ark: Survival Evolved.
i mean ARK IS an isekai in a way
both in the notes and (soon) in the #ark-animated-series
I know I’m just rewriting it to be more like an isekai
WDM "more"? when it is already by definition, an Isekai
Addition of weeb names 😂
You're using AI to write your story?
emphasis on your
Sorry what’s an isekai
?
When characters from the real world get transported to a fictional one
Don’t think computer programs can clame ownership fo a book
but the source to used to trained with is
or a different world
Do you think I could turn this into a comic book and than sell it online
No, since it uses intellectual property that you don't own, lol
Fuck no.
It isn't your property.
You'd have a lawsuit on your hand
someone already tried it... denied copyright previlages
Unless you got super lucky and ark is under a Creative Commons licence
Or you live in Russia I doite it
Ill just change the name from Ark to something else and slightly change the story
Wild card will have that locked down
Maby
Maby it works maby they hit you with copy write and take you to the cleaners
If it's close enough to the story, it'd still be enough to get you into a lawsuit
You'd need to completely revamp it to make it legally different
Its not close to the story of Helena, its just set in the same world, if I call the world something different I doubt there would be aby lawsuits
Ill ask the AI how I can avoid lawsuits problem solved
the AI can self edit its content too
Do you not see the problem with that?
What problem?
The problem you're asking a still work-in-progress AI about fucking legal issues
Well all things aside the story this AI made is going to be way better than the actual ark animated series
I suppose Ill just shelve it
If they can, something is wrong.
You cannot claim anything done by an ai as intellectual property at least in the US
they cant because the copyright laws stated that "the final product has to me made/written by a human"
It is free for anyone to steal whenever they see fit
more like trash it because there is no way that will ever be accepted as "copyrightable" anyways
Don't shelve it, write your OWN story. AI work can be used for inspiration, but reading actual litterature is probably better. If you have a good idea, you should work on it, write it, create it yourself. Then you may be able to publish it, unless of course this story is set in the Ark universe. You would need permission from Wildcard themselves, then
i mean we already have ARK fan fics exists
But can people earn money off of them?
if WC or god forbid Snail tries to take down fan made content then it's another rep blow against the fans
You will find it much easier to write your own universe than to work within the constraints of an existing one
yes in a sense through YouTube for visual fan stories or sites like Wattpad or Web Toon for Written/Drawn media
as long as it's not a video game like ARK
take Pokemon for example
you can make fan stories and fan fiction but never a fan game
This is true. Working in an existing universe requires extensive knowledge of said universe if you wish to please the fans. Creating your own world allows for soft world building, you can make everything up yourself. If you struggle with the creativity of making your own universe, you are most likely thinking too hard, since you only need to know about places or happenings that take place in your story. Most worlds are built as the story progresses @hollow anvil .
As someone attempting to write a story within the Ark universe aswell, I often find myself exploring the explorer notes more than actually writing. If I had made my own world, like I have in other stories, I'd have a whole lot more written
Understood gamers, although the idea of a giant space colony with prehistoric life and fantastical creatures testing survivors is one I want to develop into my own story
so I will retain those elements
you can start with that or just make your own survivor's story based on what you experienced in game
you can make a fan fiction but never a fan game
Matt Mercer has some wonderful advice for world building if you can find it
What we just observed is the newly risen issue of putting too much faith in AI
basically
I mean, ai is great, but it can't write decent stories yet
Especially using anime characters
How do you infringe upon two intellectual properties simultaneously and not realize it
As long as you don't publish it it's fine usually
Why is it when you completed extinction but go back to the island your island isn’t anywhere close to extinction?
Cause there's a thing called 'playing the maps in order'
Cring
Always thought that it would be cool if someone merged the maps and made a post-end of game Extinction
i was hoping gen was going to take advantage of the proto arks from extinction. have a central 'hub' zone with several proto ark like things around it for the different biomes
would have been a nice callback to extinction too
I honestly thought that we were getting mini-maps that were treated as whole maps for Gen 1, lol
But yeah, the proto-Ark approach was very cool and is something I would have loved to see a map be comprised of, but in the simulation, so you could walk between them and there'd be like this cool wireframe land in between them like the Matrix or something 😂
Back then I thought Genesis is supposed to be the ARK origin because of the tidbits until CMC is revealed to be Rockwell
Basically like Fjördur but in reverse
I literally had this same idea the other day lol
YO BOB
Plus you’d get new creatures called after corrupted’s that would attack only when provoked
🤨
A what
Optimisation be like:
Mmmm the ultimate spaghetti that can destroy even the best of PCs
As much as I agree for lore sake but I prefer ARK 1 ended in Ext with Gen being a side post story as a prologue for ARK 2
Genesis is like the prologue for ARK II
I was gonna say
I didn't say it had to be a developer made merged map, did I???
"The base game will include The Island, SOTF, and all the “Non-Canon” DLC maps (which will be added to ASA over time)." it's confirmed bois!
Custom-Maps aren't canon!
this needs to get pinned
Val is not Aberration! fuckkkkingg yeaaaaaah!!!
you cannot deny that fact anymore, it's officially said that the free DLC maps is no longer canon!
xd
So they're making a new canonical map?
No, it's an april fools joke
From the wording of it, yes
It's fucking happening and I'm all for it.
Finally. The DLC I've wanted ever since I knew the game had lore.
Dude, omfg, how is it not clicking in people's brains yet
'IF' the release-date means anything, that means it'll be either between Scorched-Aberration, or Aberration-Extinction.
'Buuut' if release order doesn't matter to them, this can be set at any time.
With what?
Look at the damn animated series pic they shared, tell me what you numbskulls see
The Overseer Arena.
I see the Overseer arena

If that isn't proof enough, idk what else to tell you
Proof of what?
He thinks we're going to the moon.
Y'all are joking right
Just tell us, instead of being an ass.
It's an april fools joke, jfc
It's the 31st though
Do I need to spell it out for you?
💀💀💀
Sure, in some parts of the world
The parts where Wildcard is
They're in the lunar biome, wearing cloth armor, with a tek bow
Are you fucking serious please say sike
That looks like the Overseer arena, with the moon destroyed
I don't want to believe this is the real Bootleg chatting
Please say sike
"Feature Sunset: With the launch of ASA, we will be ending official support for Primitive+, Split Screen, and Procedurally Generated Maps. These aspects of the game will not be ported to the new Unreal Engine 5 version."
Yerp
They're not going to port features no one uses.
What's the issue?
" We plan to release a new canonical-story expansion pack for ARK: Survival Ascended that will be available in Q4 2023. This DLC will feature four new creatures, which we’ll share more details about later this year!"
Guess we'll see if they do continue talking about it past April-1st
I can't today, this is something else, WC did it and I'm so proud of them
That, or you're looking too far into it.
So theyre j gonna add another canonical map?
yes but in which time line, we never know
I don't see why they'd release an official roadmap as an april fools joke when it's not even the first yet
I don't necessarily believe there would be a new map but theres definitely a lot of other information in there that seems legit
It also seems stupid that theyd release a pack of ark two and ark on ue5 for only like 50 usd-
I get that it's only on Microsoft platforms and Microsoft like owns wildcard or whatever but still that seems off
The animated series art is also really sketch
i mean $50 for 2 complete games (minus the DLC) is a steal tbh
Oh absolutely
But Microsoft would also give themselves a steal to pull more people from sony
"We also recognize that ARK 2 has some pretty significant design changes from the original game, which may not make it as appealing to everyone (looking at you, Souls-like combat, primitive-only weaponry, and strict third-person mechanics – and an overall “very serious” tone), which is why we feel it is essential to provide players with a fully next-gen version of the original experience to ensure that fans can continue to enjoy the ARK they know for years to come. "
This is sketch
thats Sony's issue
I mean there is also a lady next to Helena holding a tek bow
possibly one of the new OC's
I am sobbing right now only a few months tell I can see an unreal 5 shinehorn😭
I can't fucking wait
I wanna see Rockwell's tentacle shinehorn
we get any colol fake lore for april fools?
Rockwell is gay
Hardstuck ps5 so no ark 2 for me 🫠
#BlameSony
Forget the unreal engine 5 shinehorn
I wanna see the unreal engine 5 otter
When they pull the "Let's see Paul Allen's card." in casual conversation
Who
It's an American Psycho reference
ah this is not just a place to speak the lore
but a place to learn fair warning shold you choise to take the path of enlitenment its a lot of infomation bits of which we arnt even sure off rockwells death cought rockwells death but id recon its worth it at least to see if it intrests you in that case just ask for a sonopsis as this chat has some amazing ark historyians in it :)
thats not a problem
Lowkey a hope they add trophy’s for the dlc maps like they did with the center in ASA. I’m a trophy hunter and love ark so it would be very fun to do
Wat also, what is that have to do with lore
This makes me worried
Why can't I emoji react here? Tf?
you have been disarmed
Maybe thats the real april fools joke
Was a few that ruined it for the many, they're turned off for a little while to make it easier on the mod team. Sorry ❤️
Dang, makes me wonder what happened lol
ark chatter outrage it seems
Yeah, the goofy ones strike and the patient ones are punished for it 🥲
all of them are goofy as balls
Used to it though, with Ark players
it's my reliable laughing stock
Are they off forever? 😭
Just for a little while until we feel they can safely be turned back on. I know it's annoying, but please just trust us
Oh we know, sorry you have to deal with this whole thing, what with all the trolls and such flooding in from the April Fools roadmap and all. Remember to take time out for yourself, I can't even imagine reading half the shit they're probably saying in #general 😖
Oh, I know how it is. No worries. I just miss putting funny reactions everywhere 😂😭
Dw we're taking breaks as needed
good to hear
What he said ^
Question: Since Aberration crashes after Extinction, does does this mean all our tames there die? Same for our Extinction tames located at Sanctuary
Probably
Kinda hopeing the new dlc will be in between extention and gen 1 on earth
probuly
what new dlc?
Asa exclusive
The one announced on the road map
NOOOO
ASA>
What
Whatever
whats asa?
why oh why are we getting a remake
im guessing they are pulling a bethesda and selling it full price as a new stand alone vertion
that everyone who already owns ark will need to buy
and that will make standerd ark obsolet
Remember this channel is for discussing the lore within ARK.
Arat... PRIME!
Can't wait to see what it looks like.
I can't wait for it to be not arat prime related at all
What else could they even do for another story dlc?
💀
I can't wait for it to be extinction with grass
Its literally Arat Prime.
Or pre tek nuke aberration
That wouldn't make sense storywise
But this could go SO many ways.
In my ideal scenario, it would be like, a race against the clock.
Like, this is right after the Reseed
And Rockwell is on his way to Arat Prime
So by the end, we fail in attempting to stop him from using the superluminal link to Genesis
We fuck him up, he goes through, and we follow.
How do you make that a boss fight?
If you have to fail because of the plot?
Nono, lemme explain, hear me out
Ok
Or just stop him from recorrupting earth and in the cutscene have him beam away to gen 1
He... wasn't gonna Corrupt Earth...
We fatally wound him, so he runs away like the piece of garbage that he is.
Is it actually said anywhere he wasn't or is it left up to interpretation
It's literally impossible for him to do so.
Not only that, but he doesn't LIKE Corruption.
It's below him.
Has he actually said that
How would he take over earth anyway with thousands of arks purging all the element?
Idk ab makeing the entire thing malfunction when it comes down
Because if it didn't how would of Rockwell got to arat prime before being wiped out by the arks
Being full of element
I do not spell check apreintly
Or am I being an idiot and forgetting something
I am
I just realized if the new dlc is arat prime then the teaser at the end of the extinction cut scene will finally make more sense
He thinks hes a god he thinks everyone is below him
No.. no. Yes but no.
Rockwell sees the Corruption as... well, how we see it. Corruption.
It's savage, it feeds off of hatred and anger, it's like a wild beast. Primitive.
Rockwell isn't really a being of Element corruption, he's a being of Element... mutation.
His 'Corruption' rears its ugly head in Genesis, where he kinda just starts fusing and spreading with everything everywhere.
So, if anything, if he HYPOTHETICALLY wanted to 'Corrupt' Earth, he'd just subsume a chunk of it where he'd be able to oversee and expirement on his new dominion.
But... he can't. So he went to the Genship.
Any of that make sense??
I wonder if rockwell tried to take over the area surrounding aberration, since it was too broken to purge any element or if he just went straight to arat prime?
He probably just went straight to arat prime because the genesis ship had more space (literally) and also the potential to allow him to eventually take over entire planets.
Anyway...
Arat... PRIME!
Straight to Arat.
By the time his ARK would be landing, the other ARKs would be purging the Element from the soil, and surrounding area.
Definitely
Don't ask me how Aberration went from being above Sanctuary to crashing near Arat Prime, but... ask the writer.
Wait... what?
Ohhh
Yeah, you can see Aberration from The Island.
The Island is DIRECTLY next to Sanctuary.
Arat Prime is on the opposite side of the Earth to Sanctuary.
So... Aberration uh... kinda...
Yeah but you can see multiple aberration and scorched earth's from the island overseer area, I think that's just a gameplay thing
nah, you can only see one aberration
No... no you can't...
Never mind
Just checked a video and you're right
We're the arks locked in place or did they rotate around the planet
But you can also see another island map from the overseer arena meaning that there's multiple island maps
Yeah, they just used the same asset iirc
It could be cannon that there are multiple "the island" arks
The arks are completely artificial made from the ground up after all
No.
Dear fuck
Why does EVERYONE say that
Just no.
The Canon explanation is that Wildcard didn't want to make ten billion different ARK models if we're only going to see them for literally 5 seconds.
Then where is the cannon explanation for aberration getting above arat prime?
Like I said literally 5 minutes ago, ask the writer.
Where writer?
Hmm... very convenient for rockwell I guess
to crash into arat prime, aberration had to first be above it
And how did it get above it? I NEED ANSWERS
Doesn't matter.
Yeah it actually doesn't
But I need to know all the ark lore
Watch uhhh
Watch Neddythenoodle's 3 lore recaps
I did a LOT of the writing on them
But we kinda hit a roadblock at 4
I've already watched them all twice

Nice, I didn't know you worked on them
how does that even work or do we jsut say magic space tech?
There's no explanation, but there had been technology able to purge Element on a smaller scale before the ARKs were launched.
changed its location in the deorbiiting for even spread of element purging
i dont know if thats cannon
but i think its what makes the most sense
Looking to the Stryders, Santiago designed them specifically to purge Element from the soil of the Genesis-Ship over long amounts of time, seeing as they were unable to get any uncontaminated samples by that point.
unless they parked them all in geostationery orbit id imagen theyd orbit
Though note, it was inferred that the process would be utterly slow and tediulous- nothing like the Transhumans eventually went on to achieve with the ARKs.
nah becuse the arks did it nearly instences
so did we have to kill the king titan to kinda weaken the element?
... yeah, that's the point.
Exactly.
have you ever wathced the deobribting of a space ship
unless youve got a lot of fule and a possible death which
youd deorbit on an angle
as to masimise drag on the atnasfeaer toslow you down
im still amazed they dident just sorched earth earth
you know hurl it into a black hole
id say burn it but the element could prob suveive it
...?? Huh??
as a last resoert
if they coudlent kill the titans and couldent regain the erath
im supised there was not some last resort where they cut there losses and just an old if we cant have the earth no one can
also side note
i wounder if the same tech used to purge the element
could be used to say get thouh a tek wall :)
..... the Genesis-Project..
have you met humanity
That's stupid, and near impossible.

they flew a ship acrose the stars and built massive micro biomes
i think our understanding of inpossible was thorwn the window a while ago
if they coudl repop then they wouldent want to
im jsut supirsed that there was no absolot last resort
whre they belive that retakign the earth is not possible
Oh my gawd~
Oh Hell nah~
what?
Boy, that don't make no gal-dern sense
thats true
it would be kinda rule of coool
im sure they jsut had a lot of faith in the arks
Most fucking generic anti-human response.
