So I’ve done a ton of mutation breeding, I know the whole process pretty thoroughly so I can explain if you have questions.

But fundamentally, you want to start with a group of females and a male that all have identical stats. Level does not matter, they just need to have equivalent stats in everything, it makes it much easier to tell when you get a mutation and what that mutation was in.

yeh the higher the level the more xp needed to progress so rexes aint gonna cut it - i usually use carchars for kill babies and they grant about 54 levels on a new hatch. anything higher is just gonna have to be grinded by using them

You know why no one plays lost colony? The caves are too large and awkward to build in, theres basically no cementing paste, you cant use a carcha to harvest meat, flint here is just awful (seriously 2 flint per rock??), half the map is a no flyer zone, its freezing the entire map all the time, theres no pyromanes, fasos, wyverns, griffins, or water tames whatsoever, the polymer plants barely give you anything and since all of the cementing paste is basically non-existent obsidian is useless, and worst of all metal farming here is the absolute worst. Not only that farming for the boss fight takes so incredibly long theres no point in running it for element, and you cant run it solo thats for sure. So lets recap: its not bob friendly, its not mid-tier friendly, and its not alpha friendly. Why would anyone live here??

you can try to make on of your theries go for dragon first and then let the rest of them attack from its behind but there is still a chance he might turn around

Get 2X storage ark is. Steam has autism and goes through every file (150gb) so it has to copy paste those temporarely which requires additional 150 gb even tho it's deleted afterwards. Stupid, i know. But either delete and re-install ark. Or get more free storage

If you can access the vault pick it up with your character an put it back down. Pick up the vault bag and put it back in vault as well.

theres a somewhat bug or so idk, but you can activate your breath when youre in the air, and then strafe sideways with the left-right "dash" abilities. then you will keep gliding into that direction for as long as you keep holding the breath-attack

basically, intel fucked up in several different ways in their rush to try and keep their CPUs competitive with AMD. they basically factory overclocked them to highly unsafe levels, and had a voltage regulation glitch that set extreme core voltage under some conditions. it was patched between august 2024 and spring 2025. anything without the final firmware patch will slowly degrade when used

No there is not, there are spots where you can put down condensed gas ball collectors and lots of oil rocks everywhere, what i usually do is just transfer over to scorched or rag and steal from someone else’s gas collector, chances are it will fill up again before they come to collect

If you are on a server and have a way to message a friend outside of the game have them drag you out of the cave. Other wise if you can even jump or fall towards the exit hopefully eventually you can get out.

If you are single player the only suggestion I have is to delete a mod to free some memory. I don’t know if that would help but it’s worth a try.

there is not really a way to fix that. consoles dont have any overflow for running out of memory. programs cant just stop and go "whoops, let's rewind and use less memory"

between mods and letting people build as extensively as they want, it is really on players to avoid. all the game can do is slightly lower baseline memory use

I'm on PS4 and it happens sometimes when I'm transferring between maps. When I try to exit to the main menu from the screen you get after uploading your character to the obelisk, that's when the crash happens. Not always, but probably like 30-50% of the time.

This game has a lot of bugs. Some that are genuinely, unacceptably bad. Like I've heard the game can just crash during boss fights and there's not much you can do to prevent that from happening. Quite frustrating. I like playing Ark but I sure am glad I didn't exactly spend any money on it. I've had it since it was free on PS Plus a couple years ago (or was it one of those free games they sent out during covid? Can't remember)

Been thinking a small TEK Raptor box with grinder, a greenhouse/kitchen with the brobot and trying to get a pair of gachas for some variety of resources.

I didn't need water tames; I was in the process of rendering them by hopping over, and then transfers went down, so I couldn't transfer them out. Then an update with cryo-fridges broke the cryo-pods, so I can't take them off now. I think everyone's more concerned about why I have water tames, missing the point that Wildcard yet again broke something and made people wait to fix their mistakes, yet the second there's something that benefits a player, they patch that instantly.
